Welcome Jess !

I'm currently talking folic acid & have been for the last few months but I've read you are meant to take Vitamin D too?

HappyMummy1234 · 03/06/2016 11:20

I too watched that programme last night and wished I hadn't! I am taking the pregnacare one a days but who knows what we should do for the best!

In previous pregnancies I suffered with HG so bad that I couldn't keep anything down so couldn't even take folic acid and had 4 healthy ones all over 8lbs too! I was so carefree and complacent back then - broke all the do not eat rules as frankly I hated food, so if I did fancy something I ate it! This time I am over analysing everything! Sometimes I think too much knowledge is not a good thing! I wish I could be blissfully ignorant again as would be far less stressful!

HappyMummy1234 · 03/06/2016 11:21

Congratulations Jess! X

Jojoclaire · 03/06/2016 11:58

I agree, too much info out there, and from different sources.

So I know you guys probably aren't having the blood tests to get your hcg, but the doc suggested I get another one to confirm definitely wasn't linked to previous miscarriage, and they've gone from 2379 to 6087 in 2 days! Have had to prep DH for twins Confused Winkbut not really sure what's going on! Would have been far more relaxed not knowing tbh!

HappyMummy1234 · 03/06/2016 12:10

How exciting / scary Jojo! Great that your HCG levels are increasing so well. I have had early scans twice for twins scare. First was while I was in hospital with such severe HG at 4 weeks and second time was because the midwife was concerned at my booking in appointment at 9 weeks. She said she could feel far more of my uterus than she should had have been able to and I was huge - looked about 5/6 months pregnant! That was funny as we had a weekend to wait before the scan, so I got my head around the idea and was actually a bit disappointed when we found out it was just one. My husband on the other hand was utterly relieved!!!

shadz · 03/06/2016 12:12

Hey due date around 4th Feb congrats ladies !!!!

Kellz92 · 03/06/2016 12:41

Congrats Jess :)

Jojo Im just taking folic acid just now wasnt sure which were best or just a waste of money!!

HighHopes one of my apps said vitD too, i have some from when we were ttc so not sure if i should be taking them

With DD i only took Folic Acid but was so sick they came up again so stopped and she was fine xx

PhoebeGeebee · 03/06/2016 12:56

Question: Although I'm 6+1 (dating from my LMP) how will that translate at a scan? I have an early pregnancy scan on the 17th when I should be 8+1, but will that really be 6+1 and therefore, will they be able to find a heartbeat?

I'm getting myself tied up in knots with this date malarkey!

HappyMummy1234 · 03/06/2016 14:15

Hi Pheobe, they will date you from LMP not conception, so will be 8+1 (unless they adjust your dates a little at the scan). By that gestation they should be able to see everything on an ultrasound, however, if you aren't as far along as you think and they can't get a clear picture they may do a transvaginal scan. its absolutely no worse than a smear (minus the scraping!), so don't be fearful of it! Ultrasound should be fine though and yes, you should see heartbeat. If you're concerned why don't you call the clinic where you have the scan booked and let them set your mind at rest. X

wispaxmas · 03/06/2016 14:17

Ready, not a waste if you're getting your mat exemption card already!!!

Kellz92 · 03/06/2016 14:18

no if you think you will be around 8+1 according to your lmp, thats what it will show, or around that anyway :) xx

ScottishSnowflake · 03/06/2016 15:39

Hi all! May I join? I've just found out I'm pregnant with my first, apparently 4 weeks today! My booking in appointment isn't until July though so I've got a while to wait and we're holding off telling anyone other than family until then. I'd like some handholding as I really have no idea what to expect as this'll be the first baby in our family (both mine and hubby's) for over 20yrs! Hubby and I are early 30s. Took 4 tests just to check the ones before weren't lying - oops Blush

shadz · 03/06/2016 15:56

Hi ScottishSnowflake I also took three test to make sure it's my first baby I am in my late twenties .. I have no idea what to expect at least we will be on this journey together good luck Grin

Readytosettle · 03/06/2016 16:09

Just worked out that my booking in apt isn't until I'm 11 wks prego! I've now booked a private scan for 9 weeks though so at least I've got that to look forward to before the end of the month Smile

lawyeredout82 · 03/06/2016 17:44

I had my scan date through earlier this week - not until 29th July (I will be 12+6!!). Seems like forever away...!

I had a few early scans last time - a couple in the EPU and one private so don't think I will be able to hold out until the end of July. It is very strange having nearly identical dates to last time - bit like Groundhog Day!!

Lalalala2015 · 03/06/2016 17:54

Congrats to all the new bfps!

Lawyered my due date is 2 days before my Los birthday! Maybe my body just likes being pregnant at this time haha

I couldn't resist testing again today with a different brand of test lol got another nice dark line. Whatever keeps us sane hey?! And none of the tests have been with fmu!

On a side note does anyone's stomach hurt when they sneeze? That's been happening to me today.

Lalalala2015 · 03/06/2016 17:56

Also what was the programme about vitamins? Or maybe I don't want to know!
I took pregnacare all through my pregnancy with my lo and had no problems.

ScottishSnowflake · 03/06/2016 18:04

Glad to see I'm not the only one taking multiple tests Wink many congrats to all on here, really looking forward to taking the journey with you all

wispaxmas · 03/06/2016 18:08

I'm just taking all my cheap tests once every couple day, even though I know it's pointless!!

wispaxmas · 03/06/2016 18:09

Oh, and we need extra vitamin d in pregnancy, and a lot of women need extra iron as well. Then there's folic acid, too, and in the end it's easier to take a multi vitamin than 3 different ones. So long as there's no vitamin A I thought it was fine, is it not??

wispaxmas · 03/06/2016 18:10

Lawyeredout, my nhs scan is the day before yours, but I've booked a rotate once for 22 June!

CinderellaFant · 03/06/2016 20:28

Hi all, hope you are enjoying the lovely weather! I got a bit burnt today oops! I made my GP booking in appointment today, I'll be just over 6 weeks I think! Getting very real, I'm starting to believe it now!

Kellz92 · 03/06/2016 20:47

Congrats to the bfps

Lalala my due date is the same as with DD. She was born on 31st Jan.

Xx

twocatsandatoddler · 03/06/2016 21:39
