I felt ok Saturday but yesterday and today I felt very nauseous. I picked up my wedding dress yesterday :0) so excited.

Funtimelem · 11/07/2016 14:36

Does anyone know any pregnancy multi-vitamins that don't contain folic acid. I've been put on 5mg so can't take normal pregnancy vitamins.

LondonGirl83 · 11/07/2016 14:56

Mrs2016-- pregnancy is dated from the start of your last period, not from conception.

If you were measuring 6 weeks and it was 6 weeks from your last period, then everything is as it should be and your 12 week scan will be scheduled appropriately.

12 weeks pregnant does not equate to 12 weeks from conception. Its a bit weird but its just how pregnancy is dated for the reasons people have already said.

Its just the medical measuring convention. I hope that clears it up for you.

Hi ladies I had my booking in appointment today been refered to a consultant due to Edwards syndrome in my first pregnancy.

The midwife remembered me from the day assessment unit from last October which was very surprising.

Great news dutchy

twocatsandatoddler · 11/07/2016 15:19

funtime I'm pretty sure they all will contain it as it's such a key one for foetal development. I think the other key one to take is vitamin D - last time my doctor said taking just those two separately is fine so if you can't find a suitable multivitamin it might be worth taking individual vit D tablets.

gumbootsandjandals · 11/07/2016 16:00

funtime did the Dr specifically tell you not to take a pg multivitamin with folic acid? Just that it's water soluble so you probably can't od on it. Ask a pharmacist?

wispaxmas · 11/07/2016 16:02

CeeCee, my nuchal scan is the same day as yours, but I'll be 12+2 going by LMP and my last scan at 10 weeks. Still very impatient for it to come along. I think Phoebe and Blueskies have theirs this week, but I can't remember which days.

Funtimelem · 11/07/2016 16:13

I have been now prescribed vit D with more folic acid in it. I was worried about an overdose but apparently that isn't possible! Thanks everyone!

TheresaMarie55 · 11/07/2016 16:34

Hi everyone. Went for my first appointment today, had bloods taken, weight, Blood pressure etc. I'm classed as low risk and everything's looking good, booked in for my scan on the 29th when I'll be 13 weeks. Don't need to have the gtt as of yet but coz if two previous big babies if baby measures big on the 20 week scan I'll need it x

MrsM2016 · 11/07/2016 16:37

Thanks ladies for clarifying.

PS. I had bloods taken Sunday but that was it. They didn't do weight or blood pressure. X

twocatsandatoddler · 11/07/2016 17:14

Does anyone know the difference between a glucose challenge and the glucose tolerance test?

At my booking appointment last week the midwife said I have to have a glucose challenge as part of 28 week bloods (standard for everyone at this hospital apparently, didn't have it at my previous hospital) but it's obviously something different from GTT as there was an option to request that as well but the midwife didn't tick it as I have no particular risk factors.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 11/07/2016 17:16

Ooh wispa it's exciting! Just hoping all is well in there! And I'm wondering if my due date will change as the measurement gets more accurate.

Readyfortwo · 11/07/2016 18:05

Had my booking apt with the mw this morn. She put me at 11+1 (a day ahead of where I thought) but called my due date as 1st Feb which is 2 days later than I (and the GP) thought it would be, but confused by that one. I've been put under consultant care due to thyroid & booked in for a GTT at 26 wks due to family diabetes & high birth weight for DS1, so exactly the same as last time. She said I couldn't use mw led birth centre under consultant care, but am pretty sure the consultant will discharge me as I didn't really need it last time & got discharged pretty quickly after a couple of apts.

My biggest concern going into this pg was high birth weight of DS, and the fact they didn't even start induction until I was 14 days overdue & so I ended up with big baby + high risk treatment at delivery for being too far over. At the moment they're not offering me anything different to try and de-risk so am a bit miffed by that. They said they might be able to book me in at 12 days over but the only way they can induce earlier than that is if a consultant recommends it, but I don't think I can ask my thyroid consultant to request an early induction as that wasn't the issue last time. It's going to be a constant worry for me this pg as I really don't want to go through the same ordeal again :-( Does anyone else have a similar experience?

My 12wk scan is 20th July when I'll be 12+3 by mw dates....looking forward to hitting that milestone now!

BohemianRaspberry · 11/07/2016 19:06

Booking in tomorrow and I'm bricking it. I have worked so hard to get my weight down to safe levels (under the 35 bmi and I have lost nearly two stone stone between Xmas and May) but I'm still close to the limit and it's crept up by 1lb this week. Do they weigh you at the surgery or will they take the weight I was a week ago?

ButtonTum · 11/07/2016 19:21

Bohemian I didn't get weighed at my booking appt so they may just rely on you telling mw your weight and bmi?

I've got a date now for dating scan - 1 August (3 weeks) when I'll be 12+3. Pretty close to some others I see. Will be great for all of us to reach that milestone Grin

ButtonTum · 11/07/2016 19:23

Also on symptom watch, my nipples are ridiculously itchy. Had to sit bra and topless all evening yesterday as even feel of cotton bra was driving me mad. Also, massive tummy like I'm 6 months gone, with the bloat

Readyfortwo · 11/07/2016 19:24

I got weighed at my booking, and they didn't seem to give me any allowance for being 11wks pg already which seemed a bit unfair. Fortunately I still came out under the BMI for high risk.

Sunshineface123 · 11/07/2016 20:27

Hi all my scan is end of July but according to my early scan ill only be 10,5. From Lmp it'd be 11,3. Do think it's too early and I should rearrange?

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 11/07/2016 20:40

I got my scan appointment through today - 9th of August! That's aaaages away.
I'll be 13+3!

I'll actually need to rearrange it as DH is away that day, so it might end up later than that! What's the latest they can do the nuchal scan?

I was hoping they would get me in at 12 weeks as we've got SILs wedding to go to at the end of July and there's no way I can get away with not drinking there!

ButtonTum · 11/07/2016 22:07

Ifatfirst I think they go up to 13+6 so if you call to rearrange they'll probably try to get you in earlier

ButtonTum · 11/07/2016 22:08

Sunshine they book dating scans from lmp so they accurately date you at that point as early scans are often less accurate. Good luck with it!

Sunshineface123 · 11/07/2016 22:39

Ah thanks button that makes me feel better! Just have to go and see what happens!

Hazandduck · 11/07/2016 23:46

At my booking in I had apparently grown by 2 cms and lost 5kg since my last BMI pill check a couple of years ago! Pretty sure it'll rocket back up in a couple of months! Don't know how I've managed a growth spurt at 27!

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 06:34

haz she seemed to find an extra 2cm at mine as well! I definitely haven't grown at 32!

Every time I see her my mum keeps going on about how I got 'so big' in my last pregnancy and don't want to put that weight on again, but I was only 1kg over my booking weight last time and a healthy BMI, so I'm just going to grit my teeth and ignore her when she brings it up again.

twocatsandatoddler · 12/07/2016 06:35

I mean I'm only 1kg now over my booking weight from last time
