Hello EmmyMummy! Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow too!! When you email me your mobile no, I'll text you and then we'll have each others nos!! I have Bramshott's and she has mine, so we should be ok to meet up without pink carnations!!

I have absolutely no idea where we are going with we get to Southampton!! I as just hoping to step off the train and see a bunch of fat women and accost them, TBH!! We'll be fine if we stick together (not too closely though cos we'll never get out of the train doors!! )

Emmymummy · 26/01/2007 10:45

Oh good that sounds like a plan! Do you think the restaurant will be able to cope with our enormous appetites?

Have emailed my no. to you.

Am off work today, Emily is at school, Mark is at work - yippeee, a whole day to myself. Am still in my dressing gown.... now where is the chocolate?

maveta · 26/01/2007 11:08

very of the meet up tomorrow, hope you all have a great time!

MIABT - unfortunately the last time we left him to figure it out he went missing for almost 3 weeks! I don´t know how he gets into this garden but he seems incapable of going out the way he came in. I am sure we won´t get rid of him - or at least I would hope it doesn´t come to that. He is young, 2 years old, maybe he´ll grow some sense. He´s already asking to go out again!!!

Am now all wrapped up in my armchair with blanket over me, calor gas fire at my feet (no central heating) and electric blanket in the small of my back.. think I might have a doze...

CaptainDippy · 26/01/2007 11:32

@ all of you with child-free days - My two are gorgeous though, so shouldn't complain too much, eh!!?

Enjoy your relaxing ......

EmmyMummy - Have texted you my No, so hope you get it ok!!

claricebean · 26/01/2007 11:39

CD - that's the problem. My P&T is in lock position and I want it in swivel!! Can't take it out for a test run until I can get that sorted as, as you say, it's a PITA to drive otherwise.

MIABT - thanks for your kind words. It's nice to get some cyber encouragement!! I am feeling a bit better today. My Granny lives in Dumfries (think it was you that said you were from there) so we have spent holidays there since childhood. Two of my aunts live on farms just outside (Dalbeattie and nr Lochmaben). No haggis here though (difficult to get hold of in Spain!!).

Malveta - thanks too. Hope you're feeling better and enjoying putting your feet up.

Liath - how's your sis?

I have 9 weeks and 5 days till my EDD - single figures!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 26/01/2007 11:43

Morning all.

Liath, your poor sister, I bet she is hopping mad. Fingers crossed that it all kicks off soon.

CB - really sorry to hear you had a tough time last night. I do not know how you cope. I had tears last night too. Was just soooo tired, Becky kept demanding things, and then she picked up the cat and plonked him on me and he got his claws stuck in my leg which hurt like hell. I just yelled and then wept like a baby! Poor Becky was a bit shocked, and she kissed me where I had got scratched - bless her heart. Felt so guilty after that, but she has forgotten about it.

Maveta, sorry to hear you are poorly. And that your cat is playing up again! They are a handful aren't they! Big hugs to you.

Pesha, sorry to hear your ds is poorly, and I hope he gets better soon.

Becky is still under the weather, and I think she has the beginnings of Impetigo which she had before Christmas. Managed to get a Dr's appointment this afternoon which is a bloody miracle. Just don't want it to get worse, as she won't be able to go to preschool Monday or Tuesday annd I cannot afford to take time off - the joys eh!

Ok, re meet up tomorrow ladies. It is at:

Piccolo Mondo, 36 Windsor Terrace, SO14 7SJ. The phone number is 02380 636890. The table is booked for 12.30 under "Claire".

Can I suggest (for those of you coming on the train together) that one of you looks at multimap - just put in the postcode and it should bring it all up. It looks to be about 5-10 mins from the train station. For those driving, there are quite a few car parks around.

God, so exciting. Also quite scary - like going on a blind date!!

Right, need to get on with my paid job!
See you later. x

geordiemacminx · 26/01/2007 11:57

Morning all... hope you are all ok.

Sorry so many of you have poorly rugrats...and are feeling down..sending you lots of cyberhugs{{{{}}}}}}

I'm feeling remarkably good today, despite having a rubbish nights sleep.. keep getting pains in my calf, almost like they have gone to sleep if that makes sense.. its ok if I get up and have a little walk, or put them on the end of the bed.. very strange!!!

