Congrats and welcome paper - a good friend of mine started her family of three at 40! So not unusual at all! Smile x

Kellz92 · 02/06/2016 09:26

Paper congratulations thats Fab!!!

Happy im 23 but 42 in my head hahah

neither of you are old :) x

paperandpaint · 02/06/2016 09:33

Thank you all! Congratulations to all of you too!

I had also forgotten about all the early pregnancy anxiety and it's reassuring from reading all your posts that we're all feeling the same. My boobs are massive and pretty tender and I'm shattered all the time but no sickness yet. I had an ectopic years ago so will go for an early scan but I'm resisting the temptation to do any more tests, the line on the first one was really dark so I'm stopping at that - this is unlike me as I'm normally a test 15 times just to make sure kind of person!

Glad to hear there are some other older mums out there - I was the youngest mum in the playground with my youngest daughter and now I'll be the oldest!

Jeanniejampots80 · 02/06/2016 09:52

Hi everyone. Was going to hold off joining in until 12-14 weeks just to be sure but feeling so nauseous today so as no one bar OH knows I felt I might feel better moaning here :)

Actually due 30th of Jan according to dates but will see and expect Feb. 2nd pregnancy have DD age 2 got pregnant a bit quicker than I expected and means I will now miss out on fully paid mat leave :( for various reasons but it's ok plan to budget from now on.

HighHopes16 · 02/06/2016 09:58

Hi Ladies,

Can I join? We have literally just found out I'm pregnant (this morning!)

Judging by my last period & Clear Blue Conception indicator I'm about 5 weeks so will be due 2nd Feb 17. No clear symptoms as of yet! Smile

twocatsandatoddler · 02/06/2016 10:09

Welcome paint, jeannie and high hopes!

I've definitely got fewer symptoms this time round, I'm 5+4 and feeling mostly fine, although I get a bit queasy in the evenings when I'm tired, which is when it was worst last time too. They say every pregnancy is different though so I'm trying not to compare and just enjoy having less nausea! The worst thing this time round is not being able to catch up on sleep at weekends like I could first time as DS is waking at 6am most mornings!

SBSparkles · 02/06/2016 10:15

Hi guys - wondering if anyone can help me? I'm totally freaking out. My boobs have been killing me every day to the point where it hurts to not to be in a bra but suddenly this morning I've realised they don't hurt anymore? I'm had a total meltdown and am convinced I'm losing it. Is this normal? I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. No cramping it bleeding at all. (Well the odd light cramp from time to time but none today) thanks xx

Kellz92 · 02/06/2016 10:23

Congrats Jeannie & HighHopes

SB i think youre fine, but i understand why you are panicking! just try chill and enjoy your pregnancy (easier said than done) ps i had no sore boobs at all with DD and this time i only have sore nipples and thats only very slight!

xx

CinderellaFant · 02/06/2016 10:27

SB don't panic. I am the same, sometimes mine don't hurt at all but I think I'm maybe just getting used to the pain so don't feel it anymore! Hmm

twocatsandatoddler · 02/06/2016 10:33

SB apparently you get sore boobs early on and then it wanes as your body gets used to the increased hormones so that sounds normal to me. I remember last time mine were sore for a few weeks and then weren't particularly sore for the rest of pregnancy, although they were bigger. Mine are definitely less sore than a week ago.

Kellz92 · 02/06/2016 10:48

Right im really worrying about this...probably no reason at all!!
On Sunday i had 2 faint FRERs, Monday was a lot stronger, however my IC was very faint (Understandable)
Tuesday i did a boots digital and got a Pregnant (i would be 14dpo)
Yesterday i got a Pregnant 1-2 weeks on a CB
Today i thought id leave my last digi and cb and did my last IC and its still quite faint but you can see without squinting now! or holding it up in day light lol
Am i worrying for no reason. im only supposed to be 16dpo, Im trying not to worry as i had a chemical last year (even though i know that im not as i never got a + digi and the lines got fainter instead of darker with my chemical) x

twocatsandatoddler · 02/06/2016 11:12

Sounds fine to me at 16dpo kellz, I'd imagine hormone levels fluctuate a lot depending on time of day, how much you've had to drink etc, and different tests all have different sensitivities even if they say they pick up 10mlu or 25 mlu so you definitely can't compare the strength of the line on different tests. I didn't even get a line at all until 16 dpo, and that was a faint one on a FRER! If you're worried I'd leave it a good few more days to a week and use a CB digital again, but I'm sure everything's fine!

