Hi Anna I'm good thanks. Benjamin is nearly 5 weeks old now and such a good boy settled in completely and we hardly know we've got him really.

Hoping you don't have too long to wait to meet your little one.

Cheery1 · 26/07/2016 18:51

Hello ladies. Hoping all of you still waiting for LOs are doing ok, nearly there! So looking forward to hearing about more babies xx

AnnaT45 · 26/07/2016 19:19

Oh going that's good to know. It's gotten worse as days gone on and it's really quite painful. I'm having a bath which seems to be helping. I've got a consultant app tomorrow so may grab a midwife and see what she says.

I was hoping to have a few days to focus on me and baby before it arrives.. Of course DD is ill! Poor thing has a fever, not eaten all day and needs constant cuddles. Hope it's nothing too bad as I've got hair app on Thursday morning and she's due at nursery and I've got no one to watch her if not. So selfish but I need my roots doing pre baby lol!

becks that's great news! I'm hoping I've got the same. I'm getting slightly nervous about having two now. I'm hoping I'm more chilled this time round though.

Anyone got any exciting updates? X

smallplainblonde · 26/07/2016 20:58

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in so long but have been trying to read the thread. Congrats to everyone on the birth of your babies they are all beautiful.

Anna I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through. You sound so strong! Hope your daughter feels better soon.

I'm 40 + 3 now and fed up. Have had cramps on and off for about 2 weeks and definitely 2 nights where I felt something was happening. I had a sweep today and apparently I'm 1cm dilated and cervix is very soft. Baby is engaged too. I've also started losing my plug tonight - do you think I might go into labour soon?

Booked for an induction next Wednesday which seems like forever away and I really don't want to be induced if I can avoid it!

Currently bouncing away on my ball and considering asking husband if we can try and have sex later!!!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 27/07/2016 00:01

Smallplainblonde it sounds like you are close to meeting your little. Fingers crossed it is soon.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 27/07/2016 00:04

Anna i am sure your dd will be much better by Thursday. Our small people seem to recover from illness at incredible pace. My ds is on abs for a possible ear infection but after a day he already seems so much happier. And less diva like. We actually had a nice time together before nursery today as opposed to how he has been this weekend. Which can only be likened to a diva!

AnnaT45 · 27/07/2016 08:12

Oh small sounds really positive! Try not to worry about the induction too much. I know lots of people who went into labour the night before they were due to be induced! It also sounds like you're almost there so induction may just give you a gentle push in the right direction! Thanks also re my mum. I guess I'm quite string but I do have regular meltdowns about it too. I think it's been made easier as we had a couple of weeks to get our head around it if that makes sense.

Thanks going. She's still got a temp
Just under 39. I normally would leave her bit going to try get her to the dr this afternoon as if it is something I want it treating ASAP before baby comes! Hopefully it's nothing bad! Also my bath worked wonders for my piles! Going to have another quick one this morning to help them again.

Got the consultant this morning so will get my section date booked in hopefully! I'll keep you posted x

AnnaT45 · 27/07/2016 08:13

P.s glad your little one is better going. I hate the diva behaviour!!!!

pulpi · 27/07/2016 10:22

Oh my gods, I'm going to be pregnant forever. I thought everything was kicking off yesterday when I had a few hours of contractions being 10-15 minutes apart, but then everything stopped. So disappointed. DH is being wonderfully supportive, but this waiting is exhausting!

Midwife appointment tomorrow. Time for another sweep! Hopefully this one really kicks stuff off.

40+6

KayTee87 · 27/07/2016 10:41

Seems there's a few of us in the same position just now with cramps that aren't coming to anything.
I really think baby's head has dropped down and will find out soon at midwife. If it has then she will give me a sweep so fingers crossed. Had sex last night in case it helped soften my cervix in prep for sweep Blush

40+4

Lulabells · 27/07/2016 15:44

Hi ladies. Hope some of you have had more contractions today! I've not had any sign of baby. Trying to fill my diary with things to provoke sods law, lol.

Sounds like some of you are very very close to meeting your babies.

I had the man fix my washing machine this morning. He has freaked me out a bit by telling me his second daughter was meant to be a boy but came out a girl even after having two ultrasound scans. I always thought this one was another girl and even after being told a boy I've always had my doubts. Apart from a couple of baby grows I've gone blue with everything. Now I feel I wish I hadn't found out because I've bonded with my boy but now feel a bit disconnected. Only a few days til we find out for sure I guess but I hate the unknown!

Anyway, sending you all good labour vibes! Smile

40+1

KayTee87 · 27/07/2016 16:24

lula if that happens to us I will be giving away a lot of clothes GrinShock

Had my mw appointment and the good news is that the baby's head has fixed at pelvic brim but not dropped low enough to have a sweep. I'm to go in on Monday to be prepped for induction with pesseries etc. stay over Monday evening then taken to labour ward on the Tuesday for the drip. Tuesday is my birthday so I'm going to have to tell my mum, really wanted to avoid telling anyone when I went into labour, but she will be very hurt if I refuse to see her on my birthday and don't give her a reason.
I will have to strongly say to her that we won't be giving her updates though and I don't want any visitors unless invited and most importantly not to tell anyone else.
Feel like all the privacy has been taken away from it but I don't mind the thought of induction as much as I thought I would, just viewing it as a means to an end.
Still time for a natural labour before that though!

