Looks like I am the first one due 1st Feb but I tested very early as I felt weird and pregnant!

This is baby no 3 I have two DDs who are 2 and 3.

When did some of you book your private scans? I'm thinking of having one at around 8 or 9 weeks because I know I won't be able to wait until 12 weeks and want to tell work a bit earlier if possible. The company I work for deem the wards unsafe for pregnant employees so I will be moved to an off ward department. I plan to see my GP on Tuesday, will it be wiser to wait until after that appointment to book a scan?

Masweetpea1 · 10/06/2016 18:19

I've booked a scan for 8 weeks on 2 July. Didn't do it last time but wanted to this time.
I had a c section last time, scar seems ok so far (fingers crossed)
We've had the first of dd's birthday party's today. My feet feel like they're going to drop off and I'm really dizzy. Think i overdid it.

The second one is tomorrow but this one is mainly adults, so should be a bit easier. Fingers crossed x

wispaxmas · 10/06/2016 18:58

I've gone for bang on 8 weeks as the chances of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks drop waaay down and there's very little difference between then and 12 weeks.

GinandJazzHands · 10/06/2016 19:13

Hi everyone can I join? BFP at 10DPO this morning with FRER after 6 months trying for #1. EDD 21 Feb. Worried I am seriously jinxing it by hopping on here so very early (3 weeks, 3 days?) but ecstatic and bricking it in equal measure. Told my jubilant DH this morning and I'm now alone all weekend as he is away, so appreciate the company! Lovely to see some other names here from previous threads. Fx for sticky beans.

MarjorySunshineDust · 10/06/2016 19:25

Evening everyone, I'm just waiting for my takeaway to arrive. Stuffing my face before the morning sicknes starts Wink
So glad it's the weekend, dd has been a terror today and I'm so exhausted. DH is taking her out tomorrow so I can rest.

Welcome aubergine and congratulations on your bfp! Agree with friendlyghost about the implantation bleeding.

Lala6971 · 10/06/2016 19:27

Just thought I would say a quick hello. Still lurking, still serial testing and still praying our little Ivf miracle is a sticky embaby. Just counting the days until our first scan next Friday. Our EDD is 6/2/17 so far. X

Sienna9522 · 10/06/2016 19:36

Welcome Gin, I also found out around the same time as you. Congrats and Fx for a healthy pregnancy.

I couldn't resist, I've gone and secured an appointment for an early scan. I will be about 7 weeks and 4 days when I have it. I did want at least 8 weeks but the only other appointments available would make me at least 11 weeks. So figured it's pointless as I could receive an NHS scan around or shortly after that date.

HighSparrow · 10/06/2016 19:40

Hi everyone... I'm 4 weeks today and officially passed my af, yay Grin
Feel a bit more comfortable now although still pissing on sticks like crazy making sure lines are getting darker!

Loving all the new mid-Feb bfps! Welcome gin and others I've missed!

What's everyone's diets like?? I'm trying to be better and drink green smoothies but that's about it so far!

GinandJazzHands · 10/06/2016 19:51

Hi Sienna and Sparrow thanks for the welcome. Sparrow I'm just googling all the things we should be eating in early pregnancy. Green smoothies sound good. I am planning on doing a healthy preggo shop in the morning and stocking up on the pre-natal vitamins too (almost out of the pregnacare conception ones). I've been trying to eat more greens, fruits and lean meats and to lose some weight anyway as I am overweight. I know we are not supposed to 'diet' in pregnancy but hopefully continuing to exercise (jogging at a slow to moderate pace) and eat well will still help. I'm just hoping I can keep it up if I start to feel tired/sick/cravings.

GinandJazzHands · 10/06/2016 19:53

My shopping list is getting pretty long... I have visions of me gorging on all of this healthy food and piling on the (non baby) weight anyway!

wispaxmas · 10/06/2016 20:34

LOL, gin, I'm far less optimistic, but then I managed to 'lose' weight my last pregnancy in that I was a couple lbs lighter after giving birth than I had been when I fell pregnant, and I didn't change my diet at all.

