A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

I'm quite scared for myself because they showed me the screen and the clot is massive. I got the impression that the clot is just a random thing with no explanation. On the plus side, they saw evidence of a yolk sac, so at least it's not another blighted ovum.

LondonGirl83 · 23/06/2016 16:34

Flying glad the scan still showed there's hope. I'm keeping my fingers crossed you have a good scan and everything works out.

HighHopes16 · 23/06/2016 16:48

That makes complete sense! Thanks for explaining Lucy & London :)

I am feeling very uncomfortable in my tights today as they keep digging in at the waistband, may have to go up a size soon!

FriendlyGhost · 23/06/2016 16:50

Flying that must be scary. At least you're being monitored now. Fingers crossed this little one holds on tight!
High it can feel like years. Especially if you go overdue!

Masweetpea1 · 23/06/2016 17:04

flying, pleased its good news for today, you're still pregnant!

Fingers crossed the clot doesn't move. I think a girl at my work had similar and they monitored her from very early on as well, scans every week. She's now got a bouncy baby boy. Hoping it'll be the same for you. Smile

Sienna9522 · 23/06/2016 17:28

Scary I haven't but that sounds useful. I have the Baby Centre app which is quite good.

user1466330715 · 23/06/2016 17:53

Am freaking out. 8 weeks tomorrow and had a private scan all booked for next Thurs but noticed slight brown in my knickers today and has now progressed to pinkish/red on the pad and when I wipe.
Apparently this was when something went wrong for me last time and had a 'missed m/c at 12 weeks'. Don't think I'm going to get good news at EPU tomorrow as its happening pretty much the same time as back in Nov :(
Hard to stay positive but you never know - please keep your fingers x for us.

PS How do I change my 'name' from User146...???

Evergreen17 · 23/06/2016 18:07

Thank you everyone
I have a history of mental illnesses so I am a bit beyond the positive thinking attempt.
I do practise meditation though. And yoga and mindfulness. I have been doing a bit today.

Luckily we know that if a miscarriage was to happen it would be due to genetics or other conditions so I know that my anxiety won't hurt the baby. This is a relief.

The only way I will get some sort of relief is by getting that scan next week. Until then I am just trying to cope.

I think hormones are to blame at the moment

Thanks everyone SmileFlowersFlowers

Evergreen17 · 23/06/2016 18:21

Highhopes thinking of you and the scan. Best of luck. Let us know how it goes.Flowers
Spin same to you, good luck, we are thinking of you Smile
Flying sorry to hear about the clot. It might all be fine of course but what a difficult situation to be in Sad I hope time flies and next week scan comes soon for you. And yay about not blighted.
User (yes you need a nicer name Smile) try not to worry too much about the spotting. Lots of people have said they have had it. And you havent said that you had any cramping with it either. I hope they can reassure you tomorrow at the EPU

Whoever thought that the first trimester would be such a rollercoaster of emotions?

LondonGirl83 · 23/06/2016 18:29

user some spotting and bleeding can be quite normal. How do you feel otherwise? If you still feel pregnant then I'd be optimistic

user1466330715 · 23/06/2016 18:35

deffo need a better name - user whatever is crap!

had quite a lot of cramping in the past few weeks and felt a little sick and tired but nothing major. When I was prejudgers with my DS back in 2012 by the 2nd month I felt ROUGH and haven't had that in the last preg or this one.
I think am just massively anxious as its all looking like the same thing as what happened before. The worst bit last time was going in for the scan at 12 weeks (after a bleed started) and seeing the scan picture on the screen in front of me. Cant get that image out of my head. Was having a really hard time of dealing with it emotionally back in May with my due date of June 2nd coming up. Then found out that week we were preggers and so that really helped take my mind of it all.
Thanks for your kind words, am praying this time round will be different. Will keep u posted X

user1466330715 · 23/06/2016 18:36

preggers nor prejudgers (duh!)

CeeCeeEnnEss · 23/06/2016 18:40

Thinking of you flying, so tough. But as the others have said, today you are pregnant.

I was going to go to the gym but instead I came home, voted and then we got chippy tea! Bad! But it's the biggest meal I've had in a while so hurrah, even if now I just want to fall into a coma.

SpinALittleFaster · 23/06/2016 19:01

Good luck tomorrow too high. As the others have said, the average month is 4.33 weeks since the only month with 4 weeks exactly is Feb (obviously not this year!). Months and weeks really can't be directly compared and you're much better using calendar months OR weeks :).

flying I really hope all is ok. Try not to worry too much before your next scan. What will be will be but hopefully good news.

