Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
loler · 06/03/2007 15:39

We've got 4 houses to view next Sunday. Have also got In laws staying for the weekend - got the MW the day they leave, am expecting to be rushed to hospital with high blood pressure!

tokentotty · 06/03/2007 16:34

One word.....EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK !!!!

stretchmarks · 07/03/2007 10:08

HI Everyone,

Been away with work for a couple of days so just had a quick read through all the last posts, apologies if I miss anyone out.

Loulee - sorry to hear about the results and being called back for an amnio. It must be a very difficult time for you - how many weeks are you ? Have you had a nuchal scan as well?

Pink - glad to hear everything was ok at the hospital - another scan - this baby certainly won't be camera shy and another boy congratualtions. I can't wait to find out what I'm having I've started to refer to this one as her as DS keeps saying it's a girl.

PMSL at the Khlamydia - my friend is a teacher at a very rough school in Birmingham and we have hours of entertainment going trhough the names of some of her kids - let alone the kids kids !!!

Loler congrats on the sale - enjoy the house hunting I know it's stessful but it's always great having a nose around other people's homes

Tokentotty your spa day sounds fab - I think I am going to indulge and book myself one for my days off over Easter it's been ages and I could do with a good buff and polish !!!

Baby has been kicking loads this morning which has cheered me up no end - my due date from my mc is next week so have been feeling very down for the last couple of days and hormone levels aren't helping you know things are bad when you're crying as you watch DIY SOS !!!!!

SweetyDarling · 07/03/2007 10:21

Strechmarks - so jealous - haven't had any kicks yet. Would be very reassuring. Am I the only one who seems to constantly worry that something might have gone wrong (despite everything seemingly going fine)?
Don't think I'll be able to wait for 20 weeks - might have to go for another scan in the interim!

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 10:30

Am really jealous of your baby moving too Stretchmarks ! Must try that lying in the bath tip this week and see if I can notice anything. Had a bit of a strange one this morning. got out of bed and was in such pain. Was like having a terrible stitch in my side and gave me an acute pain even when just breathing. It's passed now but really wasn't fun. Any ideas anyone ?

SweetyDarling · 07/03/2007 10:38

Constipation? Trapped wind?
Abdominal muscles relaxing/seperating?

pinkranger · 07/03/2007 10:39

Hi everyone -

Strechmarks - very about the movement, havent felt anything "real' yet but hey im only 16 weeks! - I know what you mean about the scans , ive had 6 scans

My Edd from my m/c is apporaching on Sunday, not sure what i will do but i have some lillys to plant in the garden and will get DS to help me and just try and keep busy. Hope you will be o.k too.

TT - the pains i think are to do with streching i get these if i get up really quickly, normally down my left side, but they wear off quite quickly!

Hope everyone else is well, i feel like i have lots of energy at the moment so am sorting out my bedroom so we can clear the small one for babe!

stretchmarks · 07/03/2007 10:41

tokentotty - sounds like stretching pains they can be very painful at times. I seem to have periods where i get loads and then they stop again.

I have had a sudden growth spurt as well this week following a couple of weeks of stretching pains. Was quite surprised when I put on a jumper Monday night to see a definate bump - still just look fat to others !!! Still getting into my suit for work but with looser tops and was in my normal jeans last weekend - don't think I will be this weekend !!!

pinkranger · 07/03/2007 10:43

i alsao seem to grow a little after having a few days of pains

have brought some new clothes and have just been having a look at next, normally dont wear there clothes but there mat stuff is really nice, cant wait for the weather to get warm as i HATE wear jeans when preg _ bring on the the Linen trousers!!!

stretchmarks · 07/03/2007 10:44

I was thinking about planting something Pink especially with it being spring time now but I am not renowned for my green fingers and couldn't bear to watch something I'd planted for my baby wither away - any gardeners able to recommend something nice that is VERY hardy.

My other thought was to buy a really nice little ornament or something for the house.

pinkranger · 07/03/2007 10:47

Im not to good at gardneing either but im puting them in pots and appartnly as long as you plant them deep they should be o.k , they will be in flower by august so when babe comes along he can see them and know about his other sibling ( if you know what i mean)

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 10:51

This might not be quite what you had in mind Stretchmarks but as your EDD date is so soon perhaps a little patch of spring bulbs would be nice to plant in order for you to have something that'll make you smile at this time every year ? It's daffodil time and I noticed a hyacinth starting to flower this morning in my garden too. Perhaps some tulips as well and then no matter what the weather brings one of them at least is bound to be in bloom ?

Hersetta · 07/03/2007 11:03

How about a hardy annual called a bleeding heart. I've had one for a while and it comes up every year. It dies away in the winter but comes up bigger each spring and in the summer there are heart shaped pink flowers with white drops which people think look like tears.

Google bleeding heart plant and you'll get pictures of the flowers.

Hope everyone is OK. Feeling really tired at the moment - am exhausted by my commute into work in the mornings. I am getting stabbing pains in my side too if i turn over in bed too quickly which take my breath away but apart from that, I'm feeling fine.

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 11:25

Hey H, sorry to hear you're getting the pains too.

I had a bleeing heart plant that my Dad did a cutting of for me but I left it at my old house. I moved into my family home in August so in the summer will be searching the garden for it to see if his is still there....

kiteflying · 07/03/2007 11:37

Hi everyone, Stretchmarks and pinkranger, I liked TT's ideas about the spring bulbs (Hyancinths are lovely) although it sounds like a lot of work (my only success is my pot of jade, which has never failed me despite much neglect)and I guess you won't have a year round memorial to your baby. Thinking of you both and what you are going through on the weekend. My sister miscarried last December and ironically has only really started to talk to me about it since I have been pregnant, which must be so hard for her.

