Lucky I've had a headache on and off. It was constant for about 16 weeks last time so I'm relieved it's not as bad.
Currently sat on a train trying to keep a restless toddler amused and feeling very sick. I need food but the trolley hasn't been down yet. Tempted to eat dd's snacks. Only 1 1/2 hours to go.

gumbootsandjandals · 28/06/2016 10:53

Fx for you spin. I'm glad your DH is going with you.

My trust will induce vbacs. I had sort of decided to go for a rcs rather than induction but as it was I went into labour on my due date. My contractions slowed down though and as I had meconium in my waters they were keen to get things going, so I agreed on augmentation, followed very quickly by an epidural (which took two hours to work but when it did...bliss!).

Hazandduck · 28/06/2016 11:13

good luck spin and duchy. I have got my first scan today, a private one to put my mind at ease but I am getting so incredibly nervous. Mainly because my symptoms have died down so much from a couple of weeks ago! I just keep thinking my mum, sisters and aunties never had any symptoms maybe it is hereditary...praying any way. I note a few of you have had bloating but has it been ridiculously hard as well? Last night my tummy was like a rock and so huge I looked about 6 months gone! No joke! It's so weird. X

Scarydinosaurs · 28/06/2016 11:13

Midwife been and gone! Just booking me in, only have to do bloods next week- so that's nice.

She seems to think that I'll probably get an induction after my last super speedy birth, and still be able to do it on the MLU, so that would be perfect. Feeling very happy with that.

Hazandduck · 28/06/2016 11:18

Excellent news scary :)

Lucy1308 · 28/06/2016 11:19

Everything crossed for you spin I really hope it's good news for you.

Today I am mostly very tired and have a horrible headache. I am definitely less bloated if I eat very tiny amounts and more frequently! Boobs are getting to be sore now though! Could deal with just nipples but now my boobs feel bruised too!! Boo!!

Roll on Sunday....

CeeCeeEnnEss · 28/06/2016 11:24

My booking in went well :) midwife was lovely and full of useful info. She's put me as 9 weeks based on my LMP but says we'll get an accurate date from the scan.

mshepp · 28/06/2016 11:42

I was wondering whether anyone knows when you get the results of a blood test, is it likely you'll be given those at your next scan, do they post them or do you have to see your GP?

Thanks!

FriendlyGhost · 28/06/2016 11:48

mshepp it's probably different everywhere but I don't think they bother giving you the results unless there's something to note like low iron. I have a feeling that my midwife just brought them to my 16 week appointment and added them to my notes last time.

Jojoclaire · 28/06/2016 11:57

My appointment went well too, v quick and straightforward.

I'm not quite sure what will happen though as we are likely to move away from the area sometime soon. Has anyone moved midwives during pregnancy before?

Masweetpea1 · 28/06/2016 12:10

jojo, i moved midwives and hospital last time. I just registered at my local gp surgery and got a midwife appt. I did it at week 21, so had had my 20 week scan at the old hospital. It was a bit of a palava as the new hospital insisted on redoing my bloods.

twocatsandatoddler · 28/06/2016 12:19

jojo I moved at around the same time as sweetpea so had my 20 week scan in London and then all subsequent appointments with new midwife and new hospital. You will have to have bloods done again as hospitals won't rely on bloods done elsewhere. I think they want to be 100% sure of your blood type just in case you need a transfusion during/post-labour. My first midwife appointment at new surgery was a bit longer as I effectively had to do the booking in stuff again and transfer the info to the new set of hospital notes.

I've said this before on here but think it's worth saying again - if anyone changes hospital, make sure you have the details of your 12 week scan in your new notes (rip them out of the old folder and transfer across if necessary) as my hospital scanned me at 32 weeks and estimated a due date from that scan which was a few weeks early as DS was measuring big, and then they panicked when I went in in labour as they thought I was about 3 1/2 weeks overdue according to their records. I had to provide my scan details to reassure them because they wouldn't believe me otherwise!

Kellz92 · 28/06/2016 12:42

We have been busy!! i will try catch up later lol but i dont know if i will manage. Just so tired at the moment im struggling to get through the work day. Have my MW on Thursday and my private early scan on Saturday so a good week for me, have taken a few days off next week and one the week after hopefully i can lie in lots lol xx

TheresaMarie55 · 28/06/2016 12:56

Hi everyone. I was in one.of the TTC threads but haven't joined an actual due date thread yet! Going from dates I'm 8+4 and due 3rd of Feb, obviously that could change a little at my first scan. I've got my first midwife appointment a week tomorrow when I'll be 9+5 and then another one at the hospital to properly book in a week after that (new rules here Confused ) . I'm guessing my scan will be between 12 and 14 weeks.

Bit about myself, I'm 25 (birthday in April) I have two children, both girls age 3 and 1 and I have a 13 year old stepson. I'm a sahm and hubby works full time.

