I'm 5'9 and DH is 6'4 so this baby will definitely be in the tall and lanky gang!

Great workout pink! I did spin this morning too and then deep cleaned the whole house..I'm now sat on the couch with a hot water bottle against my lower back as it feels like it's going to breakSad I have to remember to get DH to clean the mirrors and Windows from now on!

Shelb a stone?! That worries me...

leoniethelioness · 07/05/2016 20:18

I have absolutely no idea if it's a boy or girl, pink! We've gone with a dark navy pram and Timbuktales unisex bedding so we're covered either way. I can't wait to find out!

shelb Over a stone?! No way!

Pinklily1 · 07/05/2016 21:19

Fingers crossed you get to find out on Tuesday then Leonie! Both the colours/ patterns you have gone for are unisex anyway.

Shelb, I think my arms are going to hurt like hell in the morning as I haven't done weights for a while! I had to do them sitting on an exercise ball Smile

Yes, it's the linea nigra i mean. I've done some googling and apparently it's always there, but becomes darker and therefore noticeable during pregnancy, usually from week 23 onwards, so will probably start showing soon for us.

House cleaning is hard work, definitely back breaking stuff!

PotatosMum · 07/05/2016 21:31

Oh dear I think I've upset OH. We were all set to go and get new phones tomorrow (ours are both on their way out) but the guidance is not to get a new phone contract when applying for a mortgage... He's turned into a bit of a grumpy bum as he was looking forward to a shiny new iPhone Confused

Pink I've been waiting for the line thingie to turn up but so far it is absent.

Leonie looking forward to finding out which team you're on Smile

What do you ladies think I should do about people on the list who don't pop in at all any more? Just wondering as it's a very long list and a few of the people on it are missing in action...

I think maybe remove potato ? I know 5tardusty had sad news at 11 weeks but I'm not sure if she came back here to share it.

Pinklily1 · 07/05/2016 21:53

I think remove too Potato, as quite a few haven't been around now for a long time.

I'm with you on the not getting new phone contracts now when you are applying for a mortgage.

PotatosMum · 07/05/2016 22:01

Ok, here is our new list... If I've removed you and you're still here please kick me. If I've failed to remove someone who has vanished let me know Smile

Sad news about 5stardusty Stark

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/05/2016 22:27

I know, she's back with us on the ttc thread (which I still frequent even though I'm probably doing their heads in)

Anyone got any remedies for water retention/swelling? I think Because of the heat I've bloated/swelled up something rotten, I've had an allergic reaction to my wedding ring and I think it's something to do with the heat rash I've got ALL over! So I'm a giant, wobbly, boiling, rashy hellcat! Go me! Dh thinks I'm gorgeous! Something wrong with him I swear!

IndiX · 07/05/2016 22:32

Starky only thing that works is to drink looadsss of water and just flush your system out. Hot water and lemon is always good too..I had water retention the other week and felt so swollen and wobbly!

BunchOfBobs · 07/05/2016 22:35

Evening all.

My linea nigra turned up a couple of days ago. It's visible on my baked bump ig pic.

DH is 5'8 and I'm 5'3.5 (the extra half counts Wink) so I'm not expecting a long baby but as DH was a 10lb and myself 8lb1.5 and all family babies 9lbs I'm expecting a beast. Midwife said looking at me and feeling Pip through tummy she would agree with me.

I didn't know the hot water and lemon tip for water retention. I may have to try that one. My hands, feet and face have all swollen due to it. I miss my wedding rings Sad

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/05/2016 22:56

Ooh excellent thank you indi I've got some limes, I think we've got some lemons. From tomorrow am I'm cutting out ALL salt and draining my water bottle! I was doing really well and I've struggled this week with drinking water, I've just wanted juice. I feel DISGUSTINGLY fat and wobbly, I know it's somewhat par for the course but the bloating is really freaking me out today.

And because im such a bloated bloater I've had to do tinkly laughs and preempt my family by pretending I've just been eating too much and that I'm going to go on a diet! Roll on the next fortnight when I can spill the bloody beans!

Laurenrl · 07/05/2016 23:12

Exciting to hear about everyone's purchases this weekend, we're going to ikea tomorrow so I'm hoping to also have some new cute baby stuff in the house.

Im 5'4" and was 6.13 OH is 5'6" and was 6.03 so I'm hoping for a small but healthy baby!

Very exciting your scans on Tuesday leonie hopefully you can find out the sex. I'm gutted because mine is still 2 weeks on Monday meaning I'll be 2 days off being 22 weeks! Can't wait to see her and unbelievable that it will be the last time u til she's here!

shelbTa · 08/05/2016 07:47

Morning ladies

How are we?

Really want to go out and buy something today! Still confused about what to dress the baby in ( how I hold down a full time job I do not know..!)

Am I right in thinking - for us September ladies, they will wear shortsleeved vests with the poppers at the bottom (the ones that go over the head) for nighttime, and some long sleeved baby gros with the poppers down the front during the day? I don't know why it's confusing me so much!

X

PotatosMum · 08/05/2016 08:33

Shelb I'm late August, all I'm buying is baby grows (long and short sleeve), sleep suits ( the ones that cover feet and hands) and a couple of cardigans. I figure at that time of year mixing and matching those will cover most eventualities Smile

Off to IKEA for breakfast to look at kitchens for the new house today Smile We have our mortgage meeting on Tuesday... After being sure all this time that there won't be a problem I'm now terrified we'll be turned down. House buying is not good for my mental health lol

Pinklily1 · 08/05/2016 08:35

Morning all

Shelb, I thought at nighttime they would wear short sleeves vests as a base layer; and then a long sleeved/long legged bodysuit over that as their main layer. Then a blanket on top for the Moses basket. I know that's what my sister did with my nephew who was a July baby, although she did ditch one layer on days it was particularly warm.

