Oh no I have the start of a migraine Sad. I get them quite a lot, but pregnancy seems to massively reduce them, especially after the first trimester, which is amazing! Hoping this is my last one for a while. Hate taking codeine or anything really.

JojoChuHi · 26/04/2016 11:29

I'm the same mangetooot but think it's worth me waiting a bit for the scan, 8 weeks sounds like a good plan. I'm waiting for symptoms (apart from nausea which I could do without!)

Have FILs 70th bday party wknd on Friday, going to be a challenge to explain the not drinking to a roomful of observant aunties... Would have been nice to be able to tell them but a bit early I fear...

How long are you guys going to wait til you tell very close family/friends? Before 12 weeks?

rider1975 · 26/04/2016 12:14

My scan didn't work out - they said I'm likely to miscarry in next few days. The little embryo is not big at all and hb very weak and fluttering. I have another scan next Thursday. Sad

underrugsswept · 26/04/2016 12:19

Sorry to hear that Rider. Really hoping things are better for you next week. Thanks

peanutbutter2409 · 26/04/2016 12:23

Oh rider, I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope your next scan is better Flowers

weechops · 26/04/2016 12:32

So sorry to hear that rider Flowers

Thisisbonkers · 26/04/2016 12:34

So sorry rider

Feefeefs · 26/04/2016 12:39

Hope things improve for next week rider

ChoChang · 26/04/2016 13:00

Thanks for all the good wishes you ladies are so supportive.

Rider I am so so sorry. Its such a horrible experience to go through bad news at a scan and not something I'd wish on anyone. Take care of yourself lovely. [Flowers]

I tried to go to work today, lasted an hour then came home sick, couldn't hold it together. Gonna take today and tomorrow and try again later in the week.

swancourt · 26/04/2016 13:01

Oh rider I am so so sorry :(

barkingtreefrog · 26/04/2016 13:10

rider I'm so sorry, there's nothing so heartbreaking as being in that scan room and not getting the good news you desperately want Thanks. I hope you've got some good support around you.

cho for my first two miscarriages I kept trying to go back to work and kept having to go home as I was falling apart. For the third I just called and said I wouldn't be in for a week, and then they set me up to work from home for the second week so I could work but not have to face anyone in the office (including two heavily pregnant colleagues that I couldn't handle being around). Please take as much time as you need, you are more important than your job xx.

rider1975 · 26/04/2016 13:14

Thank you girls - very little hope I'm told

TinySalmon · 26/04/2016 13:20

Thinking of you today Rider ThanksThanks

TinySalmon · 26/04/2016 13:20

Thinking of you today Rider ThanksThanks

SolomanDaisy · 26/04/2016 13:21

rider and cho, I'm so sorry to hear about your scans. I do think you need to take some time off sick after a loss. All I could do for a few days was watch extremely bland television (much Vicar of Dibley) and play scrabble. That bit waiting for the confirmation scan is awful. Take care of yourselves.

JojoChuHi · 26/04/2016 13:35

Sorry rider Flowers and cho Flowers. You sound as though you're both being so strong. Will be thinking of you both.

swancourt · 26/04/2016 13:35

I definitely agree with taking time off.

I don't want to go into gory details, but even though my miscarriage was relatively easy and not painful, and even though I felt quite pragmatic about it after a couple of very low days, it wasn't predictable. I felt really, really shattered. It took a lot longer than I thought (4 weeks), and sometimes I would randomly burst out crying even when I thought I felt fine - I think it was hormones crashing down. I know everybody is different, but you are going through something physical as well as emotional and even if you feel a fraud, just take the time and take care of yourselves if you can x

ChoChang · 26/04/2016 13:48

Thank you. I am going to either see if I can work from home later in the week or go in and do a couple of short days. I'll then have the confirmation scan Monday. I've already told my boss this morning that I'm likely to miscarry and will be taking sick leave then (presuming it happens naturally)

rider are you going to take time off? Hope you're able to x

Hi all, joining from the old thread but haven't been around for a while. Thanks for the new thread!

Re- intro is due I guess- this is DC2 for us, have a DD aged 17 months. I'm 30, live in Lancashire currently and due 5th Dec.

Helbelle- We don't live in Lincs anymore but I had DD at Lincoln maternity hospital in Nov 14, we then moved in Jan 15. Where are you booked in to have your baby?

Just had booking in appointment, the notes and process has changed a bit in the 2 years since I had DD. Told I need to see a consultant about the birth because I lost a lot of blood last time and had to have a couple of transfusions, so hopefully that will mean I can ask questions about the likelihood of it happening again. I saw the GP on Friday for anti sickness meds as I am struggling to lift my head off the pillow in the morning with the constant nausea and frequent vomiting, much worse than I had with DD. It doesn't seem to be doing much yet but hopefully it kicks in soon,

How is everyone else getting on?

Sorry for the multiple posts, phone went a bit wild!

Nuttypops · 26/04/2016 13:59

Cho and Rider, I am so sorry about the uncertainty and worry. Thinking of you both, take it easy if you can.

rider1975 · 26/04/2016 14:00

This will be my second miscarriage. I was in pieces the first few days but it was really how it affected my behaviour for the following months. I was so jealous of families with babies and couldn't bear to be around them - it sent me into an emotional spin. My bf's relationship with his fantastic little girl who was just under 2 also made me massively emotional. I don't know what to expect this time - just feeling numb with the news. I said to myself I'd go for counselling this time so I'd be less lonely in my loss. We see - it's not the end of the road yet.
Thank you to everyone for their support. It's such a great understanding in this group Flowers

DartmoorDoughnut · 26/04/2016 14:28
