I wonder who will be first???!!!

Probably oooggs or 1b3 - but could be anyone - scary thought We'll be talking about shows, pains and false labour in no time too. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

12weeksandcounting · 24/01/2007 13:27

Maveta - sorry you are feeling poorly xoxox

If I had to go to the hospital would have had to stay there but because it was done at village doctors was allowed home in between - and they were all eating jaffa cakes when I went back in !!!

bubblez · 24/01/2007 13:27

Hiya All,

Long time (and aparently loads of threads) since my last post. Bet no one remembers me anymore...

Haven't tried to catch up yet, don't really know where to start.

Have been potty training dd for the last week, which has been fun!!

CD how is the potty training goin on your end?

Anyone else been having weird dreams? I had one really freaky dream about the baby being born out of my belly button, it was still in it's sack and joined to me with the umbillical cord. I spent most of the dream running round trying to find the hospital so they could put it back in. Oh and the midwife in my dream told me that it came out of my belly piercing hole..

Which reminds me, does anyone else here have their belly pierced if so when did you take out the bar/ring?

Also, anyone else's belly measuring a little small for their dates? At my last ante natal i measured 26 weeks when i was 28+3.. If anyone else experienced this did they have small babies?

So many questions..lol

12weeksandcounting · 24/01/2007 13:30

Hello Bubblez

I'm the opposite - measuring bigger - so can't help on small thing - maybe worth having a scan????

Must go do something productive with ds2!

nuttygirl · 24/01/2007 13:30

Hello all

Glad to hear GTT test went ok BBCK and hope your mw appointment went ok Mammyjo.

CD - sorry to hear you're feeling low. Take care of yourself.

Pants...that's all I can remember .

Stupid postman knocked on the door today cos a letter wouldn't fit through letterbox, but didn't give me time to get there. The card thing says I have to wait 48hrs before I can collect it...WTF...does it really take them 48 hrs to put it on a shelf in the sorting office???? So that means I can't get it until late Fri morning, so that means it'll have to wait until sat cos I can't manage the walk to the sorting office. I'm frustrated cos I have no idea what it might be!!!!

SIL will be having her first scan in 8 days time (same day as my next mw appointment) so I'm really looking forward to seeing her scan pictures! It's so nice having someone else in the family experiencing the same thing. Also means there's 2 of us vs the MIL if she says anything mean!!!

Right off to try and find a copy of that bf book.

nuttygirl · 24/01/2007 13:36

Bubblez - sorry x-posted!

At my 25 week appointment I was measuring big for dates - the mw measured twice cos the first time she measured it as 29cm, second time she made it 27cm so it's not exactly reliable!. At 28 week appointment a different mw measured me as 28cm and said "oh maybe soand so was a bit off with her measurements". I don't think it's very accurate, hopefully it'll all be fine at your next appointment. HTH.

AngeG · 24/01/2007 13:44

Hi all

CD - sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down still sending you [[hugs]]

Hotlipsmummy - Sorry you're having to take unpaid leave from work. I agree it's annoying that they can't go to nursery especially if they get it mildly and are not really poorly.

12wks - Glad all went well with the test and you're now allowed to eat again

Mammyjo - Hope all went ok with your mw appointment. Thinking of you.

Clarice Bean - 30wks wow, all downhill from now. I'll be 30wks on Sunday. Bit weird really, not sure when my C-section will be booked in for yet, will ask on thurs at my app. Strange to think it might be less than 10wks till some of our babies start arriving.

Pesha - so glad the scan was reassuring and great that you feel able to get excited now.

Liath - Hope scan went ok.

Weeonion - Hope you get your scan and Mw app went well.

MIABT - Glad James slept well, best thing for them when they are poorly. Hope he's ok today.

SOSPL - Sounds like you need to take it easy today. Make sure you do

Tili - Know what you mean about birthdays mine is at the end of Feb and don't think it's going to be much of an occasion. Hope you have a good day.

