A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Gum how far along are you? I had brown spotting for 4 days on week 4 Smile all good now

CeeCeeEnnEss · 17/06/2016 07:01

Morning ladies,

My first ever post, I hope nobody minds me joining the party...

I think I'm 6+6, due February 4th with my first, however my cycles are so nuts that I'm not really sure. Last AF was 25th April but my cycles range from 28 days to 37 days so I've gone with an average.

First MW appointment is 28th June, and apparently all I want to do between now and then is sleep and be cross at everything.

Fx for all the early scans; I haven't decided yet whether to have one but I'm leaning towards yes :)

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 17/06/2016 07:04

Relieved this morning! With the baby I miscarried, I took a CB digi at 4 weeks and at 5. Both said 1-2 weeks. I did get the 2-3 a few days later but that did set alarm bells going... as you should see 2-3 between 4 and 5 weeks. I slammed the tests at the time for causing a panic. Turns out they were right though because the bloods I had at the hospital confirmed the hormone levels weren't rising anywhere near quickly enough. Anyway, since this is a rainbow baby, I have no idea how far along I actually am... I just know it's between 4 and 5... on Saturday I got 1-2. Today I got 2-3. That's a really good sign for me Smile I've already ordered more though so I can get the 3+ Grin since I never saw it last time! I have been worrying about this for the last couple of days, I really don't want to lose this one too... maybe I can relax a bit now!

ScottishSnowflake · 17/06/2016 07:05

Morning all!

Anyone else's lower top half hurting? It's the same sensation as my boobs, so I'm hoping it's just things stretching, but boy does it hurt when I do my trousers up around them Sad pleased to say morning sickness/ dizziness is here too (although not actually been sick).

On the plus side - 6 weeks today and more than 90% chance that I'm going to meet baby. Smile

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 07:25

Gum, judging solely by the number of us here who have had spotting, I would say not to worry!

Ceecee, welcome! I laughed at the 'sleep and be cross at everything' comment- so true! Only 11 days until your appointment now (and mine, too, incidentally), I hope it goes by quickly.

Flying, good news on the rising hormone levels. I'm of two minds about those tests. I love knowing that everything is going in the right direction, but I do think they can cause undue panic. My last pregnancy the weeks took ages to rise, meaning my hormone levels were doubling slower than they 'should have,' but I did have a healthy pregnancy. Still, I did see weeks progress to 2-3 and eventually 3+, but I didn't get the 3+ until I was 7 weeks, so I did worry because of it. This time I got 3+ at 5+3, when I was expecting 2-3, so much easier to take, but I will always warn women that the variation in normal levels is HUGE and the weeks indicator is just an average.

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 07:29

I don't think I'm going to be a functioning human being today- DD is getting her last molars in and was up half the night. And it's raining.

Good luck at your scan later, Phoebe! It's my friend's scan this afternoon, too, so I'm looking forward O hearing how hers goes.

Evergreen17 · 17/06/2016 07:38

Hi CeeCee! Welcome here Smile and congrats Smile my mw appointment is next Friday. Smile

Carly6971 · 17/06/2016 07:42

Please can someone help me to get a grip. So this afternoon is our 6+4 scan to check that out precious ivf baby is viable! I have been excited up until this morning as my sore boobs have wait for it....disappeared!! They were easing off yesterday and now they are gone!! Is this bad?? After one mc I am terrified that it's happening again :( my CB digis are still showing 3+ and my other tests are now much darker than the control line, but sore boobs was my only proper symptom :( anyone think me and my precious embaby will be ok?? Sorry for the pathetic ramble xx

Evergreen17 · 17/06/2016 07:47

Flying glad to hear you are relievedSmile I think I will stay clear of those tests now because if I got the wrong number I would totally freak out. I will wait for my scan in 2 weeks.

I do worry about my hormones not rising and I have decided to see GP on Tuesday because when she did my blood tests and found I had some weird hormone levels (before I was pg) and that I might have PCOS, well I didnt write down or memorised which hormones she mentioned so I am going to see her to ask her.
Do you think she will be crossed? Like I am wasting an appointment just to ask that? Confused

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 07:50

Carly I really wouldn't worry about the boobs thing. As long as your tests are still showing dark lines and 3+ that is a great sign. Breathe deep. I had sore boobs with my first all the way through, my second on and off for the first trimester, and this one they haven't felt sore at all! Each pregnancy is different, each day can feel different.

