A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

high I can't get over the bluntness of her question! It is SO rude!

themightymoosh · 22/06/2016 12:23

Lucy1308 I did feel like a bit of a berk ringing up but had I waited I'd be looking at an appointment much further along which doesn't bother me but then create extra pressure in ultrasound trying to get a scan in before 13+6.

It will entail a bit of time off work so I'll speak to my boss properly when I see her. I've adhered to the policy as much as possible, there's just a bit of contention in the office about people having time off for appointments (quite a few people with a lot going on).

Great news on the scan Sky

Hazandduck · 22/06/2016 12:29

That's lovely news sky. flying if you are still getting positives then FX it's just normal bleeding that so many pregnant women suffer. Pray all is ok for you. I have an early scan on Tuesday I am nervous they will tell me I'm not as far along as I think! I think I'm 8weeks tomorrow, but due to unreliable periods after coming off Cerazette I'm not sure! Maybe I'm further along! But I doubt I'd be that lucky. I just want this period of doubt, secrecy and anxiety to be over so I can just shout from the rooftops IM HAVING A BABY! X

HighHopes16 · 22/06/2016 12:31

I know I thought it was rude too, I think she got the message in the end but it was sooo awkward!

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 12:53

Fab news Sky. Highhopes I can't believe how rude some people can be!
I'm going to apologise in advance for this post but I'm having a slight stress. I've been quite constipated this pregnancy. It's bringing back memories of the traumatic first poo post birth Blush. Anyway this morning I had to erm strain quite a lot and when I wiped there was a small bit of blood. I wasn't hugely surprised by this. The problem is that there did appear to be some of the blood with mucus so I'm not sure which area the blood actually came from and if it could actually be spotting. This was at 8am and absolutely nothing since and I feel very sick today so my symptoms are increasing. Would I be silly to leave it and only see the dr if there's more bleeding or should I see someone? In the meantime I'm getting me some prune juice! Sorry again for the gross tmiBlush

Kellz92 · 22/06/2016 13:03

Friendly I sometimes get a bit of blood after i go to poo, its normal :) hope you dont suffer too much more!! i have been the opposite this time! x

Readytosettle · 22/06/2016 13:06

A this ur first DC friendly? I've had heameroids on & off since I gave birth to DS. Always causes a problem if I get constipated, and have def noticed they've been a bit worse the last couple of weeks. Anyway, it's painful & when they're bad I often get red blood. If you have a feel around ur bum u might feel a lumpy area (sorry, this is gross but then so is pg/childbirth!)

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 13:06

Thanks Kellz I suspect it's the same. I'm just a worrier! I know I had this later on in my last pregnancy. These precious little bundles really destroy your body!

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 13:09

Cross post Ready. It's my second and what you said does sound right. Let's just say that it felt like I was pooing broken glass. It's annoying because I eat so much fruit and veg.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 13:13

friendly Holland and Barret sell some foul aloe Vera juice that is also a very effective prune juice replacement!

You poor thing! Are you on pregnancy tablets? Could it be the iron in the pregnacare? I take folic acid on its own as pregnacare makes me so ill!

Kellz92 · 22/06/2016 13:16

Scary im also just taking folic acid at the mo, last time i took Pregnacare and was very constipated x

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 13:30

Thanks scary I'll try that. I still have vivid memories of crying through a glass of prune juice because it made me feel so sick so good to know there's an alternative.
I'm not taking pregnacare because I'm sure it was one of the things that made me feel so ill last time. Taking folic acid though.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 13:40

You only need to do a shot of the aloe Vera- and then a big gulp of orange juice and try to forget the vile taste!!

Kellz92 · 22/06/2016 13:43

i will second the aloe gel! it works, tastes vile but its done in a shot! x

wispaxmas · 22/06/2016 14:21

Quick check in to say all is fine!

sleepyMe12 · 22/06/2016 14:27

I take lepicol capsules to help with constipation, you can get them in boots but Amazon are much cheaper.

Readytosettle · 22/06/2016 14:31

Yay! Good to know wispa, did they confirm ur dates?

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 14:31

Marvellous, wispa!!

wispaxmas · 22/06/2016 14:35

I'm measuring 1 day behind, but she said that is something like 1mm difference and they won't confirm actual EDD until the 12-wk scan anyway.

The cyst is still there and still the same size, but she didn't seem worried by it at all.

wispaxmas · 22/06/2016 14:42

Just catching up, great news Sky!! My first was due just before my birthday and born 2 days after it, but you might actually get a birthday baby!!

emzmeister · 22/06/2016 14:54

Hello everyone, I'm new here and so pleased there's a thread for people due around the same time as me! This is my second pregnancy but my first was over 5 years ago (and I had twins), this time round I'm worrying about every little thing!

Lovely to meet you all anyway! I'm 4 weeks + 6.

Does anybody know if the early scans can tell if there is more than one baby? Confused

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 14:59

Ermz yes they can tell! Do you have twins in your family? Sometimes they see two sacs but at the 12 week scan only one is there- this isnt unusual, so it would only be at the 12 week scan that they would confirm twins. I think!

wispa I'm so pleased for you! One day is nothing really- a birthday baby is really something!!

H007 · 22/06/2016 15:03

friendly constipation was the sign I needed to know that I was pregnant. As a veggie the only time I've ever had constipation was when I was pregnant with DD. It's much early this time though, and I have previously had blood. I wouldn't worry.

Early scan emzmeister would be able to tell if more than one in there. Are you previous twins identical?

emzmeister · 22/06/2016 15:09

Thanks so much ladies, it's so nice to be in a group! Don't know why I've never done this before!

My twins are non identical, and yep they run in my family. If there's any truth to the 'they skip a generation' myth then I was next in line on both sides! Last time I kind of felt I had two but this time really not sure.

How is everyone feeling today? xx

PhoebeGeebee · 22/06/2016 15:20

Great new sky and wispa - you must be so relieved!

friendly - my original spotting came from straining too much (aggravating my cervix) and I've had 'back door' bleeding a few times since then. If there's nothing coming from 'front door' then I'd say not to worry. I've had several rummages with a tissue and there's definitely never anything there.

Which poster mentioned strawberry milk? Yep, my new obsession. I seem to be taking on the cravings of everyone else here!!!!