Flumppootle - Glad DH is home and that LOs slept through the night, it's amazing how they just seem to know these things isn't it.

Sure there will be loads more messages by the time I post this.

YvieE · 24/01/2007 13:46

OMG Bubblez I had a similar sort of dream on early hours of saturday am, i dreamt that i gave birth and it was too early so the put the baby in a freezer bag and attached it to my naval. Remember those Troll dolls with the green hair, well that was the key ring thing that I locked the top of the freezer bag to my naval. I woke up sweating after some man was attacking me and manged to pull the keyring from my naval...WEIRD

Pesha Congrats on the scan sweetheart glad its put your mind to rest

MammyJo hope everything went okay at your test?

CD sorry to hear you are feeling crappy - and that you MW and Dr were unhelpful. If there's anything we can do even if its just to listen and advise then please please do so.

CB - i can't believe you only have 10 weeks to go, how exciting that soon the beans are going to start popping out

Maveta - apparently the bug is going around our office and it is NOT nice, hope you feel better soon. Re: Noa - thanks for the tip

Whendoobygotstuckupthechimney · 24/01/2007 13:52

Haloo Ladies
Had a quick whizz through am just about to pick up 'the boy'from school and haven't read everything[again]grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Sorry to hear about your 1st baby GMM.
and i hope all who have the pox circulating are managing alright and that those feeling down feel better..
Thanks for the advice re epidurals and spinals guys..i think mi would prefer[if that's right term]a spinal.
Love reading all the names
My ds is called Finn

AngeG · 24/01/2007 14:00

Bubblez - could to hear from you. Potty training mmmm what fun! How is it going?

As someone else said the measuring tape thing is pretty inaccurate. If the mw is worried she will send you for a scan to make sure baby is growing, as long as baby is moving well still, they are not usually worried.

When is your next app? Maybe ask mw about it?

AngeG · 24/01/2007 14:05

Maveta - sorry you're feeling poorly, hope it goes away quickly.

Also meant to add. When I saw the MW at 28+3 she only measured 25cms, the following week at 29+4 the consultant measured 29cms. Just shows how it can change. Sometimes it depends on how the baby is lying also.

bubblez · 24/01/2007 14:13

Yvie - So glad it isn't just me with all the alien type freak show dreams. BTW sorry to hear about your granddad. Belated {{hugs}} to you and your family.

Nuttygirl & 12weeks - I'm still in the grey area when they plot my measurements so they won't give me another scan (unfortunately, would love to see baby again) unless i go out of the grey. I know that I have put on weight. But I fear that all the weight I have put on has gathered on my 'love handles' rather than the baby. also dd was 5lb 15oz so I wonder if this means another small 'un.

CD - I didnt realise you were feeling down hun.... I hope it passes and you feel better soon.

12weeks - have you had a name change?
xx

Birdiebump · 24/01/2007 14:17

What do you people do all day??? Do you all have little portable laptops so you can type messages as you do everything else you manage to get through? I am in awe yet again!

Anyway, quick one from me then back to work.

Bubblez - I measured 23cm @ 25 weeks and have just measured 29cm @ 28 weeks so I'm with the others - no worries!

Tili - IKWYM re school. I have sent an email to the admissions officer to see if I can get DS2 in by Sept rather than Jan, not because I'm desperate for him to start learning etc, but also because I think he will be pretty bored of nursery by then and more than ready to get stuck in.

What else - oh yeah - weird dream - I can't remember the fine detail (which was also all pretty odd) but my belly had become totally transparent and you could see LO inside, all pink and beautiful!! What goes on in our heads, eh?

bubblez · 24/01/2007 14:18

Cheers AngeG!! I won't go out and buy any 'small baby' clothes just yet then..
My next apt is at 31wks so I guess we'll see then. Besides baby is definately moving well so I'm sure all is well. It's just the measurements coupled with other peoples 'oh you look so small for 'bla'weeks' sometimes makes me a little paranoid. Silly I know.

