A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Ready I had a pre-dinner vomit yesterday and peed myself a little.

I was hoping to go back to work today but I feel dizzy and awful. I forgot to wish my husband a happy birthday when I woke up. Then I upset him by apologising for his present before he even opened it. I bought him a wallet online and when it arrived yesterday I knew it was too small. I took all the cardboard bits out of it so I can't really send it back. Really failing as a wife today Sad

Evergreen17 · 11/07/2016 10:04

Thanks Ready that helps Smile

Interesting today I have been feeling like blowing bubbles down there Hmm

twocatsandatoddler · 11/07/2016 10:16

evergreen barring a couple of days last week when I had a cold and felt exhausted, I've been feeling much better since about 8-9 weeks. I remember last time I started feeling better from around 10 weeks. It's normal for symptoms to ease off as you approach 2nd trimester, the timing will be different for everyone though.

SpinALittleFaster · 11/07/2016 10:18

Thinking of you today Dutchy

Hazandduck · 11/07/2016 10:33

After worrying last week because I had sudden energy, my exhaustion came back with full force on Friday and have been shattered all weekend despite sleeping loads! Enjoy the receding symptoms while they last as they may come back and bite you in the ass...my midwife said its totally normal for symptoms to come and go! So I'm taking her advice and just going with it all. X

GinIsIn · 11/07/2016 10:44

CeeCee - that's exactly how I feel. I spent a lot of time yesterday crying about how I wasn't me anymore because I felt so awful. DH helpfully pointed out that it's fine, I wasn't that great to begin with.... Hmm

Still feeling ropey today but nowhere near as bad as Saturday and Sunday at least. Have had to tell HR at work though because I am pretty much a zombie. They were lovely about it, though.

Jojoclaire · 11/07/2016 11:01

I was feeling all chirpy last week as sickness seemed to be easing off but now at 10+4 I feel like death again.

Major headache (went to see secret life of pets at wknd, not sure it helped...) uncomfortable bloating and chucking up regularly, twice today already.

I read it can come back in week 10 then die down, am praying it will, as hols next week... Can't be like this while away, poor DH has been a trooper though.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 11/07/2016 11:35

Ever I'm the same as Haz. I felt positively beansy last week and was worried, then everything came back with a vengeance!

And fenella my DH pretty much did the same. Apparently I've always been moany, but now I have good reason. Cheers darling!

Dutchy88 · 11/07/2016 11:59

So tentative good news. Had my rerescan this morning and sac is catching up with baby (less than a week behind now vs over two weeks behind last time). Baby has done exactly 10 days growing in 10 days and has little arm and leg buds now. Having another scan in two weeks but all looked well today!!

MarjorySunshineDust · 11/07/2016 12:05

Dutchy that's such good news, you must be relieved!

wispaxmas · 11/07/2016 12:05

What a relief, Dutchy!!!

Hazandduck · 11/07/2016 12:06

Ah ceecee sorry you feel like crap! It's annoying because when you feel great and 'not pregnant' you just worry!

dutchy that is great news about your scan, and good that they are seeing you again so quickly. Xx

LondonGirl83 · 11/07/2016 12:24

Yay Dutchy

After you post this weekend I did some research on sac size as I'd never heard of this problem before. Like you say, the fact that the sac is catching up is very good news indeed. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is totally uneventful from here on out.

My next scan is next Monday when I am 9 weeks. My 7 week scan was totally normal so this one is just part of the NIPT blood work I'm doing. Still it will be nice to get another scan before my 12 week scan in August.

I am dying of nausea today. I'm really struggling to do any meaningful work.

PhoebeGeebee · 11/07/2016 12:52

So glad to hear you've had happier and more reassuring news this time Dutchy. Yay for a fast growing sack!

I'm struggling at work today too London, there's just too much going on and we're four members down (in a nine person team). I don't want to act like the first woman in the world to get pregnant but I feel like telling everyone to cut me a bit of slack!

I know part of this is down to scan anxiety nerves too, I just can't wait to get Wednesday out of the way now. Hopefully we'll see a lovely, healthy bubs with a nice strong heartbeat...

