PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Danni me too on baby stuff delivery day. Grin

Thanks Pink I really wanted some black ones to go with all the little harem pants I'm making. Then got distracted by iron on transfers and voila.

I'm only so organised as I have no work and it stops me going mad. I'm officially on maternity from tomorrow though woop (HMRC reasons). I can't believe in a week Mor, New and I will be on single digits (once we get to 9+6 remaining Wink)

Tonight is my first hypnobirthing class ahh. I'm nervous.

Potato you must be excited to see her little
Face again. Please post a pic, it's not often you get to see scans post 20 weeks.

Anyone had any crazy dizzy spells lately? I got up for a wee in the night and couldn't sit up the room was spinning so much.
DH had to take me to the loo, catch me when I near fell into the wardrobe and again when I fell into bed. I'm still dizzy this morning but I can walk around.

Good luck for scans today. I plan on finishing off my muslin washing, nappy rinsing and the currently embroidery on the go. I had a minor win today so far, my body may be failing me at enabling me to do anything normal but I did get the garden parasol up
Woop!!

IrregularCommentary · 31/05/2016 10:40

Hey all, been a bit quiet as it's been a bit stupid busy here, but have been keeping up with you all. Can't believe there'll be actual babies from this thread soon! I am firmly in the camp of having no idea what to do with an actual baby...

So, I've just got back from the hospital. 35min drive (70min round trip) as I had an anaesthetic clinic to attend due to previous slipped discs. Absolutely lovely and incredibly apologetic receptionist informed me that my appointment is in fact tomorrow, as it states quite clearly in both my notes and my phones calendar.

I am an idiot.

PotatosMum · 31/05/2016 10:43

bunch woohoo for mat leave from tomorrow!

I've had a couple of dizzy spells but nothing like what you have described. Do you think it's blood pressure related?

I have more issues with shortness of breath but from what I've read if your baby is breach the head constricts your lungs so that's normal Confused

I will definitely post photos from my scan if I can (my hospital do have a sign up to say you can't buy photos after 20 weeks but it can't hurt to ask)

shelbTa · 31/05/2016 11:02

Thanks potato - ah yes please post scan!

Bunch - that sounds rough, take it easy. Not dizzy but overwhelming knackeredness where I can't physically get up.

X

Sodasoda · 31/05/2016 11:06

Good luck with your scan co5mo

I have growth scans too - every 2 weeks from 28 weeks so baby will be very photographed! We can't buy photos after 24 weeks and apparently after about 30 you can't make out much anyway as baby so squished! Will be nice and reassuring to have scans so often though (mine are because of my blood pressure).

Wow bunch - mat leave! Seems like a lifetime away for me still!

danni thanks for NCT discount heads up - I ordered a sleepyhead. First real purchase for us so feels quite real and exciting Smile

Newmrs22 · 31/05/2016 11:23

bunch how exciting to be officially on mat leave! Mine feels ages away.
Dizziness sounds awful. You poor thing. Maybe speak to midwife if it carries on?

I have a couple of extra scans. One for low placenta (fingers crossed it moves) at 31 weeks and one at 36 weeks which is a growth scan my hospital does, I think as part of a clinical trial to see if it should be standard--not sure really though! They seem to love doing extra stuff to me because I agreed to take part in a couple of studies.

Mileymoocow · 31/05/2016 12:13

Sorry, been crazy busy this bank holiday and back at work today.

Managed to sleep headache from hell off, and other than nausea and a bit vomiting I was ok yesterday. Thanks to whoever asked Grin

I feel prepared in the sense that I have most of what we need. But I'm also terrified about having a tiny human to look after and having no idea what to do with him/her! Good to see I'm not alone on that one!

bunch wow! Official maternity leave. Mine isn't until Sept 16th, which feels like forever away. I second the blood pressure, I have always had low blood pressure and it knocks me dizzy, and absolutely exhausts me. Maybe give your midwife a quick call though as that sounds severe

Co5mo · 31/05/2016 12:19

Oh Irregular that's a pain. Do you get text message appointment reminders? I'd be showing up a day late without them.

So for another two weeks at least I'm teamless. Baby was not playing and after drinking a bottle of cold ribena and walking around baby was hiding further down in my pelvis. Apparently baby is the lowest the sonographer has ever seen. Not entirelessly sure what that means.

BunchOfBobs · 31/05/2016 13:07

Good point those co5mo you get to see baby again on 2 weeks time Smile
My dizziness has finally buggered off but I will call if it happens again.

I naturally have low blood pressure anyway so it wouldn't surprise me but I didn't feel weak or anything like I normally would. Just listed severely to the left. In my sleepy state I said to DH "I'm broken, I feel like a fish with a dodgy swim bladder". He woke me this morning asking how his broken fish was Grin

Pinklily1 · 31/05/2016 13:11

Bunch, that's the kind of dizziness I had earlier on. Midwife told me it was blood pressure related and referred me to a consultant, who told me that they wouldn't do anything about it unless it got to the point that I couldn't walk more than a few steps without holding onto something. Utterly useless. I second that you should mention it to your midwife though, if it's just coming on.

Cosmo, that's frustrating! Was everything otherwise ok with baby? Do you have another scan booked in?

Co5mo · 31/05/2016 13:28

Rescan two weeks today. Good point about getting to see baby an extra time. It's not too inconvenient, DH is off work anyway and I only have to pop across the road from my office to the antinatal clinic.

