A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Third thread already (we're a chatty bunch!) Second thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2662110-Due-in-February-2017-thread-2?

New thread! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Ma I will be 7+1 for mine
What are you doing to cope with the wait??? Alcohol is off the table

Emz I always only use water Smile

Dutchy best of luck tomorrow Flowers

KimmyRox80 · 27/06/2016 21:24

6+3 today

Fx for you dutchy

emz I have sensitive skin in general so avoid artificially perfumed stuff, seems to be fine for down there!

I work full-time in HR and am just coming the the end of my first year of a 2 year post grad diploma in Human Resource Management. I went into the university library to work on my last assignment (due in tomorrow, I shouldn't be on here right now... Grin ) I literally almost fell asleep at the computer and this was around 1pm! I'm sooo exhausted it's crazy. I'm busy in general but this is ridiculous! Shock. My breasts have been aching for a couple of week and dodgy tum seems to have started today. However I feel though I really couldn't be happier right now!

Marking my spot

jpclarke · 27/06/2016 21:29

Hi ladies, can I join you all? My due date is the 2 of March but as this will please God be #3 and I have had two previous Caesarian sections I am guessing my gynae will insist on one this time. (I tried to avoid it last time) anyway I am cautiously joining as I had a chemical pregnancy in April, and I am still breastfeeding ds so I am very nervous. 4 weeks 4,days today.

SkyLucy · 27/06/2016 21:32

Welcome flipper! What lovely news after such a slog - congratulations!

Thinking of you dutchy Flowers

I've never used anything except water on my bits! (Love these conversations BTW!)

This may be a contentious issue...anyone tried/considered losing weight during first trimester? I lost a stone and a half last year and was really pleased - annoyingly TTC stress and now morning sickness have added on 7lbs (the only way I can combat nausea is eating!). Tempted to go back to my healthy weightwatchers ways for the next six weeks...in the words of a true mumsnetter, AIBU??

mynameisntLinda · 27/06/2016 21:33

jpclarke according to ovia I'm also due 2nd March but I'm pretty sure I ovulated late because of the bfn I got before getting the bfp. Also bf still and no nausea yet.

raddersmrs · 27/06/2016 21:34

Skylucy - did you lose weight on purpose or did symptoms mean you lost weight??

ButtonTum · 27/06/2016 21:44

Hello all, marking my place.

I'm a bit worried as my symptoms are fading. I still had a wee bit of nausea this morning and nipples still making themselves known, but everything else pretty much normal. I'm 7+3 and ovia pregnancy app told me this morning that as the placenta is starting to do more of the work, my hormones might start levelling out. Am I imagining it? or anyone else returning to normal?

Marking my place Smile

SkyLucy · 27/06/2016 22:06

radders - I lost weight deliberately. Put some back on accidentally!

button - sure it's okay. Smile These delightful symptoms have got to go at some point, no?

Jojoclaire · 27/06/2016 22:14

Well done kimmy that's impressive! With you on the sleepiness though.

bottomtum I think that can happen re symptoms disappearing, mine have come back again though (8+4 today). I definitely get more sick in the morning though, literally put my coat on to leave for work and have to dash to the loo to chuck up every morning.

Have midwife appointment tomorrow morning, am slightly nervous, can't imagine how it can last so long!

I'm using sanex zero in the shower. I got panicked reading some article about skincare so treated myself lots of paraben free products - m&s do REN which is nice. Not sure if it's just scaremongering but feels good to use less chemically stuff.

HighSparrow · 27/06/2016 22:17

Shiny new thread! Thanks sky! Marking place Grin

Welcome newbies!

FriendlyGhost · 27/06/2016 22:25

Button you'll probably find your symptoms come and go. Hormones double every 2/3 days I think so your body gets used to them and then hits you with more. After feeling appalling yesterday and today I feel fine this evening. It will hit again soon I'm sure! DH is happy to remind me that I had freak outs every couple of days last time because my symptoms had gone and then whinged the next because I felt so bad!
I generally use Lush shower stuff so hopefully natural enough to be ok.
jp and Linda I'm still breastfeeding too. I haven't noticed any difference I the feeding except my nipples are a bit more sensitive. I don't think my milk's changed. Dd is the original milk monster so I doubt she'll let anything get in the way of her feeding!

Evergreen17 · 27/06/2016 22:37

Sky I am still on weight watchers but being a looooot more relaxed. So I am tracking my food there as I dont want to put on weight just yet
(PCOS and infertility linked to my weight)

as far as I understand you dont need to eat more than 300_400 cals extra a day and that is on the third trimester

However I have read conflicting studies:
Some say that weight loss is a no mo because you release ketones to blood stream and that is not good for baby
More recent studies that advocate dieting particularly at the beginning to prevent gestational diabetes

But I am no doctor so I dont want to tell you what to do.

