A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Thanks Gin.
No I don't think you get a day as far as I know? Could be anywhere between 10 and 13+6 apparently, is what my Gp said. Understandably they don't want to do it too early.

PhoebeGeebee · 16/06/2016 11:36

Sending lots of positive vibes for you evergreen

Whoever was asking about the private scan, ours is costing £80 (I'm in the South West) and is tomorrow when I will hopefully be 8+1. I just couldn't bear waiting until 12 weeks, I'm going out of my mind with worry already and although I know seeing a heartbeat tomorrow is in no way a guarantee of a healthy continuing pregnancy, it will at least put my mind at rest for a few hours.

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 11:37

Thank you ladies

Scan is over

I saw my little bean Smile

She said she couldnt comment on viability because too soon but there is a pregnancy sack and it is in the tight place (no ectopic)

She booked another scan in 2 weeks time to see then. She couldnt see my ovaries to diagnose PCOS today because your ovaries change when pregnant.

I am relieved that the bean is in the right place. Time will only tell if it becomes a person or not

Out of my hands now Smile

high yes I am paranoid that my manager will suspect because of so many hospital appointments

But on the other hand I dont care Grin

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 11:40

Marjory was the medication for mental health? Can you call the crisis line? I stopped my medication last year. The first few months are hard but you will get there Flowers

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 11:40

In the right, not tight, place

FriendlyGhost · 16/06/2016 11:48

Brilliant news Evergreen!

Scarydinosaurs · 16/06/2016 11:48

Hoorah for you evergreen!

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 11:55

Thank you!! She only saw the pregnancy sack so not much but she said to the receptionist "this lady is pregnant and we need to book her another scan"
I was like Hmm who me!?
Oh so it must be real

Scarydinosaurs · 16/06/2016 11:59

Amazing Grin

Jojoclaire · 16/06/2016 12:13

Out of interest evergreen did they say if you have to pay for the next one?
I have mine booked for tomorrow (7+3) and on the website it says the purpose is to see the heartbeat and if you don't, they'll scan again later, but not sure if that's a money-making tactic or if it's free?

Mine is £99 in central London by the way for those asking and I just found it online by typing ultrasound London. Seems to be big business!

MarjorySunshineDust · 16/06/2016 12:20

I'm so pleased to read your update evergreen brilliant news!!

Also yes the meds were for depression. Will be fine soon enough I'm sure, just having a tearful day. I was fine during my last pregnancy but did have to go back on them when dd was born.
Think it also hasn't helped this week that we haven't really seen anyone, just been hanging about indoors or in the garden with dd. Must make plans for next week!

gumbootsandjandals · 16/06/2016 12:56

Glad you had a good scan evergreen

A very sympathetic GP has given me a prescription for cyclizine. I told him I was still bf. The insert with the tablets says not to take if bf so I need to check that out further. Hopefully it will be ok if I take the tabs twice a day after bf.

themightymoosh · 16/06/2016 13:22

Great news evergreen Grin

Friendly Due 14th of Feb according to dates.

I think I've said I was waiting until 8/40 before making a booking appointment. Trying to find a number to contact to do so is a bit of a challenge but at some point I'll probably have to do battle with the GP phone line. Urgh.

My parents know, as does someone at work and I'll probably end up telling a couple of friends because they'll ask and my poker face needs some development...

wispaxmas · 16/06/2016 13:24

Button, I googled private pregnancy scan and found loads of places offering them. Last time I had one in London for £95 I think, this time I've opted for one just outside London for £60 and kicking myself for paying so much last time!

Chozzle, theres no way!! Hopefully she was writing to little finger so the knights of the vale will show up in the nick of time!

Evergreen, glad everything seems ok for now, and hope the next 2 weeks go by quickly!

I've had a very trying morning, mainly down to DD getting some molars in. We were out and I actually had to stop to buy her calpol as she was just so miserable Sad. She is sleeping now and while I would normally be getting things done whilst she naps I am just shattered and recovering from the stress of this morning. I'm so not reaching my step goal today...

SBSparkles · 16/06/2016 14:02

Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well? So I'm 6+5 today and went for my scan. The baby is doing well and has a little heart beating away! The nurse said it is actually measuring at 7 weeks so is growing well!! I got home but feel incredibly sad. My dad died ten years ago and my mum died just over a year ago and I am just aching to tell her. I feel so sad she never knew a grandchild. I want to feel really happy and my DH is jumping for joy but I just feel overwhelmed! Sorry if this is a bit too deep or gloomy. Xx

Kellz92 · 16/06/2016 14:14

Thank you for all the thoughts. Seen the baby with an external scan. But did an internal one to see the heartbeat. The baby is fine and the bleed was most likely my cervix is irritated. But they are happy I went in and said if it happens again to call again xx

Due in February 2017...thread #2!
Kellz92 · 16/06/2016 14:15

I'm measuring 5-6 weeks so slightly behind what I thought but she can't tell for sure AI said to use my lmp until my 12 weeks scan xx

Masweetpea1 · 16/06/2016 14:18

Hey sparkles , I'm a little the same, except its my grandad, we were very very close. He died a year before we got pregnant the first time, so now we're pregnant again he's very much on my mind. I like to think he's up there watching and absolutely delighted with his great granddaughter and bump. Halo

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 14:52

Jojo I am not paying (I dont think) because the reason why they booked me for this one is because I have had trouble (or suspected) trouble with my ovaries and cervix so I think free Smile

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 14:53

Jojo I think they say that because sometimes it is not possible to see it and they want to warn you in advance that it means that you will need another scan but not necessarily anything wrong with it

Lykke1000 · 16/06/2016 14:55

I've booked myself a Bootcamp class tonight.. Planning to be sensible. I'm 5weeks now and have no symptoms apart from sore breasts. What do you reckon? Should I definitely mention it to the instructor? She never asks. And then going on holiday for a week by plane. Sounds sensible to me.. So far

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 14:56

Thanks Marjory. I hope you slowly get used to the withdrawal. We are here if you need to chat Smile
Mental health stuff can be a lonely place, dont let it SmileFlowers

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 15:01

Thanks wispa Smile
Sparkles that is amazing!!!! And ok to be sad Smile I miss my dad lots and yes if I think about it .. Sad So I allow myself to be sad when needed Flowers

lykke I would mention it. Also because she would like to know for herself so she can help you better . Your joints might be tender now and you dont want to risk it. Maybe she wont change a thing but I would say

ButtonTum · 16/06/2016 15:03

Wispa well done for managing to get one for £60! I am just outside London ( Herts ) & still can't didn't scan cheaper than. £99. Obvs not Googling hard enough

Lykke I also wondered the same thing. DH is so nervous and insists we don't tell a soul but were I to pass out in the gym I would have thought it a good idea to tell instructor. They do encourage it in Ts & Cs but likewise my gym never asks. If I get an early scan in next couple of weeks I guess I'll tell them after that. I'm taking it easy in the meantime though

gumbootsandjandals · 16/06/2016 15:05

Glad the bean looks good kellz.

lykke boot camp should be ok. You can't do much damage exercising in the first trimester. Flying is ok too Smile