Talking about baby clothes, am I the only one who doesn't actually have anything for their soon-to-be born baby?

bubblez · 24/01/2007 14:24

Oh and the potty training was def a nightmare to begin with. Wees on floor every 10mins and me getting braxton hicks every day. But then I discovered pull-ups and surprisingly they worked out well. Now, not only does dd tell me when she needs to go but she holds it until we get there! [very proud mother emoz] She still does a poo in her nappy though and now I'm moving her from potty to big toilet so still a little way to go.

I guess at 3yrs old she was def more ready then at 2.5. lol

xx

Pesha · 24/01/2007 14:30

Sympathies on birthdays, my dd was born 9 days before my 22nd birthday. My then partner forgot so got 2 bottles of hooch (that he'd bought for his mum!) out the fridge and put them in a carrier bag as my birthday present! Oh and the fridge was new so he said that could my present too. Conveniently forgot that when we split up though and he kept the fridge

PMSL - when trying to write angry in the box above i actually wrote wanker, no idea id done it all!! Shows what i think of him doesnt it?!

Have forgotten everything else i was going to say now. Um...

12 weeks - glad test went ok and is all finished now.

No thats it braindead!

Hugs to all feeling poorly or with poorly LOs but best to be getting it out the way before babies are here. I guess?!

And again to all those having down days, does seem alot of us are feeling overwhelmed or frustrated or depressed at the moment. Is nice we have each other to rant at and get support and good to know we're not alone. Am coming over all soppy and group huggish now which is not me at all!

liath · 24/01/2007 14:30

Hi everyone.

Have had my scan. It went well, so much better than I dared hope. The cyst-thing has gone - you can see where it used to be as there's a calcified area. So the consultant was pretty sure that it's resolving itself - presumably the bowel perforated & leaked early on then healed over.

This is SUCH a huge relief, we've gone from the baby almost certainly needing surgery when born to almost certainly going to be OK. So long as he feeds and poos normally we'll be fine. Consultant even thought I'd be OK for a homebirth but not sure if I've got the guts to do that now!!

!

Can you tell I'm happy, by the way?

bubblez · 24/01/2007 14:32

RE big nips and bottles/bf.

I think that I have quite big nips they are def bigger then most of my friends and the aerola's are like dinner plates.... ok slight exage but they are definately big... and now very dark!

I am def of the opinion that whatever is less stressful for mother is the best way to go. Happy mother, happy baby. My midwife would disagree and tells me that I need to bf for 6months at least. But I will do as much as I can for as long as I can, if it doesn't work I'll mix feed and failing that FF.

Less stress and preasure is definately best IME.

So I have some Tommee tippee Closer to Nature bottles on my wish list just in case.

bubblez · 24/01/2007 14:35

GREAT NEWS LAITH!!! So pleased for you!

lol @ pesha - subconsious telling you what you really think of him lol

AngeG · 24/01/2007 14:49

Liath - That's fantastic news, I'm so pleased for you. What a relief for you. Another one who can now begin to get excited. Wooooooohooooooooo

nuttygirl · 24/01/2007 14:49

Congratulations Liath so pleased for you!

12weeksandcounting · 24/01/2007 14:50

Great news liath You must be sooo relieved ((hugs))

I have been clearing out more stuff and have found 8 ougrown pairs of shoes - going to put on the for sale board! If you're interested - they are all boys ranging from size 8 to 10! Normally pass onto my sister but my nephew has caught up now.

Went into shop to get some milk and they had iced buns

Having sewing machine crisis (borrowed it!) - can't seem to get the bottom reel to pick up when needle goes down??? any ideas!

Am I only only one who actually measured their nipples???

AngeG · 24/01/2007 14:51

Pmsl -Pesha at telling us what you really thought of your ex.

AngeG · 24/01/2007 14:53

12weeks, when you say nipples do you mean just the sticky ouut nipple bit or the aerola around it as well?
