Hiya, Bugmum, you haven't been away that long for us to have forgotten you!

That picture doesn't look quite right does it?

Well, am totally done in and counting down the minutes until dh is back from work and can take over!

Runny, have you had your cholestasis result back?

MIABT, sorry to hear your dh was a bit off. No sexual favours until he washes up then! Maybe that's why my dh isn't washing up! I have not the energy or the flexibility for any of that nonsense!

Tili, Happy Birthday!!!

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2007 17:55

I've found some more info on the pic ......

here

and here!

Maybe it is true ... Wow!!

Katy44 · 25/01/2007 18:04

GMM - thanks for the recommendation - will also look on ebay but I'll avoid the one you're bidding on! (Really wanted to get it on ebay as I have £5 to spend )
CNb - sorry to hear you're in pain

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 25/01/2007 18:15

Grrr, dh just phoned to say he is just leaving now, and it takes at least an hour to get home. Bugger!!!!!!

12weeksandcounting · 25/01/2007 18:18

OMG that picture! Scary but cute.

Seriously considering going on maternity leave from tomorrow - could take sick leave but can't be arsed with it all - am quite pleased getting nine months pay anyway and not planning to go back so won't make a huge difference.

Katy - I have a huggababy and ellaroo deluxe sling - both great - have a look at www.littlepossums.co.uk - then ebay!! I would quite like a ellaroo lightly padded sling in the garden print - think have mentioned it before ! I had a bjorn sling with the first two - was fine but like these better.

Happy Birthday Tili

Welcome back bugmum

Signing off for evening - need early night zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Bugmum · 25/01/2007 19:57

Birdiebump - I am okay, thanks, although am having dental problems that the dentist claims are sinus, and I find it really, really hard to think of anything else when the tooth (or indeed sinus) pain comes on. Then my dentist told me (and he knows I am a nervous patient, as well as being hormonal) of a man he knows with chronic sinus whose problems have got so bad he can't work and has to have a hole drilled in his head . So you can imagine what I've been dwelling on since then.

But otherwise, you know: fat and old

geordiemacminx · 25/01/2007 20:06

I got the same info with it too.. looks like it is true... ner ner ner na na {sticks tounge out at captin dippy emoticon}... just kidding!!

It reminds us what a truely remarakble world we live in eh??

liath · 25/01/2007 20:25

Bugmum - slightly tactless dentist you have! BTW, my BIL had dreadful problems with his sinuses & nothing medical ever helped then he had reflexology & it was sorted!! I'm quite sure reflexology helped my fertility problems too so am a bit of a fan!

Incredible pic, GMM. My other sister (the one who's not trying - fruitlessly - to get into labour) is booked to have her baby at King's in London where apparently they are pioneering lots of surgical stuff in the womb - amazing what can be done (not that you'd want to be in the situation of needing it done...).

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 25/01/2007 20:51

Oh Liath, your poor sister not dropped yet then.

Interesting tip about reflexology. I suffer with sinuses and don't really want top have them drained as that is supposed to be horrific.

Very quiet on here tonight - where is everyone!!

EllieK · 25/01/2007 21:02

was just thinking how quiet it is

maybe we can come up with some more trult bizarre conversations to coax them all out

OP posts:
Bugmum · 25/01/2007 21:22

Liath - thanks for that tip! I think you aren't meant to have reflexology in pregnancy? Unless you are using it to go into labour if you are overdue, that is. But will definitely investigate afterwards.

EllieK · 25/01/2007 21:35

Hi Bugmum
I have Reflexology and have looked into the pg thing, it's not recommended during the 1st 3 months and you should make sure you go to a registered practitioner who is aware you are pg, but otherwise it's perfectly safe from 3 months onwards x

Bugmum · 25/01/2007 22:17

Thanks, EllieK. I am another East Anglia person, by the way

EllieK · 25/01/2007 22:34

excellent! whereabouts are you?

OP posts:
EllieK · 25/01/2007 22:35

and wow! i'm well chuffed, have just managed to successfully copy photos from my phone onto my Mumsnet profile!!!!!!

OP posts:
IsabellyMoi · 25/01/2007 22:53

Hi Bugmum - it doesn't seem that long since we heard from you...of course we all remember you! Welcome back

Bubblez: Re. weight gain: I'm consistently told how small I am and hear things like "Oh! You're already 29 weeks?! Your bump is so tiny!" I'm eating well and feeling good and my measurements (however accurate they are) are in the normal zone so I'm not worrying (well, not too much anyway!).

FANTASTIC news about the scan, Liath!!

Can't imagine trying to feel my cervix - sounds painful to me

I looked around my desk for a measuring tape or ruler - no luck so no measurements from me. But my nips aren't spectacular enough for me to be in the running to win the prize anyway...

Tonight, I went to the first in a series of 5 antenatal pilates classes that I signed up for. Not sure how much good it did but nice to do a special antenatal class all the same. The others who were signed up didn't show up, so I got 1:1 instruction!

