A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

I hope you get good news tomorrow Hope. If this thread is anything to go by then a bit of bleeding isn't usually a problem.
The referendum has definitely taken my mind off things Jojo. I'm exhausted and should be asleep but want to stay up for the first results. The only good thing about two night feeds is that I'll be able to catch up on the news then!

Penguin90 · 24/06/2016 00:05

Hi, would I be here? Or in the March group? I did this, this morning!!!

Due in February 2017...thread #2!
Hazandduck · 24/06/2016 00:57

When was your last missed period penguin? Congratulations! :)

I know I shouldn't have but I just watched videos of how to use the Doppler thing and as we watch the referendum results come in me and fiancé decided to have a wee listen...and we found the heartbeat way down on the left pretty much in my pants haha! Had to listen to some online to make sure it wasn't just some weird thing but it was a definite galloping little beat! Oh I could just burst with so much love right now! Sorry I'm feeling emotional!

HighSparrow · 24/06/2016 05:05

Gosh so much to catch up on!!

Congrats to the newbies!

Flowers to those of you going through it at the moment. Keep positive and take it easy :)

friendly me too, I woke up early, checked the news and not been able to sleep since :(

So 6+0 today Grin. Food aversion has kicked in and I can only eat beige food Confused

Dutchy88 · 24/06/2016 05:29

Hi guys I've been following along but not writing as not much to add. I've had no bleeding for well over a week and am still getting positive tests but CB digi hasn't gone up beyond 2-3 (it hasn't gone down either though). I've got no symptoms apart from being tired and that could just be an end of term thing. Rescan on Tuesday and this has been the longest two weeks waiting to find out of my life.

Readyfortwo · 24/06/2016 05:35

Oh lordy....just when I thought things were going ok we go and vote to leave the EU. I work in sales so now my job and definitely my bonus is at risk. People really didn't think about what this is going to do to people's livelihoods & to the prices of our goods. Gutted. PS. Get out & buy all your baby stuff now as its about to get very expensive!

FriendlyGhost · 24/06/2016 05:52

HighSparrow I can't sleep either. WTF. I'm hoping that my tired brain is playing tricks on me. I'm not going to be able to watch the news today in case I see Farage's smug face. If anything will make me vom that willSad
Dutchy it must be so tough waiting. Fingers crossed for you. It sounds positive that your hormone levels haven't dropped.

Readyfortwo · 24/06/2016 05:56

Don't even get me started on Farage. Talk about kicking you when ur down. We're going to have to look at his smug face all day!

SkyLucy · 24/06/2016 06:40

In good news, I'm 6 weeks today. In truly awful news, I'm appalled by my country. Devastated.

twocatsandatoddler · 24/06/2016 06:45

sky tell me about it. I've got a Dutch passport and seriously considering fleeing the country - don't think I want to stick around in a UK with Boris and Nigel in charge Sad

Dreamingoutloud7 · 24/06/2016 07:06

Morning sickness has kicked in today, oh no wait that's just the effect of the eu results Sad
Sorry to offend anyone it's just I work in sales for a French company, that's a subsidiary of a German company and was hoping to buy our first house next year for baby arrival. So I guess I'm a bit up in the air right now, not what you need at 5 weeks pregnant.

Hazandduck · 24/06/2016 07:19

Horrified by the result, as everyone I know seems to be. I am slightly scared about what world my little one will be born in to :( genuinely never thought Farage and co would win.

Jojoclaire · 24/06/2016 07:28

I'm not sure if I have morning sickness or am in shock with the result. Just on my way into work to send out an email to all our clients (financial services investors) to let them know it's not going to be a pretty picture.

GinandJazzHands · 24/06/2016 07:33

Woke up and cried at the result. What are we bringing our little ones into? Sad

GinandJazzHands · 24/06/2016 07:34

haz that's great news about the heartbeat! How many weeks along are you? Too early for me to get one yet.

Readyfortwo · 24/06/2016 07:48

dreaming I work in sales for a US company that imports from the Far East so feeling ur pain right now. It's going to be a tough few years.

Itslittlek · 24/06/2016 07:50

I'm 9 weeks today and feeling awful...anyone having a horrible muzzy headache?!

wispaxmas · 24/06/2016 08:05

I was about to say the exact same thing about not being sure if this is morning sickness or just shock.

I'm not sure I'll be sticking around in the UK now. I'm not from the EU, but I'm still an immigrant and I'm just overwhelmed by the anti-immigration sentiment recently.

Sorry, don't want to bog down this thread.

8+2 today. Finding it difficult to get out of bed and I've been awake for over 2 hours.

Witch91 · 24/06/2016 08:13

I'm also shocked and upset by the result today.

Trying to put it behind me though, as today is the day of the early scan Grin it's going to take a long time to get to 17:30! 8+1 today, really hoping everything is ok in there.

Masweetpea1 · 24/06/2016 08:39

Also shocked by the result. Facebook is rife with comments today about it. Haven't yet heard of anyone i know that voted out..... So who the hell actually voted out?!!!

More positive news, no Brown spotting this morning. Fingers crossed it stays that way

Happy friday everyone! Grin

Witch91 · 24/06/2016 09:24

I still find the date and number of weeks thing really confusing.
I now understand that you count the weeks you are pregnant at the end of the week - like your age, and that you start at the date of your LMP, therefore my LMP was 28/04/16, therefore I am 8 weeks and 1 day. Is that right?!

But then what week should I be looking at on things like the Mumsenet week tracker?! I've had 8 full weeks of pregnancy, and am therefore at the start of week 9. So should I be reading week 8, or week 9?!?!

Does anyone else find this really hard to get your head around or is it just me?!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 24/06/2016 09:34

witch it works like age I guess, so I'm 29 so that means I'm in my 30th year of life, when I turn 30 that means I have completed 30 years (gulp!)
So yeah if your 8+1 then you are in your 9th week.

I don't think I've explained it very well but I hope it helps a little!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 24/06/2016 09:36

Sorry witch just realised I've worked it out the same as you, so you knew that anyway Blush

I guess if your 8+1 then everything they say happens in week 8 has already happened and everything that happens by week 9 is currently happening.

Scarydinosaurs · 24/06/2016 09:50

Woke up feeling incredibly sick this morning (won't go into all the reasons why) legs aching from the squats yesterday so did 7 minute arms and now about to have a fried egg sandwich.

I'm 7 weeks on Sunday. I'll be really happy to get to 8 weeks Smile

haz that is amazing about the heartbeat!!

Sorry to hear about your worries dutchy I really hope you get good news next week.

littlek I have had the headache too! And so dizzy! I'll be so pleased to get to the blooming stage- my skin is such a mess!

LondonGirl83 · 24/06/2016 09:52

Hi all-- just to say sympathies to those of you now in limbo at work. I cried also when I saw the results.

I don't think I'm at risk but also work for an investment fund and a bunch of our investors have withdrawn capital they had gotten board approval to allocate subject to BREXIT (I'm talking hundreds of millions for just one of our funds). This feels like such a weird time to be pregnant.

Masweetpea1 Old people overwhelming voted out and younger people voted in. I think that's why for so many of us in our 20s and 30s its such a terrible shock.

Witch so excited about your scan! Fingers crossed for you.

I've told work I'm pregnant now (before I intended to) so I have additional employment protections. I know that's cynical but I absolutely cannot lose my job while expecting a baby. We need my income. It feels horrible using my little baby for job security though.
