Nothing like that has ever happened to me before! I was determined I wasn't going to faint though, even as I could feel myself going! It was the fourth vial that did it, by the time I got to that one it was borderline game over! Will take a lucozade with me next time! Grin

Pinklily1 · 06/05/2016 20:38

Glad to hear things are on the mend May.

I know a few of us have been looking for gym clothes. I love my Mamalicious cropped exercise pants, so was about to order another pair when I cam across these, new at Mothercare:

www.mothercare.com/Active-Wear---Printed-Cropped-Maternity-Leggings/LJF044,default,pd.html#q='maternity%20fashion

I don't normally do understated gym clothes, so these are perfect and reasonably priced. Thought I'd share as I know Bunch is a fan of the bright stuff too!

Newmrs22 · 06/05/2016 20:47

pink love these. And reasonably priced!

Pinklily1 · 06/05/2016 20:49

I know! There is so little available in terms of gym stuff, i was so excited when I saw these!

shelbTa · 06/05/2016 22:14

Ohhh they are nice pink, might have to get some!

LillianFullStop · 06/05/2016 22:38

I'm with you stark and shelb - my hands felt like jelly and clammy and could barely make a fist when she asked me to make one. I must have gone pale because she had to say: "breathe, breathe don't hold your breathe - just breathe. I can't have you fainting here there are other women waiting with appointments after you!"

Co5mo · 06/05/2016 23:48

You won't be the first or the last to have a wobble at a blood test. I usually lie down so I don't have anywhere to fall! Proud of myself today though...4 hours at the maternity assessment unit because I was short of breath and when I walked around I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my blood. One normal blood test and three failed attempts at an arterial blood (ouchie) and I didn't faint. Home now thankfully with some iron tablets and the threat of iron infusions and blood transfusions. I guess that's better than a blood clot or pneumonia like the GP thought. Lots of rest required. I'm gonna milk this one as long as possible 😈

BunchOfBobs · 07/05/2016 07:47

Oooh thank you for the link Pink!! Really reasonably priced for maternity gym gear and yes finally to a pair that have a pattern.

Leonie. That's a stretchy wrap, like the moby and boba I have. Only think wrong with that photo is baby is too low. Baby needs to be high enough to kiss following the TICKS guidelines. But looks like a great sling, I've read good things about Kari me.

I'll have to have a look at those ones too. I want at least one to use at home and DH fancies trying it when we go out and about. I think I'm too clumsy for that... I've not done any research yet - where would you recommend I start, Bunch?

BunchOfBobs · 07/05/2016 08:15

I joined some Facebook groups Leonie. Named "slings and things- FSOT", "slings for sale- new and pre loved" and "cheap baby wearing slings". There are loads more they're just the selling groups I like. I knew I wanted some so joined the groups in hope of finding something cheap and ended up learning loads. People put up so much advice so they're great to use to learn from. And then just trawling Google and reading people's blogs.
Everyone will tell you to go to your local sling library as they have trained consultants and you can try slings with weighted dolls to see what you like. I've still not made it to mine but aim to go to the next one. (Excuse being its 1.5 hours away!!).

Jamjar12 · 07/05/2016 09:58

Haha Stark, I was like that! I was full of bravado, saying I'm fine with blood but then they had a lot of trouble getting anything out of me. After what seemed like forever, when it was over, I threw up for ages in her office!

The bloods ended up clotting so I had to have them done again- they couldn't get it to work- had to go somewhere else and ta dah, all done! Was all a bit of a nightmare!

mayago · 07/05/2016 13:45

Funny we were talking about fainting, and then last night I woke up with cramping at about 4. After half and hour or so, I figured I'd have a wee and see if that eased the cramps a bit. Made it to the bathroom and promptly fainted. Not sure how I missed bashing my head on the loo, but I did and came to with OH shouting my name and shaking me. He wanted to call for an ambulance, but I convinced him to call 111 instead, thinking they'd just send me back to bed. And then they told me to go to A&E anyhow..

A&E ran a load of tests, stuck in a cannula (almost made me faint again Hmm), and eventually sent me to gynaecology. They did an internal scan and an ultrasound, and we got to see some of baby's first heart beats at 5+3! My HCG level was more than 8000, and apparently they can see a pregnancy sac from 1500+. We were very lucky to see as much as we did, as it's still so very early.

I hope this isn't going to be a regular occurrence. OH and I don't live together yet, but are buying closer to his work, and 90 miles away from my house, in the summer.

leoniethelioness · 07/05/2016 15:31

Just to say - 10% off at Mamas and Papas with code 8hhjg7f6 today.