Hope tomorrow is a happier, sunnier, brighter, better day for all who had glum days today.

muminabigtumi · 26/01/2007 08:27

Its...F F F FRIDAY!!! [GRIN]

Thank goodness! Just had no energy to post last night at all...watched Waterloo Road and then went to bed.
Isabellymoi - hurray for your 1:1 pilates class - I think I would have been too embarrased to carry on on my own so well done you!
I can't even get in and out of bed without a struggle so really admire you doing the class. I really enjoyed Aqua Natal classes last time round but am unable to go just now as I work when they are on...also difficult when already have James to get someone to have him whilst I go.

great pics EllieK - especially the one of you and Matthew together - absolutley fab!

Not much to report here - feeling a bit wishy washy this morning...can't quite put my finger on it. Just popped a spanish omellette int he oven that I am having for lunch when it is cool as my Mum is coming over...like to try and make a bit of an effort to give her a nice lunch on Fridays as a big thank you for having James for me. I would be lost without her. Amazing really since we were not really that close before I had James...he has definatley brought us closer together.

Had a breakthrough on the names front last night. Had bought Prima Baby Mag which has a free names book in it. So I went through and marked all the boys names I liked and Phil then came up to bed and we actually had a "discussion" about which ones we liked and for what reason etc.

I've still not won the Callum, Cameron battle and I don't think he is going to budge but he has agreed to either Mark or Stewart....
I like both...Stewart more than Mark at the moment (athough worried about Stew Pot and Stewie etc as nicknames) but also really like Mark as well.
So it looks like either a Mark Robert Reucroft or a Stewart Richard Reucroft (if it's a boy of course!) What do you think?....

Ah well best do something to entertain the little man...if I have to read Charlie and Lola "I am not sleepy and I will not go to bed" I swear I shall SCREEEEEEEEEEEEAM! lol
x

liath · 26/01/2007 09:22

Poor poor sister - stopped leaking overnight so now the hospital say not to bother going in as presumably it's a hindwater leak that's sealed itself! So it's back to waiting (or induction next thursday if nothing happens). So am off down to keep her company!

Have a good day everyone.

claricebean · 26/01/2007 09:47

Morning all,

Off to read the thread in a minute but thought I'd ask for some P&T advice in the meantime. How do you change the front wheel from lock to swivel? Have read the instructions and am non the wiser - what silver button, what cap?

Had a complete meltdown moment at bedtime last night. It was just all too much. First time I felt like I really wasn't coping since DH's been away. I was shouting at the kids at bedtime even though they hadn't really done anything wrong - usually manage to get through the day without shouting. By the time I was doing DS's bedtime story the tears were running down my face. He's only 2 and he looked at me and then put his head on my chest. So cute. I felt they deserved a better mummy than me. Sigh.

Hope you're all OK - going to read what I've missed now.

Pesha · 26/01/2007 09:49

Hello all

Tili - belated happy birthday for yesterday, hope you had a good day

Well the boy is ill had red gunky eyes and all snuffly last night then woke up at half 9 talking about being afraid of things and the cooker (toy one!) having chicken pops and pointing at things in the dark! He was burning up and does tend to hallucinate when he has a high temp, first time he did it he was about 1 and a half, temp of over 40 and was talking very calmly to the walls, scared the life out of me! Anyway i then spent over an hout searching for the thermometer but cant find it anywhere. Luckily ive got quite good over the years at telling their temp by touch. Pretty sure he was up to 40 a few times in the night and dont think it went back down to normal till this morning despite me dosing him with calpol and nurofen alternatively through the night. When dd got up this morn she said she was going downstairs and he leapt up to go too so i said nathans poorly and he turned round and shot me an evil look and said 'What?! Im not ' and ran off down to watch telly! Not eaten his breakfast though and not moved off the sofa but he's drinking quite well which is good, he ended up in hospital last year with dehydration cos i couldnt get him to drink with a high temp.
Might have to go buy a new thermometer though, Im sure i remember seeing a thermoscan one on offer recently but cant remember where, anyone know?

maveta · 26/01/2007 10:03

Claricebean - sorry to hear you didn´t have the best of nights (understatement?!) it must be so hard to cope on your own and I am sure you are doing it all a million time better than you give yourself credit for.

Liath - for your sis, how disappointing for her.

I feel horrible today so have decided not to go to work. Just feel exhausted, it´s mostly a head cold with quite a chesty cough but with such a blocked nose and already compressed lungs, I´m finding it quite hard to breathe. Keep thinking I should do SOMETHING i.e housework while I´m here but I just can´t be bothered. Going to be a boring day unless my Mum comes to entertain me (going to work on that shortly) as there´s nothing on tv and I´ve got no dvds. hmm. what to do, what to do.