Everything they could see looked fine. I have a short fat baby (big tummy short legs but all within normal ranges) who takes after it's Gran in being awkward.

LisaTheSimpson · 31/05/2016 14:01

Hi everyone,

Sorry to have been a bit AWOL. I was away from Wednesday to yesterday and I’m only catching up now.

Realise I’ve missed loads, but a few things to comment on from what I can remember of the last seven pages…

Bunch - can’t believe you’re almost on mat leave now, that’s so exciting. I hope it’s all going well. Also, OMG about the custard brioche (I clearly need to find my nearest Lild pronto….). Also, I’ve been loving your Insta photos.

Shelb - yes, watching everyone drink frosted lager and chilled white wine in the sun is a tad depressing. Especially when people have a sip and go ‘Ohhh! God, that’s good’. Well yes, thank you for rubbing it in…. Pink - I could really do with a Peroni….

Lauren and Leonie - I’m 22+1 today and I still barely feel any movement either (I also have an anterior placenta) Sad Can't wait for the movement to start.

Great scan photo, Feef! Glad it all went well!

Miley - hope you’re feeling better and the headaches/migraines (they sound like migraines) have gone away).

Co5mo - glad the scan went well!

PotatosMum · 31/05/2016 15:10

Ooo looks like lots of us will be having extra scans Smile most of mine happen after I go on may leave so I'm quite looking forward to them as something to occupy me.

New hope your placenta moves. I think I read that they usually do.

Co5mo it sucks that they couldn't do the full scan today. Still, it'll be nice for you to have an extra scan to look forward to. And lol at short fat baby... As long as it's not his head that's fat Shock

All those saying they can't wait to feel baby... I'm now finding the movement a bit off putting Blush Potato gets very excitable and wiggly whenever I eat and it honestly feels like I have a stomach full of live eels Confused when you're trying to have dinner it's a bit distracting to say the least!

BunchOfBobs · 31/05/2016 15:58

Potato I'm at the point of not sure if I'm enjoying it or slightly freaked out. My bump now changes shape dependant on Pips position and I can feel limbs, not just kicks. It's weird, lovely weirdness that in unsure of sometimes. Oh and the bladder kicks Angry.

See photo for pointy bump just now. Thanks to a nicely positioned bum. I'm not naked, bump likes to obscure my clothes.

LisaTheSimpson · 31/05/2016 16:08

Great pointy bump, Bunch!

Potato, your description of it being like 'a stomach full of live eels' has both made me chuckle and freak out (I'm terrified of snakes/eels, things like that).

IrregularCommentary · 31/05/2016 17:10

What a pain about the positioning co5mo though at least you're booked back in. I've had at least two text reminders of the appointment - just didn't bother reading them because I knew when it was Blush

Are you General or Royal out of interest? (I'm sure it was you who's not too far from me)

shelbTa · 31/05/2016 17:49

Bunch I get that all the time, the pointy bit - is that the butt??!!

X

BunchOfBobs · 31/05/2016 17:50

Shelb I think so. Midwife told me the way to tell was bum feels more square and doesn't move when poked. You can move the head and it's rounder.

Pinklily1 · 31/05/2016 18:20

Potato, the eels comment is so true!

Bunch, the pointy tummy photo is brilliant.

I've had lots of belly movement but for he first time last night my tummy actually rippled across from one side to the other, presumably baby was having a wiggle round but that really freaked me out!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 31/05/2016 18:29

My ndn (36 weeks) likened the movement to seasickness. She said when there's a full "roll" it can make her feel slightly off balance like the world is moving Grin

In other news, I'm SO glad I live 4 hours away from the majority of dh's family. "Grandmother in law" is an epic cunt. Despite breathe.

15 weeks tomorrow, no bump more of a 'who ate all the pies' mini gut by mid afternoon. Been having a catch up, thinking of you all but have no energy to actually post anything interesting (mainly because nothing interesting has happened!)

StarkyTheDirewolf · 31/05/2016 18:30

Despite? ...was supposed to be deep breathe.

Canters15 · 31/05/2016 19:17

I am so behind with this thread. Off work with sickness again and feel miserable. Gender scan this weekend though which is exciting, and only three weeks til I'm on holiday in Greece...feel very in need of the break now. Hope all ok here.

Mileymoocow · 31/05/2016 19:42

bunch looks freaky but amazing Grin are you sunbathing in your garden?! Glorious northern weather means I will most likely never have that luxury.

starky is this the same dgm who calls you by DHs exs name?! Sounds like a right arse

I managed to have a poo Grin Grin feel like celebrating.

Pinklily1 · 31/05/2016 19:55

Woo hoo on the poo Miley!!

Canters - sorry to hear the sickness is still bad. How far along are you now?

Starky - what's the MIL done?

PotatosMum · 31/05/2016 20:08

Bunch your pointy tummy is impressive. Mine hasn't done anything like that yet, although it is constantly a bit lopsided Confused

Lisa sorry my eel analogy weirded you out that really is what it feels like though

Stark sorry you're still having issues with your DHs family. I'm sure you really don't need the aggravation right now.

Canters sorry you're feeling sick again Sad how many weeks are you now?

Miley yay! Have a ticker tape poo parade that sounded better in my head

Potato is currently entertaining me by poking the top of my bump near my ribs fir the first time. I knew she was big now but I didn't really appreciate that she would be able to reach up that far.

OH has just done his first couch to 5k session on my running machine... I don't think he enjoyed it Wink