PotatosMum · 07/05/2016 16:31

Planet how did your viewings go?

Bunch glad your hearts all good and bump pain is nothing to worry about.

New how did the health visit go?

Shelb yay for definite movement Smile it's a great feeling, although, less so when you need a wee and baby won't stop fidgeting and kicking you in the bladder Confused

Leonie scans seem to turn us all into nervous wrecks but I'm sure it'll be fine Smile

Pink baths have the opposite effect on Potato, she determinly refuses to move when I get in... Spoil sport!

May glad things are better with your OH. Good luck with the house valuation and I hope the fainting turns out to be a one off!

Co5mo that hospital visit doesn't sound like fun. Glad you're home and being looked after Wink

Spent today pottering around a garden centre with OH. We're looking forward to having our little garden and planning some raised veg beds and things. Also had a yummy cream tea and bought a back scratcher Confused
I think I'm going to like having an excuse to go to garden centres Smile

Oh, and Potato is now 24 weeks and the size of a puffin... I'm about the size of a hippo and weigh about that too! I have a very definite waddle going on Confused

May - sorry I missed your post earlier. I hope that you are feeling better now.

I've bought a Gro Egg, a travel system and some nursery bedding today - my first baby purchases! I don't even have a cotbed yet and the room is still half-finished but it'll look lovely when the baby arrives. I'm spent out now! I just hope that everything is fine at our scan next week.

Thanks for the pram recommendations too. I looked at the Giggle, as recommended by a few of you, but the patterns are just not me! We've ended up with a Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT, which is being delivered in a few weeks. It wasn't one of the ones we were originally considering but it handled nicely in the shop, folded easily, and I liked the colours and massive hood. I'm very excited! I think it will work well when Pepper is bigger too - I have a feeling that with a 6'4" tall dad that he or she might grow quickly! DH looks about 4 in his baby photos when he was in fact only 2.

I think this will be by far our biggest purchase (we're being given cribs, a cotbed, etc. and our furniture will come from Ikea) so hopefully our purchases will be a bit cheaper from now on!

shelbTa · 07/05/2016 18:13

Hi ladies

Schorchio!!

May that sounds awful! Hope you're feeling better now.

Leonie - my OH is 6'4 and I'm almost 5'9 so we are expecting a biggie too! Are you team blue? I can't remember sorry.

Potato - I catch myself waddling too.

Spent the day sunning and just done a 4K walk which normally I wouldn't bat an eyelid at but it is definitely getting harder week by week.

X

leoniethelioness · 07/05/2016 19:06

shelb I'm only 5'0" so it's 50/50! We find out on Tuesday if we're having a boy or girl!

Great work on the walk!

PotatosMum · 07/05/2016 19:14

Both OH and I are about 5'3 as was my mum, dad and grandmother and OHs dad.
DSS towers over us at 13 so I guess his height genes come from his mums side, we're expecting Potato to have a healthy dose of short ass genetics Grin

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/05/2016 19:23

I'm 5,2 dh is 5,10. But neither of us is what you'd call delicate! I've always been "sturdy" , Dh was a whippet though until he was about 16, but he never sat still. This kids shoulders are going to be no joke to extrapolate though I fear.

Pinklily1 · 07/05/2016 19:34

Hi ladies

Hope everyone has enjoyed the warm weather today!

I'm 5"8 and OH is 6"2, so we are expecting a decent sized baby! I'm hoping for healthy but small though - I don't want a 9lber Shock

So exciting you have your scan on Tuesday Leonie. Do you have a feeling either way for whether you are having a boy or girl?

Has anyone developed that line thing down the tummy yet? I can't remember what it's called. I haven't yet but I'm assuming it will come later.

I'm shattered - spin class this morning, weights session and then a 6 mile walk with OH. I treated myself when we got home to a little nap and then a bath Grin Baby was really active again in the bath so safe to say she liked it!

shelbTa · 07/05/2016 19:34

My OH's grandad weighed a stone when he was born...worrying.

X

Pinklily1 · 07/05/2016 19:36

Ps Leonie, that's what put us off the Giggle as well. I like the bright colours but not a massive fan of patterns. Such a shame they don't do some plain but bright ones as the pram itself gets brilliant reviews.

Pinklily1 · 07/05/2016 19:37

A stone Shelb?! That's horrifying Shock

shelbTa · 07/05/2016 19:49

Haha, I know pink.

You mean the linea negra (spelt wrong)? I have a very faint one that came really early but hasn't got any darker.

shelbTa · 07/05/2016 19:49

Jesus Christ pink that is some serious exercise!
