A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Hah, apparently I'm having another girl. Can't wait to find out for real, though. I know some people like to wait, but I just want to know ASAP! At least this time I have the excuse of wanting to be able to tell DD whether she will be getting a baby brother or sister.

wispaxmas · 18/06/2016 22:43

phoebe, this was my lunch today. I was so disgusted with myself, but it felt so good.

Haha! God it's funny isn't it..I am eating such random snacks at random times and just nothing tastes tasty! I am absolutely shattered too is everyone else?

Reading this chat, I just can't believe how common bleeding is...I swear my entire life no one has every said anything to indicate that is the case!

GinIsIn · 18/06/2016 23:01

I had oven chips and dry crackers for lunch. All of the beige.

I've been doing alright for morning sickness but felt so nauseous this morning that I almost ran in front of a car, such was my desperate need to get away from the stinky rubbish truck that pulled up next to me!

FriendlyGhost · 18/06/2016 23:22

I hope you're ok gum. Glad you're being seen on Tuesday.
According to the Chinese chart my dd is a boy. It says I'll be having a girl this time so who knows. I can't wait to find out. DH reckons it will be another girl. I don't care but I just want to know NOW!
The sickness has ramped up this evening. i was really looking forward to eating some posh chocolate I'd been given but I couldn't face it. Seem to remember I went off chocolate for a while last time too. That was particularly traumatic because it was over Easter. I know my sickness last time was awful when I was tired so always got bad in the evenings. This time I have a toddler who doesn't sleep so I'm probably screwed.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 18/06/2016 23:31

Seems it's a girl for me sleepy which is strange as I'm actually convinced it will be a girl, always wanted a boy first but since we found out we're pregnant I literally cannot picture it being a boy, very strange Confused

I second the love of beige fenella I'm living off hula hoops and bread tbh.

Jojoclaire · 19/06/2016 05:33

So weird I'm having all of the same food issues as you guys - yesterday had 2 pork pies, cheese on toast, cake and a mouthful of chow mien noodles. I reckon those preggo vitamins are doing their job, I can't stomach any veg!

Nice one on the calendar. I like things like that! I was reading about its history and came across a thing saying its measured on Chinese age and lunar calendars, there's another one linked below that makes me older, but says it's a boy! (DH is convinced it's a girl and keeps calling it she so kind of glad there's something scientific (!) to remind him it's early days...

www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/CAge2.htm

Back to sleep now? I think probably not...

HighSparrow · 19/06/2016 06:16

sleepy mine is a girl, but sure I've done another Chinese calander which showed a boy!

Love the bit where it points out that 90% is better than 50/50! Grin

Am I the only one that's not off food or got much nausea yet? I'm only 5+2..
Tmi..but I've also noticed my cm drying up a bit. Hope it's nothing to worry about.

Itslittlek · 19/06/2016 06:44

Sparrow the CM thing is same for me, have you heard of balance activ? Try that...I asked my friend with I a Obs and Gyn doc and she said it's totally safe x

HighSparrow · 19/06/2016 06:58

Thanks little. I've just looked it up and I've not got symptoms, just much less cm than I've seen over last 2 weeks. From googling it seems cm comes & goes in quantity throughout pregnancy, but I'll check with Dr on Friday :)

Itslittlek · 19/06/2016 07:07

She was saying it just as more of a kinda 'softener' for the area! X

Sunshineface123 · 19/06/2016 07:07

highsparrow no food aversion here, am scoffing everything in sight. 6 weeks on Tuesday maybe after that might not fancy so much, no idea!

Scarydinosaurs · 19/06/2016 07:50

Ohh using that calendar I would have another girl Confused. I'm weirdly convinced this will be our first DS. After two DDs I would now love to have a boy- but really, it doesn't matter. I know DH would be happy with either, but loves the idea of a boy.

Evergreen17 · 19/06/2016 08:04

Gum best of luck for Tuesday Smile It is great when you get a nice GP.

I have no chances in taste. I do feel very hungry and crave sugar and then feel dizzy afterwards. Particularly in the eve.

My boobs hurt so much at night and I believe they might be getting bigger now Hmm

Sleepy that calendar is adorable!!! Apparently a boy, which OH confessed he wanted. And I think I suspect he might be getting a boy Hmm
I dont really care, although maybe a girl, so I dont feel outvoted Smile

Jojo that chart also says boy!! Hehe

And (Careful here I actually work in science so Take the next part with several pinches of salt) I read that Y sperm (boy) is faster and dies quicker and if you have sex very close to ov you are more likely to have a boy (no evidence was provided to back up this argument so please dont take it too seriously) but we had sex in the morning that day and I feel maybe it is a boy
Confused

Now to things that I do know rather than speculations Grin I will just be happy if they see an embryo on the next scan. SmileSmile

twocatsandatoddler · 19/06/2016 08:07

I'm on holiday with my 18 mo DS, and this morning was my turn to get up with him. He woke up at 5:50, and so far has flung porridge all around the holiday cottage, emptied all the contents of my handbag all over the floor, attempted to drink the perfume out of the reed diffuser, and is now repeatedly calling me 'Mummy poo'. I'm exhausted and a bit nauseous and just want to be back in bed!

