Thanks TT, your good wishes are nery much appreciated.

Can't help feeling that something bad is going to happen so will be very releived hopefully this time tomorrow!.

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 15:30

Sweetheart, that's exactly, exactly how I felt. Almost all my friends lost their first pregnancies and I just couldn't believe I'd be the lucky one who didn't. Can't tell you the effect seeing him/her there screen had on both of us.

Hersetta · 10/01/2007 15:43

TT,

thanks again - am feeling a bit tearful about this already really want the results as it's doing my head in not knowing but I don't want them in case thery're bad - if you know what I mean.

Have to go by myself to this scan as DH is 50 miles away from where I work (on Oxford Street) and my Mum moved to spain 3 months ago (i'm an only child) so will have to think positive thoughs for a good result.

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 15:50

God I know exactly what you mean H. Could you possibly have a friend go with you for a bit of hand-holding ? It doesn't take long so perhaps if there's someone you'd feel comfortable with you could ask them ?

Catalepticdru · 10/01/2007 15:54

Still waiting for my letter for my dating scan. I really can't wait but I'm scared too becuase it all still feels so unreal to me. I fully expected AF to arrive last Sunday so was relieved when it didn't! It's my 1st pregnancy so I'm scared to death that I'll lose it. Especially because I was so quick to conceive as well! Just seems like I've been really lucky!
It's going to be a tough few weeks until I can see my little Bump is doing okay...

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 16:04

C - could you not perhaps sneak a private scan in somehow.... ??

Hersetta · 10/01/2007 16:09

TT,

not sure I want to expose my fanny to a work friend as this scan is being done vaginally not sure I could ever look at them the same again!!. Was yours done this way? Was it uncomfortable?

paulaplumpbottom · 10/01/2007 16:10

Well Ladies this is where I take my leave from you. I lost the baby on Monday afternoon and was finally discharged this afternoon.

I hope that that your pregnancys are happy and wonderful and end with beautiful, healthy babies.

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 16:12

Oh you're kidding !! Thought they only did them when you're 5/6 weeks. I just had a normal ultrasound like you expect when pg (well, like I did anyway). Ahem....funnily enough can understand your reticence in displaying all and sundry to someone from work !!

Hersetta · 10/01/2007 16:15

Paula,

so sorry to here your news - am gutted for you.

pinkranger · 10/01/2007 16:17

so sorry for you paula

Hersetta · 10/01/2007 16:17

TT,

think they can get clearer pictures this way - especially when ladies are like me and overweight so making a tummy scan a bit harder.

jem1969 · 10/01/2007 16:17

Hersetta

I went in on my own and it was fine (and I was convinced it wouldn't be). DH was actually in the waiting room but for some reason I didn't want him in there in case it was bad news.
There wasn't much room anyway once your legs are in the stirrup things!
All over quite quickly- the MW said would be like a smear. NOWHERE near as unpleasant although the 'probe' looks quite frightening! I will warn you that she didn't say anything for a while so you think something is wrong. In fact she thought she saw twins but one was just a shadow...

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 16:18

Oh Paula, am really upset for you too. Is sad news indeed

Babbit · 10/01/2007 16:29

I am so sorry Paula.

Hersetta · 10/01/2007 16:34

Thanks for the info Jem - eeek Stirrups, hadn't expected that (although will probably have to start!).

jem1969 · 10/01/2007 16:35

very sorry to hear that Paula

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 17:03

H - am definitely thinking that perhaps you shouldn't take a work colleague with you to this scan then.....

Hersetta · 10/01/2007 17:12

Me either (doesn't sound like my dignity will be coming either though

boobooma · 10/01/2007 17:33

Paula, really sorry to hear about your loss, lots of hugs for you.

tokentotty · 10/01/2007 17:36

I think all women check that in at the door of conception......

Right, bonsoir all. Off for a healthy, low-cal dinner of fishfingers, chips and beans. Is great indulging myself !

feedmenow · 10/01/2007 17:43

Oh Paula, lots of love and hugs to you and your dp. I hope that we'll be hearing from you again when you feel good and ready.....xx

treacletart · 10/01/2007 18:42

Oh Paula! I was hoping your abscence wasn't a bad sign . I'm so so sorry. We were due about the same day I think and both miscarried last autumn. I can't imagine how you must be feeling, but wish I could say something clever to comfort you. I'll be thinking of you and your family. x.

Loulee · 10/01/2007 19:06

Really sad for you Paula - I too have been wondering where and how you are. Thinking of you x

BabyMadwithBump · 10/01/2007 20:12

I am so sorry Paula.

Doctor sent me a letter this morning sayng I must phone him regarding the thyroid test I had last week, I then phoned him and he said that my thyroid gland is working far to fast, and he's sending the hospital my details but not by post he said it takes to long, he was faxing them asap and putting on it urgent, as I'm PG! no wonder I'm feeling so bad if my body is in overdrive!