Has anyone got any plans for the weekend?

I'm off to see my mum tomorrow, and to a friends engagement party tomorrow night. Have also been very naughty and booked a wee 4d scan at a place near mums.... wasnt going to bother, but well its £95, and the chances are this will probably be our only little one, and I got some money back from the bank last week so...I booked it.. can you tell I'm trying to justify this?

Has anyone else thought about having one? I will post the pics up on Sunday!!

Pesha · 26/01/2007 11:57

Ds is not well, went out to lloyds pharmacy and got digital head thermometer thing. His temp was 38.8 gave him 10ml of calpol and then 40 mins later is up to 39.6 And when he got up to go toilet earlier he came back shaking uncontrollably saying he was freezing with goosebumps all up his arms. He's still insisting he's not poorly though! Im just having some lunch and he's had tiny bit of marmite sarnie then will check his temp again, if its still not going down I'll ring drs. He always does this, he cant just be a little bit ill he's either fine or really bad!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 26/01/2007 12:14

GMM, the scan sounds great, and £95 sounds good value tbh. I have seen them advertised for a lot more than that. How exciting!

Pesha, your poor ds.

Becky had a really high temp a while ago (39+). It lasted for a few days, and then she came out in a rash. I think it is called Roseola Infantum. The fever lasts for about 3 days, and then when the rash appears, the fever drops off. The rash is usually on their trunk (chest and back).

It might not be that, but this is what it was with B when her temp was sky high.

Hugs to you.

hotlipsmummy · 26/01/2007 13:16

Goodness loads of sick little ones! Hope everyone is coping ok. DS is still in the throws of chicken pox. So far so good - not really itchy and isn't really ill in himself. Today has been the most difficult day - he keeps saying "sore" and is on a very short tether, like he can't cope. Been wearing for me but I do feel for him, the little mite! He's dead bored being stuck at home with just mummy for company as am I!!). Plus being all hormonal I'm not coping with life very well either!

Hope those who had the grumps yesterday are feeling a bit more up beat soon too. Entering the 3rd trimester seems to have really made a difference!!

Our listing of the pramette on eBay ended yesterday evening. Sold the accessories for good prices but the buggy didn't reach the reserve so hasn't sold. In the meantime 1 of DH's friends who were thinking about buying it from us have bought a new one grrr! Don't know that many other first-timers in RL (most are on their 2nds!) so will prob relist it in a week or so... Pain as I was looking forward to getting it out the house!!

geordiemacminx · 26/01/2007 13:55

Have you tried putting it on the for sale section on here? Worth a try, especially as its free?

I was bidding on a wilkinet but it ended up going for £35, they are only £45 new so I wasnt too fussed to be honest!!

On the plus side, just been out for a fab chinese buffet... salt and chilli chips, beef curry, onion rings, pineapple fritters... amazing!!! On the down side... another 3 hours at work!!!

Bramshott · 26/01/2007 14:30

Rushing madly this afternoon, but just wanted to say to SOSPL - see you there! I've printed off a multimap page and am coming on the train with Captain Dippy and Emmymummy. We will find you.

flumppootle · 26/01/2007 15:03

Just popping in quickly because still feeling bleurgh . Been up ALL night with ds who also has the lurgy and just want to put my head down on the pc and sleep. No chance with my three about!

CB - sorry to hear about last night. Its exhausting looking after lo's on your own, I dont know how you manage for such long lengths of time. You sound like a fab mummy to me

Maveta hope you enticed your mum over to entertain you.

Bugmum, owww to sinus/teeth trouble. My sister suffers from that aswell, apparently due to the size of the sinus gap above the teeth. I see how much she suffers and feel for you

Pesha, hope ds feels better soon

GMM very of 4d scan. They look amazing and £95 is a bargain! Cant wait to seee the pictures.

MIAB, love the names my dh is a Stuart and his doen't get shortened. I am going to use Stuart as a middle name and currently like Declan or Dermot for a first

Hope that you all have a ball at the SE meet up (I thought that it was last week )
Would still love to see some pictures

AngeG · 26/01/2007 15:47

Hi all

Sorry I haven't had time to catch up.

