Hello!
I have my second DS due on August 21st!
I was actually after some impartial advice, if possible?
I had my Midwife App today, blood pressure was great (a bit on the low side as always haha) water sample was normal, heart beat found super easy and baby moving :)
However, I do have a touch of Thrush Blush she asked about discharge etc, and that's the conclusion we came to. She then asked if I'd had any bleeding.
Now, ONLY when I've wiped, I've seen a bit of blood on the tissue about 4 times over the past 2 days. I genuinely didn't think anything of it, it didn't worry me in the slightest as I just presumed it was where I'd perhaps itched and cut myself a little.
Midwife wasn't happy with this, and wants me to go to the hospital to be monitored.
I spoke to my doctor an hour afterwards (pain killer prescription for PGP) who seems to think my Midwife is over reacting as the blood is most likely due to the Thrush and the fact I've perhaps scratched it. I've also had no pain or cramping.

What would you ladies do? I'm crippled with PGP pain and have a 2 year old to look after, the hospital is 30 minutes away, and I just don't want to waste their time as I really don't think there's anything to worry about! But my Midwife rang them and they're expecting me to come in for observation. Blush

Christinedonna · 10/05/2016 13:27

I had slight bleeding only when I wiped with thrush. It went away with it. I'd say you know yourself and to follow your gut feeling. My last midwife appointment there's was blood in my urine which could be caused from sex or an infection that could bring on early labour and the midwife made such a big deal out of it (I understand that's her job) and sent me to do urine samples to be sent off. I didn't bother because I knew it was from sex the night before as I was still sore from it! The next day I was fine

Hi newcomer here 😊.
Hope you're all well and enjoying this pregnancy rollercoaster!
I'm due 2nd August and entered the third trimester today 😳 Eek!
I had a mw appointment today where I got measured for the first time- I measured about 25 cm which is 1.5 cm smaller than I should be according to the personalised chart. Midwife didn't seem worried or even mention it- I mentioned it noticing where it was plotted. No referral for growth scan mentioned just have to wait till 31 week appointment (which feels an age away) to see how it's progressed..
Googling has made me slightly worried as most mention getting a growth scan straight away... Should I ask for a scan??

Christinedonna · 10/05/2016 14:16

Welcome cocker!
I'm sure if there was any cause for concern you would have been sent for a scan. They know what they're doing. You'll always find horror stories on Google. I'd just relax and consider yourself lucky you haven't got a massive baby on your hands!

Suziesome1 · 10/05/2016 15:11

I think the guidelines for growth scans is 3cm. So they'll just keep an eye. Try not to worry and stay away from Dr google!! Welcome btw Smile

PickleBot · 10/05/2016 15:36

Hello Erica and cocker in both cases I think I would phone the hospital and see what they say. X

Suziesome1 · 10/05/2016 16:01

On my maternity notes it says that if the growth is 3cm above/below then your midwife will refer for a growth scan. (See Photo), I honestly don't think you've anything to worry about.... And your midwife would have spoke to you about it if there were any concerns...

pickle sorry you are having a mehh moment, take a minute for yourself today if you can and have a sit down, a nap or do some gentle breathing techniques and try to focus on 3 positives. It's amazing how a simple shift in thinking can alter your mood and put you back on track. We all have those yuck days and this weather certainly isn't helping today, but be kind to yourself and take a bit of a 'time out'. And if in doubt... Brew AND Cake !

Welcome erica and cocker !

Erica I would err on the side of caution on that one and get yourself to the hospital for a check over. Better to be safe and reassured but it is likely as you and christine mention to be a little scratch or something, but a check up wouldn't do harm, just incase.

cocker I agree with Christine and they would have flagged this if it had been a concern, remember the guidelines are exactly that, and each babe is different. If you feel anxious call your midwife for a chat.

CockerASpanielsZ · 10/05/2016 16:15

Thank you for all the advice.
Ah thanks suzie, my notes don't give any guidance like that.
I Think I shall wait for the next appointment (and eat extra cake just to be sure he's getting enough growth calories!) as you all say.

Hi ladies!!