Lulabells · 27/07/2016 17:08

Kaytee it's nice you have a date for your induction. Just think this time next week you will be having lots of lovely cuddles with a little babs! What a nice birthday present.

I'm sorry the privacy thing isn't as you would have it. I'm the opposite, although won't be announced on Facebook our mums, sisters (4 of them) and all our nieces and nephews (8 of them) all want to know!

My midwife told me to make a play list for when labour starts to keep me happy and keep my hips moving during contractions. I've just been downloading a lot of reggae to get me moving, lol. Now I just need a nice beach and pina colada in my hand to go with it!

AnnaT45 · 27/07/2016 18:26

pulp I remember that feeling. It's awful. I had the added pressure of fast approaching Christmas Day too lol! Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Do you know when they would induce you if not?

kaytee- bless you. Is there anyway you could say you've got a hospital app to your mum? Say you need 12 hour monitoring or something? Just to keep her at arms length? Maybe you'll go before!

lu I work with two people this happened too! Apparently it's quite common! I'm sure you'll be fine. Also personally it's not their sex that makes them it's their personalities so don't worry about bonding. I've not found out either time and am bonded just fine, plus I'm so excited to find out now!!!!

Had my consultant app today. I'm booked in for Monday! Got pre op Friday and then the weekend to get sorted! Crazy knowing when baby will arrive!!!

KayTee87 · 27/07/2016 19:35

Lula I might put together a playlist too :)

Anna I've just spoken to and told her and just explained that I don't want her worrying the whole time but that mu husband and I wouldn't be giving constant updates. I've texted her the whole process as I think she will feel more 'in control' that way but I told a fib and said it's likely to be a 3 day process rather than the 2 days the mw thought as I didn't want her getting anxious or pestering the hospital if we hadn't contacted her exactly when she was expecting. I think she feels a bit sorry for me X

KayTee87 · 27/07/2016 19:40

Anna I missed your last paragraph so does that mean your squish will be here on Monday then? Grin

Liz09 · 28/07/2016 06:43

Anna Happy you've got a date to meet bub! Hope your DD is feeling a bit better. Smile

(Hope I haven't missed any big news, but I'm so crap at keeping up with this thread!)

Just had my first sweep at 41+0. That was bloody uncomfortable. Quick, but more uncomfortable than I thought (not sure what I was expecting, tbh). But midwife is happy: 2/5 engaged and 3cm dilated. Grin Hopefully not too long now. Hoping the sweep nudges things along a little!

pulpi · 28/07/2016 10:40

Fingers crossed for you, Liz! I'm off for my second sweep in a few minutes.

DH is in full nesting mode. I'm lazying about the house, reading and drinking tea, and he's fussing with windows, dusting, and hoovering. If I'm not careful and stay still too long, he'll be coming at me with a bottle of disinfectant and a toilet scrub brush soon.

I'd feel a bit bad about not helping out too much around the house today, but for the fact that I'm now a week overdue but am still doing the laundry, the dishwasher, and going to the bathroom every 5 minutes.

41 weeks today.

dats · 28/07/2016 11:09

pulpi good luck! Although if second one doesn't work, maybe DH with the toilet brush isn't a bad plan? Grin

primarynoodle · 28/07/2016 11:13

Pulpi! Don't feel bad you're over 9 months pregnant and about to give birth!! It's the least dh can do! Grin

pulpi · 28/07/2016 12:28

Well I am well swept out now. DH still fussing about the house and he's forbidden me from doing anything. I think seeing my face while getting swept was a bit shocking and he's got a whole new appreciation for this late pregnancy business.

Booked in for an induction next Wednesday, but the midwife said I can always change my mind and ask for further monitoring instead.

tams13 · 28/07/2016 12:43

Fingers crossed this sweep was the one pulpi. I can sympathise with the frustration of getting to 41 weeks. I know it doesn't usually help to hear it but the extra week won't mean anything when little pulpi is here.

dats you crack me up with your diy induction suggestions. Next it will be climbing a pineapple tree while munching through a mountain of chillis.

AnnaT45 · 28/07/2016 15:06

Oh pulpi fingers crossed for you. It's so frustrating. Wednesday isn't too far along! I know someone who choose monitoring and she went 40+16! I just couldn't have waited that long so had an induction at +11. You've still got time!

kaytee I'm glad your mum is being supportive. I think on the day she'll be fine. Ultimately you can't be updating her constantly if nothing is happening or if you're in labour!

Yes I'm booked in for Monday! DD a bit better so in nursery. I got my hair done this morning and a wax so I'm feeling ready! Going to sort through hospital bag tomorrow and then I'll feel ready!

Had a few mild contractions earlier but have stopped! Consultant yesterday said baby was no longer engaged but apparently they can pop in and out! Explains the horrendous pressure I keep getting!

X

Cheery1 · 28/07/2016 19:41

All so exciting ladies - more little on their way very soon! These last few weeks are the longest though...can be so frustrating the waiting. Thinking of you all and sending 'come on baby' vibes - if nothing else to avoid resorting to toilet brushes!

Lulabells · 29/07/2016 15:47

Has anyone made any progress? I feel like I might be sat here on my own soon!! Still not a sniff of anything happening. I seem to cry every night at the moment when it's time for bed as I can't get comfy and my bump is still so high I could rest my bloody chin on it. Going to dtd tonight in desperation!

Is anyone out there still preggers?? Confused