I'm wondering why I thought it was a good idea to have another one! Confused

LuckyinOctober · 19/06/2016 08:28

Thanks ready and settle, reassured I'm not taking risks with the dye. I also have too many greys to suddenly stop dying without it being obvious.

I got a boy on the chart which is funny because my instinct was that this one's a girl. I want one of each so don't really mind, looking forward to finding out at the scan though!

Yeah I'm finding my usually adventurous palate has changed into being one of a fussy eater, the more bland and simple the better. Fruit, crisps and ginger biscuits are what I'm actually enjoying but I'm making myself eat a variety.

I did another cheapie test this morning just to reassure myself in advance of my booking in appointment on wed, and the test line came up before the control - still pregnant today then!

7+3

Jojoclaire · 19/06/2016 09:08

On another note, is anyone else giving their DH/DP a "from the bump" Father's Day card today?

Carly6971 · 19/06/2016 09:12

Morning everyone 😊

jojo I always get hubby a card and little gift from the dog on Father's Day. (The joys of infertility lol make you use your pets as surrogate children! Lol!) so today I slipped in an extra little card from bump and a little bib and hat from next with daddy and me on. I wanted the baby grow but it had a 3 week delivery time! Oh and also Guess how much I love you? Book. I figured it only cost a few quid and was more of a token gesture, but it made his eyes fill up bless him :) x

Blueskies80 · 19/06/2016 09:14

Well the calendar said boy for me! I did it with my first though and it said boy and I had a girl! I'm not fussed either way, slight preference maybe for a girl as have a name!!

For past few nights been going to sleep when the kids do now at 7.30 and waking at 10 for food then back to bed, as a result I feel so much better today, less dizzy and tired.

Two cats, gosh poor you!! 18 months is a tricky age IMO. Into everything but have no regard for anything you say to them!! I've had the same thought, when my two start fighting each other usually.

Evergreen, I've heard the same thing too! That's why I thought my first would be a boy but was a girl so doesn't always hold!

Hope everyone enjoys Father's Day especially the dads or dads to be !

Blueskies80 · 19/06/2016 09:16

Ah guess how much I love you is such a lovely book.. What a lovely idea Carly xx

paperandpaint · 19/06/2016 09:31

Hi everybody, hope you and bumps are doing well! I've not posted for a few weeks as it's been crazy busy at work (I'm a teacher so exams, reports, residentials -argh!)

So I need some advice. With my dates (I'm very regular and did an OKP and got a smiley face) I thought that I was 7+2 yesterday. We went for an early scan as I'd been having pain and I've had an ectopic before. The sonographer, who was amazing, said the baby was only measuring 6 weeks and she couldn't hear the heartbeat. She did see a slight flicker on screen and then did a wavelength test (that's not the official name but I'm not sure what else to call it) and saw a series of blips which indicated a heartbeat but she still recorded it as fetal heartbeat uncertain. I'm feeling devastated as I know my dates are right and this hasn't happened to me before. She did say - sorry TMI - that my cervix was totally closed and there was no signs of bleeding in the sac and that it looked ok for 6 weeks. However I can't help feeling that maybe the baby although still hanging in just isn't thriving and is dying.

I have to go again in 10 weeks and it's torture. I'm now convincing myself I'm no longer feeling queasy and tired.

Sorry about the essay but I was wondering if anybody else had experience of this?

Xx

paperandpaint · 19/06/2016 09:38

Oops - I mean 10 days not 10 weeks!

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 19/06/2016 09:47

Oh Paper that's rubbish Sad I really hope the next scan at 10 weeks looks absolutely fine.

Managed to get myself worrying even though I know I'm being irrational. When I had my MMC, I used the CBD and kept getting 1-2 when I should have had 2-3. My worrying was justified since my bloods (and scans a couple of weeks later) showed a MMC. Well, this time, I got the 2-3 when expected, but I was hoping for the 3+ today and still got 2-3. I took out the strips and the line is darker than the last 2-3. I know this is really common and I shouldn't worry. It's just that my MMC was so recent and I really don't want to go through that again. Someone snap me out of it! Angry

paperandpaint · 19/06/2016 10:13

Oh Flying, I can imagine how you must be feeling. Every little thing seems like a 'sign' and that's what I'm going through too but I suppose we both need to stop overthinking although it's incredibly hard thought isn't it? Are the clear blue sticks that reliable? X

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 19/06/2016 10:19

paper not as reliable as CB make out they are! Loads of women worry over nothing with them. I guess because they were actually right last time, I'm overthinking it.

Yes we both need to relax and think positive! Easier said than done though xx
