Baby sunshine! Brighton's EPU has a shiny new scanner.

Morning sickness and first scan anticipation - it's the December 2016 babies.
barkingtreefrog · 25/04/2016 13:16

Xpost sunshine great news!!

I am definitely more thirsty than usual, was forced to stop at the pub half way through a dog walk yesterday as I hadn't had enough to drink before leaving the house Wink.

ChoChang · 25/04/2016 13:17

Bertie I'm so sorry Flowers

Looks like I'm in the same position as you. Had my early scan this morning and all they can see is the pregnancy sac. Got to go back in a week for a follow up scan 'to confirm either way but I'm 7+3 after ivf so no confusion over dates, so I said to her 'you should be able to see by now shouldn't you' and she said yes. I dont think she was allowed to say that its all over until the repeat scan but it's basically what she was saying in a round about way. I'm completely devastated so wont be around much til after next week's scan , I'll pop back and confirm.

Wishing you all the best of luck xx

ChoChang · 25/04/2016 13:18

Cross posted with you southdown. Congratulations that's wonderful x

barkingtreefrog · 25/04/2016 13:22

Chang I'm so sorry, I had exactly the same in my first mc, the scan showed a sac at 7+3 but nothing in it, and I had to wait for a repeat scan. It's utterly shit, I'm so sorry this has happened, especially as you had to put yourself through all the ivf shit to get this far, it seems like an extra kick in the teeth.
Be kind to yourself Flowers. Are you going to take some time off work or is keeping busy a better option for you?

I'm guessing bertie hasn't followed us to this thread, but if you're lurking I'm thinking of you too Flowers.

KitKat1985 · 25/04/2016 13:28

Oh Cho I'm so sorry. And like Barking said having to have gone all through the IVF crap first just makes it so much worse too. Sending you enormous hugs. Flowers

SouthDownsSunshine congrats that's a lovely picture. I know Brighton well having grown up very near there, but I now live a bit more eastwards (just north of Eastbourne). xx

Oh cho, I'm so sorry Flowers

kitkat I'm going to Brighton hospital after the horrors of conquest last time! We probably live very close, I'm Ebn.

peanutbutter2409 · 25/04/2016 13:33

Afternoon ladies!
I've been lurking for a few weeks now as I was having issues registering. Anyway, I found out I was pregnant on Good Friday, so I'm now 8+2 and due 3rd December. I'll need a C section though as I won't be able to give birth naturally due to medical reasons - so expect I'll be a few days earlier?

We had a miscarriage in Jan/Feb, then waited a month and then fell in March.
I'm 35, living in Sussex and this will be mine and my husband's first baby.

Regarding symptoms, I had cramping/stretching a lot up until about 6 weeks and was unbelievably tired then too - now it's all about morning sickness....well very bad nausea, I haven't been sick (yet) and aches.

We had an early scan on Saturday and saw the heartbeat which was just amazing, the baby is cooking nicely and was 16mm.

Look forward to speaking with you all lots over the coming months!
x

KitKat1985 · 25/04/2016 13:34

Ahh I'm in Hailsham. I went to Conquest last time and didn't have the best experience either. Hoping to go to Eastbourne midwifery unit this time but a bit worries in case there's any complications.

KitKat1985 · 25/04/2016 13:35

Oh and welcome PeanutButter. Nice to see another Sussex person joining us!

OP posts:
swancourt · 25/04/2016 13:35

Not feeling sick yet. Only 4+2 so I've got another couple of weeks before it really kicks in, I expect.

SpaceDinosaur · 25/04/2016 13:38

Ooh we're the same Swan!

Feefeefs · 25/04/2016 13:41

Lovely pic southdownsunshine! Was your scan TV?

Sorry to hear about your scan chochang keeping my fingers crossed for next week

SouthDownsSunshine · 25/04/2016 13:44

I started at Eastbourne last time, and went back for post natal care, and it was amazing.

weechops · 25/04/2016 13:44

Welcome to all who've just joined us. Just place marking for now, crazy busy day! Catch up later Smile

KitKat1985 · 25/04/2016 13:49

Yeah pretty much everyone I know who went to Eastbourne had a good experience, so I'm hoping it'll be a better experience that with DD (to be fair, if they just realise I'm in late labour and not just having 'early stage twinges' this time around will be a massive improvement)!

OP posts:
ChoChang · 25/04/2016 13:52

Thanks guys, it is utterly utterly shit. I took some leave while going through the ivf as I really didn't know what to expect and wanted to go into it as stress free as possible, so don't really feel like I can take any more now. I've taken the rest of the day off and I guess I'll talk to my boss tomorrow. Keeping busy might not be such a bad thing.

firawla · 25/04/2016 14:01

So sorry chochang, hoping that the next scan is better, it must be so worrying Flowers

No sickness or nausea here at all yet at 6+3, hoping for some really for reassurance although I'll probably take that back if/when I do get sick!

For all of the Watford people - does anyone know if they do 12 week scans these days? Nothing mentioned on booking in letter (it mentions anomaly scan about 20 weeks), after googling I found that in the past they didn't do 12 week scans there but not sure if they started to offer it or not?!

underrugsswept · 25/04/2016 14:17

Really sorry to hear that Cho and hoping your next scan shows an improvement. Look after yourself x

Lovely to see baby Sunshine

SouthDownsSunshine · 25/04/2016 14:18

Take time off cho, it'll do you good to rest x

rider1975 · 25/04/2016 14:24

Good to hear southdowns - glad that your scan went well.
Also - only nausea here - no vomiting yet. Massive food aversions now tho.

rider1975 · 25/04/2016 14:28

Just read the full thread - sorry to hear about your scan Cho. I feel for you Flowers

TinySalmon · 25/04/2016 15:02

So sorry Cho Flowers Flowers Flowers

Hannahcarp27 · 25/04/2016 16:01

No sickness at all yet. Going away on holiday for 3 weeks this Thursday so hope in that stays the same.

Anyone from Surrey here?

Flashinthepan · 25/04/2016 16:06

Afternoon all. Can I join? I'm Flash, 27, 7+1 with baby number one, so due 12th Dec. Got a private scan on Friday as I had some spotting a couple of weeks ago (Doc guessed implantation), and as I keep getting a raft of exciting pregnancy symptoms I didn't want to get checked out at the EPU so thought I'd get an early scan just for reassurance.

Hannah I'm sortof Surrey/Greater London.
