A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Morning all, woke up to the shocking news of Brexit - I really wasn't expecting that.

Then went to my scan and it sounds like bad news. :( The scan I had 10 days ago was dated at 5.5/6 weeks and its only progressed in size to 6.5 weeks. They did an ultrasound to start with and saw no heartbeat then did an internal & saw a very slow heartbeat. I asked the nurse what her honest opinion was & she said I am likely to miscarry soon as foetus' at this stage usually have a very fast heartbeat. I have to go back in a weeks time (which I think will be the longest week of my life!) to see if the heart has stopped or not. I'm now sat at my desk holding back tears. :(

Blueskies80 · 24/06/2016 10:13

Highhopes I am so so sorry to hear that Flowers it is just devastating to find that out. I have been there twice before and it hurts so much. Look after yourself xxx

I am shocked by the result. I have been insulated from the debate in the sense that I live in a very pro remain area. It is so upsetting to see what is happening. Lots of mums at school are from Around Europe particularly Poland and it must be so hard for them with the uncertainty. The economic and political consequences will be huge. Sympathy to all those who have this uncertainty now with their jobs.

Kellz92 · 24/06/2016 10:15

Morning everyone, i must be the only one not upset by the results, i put a lot of thought into my vote but hey ho. Fed up of all the arguments about it on my facebook already!!

Thats two days i have had no more spotting so hopefully it lasts. feel really sick today despite having the tablet :( i have my midwife next Thursday cant believe how quick its come round xx

Hazandduck · 24/06/2016 10:28

Thanks gin and scary well I think I am 8weeks and 1 day but hearing the heartbeat last night I am wondering if I got it wrong and am further along? As have read everywhere that it's really unlikely to hear it so soon! We have an early scan on Tuesday so hopefully then I will know! I only came off the pill in Feb/March and used other contraception kind of so hadn't even had a proper period really just a really light bleed in late April, as I was on a pill you just take continuously and don't bleed. So I'm really not 100% sure lol!

Everyone in this feed obviously voted remain, as did most of my friends, I'm just a bit surprised at the outcome really!

Hazandduck · 24/06/2016 10:29

kells sorry just saw your post, won't judge anyone for their opinion I had to think about my vote too and don't mean any offence by it xx

sleepyMe12 · 24/06/2016 10:30

highhopes thinking of you Flowers

I'm another not upset by the vote but I'm sick of hearing the bike being thrown by both sides.
I'm more concerned about bojo being PM Confused

Hazandduck · 24/06/2016 10:31

highhopes oh I am so, so sorry. You should go home and rest and not even think about work! Xx

Lucy1308 · 24/06/2016 10:34

Morning ladies! I am quite worried over here. Had some brown spotting last night and I have no idea what that means and whether I should be worried. It seems that there is no hard and fast rule for spotting or bleeding!! Going to the doctors this afternoon so hopefully he can reassure me about the whole thing.

Sorry I haven't caught up on the whole thread- been very busy at home and work and now my brain isn't really in gear to read all of Mumsnet :( hopefully I will get some reassurance and attempt to read through it all tonight and the weekend!!

Kellz92 · 24/06/2016 10:58

haz dont worry honey i didnt take offense at all. I feel its better for the area i live in, but i also thought we would be better independent as well in 2014 lol. we are all entitled to our own opinions :)

lucy i have had 2 weeks of brown spotting, it has just stopped, but please get checked.

High i am so sorry honey :( xxx

LondonGirl83 · 24/06/2016 10:59

Highhopes I'm sorry for the tough news. You never know, things may work out. I've been there before too. Take care of yourself and if you can take some time off of work.

My symptoms are all over the place this morning. In addition to tingling skin and sore boobs, I'm insatiably thirst and have a horrible headache behind my left eye.

After I speak to my boss today about Brexit, I think I'm just going to head home and rest up.

Scarydinosaurs · 24/06/2016 11:04

high I'm so so sorry. Please go home and take care of yourself. I'll be thinking of you and sending you positive thoughts.

wispaxmas · 24/06/2016 11:07

Oh highhopes, that must be so difficult to hear likely bad news, but still be in limbo, you have my sincerest sympathies.

HighHopes16 · 24/06/2016 11:09

Thanks everyone! I'm really trying to stay positive but after an hour of googling it really doesn't look good. :( Think I'm going to tell my mum tonight because I really need someone to talk to about it and she always seems to say the right things.

My boss is on annual leave today so I'm just going to have to get through the next 6 hours of work and then I have the whole weekend to rest.

Hazandduck · 24/06/2016 11:22

As stupid as this advice may sound as I google everything, try not to google. It will only make you more anxious. And definitely talk to your mum, Mama Bears always know what to say I think because they have been through all the same stress of it all when having you! X

Scarydinosaurs · 24/06/2016 11:27

Please go home, even without your boss there. I hope your mum can give you some reassurance Flowers and yes, stay away from Google!

Bubs33 · 24/06/2016 11:32

Hi all,
Recently found out that I'm due in February. I'm 7 wks 3 days and this will be my third child. I have two girls now so hoping for a boy this time x

Jojoclaire · 24/06/2016 12:18

I'm so sorry high what an awful feeling. Being at work won't help, I hope you can get home and talk to your mum. Thinking of you Flowers

SpinALittleFaster · 24/06/2016 12:25

I'm sorry high Flowers.

My scan was ok. I couldn't make anything out but it's still so very early so everything is tiny.

Penguin90 · 24/06/2016 12:27

My last period was at the end of last month

Dreamingoutloud7 · 24/06/2016 12:49

I'm so sorry high rest and let mum take care of you Flowers

wispaxmas · 24/06/2016 13:06

Penguin, if your period started 24 May your EDD would be 28 February looking at a simple calculator. Feel free to stick around whatever your EDD is, though!

LondonGirl83 · 24/06/2016 13:09

Spin how far along are you? I'm glad to hear you had a positive scan!

Welcome Bubs

H007 · 24/06/2016 13:09

high so sorry to hear that, stay away from Dr Google and go home and be kind to yourself.

I suffer from hormone type headaches. Sometimes so bad they make me feel sick.

Gutted about the results genuinely concerned regarding the future. I think it would have been an easier pill to swallow if it had been a clear win.

twocatsandatoddler · 24/06/2016 13:24

So sorry to hear that high. Try and rest if you can get away from work, you don't need added stress.

H007 I get hormonal headaches too, sometimes migraines, and I found they were better in my last pregnancy after the first trimester so hopefully yours will go away too when hormones settle down a bit. Although I did have a migraine near the end and panicked a bit as the symptoms are pretty much identical to pre-eclampsia!

SkyLucy · 24/06/2016 13:36

High I'm so sorry you received difficult news this morning. I hope the next week passes quickly and brings you a happier story.

Lucy - hopefully your GP will refer you for an early scan. Scary, but good to find out what's going on.

Welcome Bubs!