I had about two weeks of nausea but its been gone about a week, I'm struggling a little with how tired I am though. With two little ones I don't get the chance to nap and my 1 year old still often wakes at night so my sleep is quite broken, also waking to pee which doesn't help lol. Trying to find a good balance where I'm not entirely burning myself out but my home is still looking how i want it and kids are being stimulated x

SpinALittleFaster · 28/06/2016 13:16

Quick update, will read back later. Hadn't said anything after my last scan because I was freaking out. Twin 1 is fine but twin 2 has gone. There's a massive bleed between them which explains the bleeding that I've had. They're not sure whether twin 2 will re absorb or come out and there's a risk it'll take the viable one with it. Rescan in 2 weeks and everything crossed twin 1 is ok.
Feeling ok but had this as my best case scenario after last night.

Linda I've not told the girls yet, not sure how...

twocatsandatoddler · 28/06/2016 13:35

I'm so sorry for your loss spin, what a worrying time it must be having to wait for more news as well. Hope twin 1 (and you) hang on in there FlowersFlowers

PhantomPower · 28/06/2016 13:38

Hi all, may jump in and join you now it feels a bit more real!
Currently 6+5 with a 15th Feb due date (dc1) Currently no symptoms really so feeling q strange about it all. Just booked my booking in appointment with the midwife and it's policy round here for it to be phone appointment - has anyone else experienced this and how did you find it? I think it's seems bizarrely disconnected and will find it quite strange to go through such personal details with a disembodied voice on the phone (not least because I'll hv to sneak off for 40 mins in the middle of work) Surely this doesn't save much time anyway?

HighHopes16 · 28/06/2016 13:45

Really sorry to hear your sad news Spin - It will be a long wait for your next scan I'm sure. Fingers Crossed all is ok with Twin 1. Flowers

TheresaMarie55 · 28/06/2016 13:56

Sorry for your loss spin. I will have everything crossed for twin 1 and yourself x

TheresaMarie55 · 28/06/2016 13:58

I've never heard if that phantom, seems very impersonal! I have to book in twice. I'm classed as out of area with the hospital I've chosen (had the same with my other two) even though its actually 10 minutes closer than the hospital classed as in my area lol. A new policy apparently that you have to have first bloods taken there etc. X

ellms1 · 28/06/2016 14:17

Hi ladies! Hope you are all well. Fingers crossed for all of you that are going through a hard and worrying time. I hope it all gets better soon. Flowers

I am 6+6 today and having my first child. Strangely the only symptoms I have had is sore boobs, absolutely nothing else yet so fingers crossed it stays this way!

Right, I now need to get this off my chest and see if anyone can relate. I wondered this for ages, and although it's only a VERY small price to pay, I am still slightly worried.

During puberty I developed stretch marks on my hips and thighs, not because I was overweight, but because I was growing so fast. They are quite red and haven't faded much. I have always been really self conscious. Does this mean I will definitely get stretch marks on my stomach?
As it is my first child, I'm just wondering if any one else has had stretch marks and not got any (or hardly any) during pregnancy. Give me some hope!!!Confused

I hope you don't mind me joining X

Witch91 · 28/06/2016 15:05

Wow, can't believe we're on page 4 of the new thread already before I found you!

Sorry to hear your sad news Spin, FX Twin 1 will be ok.

I'm at 8+5 according to my original calculations, but I had my early scan on Friday and they put me at 7+4 then, so 8+1 now, so not quite sure. where I am really! Scan was really good though, all showing ok and jellybean is 1.2cm long.

Been feeling awful the past couple of days, with really bad dizziness and feelng sick. I feel like someone is gripping my head and shaking it really fast everytime I stand up, it's quite unsettling!

Welcome ellms1 and other newbies Smile

twocatsandatoddler · 28/06/2016 15:18

Welcome ellms I didn't have any previous stretch marks so might not be exactly the same, but I did manage not to get any on my stomach at all last pregnancy which is amazing considering how big I got by the end (I was MASSIVE). I did get about 3 or 4 small ones on my bum (which I am pretending don't exist as I can only see them if I contort myself in front of the mirror, and are usually covered by pants anyway) and a teeny tiny one on one of my boobs from when they got massive after my milk came in! They're all barely noticeable 18 months on, so it is possible to get off lightly. I didn't use any cream/bio oil either.

Just had my first midwife appointment which turned out not to be a booking appointment - they do that at the hospital these days apparently. She filled in my referral form and will fax it off today so I should hear in a week or so about scan date and booking appointment, and blood tests. Hoping they're all the same day (she says they usually are) as I'm going to a different hospital this time and it's about a 40 min drive away so don't fancy making too many trips! I have to have at least one, maybe two extra appointments up there because of EMCS to discuss VBAC with a consultant, but she said she doesn't see any reason why previous situation would repeat itself so said I'd probably be fine for a VBAC if I want one.

Masweetpea1 · 28/06/2016 15:20

spin, sorry to hear about twin 2, keeping everything crossed for twin 1. x

Hazandduck · 28/06/2016 15:27

Just got back from my early scan thinking I was 8 weeks...got a CB 2-3 weeks about 3 weeks ago and according to the scan I have a womb that tilts back so had to have an internal scan and saw heartbeat but sonographer said I am only 5+5! Feel so disappointed as I really felt I was progressing and getting out of the worry stage but now feel back at square one :( I have such anxiety and just want this stage over. I have a phobia of vomiting and thought I may be ok ie morning sickness but now I don't know it could kick in any time I feel helpless. Sorry for the negativity I just feel disheartened. We did see the heartbeat which is a positive but I just feel like it could all go wrong any time ;(