Just found this thread and thought I'd join.
I'm due August 19th with a little girl!! I can't waitGrin

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 10/05/2016 17:38

Welcome! erica I have to agree with bear and think I would go and get checked.

cocker I agree with the others and not to worry at this stage - stay away from Google. Also do you have cocker spaniels?! I hope so, because I will happily chat about how amazing they are!

pickle sorry to hear you are having a rubbish day. Can you get a nice bubble bath? Or choose a good movie and put your feet up for a bit. Weather is still lovely in Aberdeen for once so I'm relaxing in the garden with the pooches. Both are sunbathing next to me! Bliss.

bearhuggy · 10/05/2016 17:58

Welcome lou and congrats on your little girl, exciting times !!

My friend just sent me this ShockShockShock

CockerASpanielsZ · 10/05/2016 20:11

Alfie yes I do indeed, a little black pocket rocket! I'm with you there, they're brilliant aren't they, so loving and loyal.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 11/05/2016 08:24

cocker I've a wee golden boy. He's a lunatic but as you absolutely loving and loyal. Never leaves my side when you are in the house, like having a wee shadow. I've a golden retriever too - going to be high jinks adding a baby to the household too!

Fizzyboo · 11/05/2016 10:26

Morning ladies, sorry I've not been on for a while... Bogged down with work boooo! I've so already mentally given up on work at the mo. Yesterday instead of working, I was mostly rolling around on the floor on a foam roller (God whoever was talking about those, thanks! My back and naughty rib feel so much better!) and rubbing peppermint foot lotion into my feet!
DH bought me one of those bubbly foot spa's as I was moaning my feet looked puffy and was it pre eclampsia or just hot feet, but when we opened it up in excitement, it said not to use whilst pregnant! DH googled it (I'm still under the google ban) and yep, can't use it due to pressure points on the feet! Waaaahhh!!
He did soak a towel in cold water and swaddle my feet instead, which frankly, was near orgasmic!
Got my GTT tomorrow blergh, had nightmares about it last night!

Welcome to the new folk too!! Grin

bearhuggy · 11/05/2016 11:21

cute dog cocker, looks very cheeky !!

hi fizzy , work schmerkkk is what I say! I have lost all momentum which is slightly worrying given I have quite a few projects on, just trying to find the balance. Shame about the foot spa, at least you will have it ready to go once baby is here, bet it will be heaven! Hope GTT goes well for you tomorrow.

Finally getting round to posting a pic of my bump, taken before yoga this morning and looking mighty neon !!

hgleslie89 · 11/05/2016 13:27

Hello newbies!

28+4 here. Been feeling pretty good so far, but today my ribs are killing and whatever muscles are under my bump are really sore. Serves me right for feeling smug Angry

I've also mentally checked out of work and am counting the days to maternity leave - 29 working days left, as of 5pm

Anyone else started antenatal classes yet? We're on our second week of NCT ones and they seem pretty good so far.

Christinedonna · 11/05/2016 14:02

Work is now a big weight just holding me down!! I finish on the 5th June and only work 4 days a week so only 15 days left after today! Pelvis is hurting as well as my back now! Also is anyone nearing the end of being able to shave their bits? Mine seem so far away and there's too much between us!

Christinedonna · 11/05/2016 14:17

I've also been getting period like cramps. Anyone else having these? Or know why?

Christinedonna · 11/05/2016 14:36

Sorry, symptom over load but my hip is achey and feel like I have pins and needles down my leg and especially in my foot and toes. Googled it, is it sciatica?

Jw35 · 11/05/2016 14:50

Hi ladies, long time no speak!
Been off mumsnet since my sister passed away, been dealing with a lot and also didn't want to bring the thread down while I was grieving so much. Anyway feeling much better and looking forward to meeting baby!

There's no chance I can catch up with all the posts so I'll just start from here Grin

I'm 28+4 and my c section has been booked for July 25th! Smile less than 11 weeks to go! I'm having a girl and I'm all ready for her now, got everything except the sling, nappies and formula. All her clothes are in her drawers! Getting heavy and tired, lots of heartburn and leg cramps..otherwise not too bad!

Christinedonna · 11/05/2016 14:54

So glad you're back jw! And that you're feeling a lot more up beat! That feels very soon..you must be excited, and shitting yourself.

Dileas29 · 11/05/2016 15:33

Goegeous bump bear yoga sounds amazing Smile

Welcome back jw! Been thinking of you. The countdown is on, you sound very organised and lovely news that you are having a girl!

Dileas29 · 11/05/2016 15:36
