A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Third thread already (we're a chatty bunch!) Second thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2662110-Due-in-February-2017-thread-2?

twocats that is not what you need to hear when you've got everything else going on! You know your body and your BMI! I think mums say these things meaning well and don't realise how hurtful it can come across! X

wispaxmas · 12/07/2016 07:44

sunshine, they will have to book you back in within the 3 weeks following, though, if you want the nuchal screening test for trisomies.

Mysterycat23 · 12/07/2016 07:48

Hi everyone. Scan booked for 26 July.

Fenella and skylucy so glad it's not just me crying at my mum. Things were hard before but now I'm really worried about my physical and emotional state. Started (crappy dead end) new job yday and a woman spent 20 mins showing me how to book train tickets Hmm last night I cried for about 3 hours

MrsJ1982 · 12/07/2016 08:12

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm 10 wks today. I've got a question that I wonder if any of you have any experience with. Im going to Australia in a couple of weeks (I'll be 11 +5 and I usually use travel sickness tablets, does anyone know which brads are safe to use in pregnancy? Thanks X

Evergreen17 · 12/07/2016 08:21

Hi all
8+5 today
My 12-week scan is on the 4th of August, the day before my wedding. So hoping to get good news!!! I will be 12 w according to LMP but I am sure I ovulated late so probably 11+4/11+5
I hope they can still get the info they need with those dates!!!

Evergreen17 · 12/07/2016 08:21

Also... Who was the lovely organised person that did the list before?
Could we have it updated with the 12w scans? SmileSmileFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers

Laura2803 · 12/07/2016 09:29

I just used standard travel bands in my last pregnancy. I wore them 24/7 and they really helped. Don't have any symptoms this time!! I've my "early booking app" today. Xx

lawyeredout82 · 12/07/2016 09:34

Got my booking in appointment today - I'm 10+3 based on Lmp. Anyone know whether they have the vbac/elcs conversation with you at this stage? Want to make sure I am prepared with my arguments!!

Having a private early scan on Monday next week so we can also do the harmony test. NHS scan isn't until 29th (when I'll be 12+6). This really seems to be dragging...

LondonGirl83 · 12/07/2016 09:52

Morning everyone! I can say that for the first day in ages I actually am feeling much better. I finally feel human-- nausea subsiding and relatively normal energy levels. I'm so happy I can't even worry about losing my symptoms :)

I didn't realise how bad I felt until now that I finally feel a bit better. I might even go back to the gym tomorrow for the first time in 2.5 weeks! My back has started hurting so I know I need to do pilates to help.

Not sure if I should tell my instructor at this point though. I'll be about 9 weeks by this weekend. Is there any modifications they'd need to do for me at this stage?

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 10:05

lawyered I had mine last week and the midwife said they'd make an appointment for me at around 20-22 weeks to discuss VBAC. That was at my hospital (Cambridge) though so might be different in other areas. That's a midwife appointment but I'll also get a consultant appointment around 34 weeks to discuss induction or c-section specifics if I decide to go for those options.

I think I'm going to go for VBAC but refuse induction so would like them to book me an ELCS by 41 weeks if I haven't gone into labour.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 12/07/2016 10:09

There's a few of us with appointments today then, just waiting for the midwife now.
No idea what to expect.

FriendlyGhost · 12/07/2016 10:26

Evergreen I don't mind doing the list this evening if it hasn't been done by then.
Lawyered I have my booking appointment on Thursday and I'm going to tell them I want an elcs then so it's on record and in my notes.

lawyeredout82 · 12/07/2016 10:39

Thanks ladies - will report back this afternoon with what the midwife says. I want to start my campaign for a elcs early so am going armed with stats today just in case.

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 10:42

lawyered the midwife told me last week that although they recommend VBAC it was my right to have a section instead if that's my preference. So hopefully you won't have to fight too hard!

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 10:43

*i have the right to have a section.
Can't type today!

FriendlyGhost · 12/07/2016 10:52

That's good to know twocats. I know some trusts want to get their numbers down and others aren't as fussed so I'm hoping mine is the latter. Similar to lawyered I want to mention it early in case I have to put up a fight.

LaBergere · 12/07/2016 10:56

Hi all!

I had my booking appointment yesterday and like twocatsandatoddler, I was told it was my decision for delivery method and that whatever I chose would be discussed and supported after 20 weeks.

I'm actually in the VBAC camp! The 6 weeks recovery after my (scheduled) c-section last time was awful and the thought of doing that with my 3 year old DD bouncing about doesn't bare thinking about! Shock

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 11:21

LaBergere I'm with you on the recovery with a toddler and that's why I'd prefer a VBAC if I go into labour naturally.

I had a bad experience on the syntocinon drip last time where DS got really distressed and basically got squashed by the induced contractions (he looked like an alien when he came out as his head moulding was so bad) and that's why I ended up with an emergency section, so I'm planning to refuse an induction as it was all a bit traumatic, but I'm hoping it won't come to that!

FlipperSkipper · 12/07/2016 11:30

Hi ladies, we saw a heartbeat at our scan today and I measured 7weeks, I'm 7+2 by embryo transfer date and she said that's fine. Back for another scan in two weeks, then I'll be booked in. Apparently I'll be under an extra care team, which is good.

LaBergere · 12/07/2016 11:35

Oh jeepers you poor thing! That didn't sound fun! Your poor little man!

My DD was stuck in breech (head between her legs) so I had to have a c-section. I was all for the water birth route etc, so i was gutted. Considering I'm super frightened of needles and hospitals it actually went really well! The whole team in theatre knew of my phobias and basically hid everything from me.

The recovery is definitely the worst part. Hoping to dear God that you don't sneeze! Grin
Fingers (not legs!) crossed for VBACS!!

lawyeredout82 · 12/07/2016 11:41

Labergere, my daughter was breech too which is why I had to have a section. I didn't mind the recovery too much but I know that just because it was easy last time won't necessarily mean it will be this time!

LaBergere · 12/07/2016 11:46

FlipperSkipper
Congrats! And good news for extra care too!

lawyeredout82 Indeed! You never know huh?! I've come to realise that you can make all these plans, but essentially the lump in your tummy is making all the damned decisions!

BohemianRaspberry · 12/07/2016 12:17

I'll see you in there twocats - we're Addenbrookes bound too - I'm also hopefully VBAC. It ssounds like we had similar experiences first time round.

Booking in at 33 bmi! I'm all good to go!

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 12:44

Ah bohemian maybe I will see you! Were you at Addenbrookes before? I went to Harlow for DS and couldn't fault the care on labour ward but the postnatal ward was a bit grim so decided to have a chance of scenery this time. The Rosie seems very swish by comparison!

LondonGirl83 · 12/07/2016 12:48

For the list tonight*
