PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Morning! I had a busy day yesterday so will catch up in a bit. Just tried to wrestle a 37kg labrador into submission so I could put his eye drops in... not fun!

I had a catch up with my friend who's down from Scotland and she's bought us teeeeny tiny converse for the baby. I can't stop looking at them, they're amazing. Baby shower today, then a 4th birthday party a bit later, then a 1st birthday party tomorrow. Phew!

PotatosMum · 28/05/2016 15:30

Pink I think I'd kill people if it wasn't for chocolate Confused

Shelb I've got a bloated face and neck too now Sad I really am hating my body right now. I can't move around easily, I feel really heavy all the time and I'm constantly out of breath.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. We went out for a picnic at a local country house which was nice. I'm exhausted now though.
Still no sign of Potato moving back to her normal position and I'm really not sure whether to be concerned or not. I still feel her wriggling but it's not the same movement as it was before. If I hadn't felt her drastically change position I probably would be worried.
Pregnancy is just one thing to obsess about after another Confused

Nevlet · 28/05/2016 15:33

Potato mine stayed that way for a couple of days... He is definitely back transverse now as getting kicks/punches on both sides again. I am sure its just a different feeling of movement when they change positions.

PotatosMum · 28/05/2016 16:58

I'm sure you're right Nev Potato did this for two days a little while ago. I guess it's just more noticeable now she's a little bit bigger.

Got the draft contract for the new house today (yay!) so we need to get our mortgage offer then we'll be 90% of the way to exchange. Just need to get the flat ready to exchange and got a completion date for our other property and all our Ducks will be in a row... When I put it like that it sounds like a right faff Confused
Sooooo can't wait to move Grin

Congrats potato, nearly there.

Any 26 week plussers feeling overwhelmingly exhausted? I haven't felt super super tired all pregnancy but these past few days I'm shattered. I'm on the sofa, can barely get up and about.

X

PotatosMum · 28/05/2016 17:26

Shelb YES! Just the most basic of activities exhaust me and after work I pretty much camp on the sofa until OH feeds me, then I'm off to bed.
Walking is also just a nightmare now as my legs feel like I'm carrying a bag of rocks or something Confused

Roll on 13 weeks time! I don't care about labour pain just so long as I can have my body back Wink remind me I said that when I'm complaining about sleep deprivation

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 28/05/2016 17:28

Congrats potato, that's one step closer!

My 20 week scan note say baby was breach, but I'm pretty sure she's transverse now as it get kicked and prodded at both sides of my tummy. I saw something online that said by 29 weeks baby is expected to either be head down or breach so we'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

Shelb, I'm not exhausted but I've noticed a definite increase in tiredness over the last week or so. I put it down to being busy at work but it could just be baby.

I've spent the day painting the living room with OH and now am having a nice soak in the bath Smile

Newmrs22 · 28/05/2016 18:59

My baby was (stubbornly) transverse at 20 week scan and I'm pretty sure it still is. I think they don't actually check until 36 (?) weeks because they turn so much that there's no point worrying you until near the end when it has some baring on birth. If the midwife doesn't think its head down by then you get a scan to check.

Shelb I'm exhausted. Had a 2 hour nap this afternoon!

Pink a bath sounds like a fabulous idea! Might do that later

shelbTa · 28/05/2016 20:21

Thanks ladies. Eaten an entire box of chocolates today!

X

BunchOfBobs · 29/05/2016 06:53

Morning all.

Yay Potato so pleased things are moving,
Come on mortgage!!

At my 25 week appointment Pip was head down but he's all over the place all the time. We'll see at my next appointment.

Had a bbq last night with both sets of parents. I'm sneakily awaiting everyone's hangovers. I'm so pleased I wasn't drinking. The men went through soooooo much beer and the mothers drank 4 bottles of Prosecco!!!!! 4! We also ate a LOT of food so that would explain everyone being able to walk to bed last night.

shelbTa · 29/05/2016 07:02

Morning ladies

I too am lying here waiting for oh to wake up having rolled in last night absolutely smashed.

I'm starving, what can I have for breakfast...

X

PotatosMum · 29/05/2016 07:42

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

pink I was looking up how to tell baby positions last night. I think until a couple of days ago Potato was transverse but now I think she's breech. I'm a little worried about her turning round as if she doesn't get head down soon she might not be able to because of my fibroid Sad

Bunch sounds like you had a lovely BBQ/party last night. Are you going to be kind to the hungover today, or do the hoovering lol

Shelb I had warm waffles and fruit salad for breakfast yesterday (yum)... This morning it will probably be cereal though as I had to share the remaining waffles with DSC and OH Hmm

Anyone else struggling with the heat? I'm usually cold all the time but yesterday I was a mess all day! In the evening I couldn't even eat dinner because I kept over heating and feeling sick Sad

OH is off to sort out some of his stuff at his old house today, mean while I have to put a roast on and do some household chores. I also need to go see my mum as I didn't visit her last week. I find visiting quite hard these days as she just sits there, replying yes or no to questions and falling asleep if I don't talk. I can only manage to stay for a few minutes as I'm not good at small talk and I get the impression that I'm just interrupting her nap Confused

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 29/05/2016 09:09

Morning ladies

Bunch, I think you should definitely do some hoovering today (pregnancy pain aside), it would be very sympathetic of you towards the hungover relations! Grin

potato, waffles?! Sounds amazing. Now I NEED waffles. With maple syrup. Shreddies just aren't cutting it this morning.

