A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Third thread already (we're a chatty bunch!) Second thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2662110-Due-in-February-2017-thread-2?

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

Spin and HighHopes I'm thinking of you both xx

Evergreen17 · 28/06/2016 07:49

Lots of typos on my post Sad
Lacey I am on one cup of coffee a day and it just doesnt cut it SadSad

So bloody tired and the worst is that because it is early days, and a secret, people at work dont get why I am tired Sad

wispaxmas · 28/06/2016 08:23

Don't worry about going zero caffeine, there's no evidence that a couple cups of coffee a day are actually harmful. That said, I used to have 5 or more cups a day and I've changed most of them to decaf.

twocatsandatoddler · 28/06/2016 08:24

ceecee & jojo my booking appointment is today too. It takes ages mainly because there are so many forms to fill in!

Last time mine was with a community midwife in south London who I didn't really warm to, this time it's with the midwife based at my surgery (I moved mid-pregnancy last time) and she's lovely and remembers me from last time and phoned to congratulate me and confirm the appointment a few weeks ago Smile

Has anyone else had a booking appointment for second pregnancy after previous CS? I'm not ready to make a decision on birth choice yet so I'm hoping I can ask to decide further down the line.

SkyLucy · 28/06/2016 08:27

Oh spin I really feel for you. Does your local EPU accept drop-in appointments, so you could go before Thursday? When I was at mine last week a woman came without an appointment and they seemed to look after her well.

Ever thanks for the advice - yes, maybe if I started tracking again I'd feel better. My BMI is lower than 25 but I just feel absolutely hideous, and need to feel more in control.

Fx for you today dutchy Flowers

I agree with what wispa said. I've cut back as I probably drank too much even for someone who wasn't pregnant, but I still have a cup or two of coffee most days. I've switched a lot of cups for decaf though.

Evergreen17 · 28/06/2016 08:33

I want more coffee Blush

Evergreen17 · 28/06/2016 08:33

Sky I also find that ww is a nice distraction from the worries of pregnancy Grin

wispaxmas · 28/06/2016 08:40

Good luck today with your scan, dutchy, I hope all is fine!!

I'm 8+6 today and I have my midwife booking in appointment this morning! I had completely forgotten about it until my H just was looking at the calendar.

gumbootsandjandals · 28/06/2016 08:46

twocats my first was an emcs. My second pg I saw the MW as usual but from the start was encouraged to go for a vbac. I had to have the same number if appts as a ftm (usually if 2nd pg you have less appts). Of course I was free to change my mind re birth at any point.

Haven't booked in with MW yet for #3 but am unsure what route I will take. My vbac was a bit traumatic at the very end so it may be that they will even recommend a cs...

themightymoosh · 28/06/2016 08:53

I wasn't trying to lose weight, just eating more fruit and veg and good stuff (vegetarian) but I have just felt so bobbins that if Nutella on toast is what I fancy then that's what I've eaten. I am convinced I'll be sent for OGTT and have lots of tutting when I suggest a homebirth due to being old and fat (in childbearing terms).

SpinALittleFaster · 28/06/2016 09:19

Just spoken to the epu and they're going to see me today. Waiting to hear if DH can come home and if I can get someone to watch DD. Not feeling overly positive considering how heavy it was overnight and don't particularly want to go in on my own.

jpclarke · 28/06/2016 09:23

Hi Laceylee, yes I was on that thread. I finally got here!!! But it's early days yet. Thankfully the real exhaustion hasn't hit me yet, but I am dreading it as I am off work for the summer with the kids. But I have a little bit of insomnia.

SpinALittleFaster · 28/06/2016 09:27

twocats I was told that I wouldn't need to decide for a while. I think they have to let you have another CS if you ask for it, even if you've already agreed to try VBAC.

twocatsandatoddler · 28/06/2016 09:28

Thanks spin and gum. I'm undecided. My EMCS was because DS was back to back and also at funny angle so my labour didn't progress because he wasn't engaged properly so my body didn't get the right cues - so I ended up on a drip to augment contractions and all that did was squeeze and distress DS because he was stuck! The midwife who attended the CS said it was highly unlikely he'd have come out naturally given his position. So in some ways I'm relatively positive about VBAC as I think my problems were all down to DS position so as long as this one cooperates there's no reason I shouldn't be able to labour naturally this time round. But the experience of established labour I had before they put the epidural in for the drip was really painful (prob because of back to back) so part of me wants to wimp out and avoid it! And then there's the recovery to take into consideration. All things to discuss with the midwife this afternoon I guess. I hated the drip so am going to ask if I can have a CS rather than induction if I go overdue.

spin really hope all is ok and that DH can come with you for support Flowers

Scarydinosaurs · 28/06/2016 09:36

Good luck spin Flowers

Midwife coming in an hour and I'm struggling to stand up. I am going to just apologise for the mess that is my front room.

H007 · 28/06/2016 10:02

I'm exhausted, DD has a school riser afternoon today and I'm so excited as I can have a nap 😆

I'm not really having nausea yet only around 11.30 when I'm dying for lunch, last time I was sick as a dog so this all feels so different. Been suffering from cramps as well, I'm not sure what that means, and my tummy has started to stick out slightly and only 5+3 (I think)

Booked in for MW 14th July.

SpinALittleFaster · 28/06/2016 10:14

MIL coming to watch DD and DH meeting me at the hospital. Not feeling overly positive.

My midwife told me that they won't induce someone who has had a CS. They will do sweeps and start those earlier but no drip. I suspect that means they'd do an elcs in place of the drip if it came to that. She also said that all vbac would be consultant led rather than in the midwife uni .
Mine was planned because DD didn't move her head from my ribs from at least 28 weeks.

LondonGirl83 · 28/06/2016 10:22

spin glad you are being seen today and fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

Ladies, do your partners come to the booking in appointment or do you do that alone?

I've self referred to my preferred hospital and am waiting for confirmation of my slot. Also do they weigh you at the booking in appointment?

FriendlyGhost · 28/06/2016 10:25

Fingers crossed for you Spin. I hope you get good news. You too Dutchy.
I had a previous csection and I definitely want another. I didn't progress past 4cm and my dd was 10lbsShock so I'm probably going have another big baby. There's no way I'm being persuaded otherwise!

FriendlyGhost · 28/06/2016 10:26

London I went on my own last time and will do again this time. There's nothing really for partners to be involved in. They weigh you and take blood I think.

H007 · 28/06/2016 10:45

london I think they like you to do it alone incase there are any abuse issues.

friendly that was the same as me not past 6cm and DD was 10lb6 😬 Any risk of a big baby again and I'm taking an ELC having one as an emergency last time after 2 nights of no sleep and hours or labor was not fun!

H007 · 28/06/2016 10:45

spin finger crossed for positive news

LuckyinOctober · 28/06/2016 10:49

Hi london I went on my own and agree there wouldn't be a role for your partner. They ask you about your relationship and domestic violence, so I'd imagine partners might also be asked to leave part way through. My midwife checked my weight, height, blood pressure and took blood and urine samples. Because I'm on holiday abroad just now she said she'd email me if there were any issues with the results which were due back fri or mon and not heard anything so taking it alls well. 8+5 today. Have an intermittent headache which is rare for me, wondering if it's pregnancy related - anyone else getting sore heads? Good luck spin and duchy
