Weeonion - the nappy pattern is under Nappies, potty training etc. "cutting your own liners...why did it take me so long"
Sorry don't know how to link.
When expecting DD I made a rug, this time nappies, I just find it helps to have something mind numbing to do so that I don't dwell on things and think too much, also DH knew when he saw the rug come out to leave me alone for a while or i'd poke him with my latch hook

GMM - your samson is very handsome, bet he loved the bow

EllieK/Cazboldy I'm another chicken keeper (clue in the name), although I've a few less since DH took over the weekend feeding, two weekends in a row Mr and mrs fox + family have dined out on my girls

Flump - hope DD2 feels better soon, a nasty combination bronchitus/asthma (sp). I too only like overbump jeans, tucked nicely under my ample breast, lovely and snug and soooo sexy, no way will I be flashing anyone.

Take care everyone who's ill/down, keep warm, and relax and make a rug!!!

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2007 14:00

Awwww, Geordie honey - [[hugs]] You've got a lot on your plate atm, sweetie - You need some TLC and Love. Did it feel good to get that stuff off of your chest?? Always helps me to talk about stuff if poss - and obviously, eat loads of chocolate!! I am sooooo glad you are here on our thread, sharing your highs and lows with us - Praise God for the Blue Bean in your tummy; but I am for the wee little one you lost too. He / she is special and important as well. It is right that you should feel sad. [hugs]

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2007 14:01

Ooooh, my outlaws are going to NZ to se BIL, wife and DS for a month on Thursday - Perhaps it is a conspiracy!!!!?

glitterkitty · 23/01/2007 14:03

GMM- so sorry to hear about your horrible weekend. hugs

What a wanker! (the bloke directing ur dp) You must have been sooo annoyed! How did you stop yourself clumping him one?

As for dp plans- mine was like that too- I had to start refusing to do stuff (all very petty & tit for tat) or going out deliberatly when he wanted us to do something together. It did work in the end. Was really boring and annoying doing it tho.

Whendoobygotstuckupthechimney · 23/01/2007 14:05

Bloody Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you are all ok.
Off to catch up again and will change my name back at some point.
Look after yerselves ladies.
Does anyone know the difference between a spinal and an epidural...Having section and have had epidural before but i think my BP dropped dramatically.Just wondered if any of you know the difference?
I can't stop eating noodles and drinking milk!

flumppootle · 23/01/2007 14:08

Big hugs Gmm.
What an awful weekend. Very sorry to hear about your first baby.
Rant away!!! and eat chocolate!!!!

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2007 14:10

Hi Dooby! Good to have you back hon!! There was a spinal / epidural explaination on this thread recently - I'll try and find it for you .....

geordiemacminx · 23/01/2007 14:12

Thanks for being so kind... had a few little kicks, just to remind my that he loves his mammy very much and is getting ncie and big and strong in there!!

Hmmmm I happen to know there is a mint aero in the choc machine downstairs... when I summon up the energy to go and get it!!!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 23/01/2007 14:13

Big hugs GMM xoxoxoxox

CD - thanks for telling us about your scbu experience - my nephew was in for a week when he was born - won't go into it for first timers sake though! It just amazes me what miracles they can work and how dedicated they are. My heart really goes out to new parents whose babies need special care.

On a lighter note, I have found new name for hamburger - now called a kebab! ROFL

Would BigOnions mind going food shopping for me please?

flumppootle · 23/01/2007 14:17

Sol, I know what you mean about it being weird when parents are away. I keep going to pick up the phone and then remember that they are not there
Very glad to have found mn and this thread though keeps me sane

Hi dooby.
Gmm can you get a choc aero for me please????? Might aswell let my backside hang completely out of these jeans until my new ones arrive

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 23/01/2007 14:18

Dooby - spinal is a one off injection - epidural is ongoing one which they top up. I would go for spinal personally! They will squirt you with special spray to make sure you can't feel anyting before they start - though am sure mine did start before then and they were doing it to distract me

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2007 14:22

Mmmmmmm, Mint Choc Areo - Mmmmmmm .... Me too, please!!

12weeksandcounting · 23/01/2007 14:23

Have changed name - and yes it will change next week!

Bramshott · 23/01/2007 14:23

Oh bloody hell, I have just set my smoke alarm off!! Thought I would stick some dried fruit on to simmer for a fruitcake so it could be doing while I was working upstairs, only I forgot about it until the smoke alarm went off. Bloody saggy pregnant brain!

So now I have:

  1. All doors and windows open to try and let the smoke out, but letting freezing air in.
  2. Ruined pan with burnt-on fruit and sugar.
  3. Undoubtedly a pissed of DH when he comes home and finds out what I have done.
  4. And most importantly NO FRUIT CAKE . . .