I have to admit I've been eating TERRIBLY recently. I'm talking take aways and Haagen Dazs. And coco shreddies. And milkshakes and burgers and all things delicious and awful. It doesn't help that we had two birthdays this week, though, so I like to think I'll get back to being moderately healthy shortly.

MarjorySunshineDust · 10/06/2016 20:44

Ooh hello Gin! I missed your post at the end there!

I had been eating healthily and trying to lose a bit of weight before I fell pregnant, hoping to continue with the healthy eating (ignoring tonight's takeaway...) I don't usually eat much fish but going to try and have it a bit more often now. I used to love green smoothies but they give me terrible indigestion now!
I did get awful morning sickness last time and just had to eat what I could stomach at the time.

MarjorySunshineDust · 10/06/2016 20:47

I was the same Wispa weighed a bit less after delivery than before pregnancy. I think it was the morning sickness until 20odd weeks and then the baby taking up so much space meaning I could only eat small amounts!

auberginefrog · 10/06/2016 20:51

Aw thanks for the welcome and reassurance ghost and Marjory - this is my second (all going well) and edd would be 6/2/17 - eep typing that makes it seem very real!

Was reading back there and sienna just wanted to say my hay fever got better in pregnancy something to do with the immune system damping down so you don't reject the baby so you might feel better than usual this year?

HighSparrow · 10/06/2016 20:52

I'm overweight too but I'm hoping the lack of alcohol over the next 8 months will mean the weight will drop off!! Wishful thinking I think..

FriendlyGhost · 10/06/2016 21:17

Welcome GinSmile
I need to make an effort to be healthy. Last pregnancy the nausea and tiredness meant that I needed to snack constantly to get through the day. I found my sickness worse if I was hungry. I'm also still breastfeeding which has given me a really bad sweet tooth. I do eat a lot of fruit and veg though.

SpinALittleFaster · 10/06/2016 21:23

Friendly my DD is almost 15 months. It feels like stretching mostly but occasionally really uncomfortable around the scar. Maybe I should try to speak to my midwife. Haven't registered with her yet though.

wispaxmas · 10/06/2016 21:36

marjory, just be careful with fish that contain lots of mercury - you're not supposed to have too much when you're pregnant!

I made it through DD's 2nd birthday and I'm so tired from everything and the party isn't even until tomorrow. I can't believe it's a Friday and I'm in bed before 10! Also, I miss my dog and I want tomorrow's party to be over already so that she will be home for as much cuddling as the cone of shame will allow.

Readytosettle · 10/06/2016 21:39

Yay to scan buddies wispa! I did shop around a bit for the scan but had to weigh up the saving to travel vs convenience so ended up with a Sunday appointment 2 miles up the road....it's worth the extra £30 honest. That scan's just 2 weeks away now (I'll be 8+6).

Another one who lost weight during last pg (despite eating a tonne of ice cream)....ashamed to say I really do drink a lot of booze normally!!

GinandJazzHands · 10/06/2016 21:48

Ladies your posts have made me feel a lot better. Had lost a bit of weight whilst TTC but not as much as I'd hoped and feeling the pressure of being healthy! I know when it comes to it though I'll probably do whatever it takes to get through the day if symptoms get bad. Know what you mean about the booze ready - going to seriously miss a G&T! Think I'll treat myself to some posh elderflower tonic water and make believe there's gin in it.

MarjorySunshineDust · 10/06/2016 21:48

Oh yes wispa thanks for the reminder! Children's parties are exhausting at the best of times, hope it goes smoothly and your dd enjoys it.

GinandJazzHands · 10/06/2016 21:50

wispa that sounds knackering, hope you get a good nights rest!

PhoebeGeebee · 10/06/2016 22:07

Jeez! I never even considered the weight I'd lose by ditching the booze. Bonus!

FriendlyGhost · 10/06/2016 22:19

The worrying is getting to me already. I've just found a place quite near me that does scans from 8 weeks for £45. Bargain! Now to get DH to agree. I also want a Doppler scan at 32 weeks which I had last time but it's quite pricey so I don't think he'll be best pleased.
I also need to register with a midwife. Have you all done this already? I haven't even booked a Drs appointment yet!!

Sienna9522 · 10/06/2016 22:21

Glad I'm not the only one who will miss a nice alcoholic beverage.