It does feel like there is so much to learn! I'm sure a lot of it will be trial and error for us all.

shelbTa · 08/05/2016 09:14

Thanks ladies. It really is! I have no idea what I'm doing really. Hadn't got many clothes at all yet....

Enjoy ikea potato

Canters15 · 08/05/2016 09:27

Oh god the bloating! I feel huge. I got so upset yesterday because I don't have any warm weather clothes that fit now, and then DH got upset with me for being upset about being big because I should just accept my body is going to change. I think I will feel better when I have a proper bump instead of a bloaty midsection that just looks fat.

Never mind. Scan on Friday and then we can let the secret out after that!

I love IKEA, have fun potato!

Pinklily1 · 08/05/2016 09:34

Canters, I had a bit of a wobble yesterday as I had nothing to wear to go walking in that was going to be comfy and keep me cool enough. It's a horrible feeling realising that nothing fits anymore, but the reason it doesn't fit is a wonderful one! I also realised

I've also realised that I've put on 1st 2lbs so far (almost 24 weeks). We are going on a beach holiday when I'll be 30/31 weeks and I don't want to be looking like a whale!

Enjoy IKEA potato! I love shopping for house stuff. What kind of kitchen are you thinking of going for - modern/rustic etc?

shelbTa · 08/05/2016 09:41

Hearing ya ladies - I'm currently in a dress that barely covers my arse and won't be able to leave the house/garden in, but it's nice and cool.

Read yesterday that it's going to be the hottest summer in 40 years - worrying, I sweat a lot as it is! And the trains are going to be hell.

Planeteer · 08/05/2016 09:49

Morning all.

Leonie hurrah for the buggy purchase. Did you bring it home with you or are you getting it delivered closer to the due date? Ours won't appear with us until August ish, and I reckon it'll all start to feel more real once it's actually in the house! Excited for your scan on tues too - looking forward to seeing which team you're joining.

Pink (just mistyped that as 'Ponk' which caused uncontrollable giggling at my screen...cheers hormones!) that workout is so impressive. I am in awe and a little bit frightened haha. You and Bunch and Indi are really inspiring with your continued gym going. I need to sort myself out and do some exercise!!

Potato we had 4 more viewings yesterday but we're away at my dad's for the weekend, so not sure how they went. No phone calls to say an offer has come in though. Good luck for your mortgage meeting on Tues, hope it all goes smoothly.

I'm visiting my Dad for his birthday. Thought we were going for a low key lunch yday, and had been told 'no, no dress code, just be comfy'. So I rocked up in baggy mat jeans, a tunic and scruffy converse. Turns out, not lunch, surprise secret WEDDING for him and his OH!!!! Was handed a reading to do as we walked in. So chuffed for them both, and it was a lovely happy day, but I looked like a bag lady. Oops!!!

leoniethelioness · 08/05/2016 09:56

Planet We ordered it online as we could get a further 10% off. It's coming in mid June so about three months before we need it!

I can't wait to find out now but I'll be happy as long as the baby is healthy!

Feefeefs · 08/05/2016 10:23

Thanks elle, shelb, potatoes, pinkliky and planter have been a bit absent on here due to wobble. I'm either 7 weeks or 9 weeks. Paid for a private early scan 2 weeks ago abdominal and only pregnancy sac seen she seemed to think fine and my dates just wrong, not had any bleeding or anything. They are going to repeat it next Saturday and then 12(actually now don't know what I'll be!) week scan is 30th may. I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife on Wednesday this week too so hopefully will be in a more positive mind space next week.

I think we are in for a long baby too if all works out DH 6'5 and lean I'm 5'8(not so lean).

Jealous about all the heat descriptions no heat yet up in Scotland was only 12 degrees yesterday. Today is meant to be 22 degrees but with thunder and lightening Hmm

Pinklily1 · 08/05/2016 10:29

Feefs Flowers for the stressful time. Hope all goes well over the next few weeks.

A secret wedding is amazing Planet! I'm always impressed that people manage to keep things like that secret. I'm sure they were just happy you were there, regardless of baggy jeans etc!

Re the exercise, I was really active before and it got me really down at the beginning of pregnancy when I couldn't exercise due to the morning sickness. I feel so much more like me now, but am trying to take it a bit more gently than usual too. Hoping this mornings spin will loose up my legs!

Newmrs22 · 08/05/2016 10:30

Morning ladies. What a beautiful day. On Friday I decided I wanted to wear some shorts. I was convinced they'd fit as they were quite baggy last year and I thought they'd sit low enough. Obviously didn't. DH was wetting himself watching me. I think a really hot summer might be a challenge!

Health visitor was fine. She brought a student along. She asked loads of questions about me and DH and our health, if he abused me, if we took drugs... All standard questions I guess they need to ask. Was fine. She said I seemed pretty chilled (HA! I clearly let all the crazy out here). Talked to me about feeding, safe sleeping, gave me some leaflets.

Our baby seemed pretty smallish at the 20 week scan. I was expecting a whopper because DH is 6ft3, but it obviously takes after me instead Grin
