A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Weird, I can still post in the old thread. Could the difference be platform? I'm posting from the app on an iPad. Maybe it's just the web version that caps a thread at 1000 posts?

Anyone else finding yourself yo-yoing between no appetite for anything and suddenly being RAVENOUS? At lunch time today I had to force myself to eat, even though I'd only had a yogurt at breakfast and then very suddenly around 4pm I was suddenly so hungry I scoffed 1-1/2 hamburgers leftover from dinner last night. And then ended up having to make dinner for DH and DD and didn't have any myself. The burger was so not healthy compared to the veg-heavy dinner, but it just isn't appealing to me. Oh well!

Evergreen17 · 15/06/2016 20:05

Chozz We are not telling anyone apart from OH and 2 good friends
We are quite private anyway Blush
But it is way too early for me. 5 weeks tomorrow
Wont be telling mum until 13 weeks
You are welcome Ready Grin
I didnt think you get a bump at 12 weeks Hmm oh dear

Kellz best of luck tomorrow!

wispaxmas · 15/06/2016 20:06

Ma, you should definitely see something at 7+6. A heartbeat is sometimes visible at 5-6 weeks on a transnational scan!! I had a scan at 8 weeks on the dot last time and they were able to do it transabdominal and see everything and hear the heartbeat easily, I wouldn't worry unless you're unsure of your dates. Even so I do know of one person who went for an early scan and the sac measured 2 weeks off her dates and they told her it wasn't good news, to wait 2 weeks and come back and when she came back the baby had grown so it was only a few days behind the original dates. U/S scans aren't the most reliable things in the world, even if they can be an invaluable diagnostic tool.

highsparrow, don't worry if you get 2-3 - I didn't get 3+ until about 7 weeks last time! Oh, and I am so sick of your namesake on GoT Grin

ChozzleopsTheThird · 15/06/2016 20:08

Thank you Lucy will give the gp a call tomorrow and see what they say.

Feeling so sick and tired, not even missed my period though, it's not due till Monday! Too early for symptoms!

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 15/06/2016 20:09

OMG Wispa yes! I'll be starving all morning then as soon as I'm ready to have my lunch, I won't feel like it. Or I won't be that hungry when my tea is put infront of me, but as soon as I have one mouthful, it's like the floodgates have opened and no amount of food is enough! My sense of smell is still absolutely crazy as well. Some smells I just won't register and others are overwhelming. I am so glad we are allowed to eat nuts because all I've wanted to do is nom on salted nuts Grin

LuckyinOctober · 15/06/2016 20:20

wispa and flying I'm with you on the weird fluctuating appetite thing. I have to force feed myself breakfast in between dry retching, then feel better for a while, nausea fades by lunch it seems so I can eat that OK other than for food aversions which are random and unpredictable (kale, mushrooms and mash so far), I then feel ravenous for an afternoon snack (craving crisps) from 3.30 then don't have much appetite for dinner, when nausea returns - going by yesterday and today anyway, it's a changing picture.

My nose unfortunately can't stand the cleaning fluid used at work which is not helping nausea there.

Also thanks wispa for posting about the reassuring stats for 7 weeks, I'm 7 weeks tomorrow so found that happy reading!

Good luck for tomorrow kellz that's reassuring your bleeding has stopped.

HighSparrow · 15/06/2016 20:22

wispa ah thanks, if I don't get 3+ I won't stress too much about it then but I'll buy more!!
Yep - high sparrow needs to go!! I LOVE GoT!

chozz I was extremely tired about 7dpo - 14 dpo, I've been better the last few days. But it was unusual for me to go to bed by 9pm and sleep until 8am the next day!

Oh - also forgot, still have horrible backache...and aching legs...more so in the evenings, anyone else suffering?

Sienna9522 · 15/06/2016 20:25

First day back in work today, really busy and I loved it! It was so good to not have pregnancy anxiety on my mind at all! And I felt like me again. Work is definitely going to get me through these first precious weeks.
4+3 today. Had GP app yesterday. He just give me an EDD, talked about the harmful effects of nicotine and alcohol and finally, asked me to confirm the pregnancy with a urine test which I handed in to reception to be sent to the labs. Will be seeing the midwife on the 14th July when I will be 8+4.

HighSparrow · 15/06/2016 20:26

kellz good luck for tomorrow. Loads of people spot throughout and are still fine. Try to stay relaxed. By the way, your cheapie is probably the most pregnant cheapie I've ever seen!!

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 15/06/2016 20:27

HighSparrow I'd love to know what Margaery is up to! Next week's episode should be a bloody good one as well.

I haven't had backache or achey legs but my hips have been on and off sore for a couple of days. Totally get you about the feeling tired thing. All day I've felt exhausted, definitely having an early night tonight!

FriendlyGhost · 15/06/2016 20:31

Evergreen I'm having my scan at peek-a-baby in Mitcham which is near Croydon. I can't wait!
I'm using the web browser on my phone and it wouldn't let me post the link when I tried earlier. Must be that the app still works.
I'm telling my parents when I'm 7 weeks and my in laws after the scan at 8 1/2. Not going to tell anyone else until after the 12 week one. SkyLucy I told my boss earlier than some family last time because my job involved surveying potentially hazardous sites. He had guessed anyway!
I'm also going off some foods. I chucked a load of roasted veggies yesterday because they smelled funny. I usually love them. I'm also finding I'm hungry but feel sick if I eat much. Little and often is the way forwards.

