Thread #6 - TTC#1 Grads - Sun roasted pregnant ladies

PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Pink weetabix and fruit helps me but when when ahem stuck try a hot drink. Prune juice works and fig rolls have been sworn by. Knees above your hips. Lots of fibre and keep hydrated. Don't force it, just wait for the poo gods to bless you otherwise you'll not be grateful for the piles. I speak from experience.

Nevlet · 09/05/2016 16:52

Pink ive had success with a caffeine coffee, soft fruits (mango is mu favourite) and prune juice. I do find i have no quick fix I need to keep my diet high fruit all the time and drink a lot of water everyday too.

Feefeefs · 09/05/2016 17:02

28, 7/9 weeks with number 1. Midwife on Wednesday, repeat early scan Saturday.

Nausea and I think what might be the beginnings of SPD or else is sciatia Sad hobbling around in work.

Currently getting evils from the lady beside me who was using the priority seat on the train for her bag!! Just try me b**ch!!!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/05/2016 17:11

pink bran flakes and dried fruit (which I've been having for brekkie with a yohgurt) licorice, when I was really bunged up I had a proper caffeinated filter coffee.

shelbTa · 09/05/2016 17:29

Pink - raw carrots. Trust me - someone told me about them and I've been eating them every day and I'm more active than before i was preggo!

BunchOfBobs · 09/05/2016 17:57

Anybody else suffering from pins and needles in their hands or feet? Not all the time but it's happening a lot more frequently than it ever has before.

Sodasoda · 09/05/2016 18:07

pink, I had given up ever poo-ing properly again but this holiday I have eaten SO much that I've been quite regular!! So that would be my tip- eat a ridiculous amount so that you have no choice but to evacuate Wink Grapes are quite good too. Constipation has been my most enduring and most annoying pregnancy symptom - kicked in pretty early and has got worse. Good luck!

No pins and needles bunch but I've been having really bad cramps in my calfs at night time. Anyone else? Any remedies for that?

BunchOfBobs · 09/05/2016 18:16

Soda I've had it once and it was awful. I flew out of bed when it happened, hip pain couldn't even stop me. A banana before bed has kept it at bay since. Supposedly it's a potassium or magnesium deficiency or salt. Due to my water retention I am certainly not upping my salt intake.

Sodasoda · 09/05/2016 18:24

Thanks bunch, its agony isn't it? Bananas are one thing I've really gone off during pregnancy - I used to eat them quite regularly but just the thought of them (think it's a texture thing) made me sick early on and I haven't braved them again. I might have to woman up!

shelbTa · 09/05/2016 18:37

Bunch - I did in the beginning actually but it has tailed off now.

Nevlet · 09/05/2016 18:54

Little man has gotten so active in the last week (more likely i can just feel it now!) the last few days you can see the bigger kicks and rolls. Have just sat for about ten minutes watching my belly jump and wriggle around. Such a strange but incredible feeling.

LaraG13 · 09/05/2016 19:21

Just read an interesting old wives' tale that claims has some basis in science. If your body hair grows faster/thicker/ in new places during pregnancy it's meant to be an indication of having a boy (because you produce extra testosterone with a boy). If your hair growth slows down it's an indicator of girl. My leg hair growth had slowed right down. How about others? Hairier or less hairy and does this theory work in you case? (if you know). Might be total nonsense, obviously :)

Nevlet · 09/05/2016 19:27

My body hair and nails have grown super fast, hair hair not so much but is very thick lara. And I'm team blue Smile

shelbTa · 09/05/2016 19:45

My leg hair has slowed right down actually - I'm having a girl.

BunchOfBobs · 09/05/2016 19:46

Same* as Nev* here with faster growing hair and nails. And boy do I have a hairy bumpBlush

IndiX · 09/05/2016 20:15

I'm a really hairy person pre-pregnancy and during pregnancy. I'm team pink and I WISH that my hair growth would slow down..here's hoping that theory kicks in for me sometime!

Constipation wise, I've been regular through out but have heard grapes, oranges and drinking LOADS of water helps. I have suffered from piles a couple of weeks ago even though I wasn't constipated?!Hmm

Laurenrl · 09/05/2016 20:42

Team pink and hair growth is at least double what it was before, darker, thicker, quicker and a right pain in the arse :) (sorry to ruin your theory, maybe I'm just weird)

Going to elvedon bunch have only been to Longleat before, gutted about the rapids but my costume did fit (just!) so haven't had to have a tantrum day or have next drive through a forest after all 🤗

Pinklily1 · 09/05/2016 21:00

Thanks for the constipation tips ladies. I've stocked up on prune juice, prune yoghurt, mango, carrot sticks and a few other bits. I'm having All Bran most mornings for breakfast but will have some Bran Flakes too. I do not want to be bunged up Confused

Reading through the stats, it seems like some of us are flying along time wise. Not long now till you hit 12 weeks Starky!! Have you got a scan date yet?

