The smell of my conditioner nearly made me vomit. Blech. I didn't like the smell much anyway, but now it's impossible to use.

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 15:15

Thank you bigfam, maybe it was said so I didn't feel bad if I had lost it (I was waiting for a pregnancy test at that moment in the a and e so was very nervous and strung up) ... I wouldn't care how close the babies are I just want it to be ok. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply today it seems to be more discharge / tailing off (sorry for tmi) I feel more reassured talking to people on here. It's a very scary time for me, my pregnancy with ds was nothing like this so I'm very nervous

EmeraldEars · 12/05/2016 15:16

majorly I sympathise with you. The pregnancy "support" unit here directed me straight to the EPU's phone number who weren't very supportive either.

I had an early scan at 6 weeks with a suspected ectopic pregnancy due to pain and I booked in for a private scan at 8 weeks because I was concerned having miscarried before. Because I've had two it has come across (may just be being sensitive) that they seem to think I may be being either untruthful, over exaggerating or paranoid. In truth, I've not been feeling great and had a lot of pain that I never experienced with DD so I am obviously worried. The bleeding on top of that hasn't eased my worry obviously.

NotAClue82 · 12/05/2016 15:20

majorly - What a totally insensitive thing for your Doctor to say! I hope you are feeling a bit better now. Best wishes!

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 15:22

earsi second that about EPU... I rang as I had researched and panicked and I said to lady on the phone

'I think what is happening to me could be an ectopic pregnancy'
(From what I understand now heavy bleeding and pain would usually mean this had happened)

And she replied to me with

'Oh, dear, I think you would KNOW if you had one of those'

I hung up the phone on that patronising cunt.

I'm not a doctor, I'm going by what your fucking nhs website says... Sorry for being proactive in trying to make sure my baby is ok.

Why do we bother eh.

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 15:23

Thank you so much not I really appreciate the kind words Flowers

EmeraldEars · 12/05/2016 15:38

I've been trying to rationalise it that they have these phonecall's everyday and that most turn out to be nothing. However, in truth I do think that whether I was their first or their 100th phonecall that day the woman I spoke to had entirely lost sight of the fact that she was speaking to a woman who's vulnerable and having a shitty time of it and who really needed a bit of support and instead was just dismissed.

Hope all is ok with you Flowers When are you due for your scan?

NotAClue82 · 12/05/2016 15:40

Majorly it sounds like you've had some serious bad luck with super unhelpful health professionals! (I find most HCP on maternity services really great). I cannot believe l she said such an ignorant thing about your suspected ectopic!! I think you should ring them again, hopefully you'll get to speak to a sensible person this time! Ps kudos for dropping the c-bomb, it made me chuckle Grin

Eskerina81 · 12/05/2016 15:43

Sorry to hear your having problems with unsympathetic doctors majorlyscared. Is there anyone else you can ask, e.g. your nearest EPU maybe?

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 15:47

Thank you so much everybody I feel better already!

There was no other word to describe such an incompetent swine Wink

That was the EPU I rang that time! Unfortunately.

Please don't judge me... But I haven't even booked any appointments yet. Right now I physically can't bring myself to do it... I'm so scared of having a scan and finding out the worst I'm really in a 'wait and see' kind of mood. I think that's also known as denial..?

Bigfam · 12/05/2016 16:07

Hope you're OK as well emerald Flowers I know they become used to the calls and worries they receive but I think once they start to lose their compassion they need to take a serious look at themselves!
Majorlyscared1993, there's less than a year between my first and second & they're both born in december, and I didn't book in with a MW until I was 17 weeks because I was in denial.

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 16:11

Thank you bigfam. I'm so scared they are going to tell me something awful. I don't know what I'm waiting for though... A kick? Start showing? Who knows.

barkingtreefrog · 12/05/2016 16:29

I can sympathise with all those who have encountered less than empathetic medical 'professionals'. The nurse I spoke to at EPU during my last pregnancy, when I called to say I was bleeding, said they were really busy and couldn't fit me in for a scan, but I'd had two miscarriages before hadn't I, so I knew what to expect and could probably manage fine at home. She basically told me to call back only if the pain got unmanageable.
I could list many examples, but that one was particularly hideous as I was so upset at the time and she just made it so much worse.

major I'm still in denial and I've had 4 scans so far and seen the heartbeat in the last 3. I've got 4 more scans in the next 4 weeks and I find each one absolutely terrifying, to the point of physically shaking, feeling sick, dizzy and in tears before each one. I'd still prefer the scan than not having the scan though, as the fear of something having gone wrong and I don't know is even worse. At some point I might start believing this could actually happen, but after 4.5 years of ttc, fertility treatment and 3 mcs it's a bit hard to get your head round! Shock
I'm going to be the one in the hospital with a baby next to me ordering the entire contents of a nursery on my phone for Amazon next day delivery! Wink

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 16:33

Wow barking you're so brave. I'm such a scaredy cat! I'm not sure I could face being told that there's no baby at the moment... I'm not really sure when I will be ready- if ever- but there we go. I don't know what to do. So conflicted.

Helgathehairy · 12/05/2016 17:27

Can I please hit DH with something pointy? He's been great all week if I haven't felt up to cooking dinner but today I felt OK(ish) so he came in and asked what was for dinner and I said roast veggies, salmon &a couscous and he said 'mine would have been nicer'!! Meaning the dinner he would have made if is needed him to would have been nicer! So can I hit him with something pointy?!
(And now I've burnt the bloody veg!)

barkingtreefrog · 12/05/2016 17:38

Helga Yes! That's so out of order! I think I'd have put his dinner down in front of the dog, who would have inhaled it gratefully in seconds Grin.

We're running out of thread again I'm on my laptop for once rather than my phone so I'll copy and paste the last list into a new thread and then post a link, give me a sec...

barkingtreefrog · 12/05/2016 17:47

New thread here

I copied the last list and added ChocolateRaisin and Firsttimer. Apologies if I missed any other updates, I don't know how kitkat manages to keep on top of it!

Okay, back to my tesco grocery delivery order....

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 17:47

Poke him.... Hard..!!!!!

Angry Bird
Helgathehairy · 12/05/2016 18:23

barking that's an idea. I have a golden retriever, he'd eat anything.

becciandbump · 12/05/2016 18:55

Have succumbed to buying profiteroles for pudding tonight so hungry x

MrsG321 · 12/05/2016 20:13

Hiii so I'm about 7 weeks preg, had an early scan week before last they said I was 4-6 weeks and detected a heartbeat...anyway I know I'm normally thin and this is my second baby but can I look like this at 7 weeks? I've been eating more as that's the only thing that stops me feeling nauseous.

Morning sickness and first scan anticipation - it's the December 2016 babies.
Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 20:16

kittyscot81 · 12/05/2016 21:02

For those speculating about finding out the gender, my mother informed me yesterday that there has been research published which found that mothers who knew the gender found it easier to bond. This will be my first so no idea but would be good to the views from experienced Mums, what do you think? I have a strong idea for a boys name but not for a girl, so I'm convinced I'm having a boy! I guess premonition isn't exactly scientific though, so may be wrong!!

kittyscot81 · 12/05/2016 21:09

MrsG321 I've just been contemplating my tummy. I'm 9+5 and already massive. You look great, don't worry! I'm pretty sure I'll be the size of a double decker bus if I keep on that this rate. I'm eating lots of carbs, just can't stop it!

excitedmummytob · 12/05/2016 21:40

Any advice on slapped cheek? I'm 10 weeks pregnant and work in a preschool with a child who has suspected slapped cheek? Going to nip for a blood test to see if I have it. Should I be in work?