What can you do that will help you relax? Can you listen to the radio or read a book? Are you at work this morning?

Evergreen17 · 17/06/2016 07:50

Carly my sore boobs come and go
I think hormones rise and go down a lot.
Plus you are going to find out this afternoon so try to take deep breaths. I had a scan yesterday and I was so nervous all morning and in the waiting roomConfused
Try not to read into the boobs thing. Mine are only sore some days Smile

CeeCeeEnnEss · 17/06/2016 08:06

Thank you all for the lovely welcome Smile it's so nice to be amongst other ladies in the same waiting game boat, especially when we haven't told anyone yet so I can't easily explain away my mardiness and nausea.

Carly I'm thinking of you, try not to worry, everything crossed for beautiful news.

JBtulip · 17/06/2016 08:19

Hi can I join you? I've just had a BFP this morning, I'm very excited this is #2 we also have a 3 year old DS. It taken a lot less time than it did with DS. Not sure when EDD will be as I can't remember when my last period was but think I'm about 5 weeks.

Evergreen17 · 17/06/2016 08:20

Hi JB! Welcome and congratulations!! SmileSmile

Readytosettle · 17/06/2016 08:22

Just ate a fried egg sandwich for breakfast & remembered with the last mouthful that you're not meant to eat runny eggs when pg....seem to be forgetting all the rules 2nd time around!!

Birdlet · 17/06/2016 08:26

Ready as long as they're lion stamped eggs (most supermarket eggs are) you should be fine as they're vaccinated against salmonella Smile I know the NHS guidelines still warn against runny eggs but all other sources say that as long as they're lion stamped they're OK Smile
I love a good fried egg sarnie! Think I might have one for breakfast now!

SkyLucy · 17/06/2016 08:46

RE runny eggs...there's a thread raging about this elsewhere in the Pregnancy topic on MN. The report that said Red Lion-stamped eggs are safe (even when runny) was published this January, but the NHS 'foods to avoid' page hasn't been updated since Jan 2015, which I think is the cause of the doubt. Shoddy web management!

How's everyone's nausea? Mine's odd...just constant low-level, with no vomiting. 5+3 today - I've heard it really kicks in at six weeks, so I'm bracing myself!

OP posts:
gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 09:04

Thanks all. I'm 7 weeks today. More brown spotting after I went to the loo an hour ago. Can't tell if I have cramping as I also have a bit of an upset stomach, plus still nauseous despite cyclizine.

Have managed to eat a small bowl of cereal plus half a cup of cold tea.

The youngest appears to be getting molars which explains all the whingeing this week. I will ensure he is well drugged today so we both get to sleep.

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 09:04

Runny eggs are definitely fine. Definitely!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 17/06/2016 09:05

My nausea is on and off. Sometimes I can't face food at all and others I'm fine. It's just the tiredness and the low grade period pain feeling that annoy me the most!

Readytosettle · 17/06/2016 09:06

That's good to hear, it was in the work canteen but got to assume those are lion stamped!

I'm 7+3 sky & nausea hasn't really got worse. Still comes & goes and its def worse when I'm tired/hungry.

gumbootsandjandals · 17/06/2016 09:16

The NHS advice on foods to avoid really irritates me. I think you are more likely to get ill from unwashed fresh produce and deli foods (salads) than eggs and pate. Of course they don't want to tell pregnant women not to eat veg.

Scarydinosaurs · 17/06/2016 09:37

I thought runny eggs were fine too?

I have a bit of nausea now- six weeks tomorrow. I remember it really kicking in 6-10 weeks before.

FriendlyGhost · 17/06/2016 09:40

SkyLucy I'm also 5+3 and have low level nausea that comes and goes. It's worse about 4pm for some reason. Last time I got a headache at about 5 1/2 weeks that didn't go until almost 20 weeks. The constant nausea appeared a few days after the headache so around 6 weeks. At the moment I want it to appear because I'll feel more confident that all is well. I'll be whinging about it when it does though!

wispaxmas · 17/06/2016 09:45

Gum, molars SadAngryWineChocolate

Ready, the only non lion stamped eggs are ones you might buy directly from a farm or farmers market, so I really wouldn't worry. Even if they aren't the risk from runny eggs is SOOOO minuscule.

I'm bad about the rules, though. So many of them are absolute rubbish without proper research to back them, it's scaremongering. I for one am still drinking a couple cups of coffee a day! And I will be having the odd glass of wine or prosecco throughout!