Got my fasting blood test results yesterday and I don't have gestational diabetes

Jake was much better behaved yesterday. He's not really very well either today so as I expected that hasn't helped.

I am still on for the meet up tomorrow. Will meet you all there if that's ok? Unless people need picking up from the train station? not sure how far it is and weather might be horrible! Will try and find CD email address and email you my mobile number. Just in case.

Bye for now xx

weeonion · 26/01/2007 16:05

hi folks. havent done a proper post for a few days. been lurking and reading tho'. we all seem a bit glum and / riddled with poorliness and sicky LOs. end of the winter? or end of trimester 2?

didnt really want to add to gloom and do a "woe is me" kinda post but .. here goes a long one...

went for antenatal on wed. dont really like going but have been ok as MW is nice. different MW - nurse manager this time and they had lost my notes. another consultant - not my own - had them. meant i had to go through all the AND with this one. I mentionned not alot of movement so she had a good poke at my tummy - said LO was head down - good news but couldnt get LO to move. I was packed off for a CTG and a scan. 4 hrs later (!!!!) - i saw consultant who is worried about size. 28 weeks but LO is coming in at around 24 / 25. i dont smoke, havent touched a single drop of booze so dont know why. also scan showed that LO is transverse - not inspiring much confidence in MW and her tummy feeling. I got a lecture on my stressful job, long working days and commuting. felt really crap and bad - as if it is all my fault. didnt leave me with any advice as what to do and just sent me off.

i have to go to antenatal on my own as dp cant get off work and my family arent around and after a 5 hr sesion i felt truly awful. dp then makes a joke about it being ok as labour will be easy. GRRRRRR

felt pretty low all week.
sorry to offload when u all are feeling low / grumpy/ poorly. did anyone here have a small for weeks baby and did it catch up pre-birth??

AngeG · 26/01/2007 16:15

WeeOnion what a horrible appointment sorry honey.

What have they decided to do next? Did they not give you any more appointments? Can you ring and get some advice from the mw you like?

Some babies are naturally small and they all grow differently. I don't imagine it's anything you have done. I had a similar experience with Jake. He was small and stopped growing at 28wks, he didn't have enough fluid either, did they mention anything about fluid levels on your scan? He was born by c-section at 34wks small but absolutly fine. Try not to worry, I know easier said than done. Sending lots of [[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]] to you. xx

claricebean · 26/01/2007 16:17

wo - hugs. Sorry about your appt. It seems a bit rubbish that they didn't offer any advice. Are they doing a follow up? When are you planning on starting maternity leave?

I remember with DD2 I had a stressful job with loads of travelling. My GP measured me a bit small for dates (a week or two) and told me I should stop travelling outside London and that she would write to my employer to say that if necessary. I was delighted. I told my employer and they were fine about it and I had a much easier last four weeks at work.

geordiemacminx · 26/01/2007 16:23

Awh babes, I really feel for you... that sounds horrible!!!

Do we know how accurate the scans are? Have they given you a follow up appointment?

I know how stressful you are finding things at the moment, and how hard you work.. god, I hop into the car, drive for 10 minutes, work 9 til 5 and I am absolutely worn out so it must be torture for you!! Having said that, them lecturing you is only going to make you feel worse, not help the situation any. Is there any way you can alter you working hours a bit? Or start and use some of your leave? Even if you just had a day off a week until you start on maternity?

I'm sure the little one is fine in there, she's just going to be a little lady as opposed to the brusier that I seem to be incubating at the moment... stupid woman at car garge came up to me yesterday and said "goodness you look ready to burst"... like I would buy a car from her after that!!! Perhaps eating more chocolate would help

Fraser was insensitive, he obviously went to the same tact school as Billy, but I guess sometimes when they dont know what to say its easier to make a joke.. blokes and their feelings eh?? I really dont think you should have to go to another appointment by yourself, I'm sure employers are obliged to allow time off? And once I finish at the end of Feb I can come with you, if you would like.

Make sure you have a relaxing weekend babes, treat yourself.. go and have a pop in the flotation tank at the rainbow rooms or something?

Right I'm rambling now. You know where I am if you need me.
