A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Jojo everything crossed for you too!!!

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 13:06

phoebe good luck! I hope it goes well!

jojo eyes, arms and then fingers crossed!

sky sorry I didn't tag you in my above post, but I meant to add that at your booking in appt they should assign you to a MH midwife and she/he will be your point of contact throughout the pregnancy. Mine was lovely, I hope yours is too.

Evergreen17 · 17/06/2016 13:07

Sky that is plain silly that they come with a bob branded envelope!!! Why?!!

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 13:09

I forgot the canines often come in last. My eldest got bottom canines then molars, and one lot of molars then canines on top.

I've managed to eat half of what the 1 yo had for lunch. I made some banana bran muffins but they taste gross to my smell-disordered self. May have to supplement with strawberry milk.

The 1 yo keeps doing massive poos today. I'm putting off changing my 4th pooey nappy. He's also taken to biting my legs and feet and just now kept sticking his thumbs into my belly button. Really need to cut his fingernails!

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 13:14

HighHopes you could say you have a relative coming to stay who has medical issues so just wanted to check re the eggs? Tbh tho, am sure the chances of getting salmonella must be very slim.

Blueskies80 · 17/06/2016 13:55

Hi everyone
Welcome to all the new faces and congratulations!
Gumboots my sense of smell has gone crazy, driving my dh mad by telling him everything smells wrong, the washing machine, conservatory, fridge, most food. Food doesn't taste right either. It makes me feel quite on edge actually!
I am 7 plus 6 today. Exhausted and nauseas. Eating lots of toast to get rid of nausea. So thirsty too!
Booking in went well. Midwives were lovely and listened to my stories of my journey to get to this point.
Hope all having scans get good news!! Fingers crossed xxx

Blueskies80 · 17/06/2016 13:56

Oh and just ordered poached eggs at a cafe by mistake... Whoops... Left most of the yoke Blush

Jojoclaire · 17/06/2016 14:04

Hooray! Scan was good news, heartbeat of 130 and measuring 1cm, phew, can relax and enjoy the weekend a bit more now. Was dated for 2nd Feb.

I highly recommend having one if you can justify the extra cost... I went with babybond and the nurse was really lovely and professional

MarjorySunshineDust · 17/06/2016 14:04

Hi witch I'm also coming off sertraline at the moment on go recommendation. Feel ok at the moment but just realised I have run out of tablets so will be cutting down to nothing a few days earlier than planned! I've been on half a tablet for a week and have had some brain zaps but like you say, it's hard to know what is related to that and what is just pregnancy!
I did the same in my last pregnancy but did end up back on them soon after dd was born, will just see what happens.

Still feeling sick here but today has been one of the better days. I forced down a jacket potato for lunch and I think that helped. Was getting fed up with just eating toast/crisps/haribo! Late afternoon is my danger zone for sickness.

FriendlyGhost · 17/06/2016 14:07

Excellent news Jojo. Really pleased for you. I'm so jealous of all these scans. Mine isn't until the 11th July.

Carly6971 · 17/06/2016 14:19

Our scan also went well. Saw the cutest little heart beat 😊 And measuring at 7.4mm :) back for another scan at 9+4 on 8th July x

Congrats Jojo & Carly - must have been wonderful to see/hear the heartbeat!

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 14:50

Congrats carly and jojo!!

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 15:06

Great news on the scans, ladies! Wednesday cannot come soon enough, I know I had a 6wk scan, but I feel like 8 weeks is so much further.

I'm feeling like crap right now. I pushed myself too hard by walking 3 miles round trip to go to tesco instead of driving because I wanted to get steps after doing NOTHING this morning. I now feel like I'm dying, and I still have to face dinner at the ILs for MIL's birthday this evening. I like my ILs, but it still requires energy to interact with them. We have only gotten her a card and some flowers. I say 'we,' but obviously it was me who bought them, and both are 'from Isla' (DD). ILs are total booze pushers, so I've decided to be designated driver this evening to hopefully dodge drinks. Except that when I normally drive I still have a glass of prosecco or wine with them, and the way I'm feeling now I think even that would do me in!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 17/06/2016 15:12

Yay for the scans! So excited for you both :)

I'm starving today but also feeling lazy and tired. At this rate I am going to balloon!

My productivity has also taken a nose dive, partly because I can't concentrate due to tiredness but also because (and this is bad) work is no longer the most important thing to me while I'm hoping that my pregnancy is viable.

Jojoclaire · 17/06/2016 15:30

Thanks everyone! I haven't had many symptoms, just sore boobs, slight nausea but nothing much, a bit weepy at cute stories on Facebook and a few stretchy twinges. So I was a bit worried, but all seems fine.

Everyone's different but I hope it's reassuring to know that just because we're not all chucking up every half an hour, things can still be fine. Just a waiting game til the next scan! But 95% an actual baby now, phew!

DH really wants to tell his fam tonight but I'm a bit worried about telling mine... My family haven't had a new baby since me (37 years ago!) and my cousin has given up on IVF I think so could be some upset people, and it's still early days. Do you think it's acceptable to tell one side and not the other for a few weeks? They're unlikely to ever come into contact...

HighSparrow · 17/06/2016 15:35

Yay to all the lovely scans!!

I've been inspired and have just booked myself one for when I'm 8 weeks (3 weeks time!) -- can't wait!

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 15:41

jojo, yes, I think that's fine if it's to protect feelings, and also only if you and DP decide together. My friend who's having her scan today had a disagreement with her DH over when to tell their parents. It was silly because she wanted to tell her parents tomorrow morning when they came to their house, and then tell his parents the following day at a family wedding. He apparently got stroppy and demanded they tell both sets of parents at the same time before the wedding when leaving their house, even though her cousins would be there and it would be less possible to pull the parents aside to tell them and they don't want to tell extended family just yet. ONE DAY difference and he was upset. She won the argument in the end, but I think he's still sulking.

Masweetpea1 · 17/06/2016 15:42

Living the scan pics, great news everyone! Mine on 2 July seems so far away now.

I seem to have an aversion to sweet stuff at the mo (most unlike me!). I ate a cake earlier and nearly threw it back up, i can still taste it now, an hour later and ive got a headache now. Ughhhhhhhhh.
CakeCake

Going to get another test tonight as convinced my symptoms are disappearing. Confused

Readytosettle · 17/06/2016 15:43

Great news jojo, am a bit jealous but only a week and 2 days to go til mine now!

Any eggs are fine as long you cook them through.

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 15:55

Fab news on the scans ladies.

jojo we were worried about telling family as one of my SIL is unable to have children. We broke the news of our first pg to PIL and younger SIL in person, as we were staying with PIL at 11 weeks and it felt right. We had to tell older SIL on the phone and she was ok about it.

We had to break the news about dc2 when I was 8 weeks as we were having a family weekend away and I felt so ill. Younger SIL pretty much sniffed me out straight away.

Haven't told anyone about this pg yet. We will wait til were forces to. My parents live abroad and my mum will probably give me a hard time because it will mean we're not going to visit this year.

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 15:56

Apple for the grammar, typing quickly on phone...

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 15:56

Gee bus! *apols

PhoebeGeebee · 17/06/2016 16:00

A third 'yay' on the scan! Hb of 162 and measuring 8+2. I cried. So fucking relieved!
