A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

I'm quite keen to get on with doing DS's room but can't get a builder for love nor money round here :-( Found one the other day who said he might be able to squeeze us in in December so if the quote is ok might have to go with that...but that'd mean DS will be in the nursery til after baby is here.

ION I've discovered alcohol free Kopperberg....like drinking liquid pear drops...so yum!

FriendlyGhost · 18/06/2016 14:53

Wispa I'll probably swap around which one's in the sling and which is in the buggy depending on sleeping times. I found the only way to get dd to sleep not on me when she was tiny was to push her in the pram so the new baby will get the same treatment. Dd can walk and then when she's tired she loves going on my back in the sling. I currently have an ergo baby which I love but I'm being swayed by the pretty Tula patterns. I already have a stretchy wrap for the baby but might look at other ones too. Love baby wearing!
I would definitely describe morning sickness as like a permanent hangover. I also feel really stressed and moody. I'm currently sitting around the corner from home because I may have totally overreacted about DH ignoring me while he was playing his computer games and stormed out. I feel better after a good cry!

Hey all,

Have been reading all the posts and wanted to see if I can join. I am 8 weeks today, haven't exactly had a smooth start but from reading all the messages seems a lot of us haven't.

I have had a few scans due to bleeding but have now found out I have a little bleed within the uterus..the most common cause of bleeding apparently. It's very small and not concerning the midwives and over all the scans so far the little embryo has had a stronger heart beat and has been growing in line with my weeks so taking some comfort in that.

I think I read someone on another post put it perfectly...when you think about being pregnant you think it's this time of magic, wonder and amazement...all I've been feeling in mild panic, anxiety and worry. Coupled of course with the nausea and insomnia!

Hoping for some very boring months for all of us.

Due date is 1st Feb xxx

Welcome littlek! Smile

Anyone else at 5ish weeks has encounter the glamour that is urgent toilet visits? Hmm
No? Only me then? Hmm

Evergreen17 · 18/06/2016 17:00

Encountered

Readytosettle · 18/06/2016 17:01

Argh, DS kicked me really hard in the lower abdomen earlier this avo. It really hurt at the time & then I got shooting pains. It's still hurting now but has dulled a bit. I know that it's not likely to have done any lasting damage, and that even if it has there's not a whole lot I can do about it now but still pretty disconcerting.

Blueskies80 · 18/06/2016 17:01

I did at 5 weeks evergreen! Blush

Evergreen17 · 18/06/2016 17:11

Masweetpea1 · 18/06/2016 17:16

I am also SO HUNGRY ConfusedConfused

LuckyinOctober · 18/06/2016 17:40

Sorry to read about aubergine and hope she's being well looked after. Glad you're reassured Lizard. Just on the 3+ CB thing, I used a digi for the first time at 6 weeks and got the 3+ but everyone's different.

I'm 7+2 today and had my hairdresser appointment. Having read up on whether getting hair dyed in pregnancy is safe I decided it probably was so got my roots done - curious though as there's mixed info out there, are other people still dying hair as usual?

Readytosettle · 18/06/2016 17:50

Yeah, I got my highlights done a couple of weeks ago. Not concerned about that one at all, just can't get my head round how it could be dangerous.

FriendlyGhost · 18/06/2016 18:16

Evergreen I just had to fast walk back from the park because I was so desperate. I also felt a bit damp so convinced myself I was bleeding. It was fine of course!
Lucky I'm going to continue dying my hair as I have too many greys! The way I look at it is that hairdressers are exposed all day everyday and all is fine. It's a low level of chemicals and for a short exposure time so I imagine any risks would be tiny.

Evergreen17 · 18/06/2016 19:57

Haha friendly so glamorous this first trimester Grin

SkyLucy · 18/06/2016 20:29

Wise words ever! Smile

Sunshine - only seen my GP, still waiting for a midwife appt. God knows when the scan will be!

Can't believe the baby paraphernalia chat has already started! Haven't thought about it all, but I did wake up with a start the other day thinking 'crap, there's no room in my house for a pram'! I don't even have a hallway, how can I be ready to have a kid?!

Just a quick update from me. I'm still spotting so rang 111. A Dr rang me back within an hour and booked me an appt with an OOH GP the next town over. I left in plenty of time but didn't count on being unable to get into town due to a carnival. Mega stress! Luckily the surgery rang me when I didn't turn up and they told me to get there when I could.

The GP was nice. Has booked me a appt for a scan at the EPU on Tues. He told me to take things easy in the meantime.

Not sure about going into work next week - the cyclizine is allowing me to eat a bit better but I still feel really nauseous, esp when I move. I have an active job.

gumbootsandjandals · 18/06/2016 20:36

Regarding slings, I have a Lillebaby which can be used from birth to 4 years. I didn't use it when dc2 was a newborn as it was a 3am bf secret purchase hidden in the back of the wardrobe, but have used it a lot since 5 months. Really comfy.

Itslittlek · 18/06/2016 21:25

Is anyone else just finding that food is not tasty at all?!

GinIsIn · 18/06/2016 21:34

Itslittlek - YES!! I am hungry all the time but just don't fancy any food at all. It's driving me mad!

Itslittlek · 18/06/2016 21:35

I keep thinking...this meal will be the one that reignites my love of food..and every time I eat it's totally uninspiring! I'm living on fruit, that's the only thing I'm enjoying!

wispaxmas · 18/06/2016 22:28

Glad the GP was nice and you've got your EPU appt, gum, and I hope everything is a-ok!

Food... I don't know, I'm not thrilled by anything right now, except that I CANNOT stop eating today. I'm finding plain digestives oddly appealing, though.

A little bit of fun I've got girl lol

PhoebeGeebee · 18/06/2016 22:39

All I want to eat is chips and bread. Anything stodgy, anything beige. Just been out for dinner with friends, ordered pizza, ate the crusts and left the middle. Craziness.
