A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Sorry if TMI, I passed a couple of clots now, still not in any real pain. God knows what this all means. Fx I get answers tomorrow

PhoebeGeebee · 22/06/2016 15:26

I hope tomorrow gives you the answers you need flying

SkyLucy · 22/06/2016 15:32

Thanks everyone! Fx for the next SIX weeks...good grief I swear time is running backwards.

Love that pic wispa! Welcome emz!

Kellz - that made me laugh out loud!! Although I'm pretty sure ET was smaller than that...!

Thinking of you Flying - I hope tomorrow's scan gives you answers and reassurance. Flowers

flying so sorry. I hope you get good news at your scan.

emz exciting! Would you be pleased to have twins again?

LondonGirl83 · 22/06/2016 15:42

skylucky great news!

Highhopes that's such a rude thing to ask someone!

Flying Fingers crossed for you!

Wispa great pic!

Lucy I know my local MW service always do bookings in between 8-10 weeks. So if you ring and you are 8 weeks they see you straight away and if you are 5 weeks, they'll book you in for 3 weeks away if that makes sense. They explained it was to do with the MC risk before 8 weeks.

sleepy my only symptoms are being bone tired, sore boobs and spots.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 22/06/2016 16:00

So happy at all the positive scan news! And now nervous about mine on Saturday Confused

Welcome to all newbies Smile

Kellz92 · 22/06/2016 16:22

Glad all the scans went well

Flying i have everything crossed for you tomorrow

Sky You would like to hope E.T. was smaller than that hahaha

xx

emzmeister · 22/06/2016 16:36

Flying I hope all goes as hoped tomorrow x

Scary I'd be over the moon with twins again but not sure if my partner would! One baby or two if they're healthy I'll be happy Smile.

Is everyone in this thread UK based?

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 16:54

Welcome emz. Very exciting!
I really hope things go well for you flying. Everything crossed for you.
Love the scan pic wispa. Can't wait for mine now!
H007 I'm veggie too and have had loads of veg and lentils the last few days so it's really annoying I'm getting this.
Phoebe it does sound exactly the same as that. I did have a bit of a tissue rummage too and nothing since 8am so have relaxed a bit. It probably is just a back door thing. Isn't pregnancy glamorous!

ButtonTum · 22/06/2016 17:31

Hey all, just catching up here.

I'm a bit bunged up as well and also got a little bleeding earlier. I think it's normal so not too worried tho did give me a bit of a scare at the time.

To add to the list of symptoms I have really sore wrist joints on both hands. Apparently carpal tunnel syndrome is a pregnancy thing? Who knew? All the best ailments in one place Smile

Also need some advice. Am at a conference (a glorious 3 dayer) and am normally the booze-hound/ shenanigans instigator at this annual event. Plus I am here with two of my biggest collaborators! Going to be so obvious when I don't get 'on it' at the awards ceremony. Thought about faking a course of antibiotics so imperative that I don't drink... Anyone got a better idea?

Good luck with the scan flying and welcome new people!

carrie105 · 22/06/2016 17:33

Hello everybody!

I have been catching up with the last two threads and it has taken me nearly a week!

I would love to join you all. I am currently 8 weeks exactly with an EDD of 1st February. This is my second, I have a 2 year old DS.

We lost two trying for this one, the last at 13 weeks due to a chromosomal abnormality so have many scans and tests coming up to make sure the problem hasn't repeated itself (very unlikely)..
I had a six week scan that showed a heartbeat. Will have Harmony test and ten week scan on 9th July, my NHS 12 week scan on 22nd and then a follow up scan to the a Harmony on 23rd!

My booking in at the midwife is 2 weeks today at exactly 10 weeks.

Congratulations to everyone else here!

LondonGirl83 · 22/06/2016 17:44

Welcome Carrie

I'm having the NIPT test as well but am going with Panorama at 9 weeks. Is there a reason you've chosen Harmony instead?

I want to be able to tell my family when I see them for a family reunion in late July and won't have my 12 week scan before I go, hence the test. Also, I'm excited to find out the sex!

I have to say, I think I might be having twins. They don't really run in my family but despite losing 4 pounds since falling pregnant my stomach is huge. I mean 4-5 months pregnant huge. This week, twice people have offered my seats on the train in London (and I'm not wearing a badge or anything). Given I've actually lost weight, I can't think why else my tummy is so enormous already!

Readytosettle · 22/06/2016 18:12

I'm also pretty famous for my boozing button, I'm off on a work trip in less than 2 weeks & there's no real work- just boozing. I've got a scan on Sunday & my plan is to fess up to my boss the day before we fly, then grab my usual partners in crime & ask them to try not drawing attention to the fact I'm not drinking. Unfortunately, once people are drunk they start being very direct & loud so if I tried to hide it the whole company would be made aware....hoping that a slightly more tactical approach will help keep it under wraps.

