Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Yes I was thinking that, although at the 20 week scan baby was looking on the small side. Might have caught up a bit though, certainly feels like it has Grin

I am absolutely raging. My neighbour has kidnapped my cat! I think they are feeding him, he went in 3 hours ago (I saw him, little traitor) and she's shut him in there. He's probably asleep on her sofa. Last night she came and rang the doorbell at 10.45 because she wanted to get him out and he hissed at her because he was sleeping. Don't let him in then! I want some kitty cuddles this afternoon Angry

leoniethelioness · 29/05/2016 16:24

New I've bought 5 Next first size sleepsuits off eBay with first size hats and scratch mittens (about £7); 10 0-1 sleepsuits and 10 0-1 bodysuits (all plain white from Tesco - about £20 all in); and then I've got 10 "nice", new sleepsuits and 10 plain white vests in 0-3. I've also picked up some spare cheap bodysuits on eBay in case he's sicky and I don't fancy putting him in something brand new. I've got a cardigan and a jacket (thank you, leftover John Lewis vouchers) in 0-3 and then a long sleeved polo shirt style bodysuit and two pairs of dungarees from eBay as well. Loving eBay for second hand Next clothes and the supermarkets for basics.

I'm not buying anything else other than a pramsuit (hopefully Tesco Clubcard Boost or eBay) and some hats in a bigger size. I'm not buying any real clothes for him - babygrows all the way.

I think I might have bought too much but I feel organised and haven't spent much at all on newborn clothes. I've used eBay and supermarkets where I can.

Mileymoocow · 29/05/2016 19:39

new we have mostly 0-3 but have also stocked up on 3-6 as we have a lot of first size things given as gifts etc.

Feeling pretty horrendous today, world's worst headache (could be migraine, not entirely sure as never had one). Had to sit in the dark all day, felt very sick and dizzy with a pounding head. Poor OH has had to come home from a 12 hour shift, walk the dog and sort his own tea. I really hate feeling helpless.

BunchOfBobs · 29/05/2016 21:14

New see my photo below for how many bodysuits Blush Most of these are gifted by my SIL but the left compartment is short sleeves, the middle is long sleeves and the right is sleepsuits. All size 0-3 months. I'm expecting a beast so I think I'll only pick up a couple of newborn sizes.

Miley could be a migraine. I always had aural ones so started with flashing lights or blind spots. Only cure for me was sleep and giving up caffeine. No caffeine for 3 years now and no migraines since. If it happens again try to find the trigger.

Bunch - what is the difference between the long sleeve ones and the sleepsuits? I don't know why I can't get my head round this!!

Mileymoocow · 29/05/2016 21:48

shelb I think sleepsuits have legs and feet in them. Bodysuits are the ones with poppers under the grain area. I think!

bunch hopefully it won't happen again! I woke up with it so no idea what could have triggered. I'm still in a bit discomfort now, 12 hours later! I haven't had any caffeine at all today, only water and juice

shelbTa · 29/05/2016 21:56

Thanks miley! I hold down a reasonably complicated job but still I can't get my head round this shit!!

IndiX · 30/05/2016 06:36

Morning ladies,
Hope you're all doing well. Just checking in, last day of Portugal today before we leave tomorrow. I can't wait to see my dogs tbh but it has been a lovely holiday..even though I've felt bigger than usual and not been able to drinkSadI go to Barcelona on Thursday so not much of a turn a round for washing my clothes and re-packing my case but looking forward to part 2 of my 'babymoon'.

Shelb you're not the only one who doesn't get all the lingo, i struggle on what sleep suits, baby grows or those sleeping bag things are tooBlush guess I have until October to learn!
Bunch you are so organised! I need to get my act together after my holidays, I'm sure time will fly by once I'm home.

I have my 20 week scan on Wednesday (I'll actually be 21 weeks)...I'm REALLY nervous, firstly because I want Beanie to be healthy and everything to be ok in there but secondly because I'm SO scared my early gender scan was wrong and the sonographer says 'oh you have a boy'...I have fully bonded with the idea of a girl now and don't know how I would be if I found out I had a boy in there. Of course i adore my baby either way but it would be a major head fu*k!!! And then it doesn't help that I keep hearing a couple of 'friends of friends' scans were wrong etc..I just can't wait to get the scan over with tbh!

