GMM, pmsl at the possible conversation at the check in desk! Hilarious!!
I never forget being too honest at the airport once - all I said was that I was borrowing my mums hairdryer, and they had my bags unpacked as quick as a flash! This was years ago. My fellow flyers were none too pleased with me.

Liath, your poor sister! She must me going mad. Lol at the vision of her dh with his gloves on a la James Herriot- ewwwwwww!

Bramshott, glad you are feeling a bit brighter - lovely to have unexpected time free of child isn't it!

Hi 11 weeks, what a piat about your boiler. I think we need a new one, but have been told it will cost about £2,500 as it is not just a case of slapping a new boiler on the wall - would need a new water tank etc etc.
Really cannot afford that at the moment.

Right, nearly time to pack up from work and head home - hurrah! Such a boring day again here. Part of me wants to pack in, but I need the money, and it can be fun!

Catch you later.

Liath - your poor sister. I've got that James Herriot image now too though , added to the one of Maveta's sisters getting frisked at customs with all the baby gear!

where is everyone??????

zazas · 29/01/2007 17:32

Good luck Cd on your driving test!

No cravings here either although tempted to make some up just so DP can feel very useful rushing to the shop to get me chocolate dipped strawberries or something! He likes doing things like that for me - sweet.

Just met my doula this afernoon that I am hoping to use with my birth. We clicked which was a relief - feel that if she tells me that I am doing OK in labour I will listen and believe her! Still hoping to have the homebirth but have to jump through a few hoops because of a previous c section but are pretty well armed with information! Once that is confirmed (next week hopefully) I feel I can relax somewhat and focus a bit more. Very tempted to also have the doula visit after the birth - she ran through what she does - sounds bliss to have that support. My DP will have to be straight back at the office and I have no family around and with 2 / 4 kids - I will need it - won't I ????

www.vertbaudet.co.uk is great for basics and pretty cute clothes as well - they do loads of discount offers as the season progresses - well worth having a look!

Hello everyone
Well we have someone coming to look at the house in 35 mins so have been rushing round with the hoover. Does anyone else find that when you go to sell your house you realise how lovely it is (probably because it's all tidy!) and want to stay?
CD - good luck with your test tomorrow! Do you still have morning sickness then? (Sorry if that's a stupid question!)
No cravings here really - in the first 15 or so weeks I craved celery and salad, but I think that was because I always felt so ill and it's light, refreshing and cold, rather than a 'real' craving if you see what I mean. DH has been very disappointed as he was looking forward to cooking me a steak (I've been a vegi since age 8).
11weeks - thanks for the sling recommendation, I've still not got round to doing anything about that yet
And would you believe I'm ill again - same as before, headache and sore throat. Not as bad as last time, and thanks to whoever told me I'm passing lots of immunities on to the baby, it's the only thing cheering me up! Anyway, will try not to cough or sneeze near the laptop so you all don't get it too.

liath · 29/01/2007 18:04

Go for it, zazas - I've booked a doula for 6 weeks after the birth though not for the birth itself. After going it alone first time I'm not going to make the same mistake twice, even if it means paying for help.

Katy44 · 29/01/2007 18:09

Oh, I'm reading a pregnancy book at the moment which says that after an uncomplicated vaginal birth you should be 'up and walking about 6 hours later'.
6 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that right? I expect to be exhausted etc but TBH I was kind of planning on going home not long after that never mind getting out of bed for the first time!
(BTW That's in my 'ideal' birth, which I know I'm unlikely to get and if I do I'll be very lucky!)

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 29/01/2007 18:21

Hello! Oh a Doula, that sounds good. I am beginning to wonder how I will manage, even though will only have Becky and this one. Just B is so demanding even at nearly 4. She has come home in a right bolshy mood and knocked tea on me and over a beautiful silk cushion - not happy.
Also come home to find the bloody dishwasher isn't draining - scream!!!! Typically it was guaranteed for 12 months, and we have had it for 15. I am hoping it is something simple, but it is just an added pita to arrange someone to come out and look at it, plus the expense of it. There is always something. I know it is trivial in the grand scheme of things but it drives me mad!
Katy, hope the viewing goes well.

Can anyone clever start a new thread please??

Katy44 · 29/01/2007 18:29

I would, but I need inspiration for the name

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2007 18:35

Hi everyone

Glad everyone had a good time at the SE meet up can't wait to see the photos.

DH excelled himself this weekend - not only did he fix the washing machine (yay!) but he also fixed our dishwasher cue one very happy runny habbit. (long story but our dishwasher had been out of action for over a month, because a certain "spicy" electrical shop were being complete arses over repairing it. very and it's only 18 mths old!)

SOSPL (and anyone else with boiler problems) ? dh knew that there was something wrong with our combi boiler, and we could only get about 2 mins of hot water for bath or shower. So sneakily, he signed up to one of those home care plans, for about £15 per month, with the intention of cancelling it a month or 2 after the repair [naughty emoticon] 6 wks later he reported the fault (I was about 6mths pregnant) they came out, repaired it and serviced the central heating. He was so impressed with the service, that we?ve kept the agreement running.

CD ? lots of luck for your driving test

The only plus about JJMB is free p&p, regardless of how big the order is. And their warehouse shop is about 30mins from me

GMM ? love the pics You had a bargain. Think my friend paid around £250 for hers.

Good to hear about a book on b/f. Think I will be ordering it this week. And for all the advice on slings.

Maveta ? no real advice on the cats, but just picture ourselves in 18 years time when we?re having this moan about our children lol

I'm sure I've missed something.....oh well, blame it on the hormones

xx

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2007 18:40

sospl - have you tried contacting the shop you bought it from, for a free repair? maybe if you went in there in person, they might repair it as goodwill (esp being pregnant!) if they don't, try consumer direct. very helpful, but tbh we were getting cheesed off with the shop dragging their arses over it.