Cosmo, that's a beautiful garden!

I hope Miley is ok, she's been MIA for a while for her.

On the hair point, I'd say I'm pretty much the same as before hair wise. I'm Team Pink.

Good luck for the scans this week!

I'm off to watch Bunch's dancing tummy video....

BunchOfBobs · 09/05/2016 21:03

I think Miley is away Pink. She's posting hot tub pics on IG so id say she's doing well. She looks it Grin

PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 21:15

Stark when I'm not pregnant I'm overjoyed to get my ass into a size 10 Confused

Pink I'm a firm believer in fig rolls but I also had beans on toast last week two days in a row and that really got me moving but it also had me farting near constantly

Feefs give her pregnant lady glares in return.

Bunch no pins and needles here. I think it's a side effect of water retention.

Soda I get cramps in my calves all the time but no idea what to do about it.

Nev the belly movement is quite mesmerising isn't it? Potato's just started doing it today but she's literally been at it all afternoon.

Lara Potato is a girl and my hair is growing thick and fast so not sure about that wives tail. I also have a hairy bump and my arms are really hairy... The only place hair has slowed is on my legs Confused

I think I may have sprained my wrist because I'm too fat pregnant to get out of a chair without lifting myself with my arms Blush

Anyone else really looking forward to the sewing bee on Monday? I love that show Grin

Pinklily1 · 09/05/2016 21:16

Ah, I just saw those when I went on to look at your video! It's brilliant that you captured the movement!

mayago · 09/05/2016 21:43

What a glorious garden Cosmo!

I'm May, 34, with a 5+5 nameless seeding with a lovely beating heart that I still see when I close my eyes!

Mini-confession time: I've had ONE decent poo since my BFP last month. Since seeing that second line everything changed; I can't fit into my clothes anymore either Hmm. Boobs, sadly, haven't visibly changed too much, but are sensitive and sore.

Not looking forward to cramps in my calves. I get them occasionally anyhow, and they really ruin your day! In the past I've had sports drinks, bananas, or tonic water to prevent them, and I've heard the juice in a jar of gherkins will do the trick as well Wink

leoniethelioness · 09/05/2016 21:45

Placemarking!

I'm Leonie, 27, and 19+5 with baby #1 called Pepper. Growing bigger by the day but still waiting to feel movement. (I've had a couple of twitches in my belly but nothing I can definitely call Pepper. I'm getting a bit impatient.)

Newest pregnancy symptom: almost fainting on the train to work - I will be taking your advice on board, shelb, about the ice water!

Current pregnancy food love: Galaxy chocolate. Nothing else tastes right. I have an aversion to all fruit apart from grapes and berries but I'm trying to still eat apples and bananas. Healthy eating is an uphill battle.

If Pepper co-operates, I will be joining team pink or blue tomorrow. I have absolutely no inkling! We can only agree on a girl's name so we're probably having a boy... My scan is in the afternoon so I'll try to update in the evening. I'm also thinking about doing a Facebook announcement (nothing cringeworthy) tomorrow if it all goes to plan. I've managed to avoid it so far but I would quite like to join some baby-related Facebook groups without raising eyebrows! Has anyone done one? What did you say or did you just share your scan photo?

Pink - Bran flakes with added raisins has kept constipation at bay for me so I can recommend it if you're a cereal person.

Co5mo - I think I have the same swimming costume from Next. I'm pleased with it!

Planeteer · 09/05/2016 21:51

Place marking, thanks for new thread Potato!

Planet, 30, 17+2 with baby no 1 currently called Pancake. Starting to feel flutters over the last few days and now out of any trousers that aren't maternity ones!

New symptom today is heartburn, which coupled with round ligament pain is making me a giant ball of uncomfortable.

Hope everyone's doing ok, will catch up properly soon.

Pinklily1 · 09/05/2016 22:12

Good luck for tomorrow Leonie!

I've had a prune yogurt after dinner And lots of water. Will be on the bran flakes in the morning Wink