SBSparkles · 02/06/2016 11:16

Thanks everyone....I called my ivf clinic and they said it can be normal but can't know anything until the scan in two weeks. I'm also not 6 weeks as we don't count from last period with IVF - they make up the date so I'm not even 5 weeks yet - not till Sat! This is torture!! Smile I so wish wine was ok with pregnancy! Hehe! X

HighHopes16 · 02/06/2016 11:24

Talking of wine...I've got a night out planned this weekend - how am I going to get out of drinking? I'd love to tell my friends but it's far too early and I won't get away with only drinking mixers (& pretending there's a spirit) because we usually buy in rounds aghh!

Jeanniejampots80 · 02/06/2016 11:31

Drive? That's what I am planning next week. I intend to say down thing came up so I had to drive to the night out.

Am stuck in loo at work feeling awful with the nausea but have big job interview next week so can't even pretend to be sick and go home

HighHopes16 · 02/06/2016 11:39

I can't drive so that wouldn't work! Grin

Kellz92 · 02/06/2016 11:44

Thanks Twocats

I think it is more my mind than anything! i have a boots digital and a CB weeks indicator digital, will use over next week. i have nothing to think i may be losing the baby, just me being scared. Thank you :)

HighHopes - antibiotics? i did that lol x

twocatsandatoddler · 02/06/2016 11:45

I got DH to sneakily go and buy me a mixer without spirits, or a non-alcoholic beer and swap with my drink. If we were out for dinner and there was wine on the table I would make a small glass last for the whole meal, and DH would swap his more empty one for my full one so it looked like I was drinking more than a couple of sips.

Kellz92 · 02/06/2016 11:48

Twocats its my birthday in two weeks and im going to get hubby to just have coke and we can swap lol

was supposed to be having a bbq and drinks not now haha just a meal xx

Jojoclaire · 02/06/2016 12:18

I'm pretty happy today as just got blood test results back of 2743. I wanted to check it wasn't connected to the m/c 5 wks ago and all seems good so far, phew! Anyone else had bloods done?

twocatsandatoddler · 02/06/2016 12:19

Actually a bbq or something at your house is easier as you can make your own drinks and no one knows what's in them, or you can abandon drinks other people get for you, it's rounds in the pub that's the hardest.

None of this is an issue second time round as I don't have a social life now we have DS anyway! Although I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks for my brother's 30th and there's no way I'll be able to keep up pretence for a whole long weekend. I'm thinking I might just tell people if it looks obvious, we're telling my brothers and my BIL anyway, and all the other people going are my brothers friends who I don't really know so if I did have a mc I don't think I'd mind them knowing as I wouldn't be seeing them any time soon anyway (bro lives in Glasgow, I'm in SE England!).

Kellz92 · 02/06/2016 12:25

thats good Jojo

Twocats - just going to a restaurant so will be fine :) Im not a big drinker but everybody would know i wasnt drunk haha, plus cant stomach the thought of bbq food and lots of people there, if i go for a meal it will be with my parents who know, my grandparents and auntie dont know, but they wuld believe im driving as DH doesnt drive much :)

thats the only social thing for me lol, Ah where are you going? Im in Aberdeenshire :)

Im going on holiday but ill be 15 weeks by then :) xx

PhoebeGeebee · 02/06/2016 12:31

Jojo - do you have bloods done at your dr apt or your booking in apt? I phoned the doctors to try and find out contact details for the MW and they said I had to come in and see them first to get referred. Am terrified that they'll do bloods there and it'll show nothing.

Lalalala2015 · 02/06/2016 12:41

Hi ladies how are you all doing?
Sounds great jojo and phoebe I know every doctors is different, at mine you don't get bloods taken until you see the midwife. They would do a beta hcg if there was any bleeding or worries though.
Still not much going on with me. I am quite bloated and my nipples are a bit sore!
I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow so if I make it to 6 weeks I'll book my midwife appointment Smile

Jojoclaire · 02/06/2016 12:47

I dont work anywhere near my gp and we're lucky to have access to a work one so I got it done privately for £34. I told doc about the m/c so she was happy to do it and said I could pass the results on to my doc/ EPU when I can get there. Is very reassuring, I'm sure anyone could get one if they wanted, as long as done properly?

Kellz I know Aberdeenshire well! Lovely part of the world, hope the sun's shining!