But I will stay on ww for a bit longer myself as it helps me lots with hormones

Evergreen17 · 27/06/2016 22:39

Sky I mean I am still following plan but have been going over my weeklies. Still losing a couple hundred grams a week (not much)

jpclarke · 27/06/2016 22:41

O I am so relieved to find out that I am not the only one still breastfeeding, and it's great to know I have you both to bounce questions off, mynameisntlinda and friendly ghost. I had very sore nipples the week before i got my bfp but it seems ok now. I generally only feed at night, going to sleep and first thing in the morning but ds is cutting through canines at the minute and he is completely out of sorts so is sometimes looking for it during the day. I am reluctant to feed then because I am pregnant and don't want to cause any harm to the growing baby but I read that it should be ok. Hoping to get to my gp next week and I am going to ask him to refer me for an early scan. Any of you nervous?

Masweetpea1 · 27/06/2016 22:46

,high, thinking of you, keep your chin up.
dutchy, good luck tomorrow
kimmy, I'm also in hr, i specialise in employment law!
evergreen , trying not think about the scan. I have had some more Brown blood today, tiny amount , so just did another test and i finally got my 3+. Keeping my fingers crossed!

FriendlyGhost · 27/06/2016 22:57

jp my dd is cutting her canines at the moment too. You have my sympathy! I think a fair few of us are still breastfeeding so I don't think you need to worry. I did a lot of research before getting pregnant and it seems there is absolutely no link between breastfeeding and miscarriage. Breastfeeding can cause a short luteal phase due to low progesterone so it can be hard to get pregnant but once you are it shouldn't be a problem. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and breastfeeding my dd on average 4 times in a 24 hour period and so far so good.
A lot of us have booked private early scans for reassurance. I'm already feeling nervous about mine! Last time I only had the 12 week one and it was so long to wait that I overthought and over googled things. I went into my scan in tears because I had convinced myself it was going to be bad news. Hoping that an early scan takes some of this anxiety away!

Jojoclaire · 27/06/2016 23:44

button so sorry for spelling your name wrong by the way!

SpinALittleFaster · 28/06/2016 01:32

Just woken up with DD and bleeding is much worse, definitely not just spotting. I was starting to feel ok about waiting until Thursday but now hating the thought of being in limbo until then :(. Feeling very woe is me right now.

jpclarke · 28/06/2016 04:52

Thanks for that reassurance friendlyghost, hopefully all will be ok. I haven't rang my gynae or gone to the gp yet, I might do it next week.
Spinalittlefaster I am really sorry to hear you are going through such a worrying time, my friends sister bled through her whole pregnancy and she had a healthy little boy st the end of it. So hopefully all will be ok for you.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 28/06/2016 06:50

Thinking of you spin, I really hope it's nothing.

jojo my midwife appointment is today too. Bit nervous!

I alternate between diarrhoea and being bunged up, to continue from the other thread. Oh and I wash with baby wash as it's got the least nasties in, that's what a Dr told me to do a few years ago when I had constant thrush. Ah being a woman is so delightful!

Evergreen17 · 28/06/2016 06:58

Mas I did a clearblue this morning too BlushBlushand I got 3+ Smile
We will be fine we will be fine we will be fine SmileSmileSmile

Spin so very sorry you have to waiting until Thursday. Sending all the good energies I can your way.

Soooo hoping everyone in this thread is ok FlowersFlowersFlowers

Ceecee I had my appointment last weeks and it was easy Grin
Just lots of forms and she was nice

Scarydinosaurs · 28/06/2016 07:20

Sky- are you actually overweight? I think if your BMI is 25+ then weight loss is ok.

I'm so sick today. I have been up all night feeling sick and dierreaoh and now just feeling incredibly seasick. The perfect antidote? Being trampled by two small girls. Aghhhh.

LaceyLee · 28/06/2016 07:24

Hi all, thanks for new thread. Im totally with you on the exhaustion thing. I nearly fall asleep at my desk every day!! Tried to go zero caffeine but haven't quite managed it due to tiredness!

Ask massively bloated and have horrible wind and diarrhea. Brilliant!!!!

Have felt nauseous in the evenings but last two days not as bad. I'm obviously worrying about that but nothing I can do.

jpclarke were you on the ttc while breastfeeding thread? Congratulations!!
