12weeks i wonder what your dp would have done if he saw the measuring cervix thingy....

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2007 21:51

Awwww, lovely - both of you! What a beaming smile he has got!!

Going to bed ....... Honest ......

12weeksandcounting · 24/01/2007 21:54

I wonder if he could enlighten me about the location of my cervix - after all he did see it during my last delivery (unlike me) - he may remember a) what it looks like or b) what it looked like fully dilated! His recollection of going to look at head coming out was "the midwife said you could see the head, there was no head - she was just trying to make you feel better"

12weeksandcounting · 24/01/2007 21:54

I am off to bed aswell - work tomorrow zzzz

EllieK · 24/01/2007 21:57

Morning all. I am in a shit mood this morning - sorry! Dh is working stupid hours - which I know he can't help, but it means I am doing EVERYTHING else. I know I whinged on here about his washing up ability, but at least he did it. He hasn't the last couple of nights, and I know it is only 2 nights, but I am peed off with it.
Becky also keeps waking up an hour earlier than normal for some unknown reason and I am knackered. She is then a pita. I keep wondering why in God's name are we having another one which I then feel guilty about. SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, hope everyone is ok - not suffering with illness/difficult kids/overworked dh/dp's!

I'll crawl quiety away now in to my cave of misery!!

claricebean · 25/01/2007 08:15

Morning SOSPL. Poor you. I had a cr*p night's sleep so am feeling a bit jaded this morning too. I am starting to wonder why I thought I'd be able to cope with four. I think (hope) the strain of the third trimester is just v tiring and will pass (eventually!). V excited about meeting number 4, but lacking no motivation to do anything with the current three .

claricebean · 25/01/2007 08:16

should have been..

lacking any motivation

geordiemacminx · 25/01/2007 08:43

I think we should have a communal bad mood today.... stupid me got on the scales this morning..put on nearly 2 stone.. although where exactly I'm unsure... I wasnt going to get on them, knowing that it would just make me sad, but hey I have no will power, and actually stupidly thought I might have only put on a little bit and that would be great.. HA!!!

Still not to worry... at least its not just cos of all the chocolate and chips I have been eating!!!

Birdiebump · 25/01/2007 09:27

Good morning GMM, CB and SOSPL.

I had a reasonable night last night. DS went successfully without a nappy for the first night although he did wake up at about 1.30am (again) wanting to come into our bed. He is finding it hard to settle into his new bedroom after having been in with us for over 2 months(!) while it was (not) being decorated..... HOWEVER... DH dealt with him so at least I stayed in bed while it was going on. Then woke at 5 again, but at least didn't wake at 3 as well, which is what I seem to be doing most nights at the moment.

However I'll join in the communal bad mood cos I know exactly how you feel with DH's who do nothing because of "work" and how hard it is to sort out the brats you've got because you're knackered all the time ! And as for putting on weight... don't even go there.....

liath · 25/01/2007 09:28

I wouldn't dare weigh myself, too depressing. My thighs are getting rather meaty and I've already grown out of a maternity skirt that I'm sure fitted me a lot further along last time. Let's all have some chocolate to cheer ourselves up.

Anyone else got the haggis in for Burn's night tonight? Yummy!

Had taken tomorrow off work (in case of bad news at the scan) and I'd planned to have a nice lunch out with my mum while dd was at nursery. So, of course my little sister's waters have broken & my mum will be looking after her ds. Even if that hadn't happened dd has woken up with conjunctivitis so wouldn't be abale to go to nursery anyway due to their ridiculous policy on conjunctivitis. So - bye-bye posh lunch at Harvey Nicks and hello soft play.

Am very excitied, though. Hope everything goes Ok for my sister as she did have a bloody horrible labour last time. At least she's only gone 4 days overdue - last time it was a fortnight !

charNbump · 25/01/2007 09:31

Good Morning all!

Birdiebump · 25/01/2007 09:42

Good luck for your sister - Liath! And can you find a friend to go with you to the soft play? Then can just hang out and eat chocolate and send your sister good birth vibes.

flumppootle · 25/01/2007 09:51

Morning all
Glad to see that I am not alone in the feeling low day today! Ds and I have come down with dds lurgy and have been up all night - YUCK.

Liath, very exciting being an auntie again, good luck to your sister

Psml at nork measuring again, mine still too cold for any effective measurement - lol.

Group tea and chocolate I think

12weeksandcounting · 25/01/2007 09:59

I am due to leave for work in 4 minutes - don't want to go - feel like shit - spd bad, Ted kept me up all night - some serious musical beds and feel like just getting my pjs on and going back to bed.

Grump.

flumppootle · 25/01/2007 10:05

That didn't sound right
NOT pleased that you are all feeling low aswell, just glad not to feel alone

maveta · 25/01/2007 10:08

PMSL at you lot

didn't mean to cause mayhem by running off for my bath, glad you found the thread re. cervixes though..scary, isn't it?

flumppootle · 25/01/2007 10:11

Er Maveta.......
You still haven't confessed your measurement Dont think that you can distract us with all this yucky cervix talk

charNbump · 25/01/2007 10:14

smile peeps!!

what's this about cervixes? and seriously why the measuring of nipples?!?!? lol xxxx

Gotta see HR manager in a mo re: maternity leave, returning to work etc - great! all i really wanna do is sit here with my coffee n biscuits lol

mammyjo · 25/01/2007 10:23

Morning all. Come on Maveta, I have humiliated myself in the mumsnet arena and since you started the mayhem I think its time you confessed your measurements!!

Liath, good vibes to your sister today. Does she know what sex the baby is or are you waiting for a surprise?

Sorry for everyone feeling down today. I felt like that yesterday (until I came on here last night) but today feel brighter. Perhaps bigonion can do a quick choc run for everyone.

maveta · 25/01/2007 10:24

Oooh no no no no, I asked about breastfeeding and larger nipples, it was NOT me who started the whole 'how big is big/ how small is small/ LET'S MEASURE!' madness that has subsequently swept this board.

I am a woman of mystery...

Also had a grumpy start to the day, dh needed to come into town so said he would bring me to work but we needed to go see his mum to give her medicine. So we leave 1 hour earlier to give us enough time, get there and his sister had already been and done it, and no one called to tell us!! So then we hung around just drinking coffee and chatting at 8.30am. Grrrrrrrr.. And I'm starting to be woken up quite early by bean who decides to do sunrise Tai Chi and can't get back to sleep. Plus I'm still all blocked up and snorty and sniffly. Urgh.

Can't wait to get back to my sofa. Sod housework, in this last week I haven't done a thing, I can't be arsed and dh can either do it or put up with it!
