Due in February 2017...thread #2!

A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Hi all, due on 17th Feb with baby #1. TTC for 2 years, had an appointment booked with a fertility consultant. 4 days before appointment was over the moon to find out we're expecting 😁

Readytosettle · 19/06/2016 11:07

Congrats Kimmy and welcome to the club!

Paper, I'd try not to worry too much about dating at this stage. If you think about it logically, they're trying to measure something the size of a pea using sonography. Just a couple of mm can make the difference of a week or so. I had an early scan at 9 weeks last time and was dated a week back, was a bit worrying at the time but by the time I got to my 12wk scan it was only a day out with my dates.

Can I make a suggestion to those worried about CB dates.....step away from the pee sticks!! Those things are designed to tell you if you're pregnant or not, not whether your pregnancy is progressing at the right rate. Unless you're very early & suspect a chemical then there really is no reason to test again. Plus it costs a fortune!

I got my DH a dad to be card that said 'your swimmers are winners!' And I made up a little poem which he loved. Smile

Hi all,

So lovely to read through all the threads and support going on here.

I am mummy to a 3 yr old boy and 7.3 with our second DD 03/02/2017. Am anxious as miscarried back in Nov. had slight bleeding around 12 weeks and when scanned was told something happened around 8 weeks sad You can imagine that I'm on tenterhooks now and wishing away the weeks. Getting private scan done in St Albans at 9 weeks (June 30th) so keeping everything crossed. Finding this site very reassuring so thank you all. My symptoms are minimum so good to know I'm not the only one.
Wishing you all luck and looking forward to being part of this. xx

@ready thank you! 😊

@jojo I bought a fathers day card. Felt a little silly writing it but I think he'll love it!

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 19/06/2016 11:46

Ready yes you're right. I do want to see the 3+ but I can't afford to keep buying the bloody things Grin plus I guess the result either way isn't going to change anything. It's surprising how addictive it is peeing on sticks!!

jodiebee664 · 19/06/2016 13:29

Hi All,

Sorry to post bad news on here but it has turned out to be mc for me. The scan at 6+4 showed nothing and HGC has drop since they tested me Friday to today. I'm very sad about it but will be okay.

Good luck to you all with your pregnancies and thanks for all your kind words when I had my bleeding scare last week

x

Playing catch up after a busy weekend visiting family, so sorry jodie Flowers

GinandJazzHands · 19/06/2016 17:27

Welcome to the newbies! paper easier said than done but I would take the flicker etc as a good sign with your scan; any attempt at dating when the pregnancy is so early is a nightmare and they more often get it wrong. Keeping everything crossed for you my lovely. ChocolateBrew

GinandJazzHands · 19/06/2016 17:30

Thanks to all on the thrifty second hand advice! Just getting carried away with the thought of it all. Definitely not buying anything before 12 weeks. evergreen I am 5 weeks Tues and am constantly peeing! It's my only noticeable symptom; not sick, boobs not particularly sore. Had an occasional bit of bloating and grumpiness but that's it. Guess it's too early yet for me.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 19/06/2016 17:48

gin envious of the lack of boob pain, mine have grown probably about half a cup size already Confused and are so painful, I've had to take my bra off already today just couldn't handle it for a minute longer!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 19/06/2016 17:49

Is anyone else noticing a serious bloat after eating? Could just be a sign I need to eat less Biscuit

Sienna9522 · 19/06/2016 18:09

I'm going on a hen weekend to Blackpool in July and one of the days were going to the pleasure beach. Can't find any info on the safety of rides for pregnant women. Does anyone know? Won't be drinking on the night out so was looking forward to going on some rides