Bollocks.

12weeksandcounting · 23/01/2007 14:23

Oh and its BBCK!

Aero mint choc - yummmmmyyyyyy!

hotlipsmummy · 23/01/2007 14:28

Crikey ladies you can chat!! Can't remember what I've read in detail but ((hugs)) to those feeling sad, overwhelmed etc etc at the moment. Part of me thinks pg is too long as you have all that time to worry! Being a 2nd timer I've found that worries aren't lessened, just different as now I'm worrying about DS, how he will adjust etc as well mas about the new one. Last night had a vivid dream about labour and needing a cs . I agree though that a pratical approach is best and its better not to worry about things until they happen.

On the cat front - we have 2 ginger toms who were the love of my life before DS. Both my mum and mil have cats so not really any pressure there to get rid of them. DH is worried about illness tho so whilst pg he clears up all puke, poo and wee (not that there's much). Ds LOVES them and i agree that pets are good for kids - altho he's now at an age where terrorising them is the best fun (nearly 20 months).

DS's bum looks a bit better - not as red and the spots seem to have dried up if that makes sense - his skin is a little flakey?? But i noticed 3 spots with "heads" on his neck last night and this morning he has a few more - disgnosed by my neighbours as chicken pox!! None on his torso yet which is where I thought it started?? Will see f there's anymore after his nap.

btw - any suggestions for boys names to go with Harrison (ds)? DH has vetoed every name on my list although he quite likes some of my girl's names. Fingers crossed for a girl then I suppose... Boys names i like include Asher, Conrad, Aaron, Taylor, Luca, Mason. Dh thinks they are too "American" - his way of describing anything too modern or unusual!!!

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2007 14:37

Bramshott. Mate. Bugger.

Hotlips - Mmmmmm, to go with Harrison? I like Asher and Luca from the list you typed. How about Solomon? I've no idea where that just from .. Asher is a cool name.

What do people think of my choices btw? Arthur for a boy and Phoebe for girl? Never had an response last time I posted them, getting a bit paranoid now ..

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2007 14:38

What is your girl's choice hotlips btw??

12weeksandcounting · 23/01/2007 14:40

Hotlips - sounds like chickenpox to me! I am going to ask to get checked for chickenpox immunity tomorrow as having bloods done anyway.

I like Luca too - cute

I have been lent the virgin book of names - is actually quite good - still really on Joe but also like Monty and Rex - any thoughts?

12weeksandcounting · 23/01/2007 14:41

Bramshott - I cooked a fish pie for and hour and a half last week while browsing on mn! Wasn't too distraught - but CAKE is completely different . Am getting worried that GTT will come back positive and choc will be banned

geordiemacminx · 23/01/2007 14:42

How about callum, connor, eric, fraser, elliot, ewen, dillon, hadley, kyle, lewis evan? All your names were lovely too btw, I just know what its like when dp vitos every name that you suggest but wont suggest anything reasonable!!!

Love phoebe and arthur, think this little one is going to be charlie william.

flumppootle · 23/01/2007 14:43

Bramshott - nightmare! Dont suppose chocolate would do instead?

Like Luca - thats cute. (really like the name Harrison)
CD - love arthur and Phoboe. My Abigail would have been a Phoboe but it is too similar to our surname and made her sound like a whiskey -lol.

Off to pick dd1 IN the car, Battleknickers ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12weeksandcounting · 23/01/2007 14:45

dh likes arthur but he doesn't watch eastenders LOL

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 23/01/2007 14:46

GMM, I am so sorry to hear you are feeling low. Never apologise for having a selfish rant - this is what this place is for. I never knew that you had a lost a baby before, and I am really sorry to have read that.

Re the car and van, grrr!

Re arrangements, my dh is the same. Just goes off arranging things left, right and centre and then claims to have run it past me first. We may be going to the Liverpool match too, although I HATE football. We are supposed to be going with 2 other couples. I told dh I didn't want to go - I imagine the ticket is quite pricey, and I would rather spend my money on something else. He got huffy and said I wouldn't get to see the friends we are going with. We will, as we are staying overnight in Liverpool, so plenty of opportunities.

Anyway, I hope your mint aero has helped a little. Big hugs to you.

Bramshott, very sorry to hear about your cake fiasco. I did have a chuckle to myself (not in a nasty way I hasten to add). You should have called the fire brigade out. MMMMMMM, firemen .

Hotlips, sorry to hear ds is poorly too - so much going around at the moment. Roll on the good weather!

geordiemacminx · 23/01/2007 14:49

Oooh well if you give in and go, and I give in and go we could maybe meet for a pint before hand? I presume dh is a red so will probably be in the same pubs as us.. the standing or the albert or some other dive!!
