A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

What is a Pinterest Board? Blush

Evergreen17 · 20/06/2016 08:15

Congrats Monkey! Smile
Scary everything is going according to plan with you then , brilliantSmile

5+4 today

Midwife early appointment at 6
Scan at 7

Counting the bloody minutes!!!

Symptoms same old same old

  • tired (maybe due to the cold I have)
  • boobs hurt at night
  • hungry

I am pretty proud of how well I have been avoiding alcohol, for somebody that loves wine and beer this is an important step

I am hoping to be one of those people that "sail through their pregnancy" and get no nausea Grin
But I will be happy if I have a healthy bean inside when they check in 10 days :-)

Dreamingoutloud7 · 20/06/2016 08:29

evergreen it's basically a website that acts as an online pinboard, you make different boards for different things, ie weddings, babies, interior design and 'pin' pictures to them, gets a bit addictive Smile

Dreamingoutloud7 · 20/06/2016 08:30

Woken up with a massive breakout on my cheek/chin area, my skin is normally clear so it's either hormones or all the rubbish I've been eating lately, I'm blaming hormones......

Masweetpea1 · 20/06/2016 08:36

6 weeks today, eek. Symptoms properly kicked in this weekend. Dizzy, bad stomach (can't keep any food in, worried about nutrients etc ?!), nausea and overwhelming tiredness.

Have a midwife appt in Thursday, do you think they'll try to listen to the heartbeat? Last time with my dd, they did at my first appt, but I was 8 weeks. It was abating, i could really do with hearing something this week.

Happy Monday everyone! Smile

Masweetpea1 · 20/06/2016 08:36

*abating?!...... Amazing!

Scarydinosaurs · 20/06/2016 08:39

I have a pin board for a new nursery already Blush.

Woke up with horrid seasick feeling. It's as if I'm on a boat. DD1 and DD2's use of me as a climbing frame this morning was not appreciated.

Lucy1308 · 20/06/2016 08:56

Also six weeks today!! I keep having random dizzy spells, alongside absolute exhaustion, total inability to do anything without being completely out of breath (!) and the odd sicky feeling. Oh and still have sore nipples- they are better since I got some properly fitting, softer bras though!!

Hoping this is as bad as my symptoms get- I'm going to ring the doctors this week and get a midwife appointment in advance so I can hopefully get one that doesn't mean I have to miss any of work!!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!!

Readytosettle · 20/06/2016 08:58

I had that last time I was pg dreaming, worst spots I've ever had. My neighbour said 'I knew you were pg because your skin's been horrible' :-(

gumbootsandjandals · 20/06/2016 09:15

I've sacked of work today. I feel sooooo guilty as only back from mat leave last week, but have had 2 terrible nights with the 3yo and feel so ill every time I move. Still struggling to eat and drink despite meds. I've spoken to a junior colleague but asked for a senior colleague to call me back. Not sure what I'm going to tell her. If I say I've been vomiting (I vomited last night) I have to stay off work for 48 hours.

gumbootsandjandals · 20/06/2016 09:17

lucy I am also feeling out of breath when I do anything. I have an active job in a hospital and just don't know how I'm going to get through the next few weeks

Lucy1308 · 20/06/2016 09:28

I'm a housekeeper in a house with 4 floors so I'm about dying. I'm glad I don't feel poorly other than that so it means I can just profess to be unfit, I don't know how you're managing with feeling ill too!! I'd definitely be having a sick day if I could get away with it!!

Lucy1308 · 20/06/2016 09:32

Also, has anyone else noticed they have really greasy hair?! Mine is like a chip pan- can usually go 2-3 days between washes (with dry shampoo). Now struggling to go 1!!

HighHopes16 · 20/06/2016 09:45

I'm about 6 weeks now (I think?) Got my next scan on Friday to check everything's all ok after the bleeding I had. Should I hear a heartbeat around 6.5 - 7 weeks? so nervous!

My symptoms so far are-
Stomach cramps/bloating,
Allllll the spots, even on my chest/back which I've never had before,
Keep having waves of nausea/dizziness but haven't actually been sick.
Exhausted from the minute I wake up.

No cravings or food aversions just yet!

Scarydinosaurs · 20/06/2016 09:47

ready I have spots too 😫

And I have greasy hair lucy!

I'm off work too as have been up all night poorly. I was sure I was aneamic before I fell pregnant, now I'm sure I am. Hoping to get my blood test results today to confirm it.

Scarydinosaurs · 20/06/2016 09:47

high should be able to see a heartbeat!

Lucy1308 · 20/06/2016 09:57

I think the greasy hair is by far the worst symptom... Although I do slightly think my tummy is a bit dodgy, just at the other end!! Blush

Scarydinosaurs · 20/06/2016 10:15

Oh no! lucy that's rough, but again I feel you on that too.

Spots, greasy hair and bad tummies...pregnancy is grand, isn't it?

GinIsIn · 20/06/2016 10:19

Just called to chase my midwife appointment as I haven't heard from them and it seems my GP forgot to refer me!! Angry. Now it looks like it will be another two weeks before I can get seen, which is less than ideal as I'm already 6+5. Think I will just book a private scan in the meantime.

Scarydinosaurs · 20/06/2016 10:25

Fenella my first midwife appt isn't until I'm 8 weeks, try not to worry too much.

Lucy1308 · 20/06/2016 10:42

It just feels like I usually do when I'm on- suddenly very urgent!! Sorry for TMI.

Just rung my doctors to book a midwife appointment and it would seem that I was right to do so!! They are only there on Thursdays so are booked up until I'm 8 weeks anyway!! Will have to take an hour off work but I'm sure that will be fine!! Don't want to tell work yet, but if they are difficult I suppose I will have to!! Do I need to take anything with me to the first appointment? The receptionist didn't know!!

Fenella my doctors told me that I wouldn't need one til 8-10 weeks anyway so I wouldn't worry. Although I would probably be pissed off about them forgetting- hate it when you leave someone to do something and they just don't bother!!

MarjorySunshineDust · 20/06/2016 10:48

My booking in isn't until I'm 10 weeks as they are fully booked, I phoned at 5 weeks too! So no idea when my scan will be. Feel unusually calm about it though.

I've got a bit of a spotty CB as well, but my cleansing routine has been a bit slack recently so I think that's the reason Blush my skin was amazing last pregnancy.

Lucy1308 · 20/06/2016 11:01

My skin is probably better now than it was pre-pregnancy. It feels slightly oilier now but it doesn't seem to be making me break out like it normally would. I just have spots round my mouth and chin- which according to my friend who is a dermatologist are the areas most frequently associated with hormonal changes so will flare up during pregnancy or during ovulation when hormones are actively increasing!!

Every day's a school day and all that...

Kellz92 · 20/06/2016 11:06

Hey everyone, how are you all? Ive been super busy, being off end of last week with me and DD being poorly then it was my birthday at the weekend, so much to catch up on!! x

Hazandduck · 20/06/2016 11:14

Morning everyone, I think I am 7w+4d today and have booked a scan for next Tuesday the 28th of June just to check all is ok, as I am such a stupid worry-wart. How is everyone feeling? I had an awful day yesterday sicky-wise as I was at a wedding all day Saturday and didn't go to bed until 3am; tiredness makes me feel so nauseous, it's weird! I am starting to get so excited though and accidentally let it slip to a couple of friends at the wedding, gah! This is my first ever pregnancy, anyone else on the same crazy ride for the first time? Hope everyone is ok! x
