Thread #6 - TTC#1 Grads - Sun roasted pregnant ladies

PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Nev sounds like your little one has done exactly the same as mine! I can't feel kicks any more, although I've seen a couple above my belly button and I can feel arms flailing lower down where I normally get kicks. Very strange!

Has anyone started getting braxton hix yet? I'm not entirely sure I'd know if I had Confused

We've got 3 or 4 electric shavers so I've been using that and just giving myself a short back and sides! Grin No going down to the bone anymore. Dh will keep me tidy when I can't see my nethers anymore, he's done it before. Not waxing or doing a wet shave because of fear of ingrowns and itchy rash! Plus biggest fear of near due date being completely bald, needed a c-section or stitches down below and hair follicles getting stitched inwards or the regrowth hell of itches with a painful swollen post baby foof. Kind I've already sort of given up for my own vag, trying to contemplate the fact that it will look like someone's just punched a side of beef.

LillianFullStop · 27/05/2016 15:57

Busy week so trying to catch up!

What a fab bump indi!! definitely celeb-level fabulous!

starky sorry to hear about DH' gran and bunch I hope your dad is feeling ok. goodluck on the application potato I hope this is the last lot of documentation and they just approve it already!!! And congrats planet ok the accepted offer!

Anyone got anything interesting planned for the bank holiday? I'm planning on sleeping in and having naps all 3 days I feel exhausted this week!!

Counting down 2 weeks til my 20w scan hoping all is a-ok with my little bee. Feeling a lot of movement now (more nudges than kicks at only 18w) so it's reassuring to know she's quite happily bumping in there but would be good to get the all clear at the anomaly scan. I can't believe I'm almost halfway! DH was asking when I'd like to stop work and I was thinking end of Sept... but my sister has gone at 38w for both DC so I'm guessing I might follow suit. That is so soon!!!

Danni89 · 27/05/2016 16:56

Hey girls,

Also having trouble keeping up.

But wanted to pop in and let you all know there's a 20% off sale on the NCT Website- gonna order the sleepyhead.

I have a babyshower to attend tomorrow with my Sis so hoping to steal some ideas for mine lol

Hope everyone is ok

PotatosMum · 27/05/2016 18:32

Lol, Stark sounds like you have a very well trained OH Wink

Lillian how exciting that you're nearly at 20 weeks Smile it's surprising how much of a relief it is when you get your anomaly scan out the way.

I'm starting maternity 4 weeks before I'm due. Both my nephews were early and with my complications I just don't think I can last much longer. Can't wait for my holiday to start in 4 weeks Smile

Danni when are you having your baby shower? I'm not going to bother (very little family and no close friends any more so no point) hope you enjoy it Smile

Had a lovely chilled out day at work today. It was my boss's birthday and our office was literally deserted so we had an easy day and took a long lunch with some other girls we used to work with by lunch I mean we went to an ice cream parlour then we left early. More days like this please.
I hadn't seen most of the girls since I was about 12 weeks so they were all quite surprised how big my bump is now and it was quite funny that every time anyone asked how things were going my manager appeared over my shoulder and said "Worse. Pregnancy. EVER!" Confused lol

potato we're thinking of having it 1st weekend of August- my dsis will be organising it. I know you had a falling out with your friends which is ashame, hopefully you'll make some mummy friends whilst on maternity leave

Pinklily1 · 27/05/2016 18:58

Stark, it does sound like your OH is well trained. Mine has flat out refused to do any foof related hair taming Hmm I'll be investing in frozen peas and going for waxes instead.

I've just calculated that it's 11 weeks until I start mat leave (I'll be 38 weeks by then), and I have almost 2 weeks holiday before that. It's exciting and scary all at the same time! Your 4 weeks will probably fly by potato. When is everyone else planning to finish?

I've had more comments about my size today. Someone asked me how far on I am and when I told them they commented that I still had a fair while to go but I seemed to have grown lots recently and already had a 'huge' bump Hmm I was feeling fairly good about myself as I had my favourite maternity dress on, but I had a biscuit after that comment to make myself feel better Grin

Potato, I'm jealous of your trip to an ice cream parlour! I'm loving ice cream at the minute although I did have a mini meltdown in the supermarket the other day when I realised that basically all Ben & Jerry's ice cream has chocolate in it. I had to resort to frozen yogurt instead.

shelbTa · 27/05/2016 19:28

Has anyone else got MAJOR jealousy depression at everyone out boozing in beer gardens?!

X

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 19:29

potato that sounds like an ideal day at work! My office was also pretty dead so I browsed baby stuff on websites Blush

pink I find it really odd how people think it's ok to comment on your body just because you're pregnant. I've had plenty of comments too.

danni - thanks for NCT heads up. I'm really keen on getting sleepyhead too. I've checked the website and it's coming up as £99 which is what it's usual price is anyway on Amazon - am I missing something? I'm an NCT member so do I just need to put in my membership number or something?