GinandJazzHands · 23/06/2016 19:31

Hi all just playing catch up. All fine here, a mere 5+2, teeny bit of nausea I'm treating as a good sign.
flying that all sounds so stressful. Hopefully though if the clot stays put at some point the baby will get big enough that it won't matter? Thinking of you.

GinandJazzHands · 23/06/2016 19:34

user just had a cheeky look - if you click on 'my mumsnet' then go into 'my account' you can change your username there by typing in whatever you want. Crossing fingers hard for you as this must be a stressful time. So many women on here are bleeding and fine so there's every chance that is you this time around. Flowers

Readyfortwo · 23/06/2016 19:48

Ooh thanks gin, just updated mine as readytosettle was a bit outdated!

wispaxmas · 23/06/2016 19:57

user, if you use the talk app, just click on the top right of the main screen, then 'my mumsnet' and it comes up.

user hope you'll feel better knowing where you stand after the epu, with my previous MCs the worst bit was the uncertainty and doubt before. Also worth remembering every pregnancy is different.

flying that's a difficult position to be in but today you are pregnant and there is hope.

I've survived a long haul flight without too much drama, although the full breakfast served at the end was not good for my morning sickness. A bit concerned I might have early symptoms of a UTi but that could just be my body being irritated by constantly wee-ing. Had my booking appt before the flight so gave a urine sample there, and they said they'd contact me if there were any issues. In the meantime going to drink lots of water and hope it's all ok. 8+1 today.

gumbootsandjandals · 23/06/2016 20:15

Fx for you flying that the clot reabsorbs and bean grows big and strong.

I'm still suffering with nausea and unable to eat or drink much. I'm also occasionally vomiting in the evening (note: sour patch kids taste very sweet when they come back up even a couple of hours later). GP has given me a script for a different drug - metachlopramide - but I'm a bit scared to take it. Need to do some research.

I'm usually quite fit. Walk everywhere and gym 3x a week. Last pg I was at the gym a week before I had my baby. However, I did have a break from weeks 6-16 as felt too ill to work out. I did get my fitness back really slowly though. Ff to this pg. I'm exhausted and walking half the speed I normally would. I haven't been to the gym for 2 weeks and have pretty much signed myself off til the second trimester.

Youngest had MMR etc jabs today and obvs has sore legs so was unsettled all day the poor bugger. Hopefully I won't be doing any Calpol dosing in the middle of the night.

Jojoclaire · 23/06/2016 20:28

flying I hope you're ok, that sounds very unlucky and stressful. I hope you can stay strong until the scan... And user it seems like a lot of people here have spotting, much more than the average no of m/cs so I hope it's ok. Do you like marmite incidentally? Hmm

Thanks for all the nice reassurance that not exercising is ok for now. I've come across a pregnancy Pilates course I fancy near work but we're about to move and my gym membership has been cancelled so will have to wait till we move before I can get to a pool or something.

Am feeling better now too thanks, just glad to know there's somewhere at work to go for a lie down if necessary!

Has everyone managed to get out to vote today? The referendum chat definitely took my mind off feeling poorly today.

hopeforme · 23/06/2016 20:57

Formally User...

Thanks ladies, am hoping to change the name again soon ;)

It is reassuring to read the more positive threads about bleeding. The good news is that its not getting any worse BUT it is very similar to my last time and I can't get my mind of it till the visit to EPU tomorrow.
So weird that both happening at the 8 week mark.

emzmeister · 23/06/2016 21:17

Just catching up a bit, hope you're feeling okay Flying, we're all with you xx

I'm a keen exerciser too and hoping I'm doing the right amount now, have reduced my 3x6k runs a week to 3x6k walks and changed my 3xfitness dvd sessions to a special pregnancy fitness dvd (Michelle Heaton, have been impressed so far).

So hard to know if you're overheating or doing an acceptable amount so hope this is alright!

Kellz92 · 23/06/2016 22:57

Flying came back on before bed to see if you had been on. Try rest as much as possible and I hope the clot reabsorbs honey.

Hopeforme I hope everything goes well. I had brown spotting for two weeks, have had two days off from it, and last week I had a bit of pink/red and everything is fine so try not to stress, easier said than done I know!!

Xxx

H007 · 23/06/2016 22:58

hav breathlessness can be related to low iron.

flying sorry your scan wasn't more positive, but at least at this point it's equally not negative. Take it easy for the next week and let's hope that clot sorts itself out.

Fx to everyone who is having early scans.

I feel like I've got a visible belly, surely it's too soon.