LaceyLee · 15/06/2016 20:33

Hi all and thanks for the new thread. I am mostly just hungry at the moment as eating seems to stop the nausea 😳
I swear I am showing and I'm only 6+1!!! I must either be bloated, fat (or both) but clothes are definitely getting tighter!! Hope I'm not the only one. This is 2nd time round for me, hardly showed til 20 weeks last time round!

Birdlet · 15/06/2016 20:38

Hi all!!

Got our BFP 2 weeks back - quite the shock since May was our first month ttc (honeymoon) Grin never expected it to happen so soon!

Had to go for early scan on Tuesday as had had some bleeding but all good news at the scan - saw our baby's heartbeat flickering away which was SUCH a relief GrinGrin Sonographer estimate is about 6 weeks so puts out due date around Feb 7th.

Have told both our parents, my best friend and my work. Had to tell boss as I've been feeling so dreadful, constant nausea, she knew there was something wrong anyway! And my work can be quite physically demanding which I wanted to limit as much as possible.

Booking appt next week, can't wait for the 12 week scan so we can tell everyone Smile

HighSparrow · 15/06/2016 20:47

flying definitely up to something!! She def doesn't believe in it. Next week should be awesome, but the final the week after should be epic! Grin

Welcome lacey and bird

So is everyone having early scans? Sounds like a lot of us are. I've not decided yet - want to get to 6 weeks and then perhaps book something for 8 weeks.

Birdlet · 15/06/2016 20:58

Don't think I'd have had one had I not been referred by my GP Sparrow although it finally feels real now! Also nice to know there's definitely a reason for wanting to punch anyone who come within 3 metres of my boobs 😂

SkyLucy · 15/06/2016 20:59

I'm not having an early scan highsparrow - if I had good news from a scan at 8 weeks, I'd only worry that something's gone wrong between then and 12 weeks! Such a worrier. Need the scan before 5 Aug because we're going to a wedding, and I'm buggered if I'm going to pretend I'm drinking orange juice for any other reason! So, would book private scan if NHS can't fit me in before then.

You are welcome lucy Smile
I had sugar cravings tonight Confused but this is not unusual Grin

Masweetpea1 · 15/06/2016 21:21

Thanks wispa, I'm certain of my dates, this was all planned like a military operation. No romance involved GrinWink
skylucy My oh and a friend know (only cos i was sick in front of her!). We'll be telling parents at 11 weeks, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to hide it that long. At 5+3, i appear to have a mini bump. I didn't show last time until 14 weeks.
I'm going to have to tell my boss too, as I'm returning from maternity leave on 4 July, so i suspect she will guess when she sees me! Blush

Bubbles2017 · 15/06/2016 21:25

I found you all! Congratulations everyone. Due date 8th - according to due date calculator x

Evergreen17 · 15/06/2016 21:29

Thanks for the scan info friendly Smile

Wow Bird! First try really! Wow. How exciting about the heartbeat SmileSmileSmileSmile

gumbootsandjandals · 15/06/2016 21:34

Have been feeling sorry for myself today. I have 24/7 nausea. When I get up in the morning it gets worse. Took me half an hour to eat a small bowl of cereal and yoghurt (altho to be fair it was probably a normal serving for most people). Nausea eased off. Did half day at work. Picked up kids. Kids v demanding (dc2 v tired). Dropped dc1 to preschool then put dc2 down for a nap. Fancied one myself but them remembered hadn't eaten, so forced some cheese on toast down. Tried to nap. Couldn't. Nausea increasing by the minute. Picked up dc1 who'd been given b'day cake to take home school. Cake eaten. Child went crazy. I cried cooking dinner due to crazy child screaming and dc2 whingeing the whole time. I have a smell disorder and the meal absolutely stunk and I cried because I would have to eat it too. Texted hubby to say I was struggling. No response. Fed children. Dc1 refused to eat dinner. Dc2 ate but whinged between mouthfuls. Put children to bed. Husband rang to say he was leaving work. I cried and told him I was going to bed. Went to lie down. He came home, reheated dinner, which I tried to eat with a nose clip on as it just smelt revolting. Didn't quite work. Only ate half. Now am supposed to be having an early night but SIL is texting me. Still feel nauseous and now the house smells of freshly baked bread which to my poor self smells awful.

Sorry for the moan!

I saw an ENT specialist about my smell (and taste) problem last week and he says I need an MRI but they won't do that when I'm pregnant. I'm struggling to eat due to nausea as it is, but as most food also smells and tastes bad this is also having a detrimental affect on my intake. I am also still bf so am worried there will be nothing left of me in a few weeks. Gah!

Evergreen17 · 15/06/2016 21:40

Oh no Gum! You had an awful day! You managed to get through all that wow. Have an early night Smile

I have nada nausea (fx) but I did catch a cold at work and my throat is so sore but I cant take anything for it!
I work presenting so tomorrow will be an interesting day with my throat on fire

Scarydinosaurs · 15/06/2016 21:44

I've got lots of close friends that I've shared with- but they knew we were about to start trying, so have been incredibly supportive throughout!

My DH is stupidly excited, so he blabs to everyone 😳.

After worrying throughout my first two pregnancies I'm trying very hard to just stay chilled about it all.

Birdlet · 15/06/2016 21:44

Oh Gumboots you poor thing! Sending you FlowersFlowers

Evergreen think hubby is still shell shocked bless him Grin hahahaha

GinIsIn · 15/06/2016 21:47

Helloooo! Late to the party - sorry! Blush 6 weeks today! Had first doctor's appointment yesterday, he kept telling me my priority should be pregnancy yoga. Seemed a bit shocked when I told him my current priority was hula hoops.....