Really jealous of people with not much time left at work. I filled in my forms when I was feeling a bit enthusiastic and I'm planning my last day to be 2nd sept and my EDD is 14th sept so that may be cutting things a bit fine.... Hmm

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 19:30

Yes shelb I'm still really enjoying the non alcoholic lager though - nice and refreshing now it's warmer too. I'm relaxing on the sofa with a becks blue currently. Thank God it's the weekend!

Danni89 · 27/05/2016 19:34

soda I used the code BANKHOL20 and it worked, came down to £79.

pink I'm planning on finishing 5 weeks before due date, using 3 weeks holiday. Just because I think I'll struggle during the hot weather.

PotatosMum · 27/05/2016 19:37

Danni to be fair apart from my mum, sister who lives abroad, dad unfortunately and great aunt I'm pretty sure all the family are dead now anyway Hmm I'm not sentimental about it. If I think someone's a nasty person in life I don't see the point in rewriting history once they die.

Pink everyone's got an opinion regarding size but today I discovered that everyone also has an opinion about how long you have left too... I must have been asked by at least 6 different people how far along I am today. About half told me that I don't have long left and the other half were shocked I had so long still to go... I am likening it to glass half full and glass half empty types Wink

Also what's wrong with chocolate in ice cream? As long as the ice cream itself isn't chocolate, that's just wrong!
I had a strawberry cheesecake Sunday at the ice cream parlour, Yum! Smile

Shelb I had to buy wine for a present. It was really depressing walking down the wine racks knowing that none of it was for me Sad

Soda I was going to look at baby stuff but the Internet was running slow Blush

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 19:44

Thanks danni! How did you get the code? Was it emailed to you? I'm not actually getting any emails from them. I've signed up to their antenatal course and joined as a member and we're getting the magazine through the post but I haven't got any info with secret codes on for cheap sleepyheads!

Danni89 · 27/05/2016 19:55

I'm on the September babies thread too and somebody mentioned it on there soda

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 20:00

Ah ok thanks danni. Please continue to share secret codes here too, that'll be a massive help. Think I might go ahead and get the sleepyhead this weekend - first proper purchase for baby! Eek Grin

Pinklily1 · 27/05/2016 20:24

NCT magazines Soda?! We don't get magazines...or secret codes...now I feel like i'm missing out Smile

Potato - i don't eat chocolate, which seems to rule out a lot of ice cream unfortunately.

Shelb, i've not really missed alcohol so far, but could sit in the sunshine with a nice cold peroni or something. Or not Hmm

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 20:44

Ha ha pink! I think to be fair we've had 1 magazine. No secret codes though.... Wink

Here's a pic of bump at 24 weeks. I've definitely popped out in last 3 weeks.

Pinklily1 · 27/05/2016 20:48

You look fab Soda. Are your jeans maternity? I'm pondering some white topshop ones but yours look lovely!

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 21:03

Thanks pink. Yep they're a seraphine purchase - over the bump jeans. I'm finding under the bump ones fall down and aren't very comfy now.

BunchOfBobs · 28/05/2016 07:29

Potato I've had bra ton hicks for a few weeks now. Took me ages to figure out that's what it was. Get like Pip was squirming really low and bump goes rock solid. BH apparently.

My Physio almost dropped her jaw in shock when she saw me on Thursday "Oh! You've suddenly got so big". It's only the small comments I can't deal with. I'm loving having s big bump.

Ive had my PIL here since Thursday which is lovely and my DPs are joining us today, which will be great as they all get on amazingly and it will be nice for my pre ta to have a change of scenery to take their mind of things going on.

29 weeks today with a pineapple Grin

PotatosMum · 28/05/2016 08:08

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

27 weeks today with a camping lantern Confused Potato is still in the weird position so lots of squirmy movements and not much kicking. Pregnancy+ is saying I'm in the third trimester, Ovia disagrees but those two are always arguing lol
I've got my 28 week scan a week Tuesday, I've also got my diabetes test and a midwife appointment that week so it feels like shits about to get real! Grin
OH has informed me that Potato isn't allowed to come out until 38 weeks... We'll just have to see how she feels about that!

Pink no chocolate? That sucks! How about hargendas? They have lots of non chocolate flavours (praline and cream yum!)

Soda lovely little bump! Smile

Bunch ah, I shall look out for squirming and rock hard tummy. (It's hard to tell under all the fat Blush)
Have fun with your family Smile

Pinklily1 · 28/05/2016 08:12

A camping lantern Potato?! I like that one Smile

I've been having pralines and cream and also strawberry cheesecake. The no chocolate thing is just by choice so I can't complain too much!

shelbTa · 28/05/2016 08:32

Morning!

Pink - you don't eat chocolate?!

Potato I've had braxtons since quite early on too, my whom abdomen contracts. Now I get this period pain too. I'm secretly hoping it might be the baby might be getting ready to be on time?!

Bunch - I'm now in the bloated face club with you too. I looked in the mirror yesterday and thought 'Christ I look rough', couldn't pin point it, but worked out its cos my face and under my chin are all swollen.