Having said that there was another pg announcement today (2nd this week) so everyone is on their guard looking for who's next so I prob won't be able to keep it a secret very long (if at all!)

carrie105 · 22/06/2016 18:32

LondonGirl83 - no reason for choosing Harmony over Panorama, I think they are very similar. I just chose a clinic and that is the only one they do. Also, I went to the same place last time.

Torn as to whether we will find out sex from Harmony, 12 weeks seems really early to know! We may ask for it to be put in an envelope and open at a later date (but obviously will want to look straight away)!

I don't really know about twin symptoms! But would be very exciting if you were!

Readytosettle, I managed to drink only tonic the other night when out with my sister saying in was gin and tonic, I think I got away with it but she isn't the most observant! It would be a lot less stressful on a big work trip to come clean!

Readytosettle · 22/06/2016 18:56

Yeah, when I say big drinker I mean 20+ on a work night out, and trays of shots between every normal drink. There's just no way I can hide from that!

emzmeister · 22/06/2016 18:59

Londongirl how exciting if that is the case! I'm trying to think back to my first trimester with the twins, think I was bigger than expected but the main thing I remember was the sickness, had horrendous sickness all day and night which apparently is a little sign! If you haven't had sickness it of course doesn't mean you're not having two but might be something to look out for Smile.

SkyLucy · 22/06/2016 19:00

I'm veggie too H007 & Friendly! Busy brewing myself a tiny tofu baby. I've been off my food for a couple of weeks now, but every time I walk past Itsu/Wasabi I want to run in and buy ALL their salmon sushi. I haven't touched fish for nine years! (I did used to bloody love it though...!)

OP posts:
emzmeister · 22/06/2016 19:04

PS I'm also struggling to think of excuses for not drinking as everyone knows I love wine! I said antibiotics the other day, but was struggling with the lying so when invited out this Friday I just declined Hmm. It's hard when it's not something you have to drive to... x

Dreamingoutloud7 · 22/06/2016 19:13

I'm veggie too H007 friendly & skylucy* although starting to really want fish...

Readytosettle · 22/06/2016 19:43

Another veggie here. No inclination to eat meat!

LondonGirl83 · 22/06/2016 19:49

emzmeister I'm still only 5+4 however today has been my first day of feeling really terrible. I felt mildly carsick since this afternoon and its getting worse. I also have a mild headache in addition to previous symptoms (really sore boobs, spots, bloat, etc).

I've just booked in a viability scan for next Saturday when I am 7 weeks. If it is twins, hopefully we'll be able to tell by then. To be honest I'm mildly terrified of the idea of twins. My sister has twins who were born very premature (around 23 weeks due to pre-eclampsia) and she had the absolute hardest time for the first two years of their life. They are great now but God she went through it! If it is twins I'll need lots of positive twin mummy stories to calm my nerves.

Carrie I won't be able to resist finding out the sex if I'm luck enough to get to that stage! It does feel like jumping ahead with few milestones to look forward to.

thecatsarecrazy · 22/06/2016 19:59

Hi everyone. I'm about 7 weeks now. Feeling rough the sickness kicked in last week. Having small meals when I can face it. Don't fancy anything

emzmeister · 22/06/2016 20:20

Londongirl you will have to keep us posted!! I can understand the nerves if you do have two little ones in there but if it's any consolation mine went full term (they say ft is 37 wks for twins and I had an elective c-section at 38+2). Babies were fine but I had to discharge myself from hosp after 5 days because of high blood pressure. Otherwise everything was perfect (until husband walked out when they were 9 months old)! I didn't have any family near me but it was fine, hard work but when they smiled it made it all worth it! Defo benefiting now too as they're best friends and keep each other entertained Smile.

You will be fine whatever the outcome my lovely xx

Evergreen17 · 22/06/2016 20:22

Sky that is amazing about the heartbeat Smile
Wow High that is rude!! Can I ask you if you have told your manager? Because I need to ask her for a day off for yet another appointment and I am worried she will say no. (I have not told them and I want to wait a while)

Wispa that is really good!!

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 20:22

So they do run in the family Londongirl. How exciting! I also have a dreadful headache which started today. I got one last time and it was pretty constant for 18 weeks so hoping it's not the same this time. Hope those of you suffering feel better soon.
I read that being veggie increases your chances of having a girl. Of my highly scientific study of 8 veggie friends including myself shows this to be correct 100% of the time. I think there are 12 girl babies and no boys! Obviously some cultures are veggie and this isn't the case but I still wonder if there's some truth in the theory. Can't wait until we all find out!
