Due in February 2017...thread #2!

A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Thank you everyone and Gin, you're right the scans must be hard to do at this early stage and we should take the flicker as a good sign. I suppose I could have ovulated a few days later and it could have take longer to implant. I'm just convincing myself that all my 'symptoms' have gone all of a sudden.

Jodie, I'm so sorry about your news. I lost a baby at around 6/7 weeks after an ectopic and it's really hard. No words just look after yourself and let others around help and support you. Xx

ButtonTum · 19/06/2016 18:34

Dreaming, I hear you on the boobs. Am entirely braless today as every day after work last week it was whipped off the moment I walked through the door! Also massively bloated. All I have eaten is bread bread bread toast bread this weekend so sure that will have something to do with it. Not much appetite for anything else Confused

sienna, I'd probably stay away from the rides. I think they normally have signs that say pregnant women can't go on then anyway. I don't think I'd take the chance. Though you may be feeling too sick to go on any by then anyway !! Wink

Evergreen17 · 19/06/2016 20:08

Jodie so very sorry Sad I havent experienced it so I dont have helpful words for you Flowers

Paper and flying hoping that you guys can find a way to distract yourselves. Paper I have my next scan an 7 weeks in 11 days. Counting the days. They saw a sac at 5 weeks but too early to see anything else. I think that it is a good sign about the flickering, there must be something good going on there Smile

I have been thinking that it is madness that women have to wait blindly. As in some of us are having early scans but otherwise you dont get one until 12 weeks??? So basically you wait for 3 months and you might just have an empty sac? How on earth do people manage this?????!!! What about before the scans existed??!

On another note my boobs hurt and I can't drive over bumps without holding them. Maybe they are growing a bit

Thanks for the list wispa Smile

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 19/06/2016 20:09

I found out from my SIL today that in Chester, they usually don't give you a scan until 20 weeks, unless you tell your doctor you aren't sure on dates... isn't that mental! Shock

GinandJazzHands · 19/06/2016 20:09

dreaming my bloat is definitely at it's worst after food. Had bangers mash and veg earlier and feel like a balloon right now!

HighSparrow · 19/06/2016 20:12

Just catching up..

dreaming and buttons I'm also massively bloated! I've been craving bread today.

Anyone else creating Pinterest boards already? Blush I'm only 5+2!

HighSparrow · 19/06/2016 20:14

Thanks wispa for the updated list! There's loads of us due on 17th Feb!

gumbootsandjandals · 19/06/2016 20:21

wispa after all your hard work I need to confess I totally got my dates wrong. My EDD is actually Feb 3rd. Hubby and I checked both of our diaries and agree on this. Can't believe the baby brain started so early...

Dreamingoutloud7 · 19/06/2016 20:29

Thanks wispa for adding me to the list

Glad I'm not alone in the bloating gin and sparrow I have like a little bump after eating, if I told people I was pregnant they would definitely believe me!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 19/06/2016 20:31

sparrow I haven't started looking at baby stuff yet, however I will admit I nearly ordered maternity tights yesterday, I have to wear them for work and they are starting to feel really tight, however the price jumps just for maternity so I might try my normal ones in a bigger size first Hmm

Evergreen17 · 19/06/2016 20:37

Flying are you serious? 20 bloody weeks????????????!!!!!!!

FriendlyGhost · 19/06/2016 20:53

Great job on the list Wispa. Lots of us now!
I'm 5+5 today and the symptoms are getting stronger. I just want to sleep all day and I felt sick all afternoon. I'm taking it as a good sign that my hormones are increasing. Very bloated here too.

SkyLucy · 19/06/2016 20:58

So sorry to read your news Jodie. Very best wishes to you.

PhoebeGeebee · 19/06/2016 20:58

Thanks for the list wispa - and also for being the reason I've just bought a packet of potato waffles AND a wispa. Hoping some strange love for vegetables surfaces soon...

I created my first (secret) Pinterest board the day I found out we were duffed and I've just been looking for maternity jeans as had to unbutton my normal ones today. Might try eBay and get them a bit cheaper!

8+4 today, despite wanting to be sedated until the 12 week scan, the days are absolutely flying by.

SkyLucy · 19/06/2016 20:59

High 17 Feb is actually my birthday so I've always been acutely aware that it's really, really common! I share it with family members, the woman who sits next to me at work, and at my 100-strong college, five of us had the same birthday. In fact, the two middle weeks of Feb are really popular for birthdays. I always wondered what caused the flurry of fertile activity nine months prior....I guess I should have the answer now?!

OP posts:
HighSparrow · 19/06/2016 21:03

Haha sky just realised mid feb due dates are from May bank holiday conceptions!!

Sunshineface123 · 19/06/2016 21:26

That's funny about may bank holiday, ringing a bell actually! I've made a secret Pinterest board, I love it!

wispaxmas · 19/06/2016 21:32

flying, I think it's pretty common in the states to not have a scan until 18-20 weeks! Not sure why, but I know my sister didn't. But then she had the harmony test as standard with her health insurance, so didn't need a nuchal translucency measurement.

sky, it's my brother's birthday, too! 24 May is a holiday back in Canada, too, and I really hate that you lot have made that connection for me. Ugh, thanks for that, sparrow, I love thinking about when my parents would've had sex.

Phoebe, HAH! You're welcome. I managed to eat some broccoli with dinner tonight. And sweet potato. And duck. It was a totally normal dinner, actually, I was really impressed with myself. Had potato waffles for lunch again, though Grin

ARGH, gum, I am SO not going to remember to update that next time. I tend to just barely skim for newbies. I'll try, though.

user1466330715 · 19/06/2016 22:40

Jodie,

Im so sorry to read your news.
I found that reflexology helped me a little after I had mine in Nov. had never had it done before but interestingly she picked up on my hormones being all over the place and did a relaxation technique that helped me think more about 'letting go'.
the lady I went to specialises in all things fertility and is so lovely, have a look at her Facebook page and the article I found the link for. I hope this brings you so comfort. x

Today on the podcast we're talking miscarriages, and how to cope with them. I'm joined by Susie from Becoming a mama who shares lots of great advice and insights. There's also a free giveaway with some tools and exercises for helping you to move on. I hope it's useful if this is your journey x www.fearfreechildbirth.com/…/coping-with-a-miscarri…/

Birdlet · 19/06/2016 22:58

Just catching up after a busy couple of days at work - wispa I've instructed DH to get to Tesco to buy some waffles in the morning because they're all I can think of since seeing your lunch the other day!

I'm still feeling knackered and nauseous, although I've only actually been sick once I'm still living on toast and ice lollies because they're about all I can stomach the thought of Confused

I've been looking at a lot of baby stuff! Obviously don't want to buy anything for a good few months but want to get an idea of the costs so we can start saving. Told my best friend not long after we found out (actually she guessed and I couldn't deny it!!) so she's already saving bits with she was going to start getting rid of - her DS is 1 so she's got loads. Also got a HUGE bag of maternity clothes from her. A little embarrassed to admit that I'm so bloated, I've already had to start wearing my work trousers undone with a bump band because they were too uncomfortable BlushBlush I guess all the bread isn't agreeing with me!!

monkeyandlion2012 · 19/06/2016 23:53

MarjorySunshineDust · 20/06/2016 07:53

Morning everyone, just catching up!
So sorry to read your news jodie Flowers

7+1 here today. Getting a bit fed up with the nausea! I can just about cope during the morning but it gets worse late afternoon and I always throw up my dinner in the evening. Have cut out the sertraline all together now so also getting the brain zappy withdrawal yay.
DH has been great over the weekend, taking dd out so I can rest but back to reality today!