BunchOfBobs · 30/05/2016 07:14

Shelb as Miley said no legs in the bodysuits.

Indi I feel like I have to be now, 10 weeks 5 days left until due date aaahhh!!!
I've got some stuff on my list left to buy for hospital bag, most will be bought his week, some stuff the first weekend in July (shopping trips planned with DM). Then I'm done apart from choosing from the mind field that is bouncy chairs and a breast feeding pillow.

Yesterday we tested out the baby monitor. There will be no chance of sleeping through the movement alarm if it ever goes off. That thing is loud!!!

Indi the 20 week scan is always a scary one. I properly freaked about it. If for some reason the gender scan was wrong you have 20 weeks to get your head round it. I've had many a dream I give birth to a girl but there really was no confusing his meat and two veg on my scan. I think it's normal to worry about these things.

Feefeefs · 30/05/2016 07:49

Hi all was away for the weekend at a hen do. Had a fab time despite no booze! Trying to catch up now. 12 week scan today!!!

shelbTa · 30/05/2016 07:51

Morning ladies

Indi - the 20 weeks is a biggie but I'm sure all will be ok. I think it's unlikely the private one got it wrong ykno, they do so many of them. And you'd love either just the same once you got your head round it - but yeah it would be a head mash!

Bunch you are so organised and worryingly only two weeks ahead that me, and I've got barely anything in comparison!!

X

shelbTa · 30/05/2016 08:01

Good luck fee, missed your post!

leoniethelioness · 30/05/2016 08:42

Bunch I've been given a Boppy breastfeeding pillow and it seems good. Nice and firm. Good for resting a baby on!

Thank you, Pink, for the pregnancy pillow recommendation. It's helping a lot. I was just using a fairly flat ordinary pillow for support but it was just too hot!

PotatosMum · 30/05/2016 08:49

New has the catnapped kitty returned yet?

Leonie I've done most of my baby shopping at supermarkets too supermarkets and sales I keep looking at eBay but I can't bring myself to buy anything because I keep thinking that I want Potato to only have new stuff because I was brought up in hand me downs and charity shop clothes Confused I don't know what my problem is though as I still like buying cloths from eBay for me!

Miley how's your head?

Bunch that is one organised baby draw... All my stuff is currently living in a plastic box Sad

Shelb vests have no legs, sleep suits have legs with little feet on and often have scratch mitts sewn into the cuffs. I only worked this out by deduction Confused

Indi good luck for your 20 week scan. I think we all freaked out a little before that one. It's natural as this is the point when you realise this is a really, real baby and you are definitely having her. or something like that I'm sure they didn't get the gender scan wrong but if they did you'll adjust quickly. We walked in thinking we were having a boy and out knowing we were having a girl, after about two days we were both really happy about it Grin

Feef good luck with the 12 week scan Grin

DSC go home today woohoo I can walk round the flat naked again Wink I'm off to pick up a variety of maternity jeans from next to see if any of them can be made to fit. I might see if I can talk OH in wandering around ASDA and getting boring baby bits (nappies etc) oh the excitement! Wink

Morning all

Good luck with scan Feef, let us know how you get on.

Indi fingers crossed for a healthy female bean in there when you have your 20 weeker. Also hope you have a fab time in Barcelona. A babymoon wasn't really on my radar until last week. I got so cross when we lost the house that I had a hormonal moment of madness and booked 4 days in Marrakesh at the end of June. Now thinking that might have been slightly bonkers given it's already 37 degrees over there!!

Bunch am so impressed by your organisation! Pip is going to be one well dressed little man!

Miley how are you feeling today?

Despite still not knowing what we're having, I caved and bought the first bits of clothing yday. TK Maxx have some gorgeous stuff with foxes on (am a sucker for a woodland animal), which I figure is nice and unisex. Feels so nice to have made a start!