CeeCeeEnnEss · 11/07/2016 12:56

Glad to hear your news dutchy Smile

So when are the first 12 week scans? Mine is Friday 22nd, when according to my early scan I'll be 11+2 but the NHS think I'll be 12+4.

MrsM2016 · 11/07/2016 13:07

Hey girls, I am struggling with work today too, and they don't know about it yet. Constant waves of nausea, but haven't actually been sick since yesterday afternoon, so that's progress!! I felt so sick on the way into London this morning though.

I had my bloods taken on Sunday & also got my date for my 3 month scan - 2 August :):):) so excited. Only thing, I haven't got a date to see a midwife yet?

I am so confused on the whole conception thing!! The first day of my last period was 7 May, but I know I 100% conceived on 20th May. Yet, I am apparently 9 weeks today... I don't understand? Can anyone shed any light?

gumbootsandjandals · 11/07/2016 13:21

MrsM because people generally know when their last period was, rather than when they may have conceived, your due date is initially calculated from then. So effectively you are two weeks pg before your egg was caught!

FlipperSkipper · 11/07/2016 13:26

MrsM pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last period, as it's the only thing most people can be certain of. They may then move the due date based on the 12 week scan.

I have a scan tomorrow at 7+2 and I am incredibly anxious, I've had 2 miscarriages before, one of which was a mmc discovered at an early scan (IVF) the other I started bleeding on the day of my early scan at7+5. I just so desperately hope it works out this time, but I have an awful feeling of dread.

MrsM2016 · 11/07/2016 13:32

Thanks ladies, I had an early scan and they put me at 6+1 (I thought I was 4 weeks from when I conceived). So I am worried that at my 12 week scan, I'll actually be 10 weeks.... Ha. I just didn't understand how my baby could have been 6+1 when I conceived 4 weeks ago lol

flipperskipper I am sending you positive vibes for your scan tomorrow! Do let us know how it goes. Thinking of you. X

gumbootsandjandals · 11/07/2016 13:47

Fuming. Just rang MW office as still had not heard from anyone (am 10+3). Whoever answered the phone took my details and is faxing over a scan request today, as this has not already been done, and they aim to scan at 12w. I have been given the mobile number of my MW and told to text her to set up a booking appt. They are certainly a lot less organised than they were 18 months ago Angry I hope they're only like this to women who've already had a baby. If I was a FTM I would feel really unsupported.

PhantomPower · 11/07/2016 13:47

Dutchy - so happy to hear this!
Gives me a glimmer of hope, just don't want to get them too high.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 11/07/2016 13:51

Hey everyone, haven't been on for a few days, was at silver stone for f1 weekend.
Very exciting but very very tiring, my dad came with us and he doesn't know about the pregnancy yet so had to be very secretive about the insane nausea that hit on sat, Sunday I actually sat in a field crying, telling dh I can't possibly carry on like this, he is really loving the hormones right now Hmm
Have my booking in appointment tomorrow, it's at my home which I thought was a bit strange, do they still take blood then or refer you to an appointment at a surgery does anyone know? Think it would feel odd having blood taken in my lounge, At least I can pass out peacefully afterwards though!

I'm so so sorry to hear of the losses Flowers

FriendlyGhost · 11/07/2016 13:54

Dutchy that's fantastic news.
Flipper I hope all goes well tomorrow.
8+6 today and I'm also suffering badly with nausea. I read that for some people sickness starts to ease off around 9/10 weeks as the placenta begins to take over. I think it fully takes over around 12/13 weeks so hopefully some of us will start getting better soon. I'm not holding out much hope for myself because it lasted until 18+ weeks last time. Really don't know how I'll manage another 10 weeks feeling like this if it's the same.
My 12 week scan isn't until the 5th August when I'll be 12+3. So long to wait!

wm3010 · 11/07/2016 13:58

Lovely news Dutchy!

This first trimester stuff is horrible isn't it? We are either feeling crap or worrying about lack of symptoms. I am still in the first category but worry about any changes.

MarjorySunshineDust · 11/07/2016 14:04

Hopefully it will be different this time friendlyghost My morning sickness lasted until at least 20 weeks last time but this time it has really eased off since week 9G. I was expecting it to go on and on again and it actually put me off ttc sooner.

I'm SO grumpy today.

gumboots that is awful service!