Hersetta, I am also really tired at the moment and we have put it down to baby having a growth spurt, but it's frustrating when it seems morning sickness is on its way out and yet you are still exhausted and useless, isn't it. I want, need and crave a big spa day like token totty's!!

I am still not showing until last thing in the evening when I have a big balloon at the front. And when I wake in the early hours, I definitely feel a stretching out there but by morning I seem to be just fat again. I am in my old size 12 suits but no one at work has noticed thankfully.

We are planning a week away next week and I am a bit nervous about flying even though I know all the advice is that it's fine and the metal detectors are fine and all the rest. My boyfriend is worried that as I am so protective now I am going to turn into a mega-smothering mum.

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 11:41

Well Kite ??? As I recall you were going to make some "Mrs Angry from North London" phone calls to hospitals etc yesterday - what's the story ??

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 11:42

Oh and to you being in size 12 suits still !!!

lovelybird · 07/03/2007 11:53

Hi everyone,

So many posts on here! I've had a quick read through and i'm glad to hear that everyone is OK. I'm fine, blooming nicely now i'm 17 weeks. I'm in maternity clothes and look quite big. Think I'm going to be huge, part baby and part fat tummy!! I'm feeling OK but the tiredness is wiping me out. I work 4 short days a week and have DS aged 2 to look after and I could honestly go to bed with him at 7pm everynight. I'm shattered all the time, went back to bed at 9am on Sunday morning and slept till 11am and that's after a good nights sleep. I've started taking Pregnacare in case I need a boost. Anyone else feeling exhausted? I had a couple of weeks 13-14 when i felt OK but knackered again now. Hoping it's all down to a healthy baby zapping all my energy.

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 11:58

Hey lovelybird - if you get a chance, pop down to Holland and Barrett and buy yourself a big bottle of FLORADIX. Will help with how you're feeling, probably more than pregnacare.

Other than that, how are you doing ?

Hersetta · 07/03/2007 11:58

I'm not showing at all either Kite - in fact my clothes are bigger than before I was PG (effect of not drinking I think and my ability to eat big meals has gone as well). My tummy is really hard at night but by the morning has again turned once again into a mound of wobbling tummy fat.

The break will be good for you. If you are concerned about the metal dectectors tell the screener you are PG and they allow you to walk around the scanner and then give you a hand pat down.

I did this when we went to the caribbean the day after we found out I was PG - no time to read up on do's and don't and what's safe and what's not so didn't know if i should go through it or not. I have been on 3 trips since then though and now go through the dectector as I know there is no risk.

Our holiday to the Maldives in 9 weeks can't come soon enough.

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 12:25

Eh ??? I've been showing for ages ! Got given a seat on the train and everything coming home from The Sanctuary on Monday! God I'm a right lump if no-one else is looking so big and I've got no excuses about previous pg either as this is my first.

Oooh the Maldives huh, that will be blissful H, all that sheer relaxtion ! I'm fitting as many trips in as possible I have to admit. Back to Spain for 9 days on 24th March, 5 days from 21st April and then a week in Las Vegas from 12th May.

Hersetta · 07/03/2007 12:54

Wow TT - you were lucky getting offered a seat of the tube! There usually a lot of thoughless sos and so's !!

Can't wait TT - it is blissful. This will be our 4th visit (we were first there during the 2004 boxing day tsunami and were evacuated home, but even that couldn't put us off going back). We're going back to Spain as well for 5 days at Easter and may fit in a break in June for our wedding anniversary (assumming the docs sign me off as fit to fly). Can't imagine Vegas being quite as restful as the Maldives !!

I'm not worried about showing yet - I a big girl anyway so i have been told it will take longer for me to show in the first place.

loler · 07/03/2007 13:02

tt- I love vegas - can I come too?

I'm still in normal clothes but need to undo trousers at the end of the day!

Still waiting for the bit where I start blooming and am filled with energy - propably need more than 5 hours sleep a night! Keep thinking that this baby will be a breeze as yet to have full nights sleep after last time! What you don't have you can't miss.

Just about to go to see consultant to argue case to be monitored for size and (fingers crossed) induced. DD - 9lb DS - induced at 10lb this one.......? Feeling a bit worried.

Kite - how did your phone call go?

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 13:04

I know ! Couldn't believe it myself that this guy was kind enough and noticed. I mean there really is no missing it on me now so can't put it down to that. Obviously this guy was at the far end of the carriage and managed to see me despite the fact that the people near to me had developed temporary blindness.....

Erm no...won't be anywhere near as restful in Vegas that's for sure. Unfortunately I'll never get to experience somewhere like that as DH would hate it. He gets bored and cannot sit still. Even in Spain, I'll be relaxing and reading, snoozing in the sun etc and he'll be 'pottering'. This could mean anything from building to cleaning or even an oil painting. Anything but just laze about. We ended up in Vegas on our honeymoon when we had no money and no reservations (very long story) and spent loads of time just wandering around looking at all the hotels etc. Don't think I'll be as up for that this time at six months pg !

tokentotty · 07/03/2007 13:06

Course you can Loler - you deserve it

I repeat last night's one word to you - eeek! I'm not surprised you want to be monitored for carrying heavy goods ! As for blooming - think I'm more just ballooning tbh!