My escape artist cat (the original) went out last night AGAIN and got stuck on top of a wall inside the same old garden he always got stuck in, the one that is all locked up. Anyway, he couldn´t get down as we realised when we went to look for him this morning. Ended up having to get the police to find the owner to let us in. I am at my wits end with this cat, I really do not know what to do. A while ago we did discuss the possibility of finding a home with a big garden for him if this kept happening and dh said today he thinks it might come to that . I really really don´t want to get rid of him, he´s such a joy and has a wonderful personality but he´s so STUPID and I can´t imagine going out every other day to rescue him when I have the baby. Besides, all of our neighbours´ and the police´s goodwill is bound to run out sooner or later.

muminabigtumi · 26/01/2007 10:18

Oooh dear - what a bunch we are!
Claricebean - I so sympathise with you - I can relate to how you feel and the fact that that is the first time you have been reduced to tears like that is a testament to your strength - it's quite a regular occurance for me at the moment. You are a brilliant Mummy and to cope on your own - well I admire you and you deserve the biggest rest when your DH gets back!
Pesha - so sorry that you had a bad night - it has a hideous knock on effect when you have had sucha broken night. Don't know about the thermoscan thermom I'm afraid but glad he is brighter this morning and I hope you mamage to take it easy today as you will be tired too.
Maveta - re your cat....I don't really know what...my cat used to be like that when we moved here - he used to get himsefl stuck on the porch roof and howl until we got him down (Phil had to get ladders out etc) and a few times we had neighbours knocking on to say the cat was stuck. In the end...I know cats are v intelligent and given time I think they work stuff out for themselves. I remember just thinking "well he got up so he can get himself down"...I even had to tell a neighbour politley that I was not rescuing the cat as he had to learn to get back for himself. I have to say it did work...although a few hours howling was difficult to endure. I don't know if that is something you could try?? I understand I have no idea as to how dangerous his situation may be? Just seems such a shame that you may have to rehome him...hug
Just had a delivery from Mothercare of my nursing bras and top and breast pads! lol I got my bag out and have put them in it....just going to start collecting bits together in it...just in case!!!

Laith - what a shame for your poor sister - nothing more frustrating I don't think....glad she has your company...maybe get some good girly DVD's and a big box of malteasers....would pass a few hours!

28 weeks today!
x

muminabigtumi · 26/01/2007 10:20

well the DVD's would pass a few hours...the malteasers would prob last me 30 secs!!!
x

CaptainDippy · 26/01/2007 10:20

Sorry you are feeling yukky Maveta honey! [hugs] Sorry that your DS is poorly sick too, Pesha. DD's both still full of yukky cold, DD2 really suffering, v.screamy and horrid - up a lot in the night needing settling and both got up obscenely early this morning! Bleurgh! Happily, I am feeling much better and more positive in myself today, which is good!! Hope my DD's, your DS (Pesha) and you (Maveta) and anyone else feeling crappy, feels heaps better sooooooon!!

Sorry to hear about Dental problems Bugmum, no fun! My Wisdom Teeth are coming through and it hurts lots - Ouch!

Mark Robert or Stewart Richard are lovely for your wee man, MIABT - Nice and traditional, I like! Any Scottish links there?? (You've probably said, but being the sieve head I am, I missed it!)

to sis not having dropped yet Liath - hoping she does the "natural thing" soon!!

I am not too sure how to lock the front wheel of the P&T ( - something CD doesn't know about the P&T!!!!!!) I'll have a look at mine and post later when I've worked it out / DH has shown me how. TBH, I've never, ever locked mine cos it is a PITA to "drive" if you do.

Mmmmmm, loads of phone calls to make, so best get on.

Can't wait for Meet Up tomorrow - very exciting!!!!!!!!!

Emmymummy · 26/01/2007 10:32

Morning - see I don't read the thread for 2 days then it takes me 2 hours to catch up. I cannot possibly remember what everyone has said, but am so happy for you Pesha and Liath that your scans showed such good news. Big hugs & that all is now well.

Nipples! pmsl with the measuring and the league table. Sadly can only muster about 4.5cm myself so am not even a contender (how glad am I that dh didn't walk into the room when I was checking that out!).

Weight? - ha ha ha don't be silly. I never weigh myself at the best of times, so not a chance now. Will worry about it after the baby when I can't get into any of my nice summer clothes. To be honest I never really dropped the weight last time until I stopped breast feeding (huh? I thought b.f.ing is supposed to help you loose weight). Will just have to see. Maybe I'll magically transform into one of those annoying women who end up being thinner than they were to start with this time....

As for comments about being 'fat', and the size of your tummy in general . Am getting loads of this from work colleagues (one of whom says 'hello fatty' to me every morning). I had to point out to him that I am having a baby, not a hamster and he can shove it if he thinks it's OK to be so rude. Grrrrrr

We have our SE meet up tomorrow!!! Hope everyone's still coming (not that I can remember who is actually along - sieve brain). Captain Dippy - I will email you my mobile no. today. Hope you know where we're going when we get to Southampton. I am useless with directions, making decisions or anything vaguely adult-like...