For baby position, hopefully she will turn for you asap Potato and then stay put. If our baby is breech I don't think I want the ECV turning procedure thing (not sure exactly what it's called), but hopefully it won't come to that.

TMI time but OH and I successfully managed To DTD despite my ever expanding belly - woo hoo! Things definitely feel 'tighter' in the lady bits area Blush

I've Been awake since 5.30am, I think some sort of pregnancy insomnia is kicking in. Not impress by that at all.

BunchOfBobs · 29/05/2016 09:41

I'm gutted, not a sign of a hangover! How?!

Potato sorry to hear that but you'll feel better knowing you've at least visited.

Bacon sarnies have been consumed, I had my sandwich almost completely made and then no longer wanted it. Opted for my usual mango and yoghurt and a bowl of weetabix. Even my usual decaf coffee is tasting foul this morning. No idea what's up with my taste buds.

Potato re: Heat, I have a huge parasol over my garden furniture so I can enjoy the warm weather without frying.DH is watching the F1 today so I will continue my embroidery in the garden.

PotatosMum · 29/05/2016 10:41

Pink did you get some waffles?

Bunch sewing in the garden sounds lovely. Wish that's what I was doing? At the moment I need to stay in a darkened room with all the windows open to prevent myself from feeling sick from the heat.

OH has abandoned me to go and sort out some boxes at his old house (he's not terribly impressed about it) he was going to take DSS but he was being a slug this morning (wrapped up in blanket not dressed and showing no signs of life apart from the occasional grunt Hmm) as a result I've got both DSCs who have bickered non stop since he left... Do you think it would be considered child abuse if I used bungee cords to tied them to their respective camp beds and then stick a socks in their moths? Surely it would be a public service? Wink

Most boring subject ever but has anyone tried the burrito method of changing a duvet cover? I just tried it, I'm still not sure how it works, I swear it must be a dark art!

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 29/05/2016 11:20

Unfortunately not Potato. I had shreddies then went spinning instead Hmm Off to the supermarket in a bit so might get myself a treat of some sort. Speaking of which, I bought breast pads yesterday, my first bit of lady stuff for post birth. They have them in Asda - 40 for £1.50 which seems pretty good!

I've not heard of that method of duvet changing. Was it meant to say the burrito method or was that a typo?!

PotatosMum · 29/05/2016 11:28

Shreddies are no substitute for waffles. You poor thing Sad

Burrito was correct. YouTube it. My brain doesn't understand it but it works like magic Grin

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 29/05/2016 11:43

I'm intrigued now - off to have a look at the burrito method!

Nevlet · 29/05/2016 12:24

Morning!

Strange non baby related question. I need your recommendations for a sandwhich toaster. Ours is rubbish. Worse than rubbish. We bought it over two years ago when we bought our house - think tescos basics for a fiver. I have been toasting lunch for approx 20 mins and we are still not there. Suggestions?!

Mileymoocow · 29/05/2016 14:09

potato never tried the burrito method. I always just turn it inside out and put it on that way.

So after a busy day yesterday, I went to sleep at about 10pm, woke up at 9am and went back to bed at 12. I've just woken back up and I feel so rotten! Anything you ladies suggest for the headache of the century?

nev we have a cheap one from asda (maybe beko??) and it's brill! I do love a toastie Grin

leoniethelioness · 29/05/2016 14:12

I've not got a sandwich maker (DH is gluten free/coeliac) so we would need two... We make do with one toaster and have our own sides but we bought a stupid one which means you have to press one side down first before you can use the other side. Bit of a pain if I'm the only one who wants toast. Could you get a George Foreman grill to do the job? I had one in uni and it was great.

DH is painting the bathroom this afternoon and I'm spring cleaning! I think we need to tackle the jungle garden tomorrow...

leoniethelioness · 29/05/2016 14:13

Miley Water in case it's dehydration?

Newmrs22 · 29/05/2016 14:27

miley have you tried eating something? I second the water as well.

nev we don't have one, but now I really crave a toastie!

Can I ask how many sleep suits/vests you are buying? And in what size? In each shop the sizing seems to be slightly different! I've got one first size, several newborn and 3 0-3 months.

PotatosMum · 29/05/2016 14:34

Nev I bought a tesco basic sandwich toaster for camping last year. We threw it out after one use it was so useless. You can't go wrong with a brevil.

Miley that's how I used to do duvets but I just couldn't handle it today. The burrito method just has me in aww.

No idea about headaches other than good old paracetamol.

Just had a massive roast and now feel a food coma coming on but I need to go to mums and I need to drive as OH is having a lazy day. He made me cook and everything, so unreasonable! Wink

We've had a chat about what we're going to do if we can't get a mortgage. We're going to hope we get this one, try one more company if we don't and if that fails we're going to have to give up on our lovely little house and rent for a couple of years. It's the only practical thing that we can do thanks to fuck wit ex but it will be heart breaking if it comes to that. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. If that happens it will also mean letting our seller down and as they are moving abroad it will really mess their plans up too.
Need lots of positive vibes!!!!!

New I've bought all of mine in 0-3 months. I've got 14 vests and 10 sleep suits at the moment. If when Potato arrives she's teeny (unlikely) we can always go out and get some smaller stuff without too much trouble but I didn't want to buy newborn size only to have it be too small/grown out of in days. My family have a tendency for "robust" babies Shock
