A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Oh god I've just realised I've done the most STUPID thing!

A pregnant friend of mine mentioned ages ago that it takes over a month to receive a Baby on Board badge. I remembered this when squished on my train yesterday so placed an order (tempting fate, I know Sad). However, the confirmation message said 'it will arrive within 5 days'.

Thing is, the badges arrive in branded packaging. Fine, except I'm away this weekend, and my Mum's at my house to feed my pets. And she will certainly pick up the post. And I promised DH I wouldn't tell her until 12 weeks.

I am SUCH an idiot!! What are the chances it won't arrive until Tuesday?!

Will she jump to conclusions or open it?? Did you know you can just go into a station and ask for one? That's what I did last time no problem and luckily I still have the badge!

Evergreen17 · 17/06/2016 10:11

Damn
I lied and took a test this morning
I am 5+1 so I think good sign Smile

She won't open it, but she'll definitely realise what it is! No, didn't know you could just ask for one Sad. I order EVERYTHING online so didn't even think.

Good news ever.

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 10:26

Hey, if she figures it out she figures it out and you won't have broken your promise to DH, either, because it's not like you've TOLD her!

Ever, definitely a good sign!

HighHopes16 · 17/06/2016 10:27

Oh god I never even thought about the egg thing. I get a weekly dozen from a man at work who keeps chickens so they are definitely not lion stamped. Shock

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 10:52

ever superb! I'm sitting on mine to do next week. I'm resisting every temptation to do it sooner!

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 10:53

sky could you say it is a gift for a friend's baby box??

Witch91 · 17/06/2016 11:21

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking because I have been worried that something will go wrong, but thought I would come out of hiding and say hello waves

I'm 7+1 according to my guess at LMP, we had stopped TTC because I have been struggling with depression over the last few months, but we had a weekend away and it turns out it is true that it only takes the once! Blush.

I am also lowering out and then stopping my sertraline tablets, and a bit concerned about how this will affect me, but seems to be ok so far - although hard to know what is depression and what is pregnancy symptoms!

I am still getting a lot of cramps, and my boobs are really sore. Nausea waves on and off with being starving, so trying to eat when I feel hungry. Think these are all good signs though.

I've got an early reassurance scan next Friday (24th) when I will be 8 weeks, as I knew I would never get all the way round to 12 without driving myself insane. Got my booking appointment scheduled for 10th July.

Exciting times for us all Grin

SkyLucy · 17/06/2016 11:49

Welcome witch! Very exciting - do you know what your due date is (roughly)? Is it your first?

Personally I'm really glad you mentioned depression...I haven't mentioned it in this thread yet but I have been battling it for 15 yrs and am really worried about how being pg (and of course, what comes afterwards), will affect me. I've already had some rough episodes and I'm only 5+3! Did your GP advise you to come off the meds? I actually came off them in preparation for TTC - it took two years for me to come off them, and afterwards my GP said I should have stayed on them (!), because while there was no evidence that taking ADs could be harmful, he was certain that an unwell mum-to-be would be more dangerous. You need to look after yourself.

Fortunately this is a really lovely group, so hopefully that will help! Smile

highhopes the eggs may not be stamped but the farmer may still vax his chickens. Ask!

FriendlyGhost · 17/06/2016 11:58

Welcome newbies!
Gum and Wispa we're suffering with canines at the moment. She was awake crying at 1,2,3 and 4.30am. I need a strong coffee but have already reached my limit today. Feeling very dizzy but it may be mostly tiredness!
I expect the baby on board badge will just come in a tfl envelope. It would be a bit insensitive to mark what it is because a lot of people keep things quiet for a long time. I got mine last time from a tube station. I found that people on mainline trains did their best to ignore it and pretended to be asleep. One day I actually had to ask someone for a seat because I was feeling really faint and her response was 'you're not special you know'Shock

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 11:59

I have a MH midwife as I have a history of eating disorders, and they have an extra care plan that they wrote for my last two pregnancies. In practice, nothing actually happened- but it was there if things had been rough for me to say- oi! I need someone to support me! Which was brilliant.

PhoebeGeebee · 17/06/2016 11:59

Thanks wispa for remembering. Scan is 2.30pm this afternoon and I feel sick with nerves. Got another hour of work to get through, I've been such an unproductive mare since I found out I was pregnant, I literally can't get my brain into gear.

Keep everything crossed for a sticky bubs !

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 12:03

friendly we have skipped canines and premolars and are going straight to molars it seems! How rude. Hope you get thru the day ok.

Best of luck phoebe

Carly6971 · 17/06/2016 12:07

Good luck phoebe mine is at 1:15pm and I actually feel sick I am so nervous!

Jojoclaire · 17/06/2016 12:16

Mine is at 1.20, I'm the same, literally useless today.

Am trying to prepare myself for the worst news, not sure how I'll get through the afternoon back at my desk either way!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 17/06/2016 12:19

Hi everyone,

Can I join you ladies please?
Found out yesterday we are pregnant with baby no.1 and we're so excited, we're also crazy nervous and trying not to get ahead of ourselves, only 4+1 so it's very early days. EDD is 23rd Feb

Only symptoms so far are really painful boobs, like 'do not think about touching me' painful!
Oh and I'm exhausted but have been on the go lately so could be coincidence

Good luck to everyone having their scans today Grin

Masweetpea1 · 17/06/2016 12:22

Good luck to everyone having scans today Smile

HighHopes16 · 17/06/2016 12:24

Thanks gumboots I didn't really want to ask that as it might get people talking!!

Good luck to everyone with their scans- please let us know how it goes!

PhoebeGeebee · 17/06/2016 12:26

Good luck Jojo and Carly. Fortunately I've booked the rest of the afternoon off but we're supposed to be going to friends for the weekend straight after and I just know we'll have to cancel if we don't get good news.

SkyLucy · 17/06/2016 12:32

Loadsa scans, big fx for you all! Phoebe I'm a completely unproductive mare too - I'm actually at my desk now. Done bugger all.

Welcome dreaming!

Friendly, apparently the badges do indeed come in BoB branded packaging...there's a warning on the order form! Can't BELIEVE a woman said that to you - you can only infer from that that she considered herself very special! On the news this morning there was a woman screeching that she 'didn't care about refugees, only my family'....same philosophy eh? Intolerance and apathy. Gah.

Witch91 · 17/06/2016 12:54

Thanks Sky Dr thinks due date is 05/02/16, hoping they will confirm more at the early scan. It is my first pregnancy so it's all very new and scary - the minute I got the result I was panicking about all the stuff I don't know about pregnancy, never mind looking after a newborn!

We stopped TTC when I was put on the tablets, and the intention was to come off them later in the year and then start trying again. Obviously didn't quite happen like that! The Dr advised me to come off them, so I am tapering down and will stop completely next week. I have read online that Sertraline is generally considered to be one of the safer AD's during pregnancy, but Doc was very keen for me to come off completely, so I'm giving that a go and will see what happens.

I'm sorry to hear you've been having rough times - it is so hard :( but as you say, nice to get support from this group. Look after yourself too, extra reasons for lots of self care now!

I have been so unproductive at work since I found out I was pregnant. My brain can't seem to handle anything else at the moment!!

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 12:55

Gum, the canines come after the molars, they're horrid! DD never had problems with teeth until her first molars, but the canines and these last ones are awful! Friendly, you have my deepest sympathies!

Good luck to you, too, Carly and jojo! Not long to wait now.