Laurenrl · 30/05/2016 09:32

Morning ladies! Just read through 3 pages after having my parents here all weekend and not getting any chance.

Hope you've all had a nice long weekend (despite headache from hell miley)

It's really weird I have quite a bit of pelvic pain and I'm tired by about 9pm but I just don't feel pregnant at all still, I guess it's stupid anterior placenta meaning I barely feel anything at 22+4 :(

leoniethelioness · 30/05/2016 09:39

Lauren 22+5 with an anterior placenta too. I don't feel much either. Just little bubbles or twitches in the evening and not even every evening.

Co5mo · 30/05/2016 10:05

Morning all. I hope the cat has come home New. My neighbours used to have a cat who would break in through our locked cat flap and spend time at ours. I often came home to find her sleeping in the sun by our patio doors. We didn't feed her or encourage her in any way but once she'd done it once she seemed to have marked out our place as her home territory.

Indi even without an earlier scan, we seem to have bonded with a boy. We call baby he all the time so I could get a shock tomorrow if we turn out to be team pink.

Baby was given it's first present yesterday. Some size 3-6m Rudolf rattle pram shoes Hmm Pretty random.

leoniethelioness · 30/05/2016 10:25

Co5mo Microchip cat flat. All problems solved. My cats think Christmas has come early - hessian bags by the door for my Tesco delivery to be packed into and a cardboard box which contained our new bathroom cabinet on the floor. We really need to redo the bathroom but we're spending a lot on general decorating and carpets so we're repainting, buying some new fittings and hopefully getting some new lino for now.

leoniethelioness · 30/05/2016 10:26

P.S. Newest pregnancy addiction - Tesco Finest peppermint popcorn. Sounds so wrong but tastes so right.

Sodasoda · 30/05/2016 11:17

Morning everyone,

Good luck in your scans today feef and indi

I've woken up with quite bad back and pelvic pain this morning. Just feel so uncomfortable Sad Am still in bed summoning up energy and courage to move.

Last night baby moved so much that my tummy actually moved so DH could see! Was lovely and odd at the same time Smile

There's 20% off this weekend at the white company online - we got some vouchers as wedding gifts last year so we bought some lovely bits and pieces - baby blanket, cute hooded bath towel, baby sleeping bag etc. First batch of things we've properly bought so that was really nice.

We're not going mad with clothes because we don't know what flavour it is til it arrives so will want to get some nice gender specific stuff and I'm reckoning we'll get presents too Smile

I'm a bit confused by newborn v 0-3 months in size. Is newborn like really small? I'm really not sure whether to get many of this size at all but 0-3 looks quite big! So confusing!

Jamjar12 · 30/05/2016 11:21

My friend had a 10lber Soda, and he didn't fit into any newborn stuff they'd been given as gifts. He went straight into the 0-3 months. I've been told to avoid most newborn and just get a few bits as they don't last long at all unless you have a tiny baby!

Feefeefs · 30/05/2016 12:04

Woo hoo! Was lovely! All looking good so far

PotatosMum · 30/05/2016 13:38

Planet I love TKMAXX I've got a couple of blankets and a sleeping bag from there. Luckily they don't have any really nice clothes at mine at the mo otherwise I would be in trouble! Wink

Lauren that sucks... Although, at least you don't have to put up with squirming while you're trying to eat dinner Confused hopefully you'll start feeling more soon as baby gets bigger.

Soda I've started waking up with back pain every morning now. It sucks Sad
I'm also a little confused whether to bother with newborn. I've kinda gone for the, if the baby's small we can use 0-3 then buy a couple of small bits but if she's big the newborn stuff will be useless, approach.

Yay! Feef that's a lovely scan Grin

So I got just about all the boring essentials today. 72 newborn nappies, SMA hungry baby powder and some ready made disposable bottles for in the hospital (bottle feeding), cotton wool and baby wipes for good measure, nappy bags, gentle baby soap, breast pads and heavy duty sanitary towels. Feeling pretty prepared now. Just need to get a couple more bits and I think I'll be ready Grin

Yay for being organised, Potato!

Lovely scan, Fee!
