Many thanks to all for the kind thoughts and messages, the baby is still in its rightful place for now, scan yesterday showed all is still well and it is still growing so the plan is still to try to keep it in as long as possible, and I am really hoping some of that can be at home as being in the Labour ward surrounded by women trying to give birth whilst you try not to is odd. Have learnt so much in the last few days!

Samba they are happy to keep it in with no waters for up to several weeks - the scan confirmed there is pretty much nothing left in there, and you can tell from my bump which, as mr red kindly pointed out, now just looks like I've eaten lots of pies rather than am pregnant as it's gone all soft and squishy!

cautious and mindful I dreamt your partners were in the Labour ward here last night arguing over who was going to give a talk on breastfeeding. I knew it was them as they were referred to by the midwife as Mr Cautious Optimist and Mr Mindful Bear. Very strange!

Hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks as much as possible without too many annoying niggles- I have to say the one good thing about all this is it has forced me to rest on a level I don't think I ever have before, and I definitely recommend taking it as easy as you can at the moment. Remember there is still a lot going on in there and don't feel guilty for feeling like you want to sit down with a cup of tea for 10 minutes or have a nap. That baby is still stealing a lot of energy and nutrition from you!

booked83 · 29/04/2016 07:30

Yes red it's an odd experience! I'm with you on that... My daughter did nothing while others where being whisked away! Meh!

Guess where i am... Rvi got put in over night yesterday 24/48 hours and guess what my blood pressure again... It was really high but the new high dosage of labetamol give me headaches! So no idea what there going to do! Confused will find out this morning I suppose!

laughingGnomette · 29/04/2016 09:11

Oh booked I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. It must feel like you spend more time in hospital than at home! (I used to live next to the RVI in my student days Grin). I hope it's a positive outcome for you.

Thinking of you today too mrsmugoo! Fingers crossed for a nice head down, engaged baby!

redtammy - fingers crossed you get to spend time at home in peaceful comfort!

mrsmugoo · 29/04/2016 09:26

Thanks! I'm just leaving now for 10am appt!

MadrigalElectromotive · 29/04/2016 09:39

Mindful my bump has been the same. Pretty uncomfortable!

Red glad baby is staying put.

Sorry you are stuck in hospital booked.

Good luck Mrsmugoo!

I have a disgusting cold at the moment which is making me pretty miserable and setting off my hyperemesis again so I'm vomiting uncontrollably once more. Angry MW nearly readmitted me to hospital for rehydration yesterday but I managed to persuade her to let me try to get it under control myself. Can't believe I'm still dealing with sickness at 35 weeks! ShockHmmConfusedAngrySad

At least it is helping with the nerves about the c section - I can't wait for baby to be here and pregnancy to be over!

nehagarg · 29/04/2016 11:01

At hospital for my consultant appointment. Waited 45 min and then went to ask receptionist how much longer. She forgot to call the doctor! Uffff!! Didnt anyone ever tell her not to mess with a pregnant woman? Grrr.

I am more annoyed than I should be. Really hope this is pregnancy hormones and lack of sleep.

Good luck mrsmugoo. Hope the baby is head down and engaged.

Hope you are out soon booked

Great news that the baby is staying put red. Fingers crossed they'll let you go home soon and baby will hang on another few weeks.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough Madrigal. Fingers crossed it will let up soon.

Hello newbies!

Nehagarg ffs!! You've got to laugh eh?! (Or kill the receptionist!).

All ok here, far too many things to do at work- I'm definitely getting more irritable with time wasters. We hit the "buy now" button on our John Lewis list yesterday including buggy etc and carpet was laid earlier in the week so everything feels like it's coming together. DH needs to change a few switches over to dimmers but we are pretty much done with DIY (at least for now!) and just need to have a good clean.

I'm beginning to get a bit swollen too, particularly with my feet but I only saw the MW last Friday and BP and protein all fine so it's not PE. 4 weeks Monday til I'm classed as full term, it feels like it's going too quickly!!!

nehagarg · 29/04/2016 11:37

Eastend yep. Its funny now. Was ready to cry when she told me I need to wait longer. And then wanted to cry even more at the fact that I felt like crying over something so ridiculous. Grin

Glad you are feeling a bit more orgnaised. I need to get a good clean sorted too.

Specially now that my induction is booked. 10th May. Only 11 days to go! I'll be 37+1.

Happy that there is a plan and an end in sight but I sooooooo don't feel ready to have a baby! Shock

Grr nehagarg that is so frustrating!

Ooh it's lovely to hear everyone getting organised. Our nursery is decorated, looks a mess as I've got so many flipping clothes everywhere in bin bags (just moved) so I need to do a load of washing.
Is anyone getting really itchy? my bump itches, near my groin so it looks really rude if surreptitiously itch it at work! itchy feet too but I think one of them is a bloody fly bite. Midwife says nothing to really worry about, it could just be dry skin stretching out (attractive).

GrubbyWindows · 29/04/2016 11:57

Commiserations to all stuck in hospital!
Can't believe we are so close to babies!!!!
The big question is... Can we make it to the end of this thread without anyone giving birth??? Just a few posts more... (I know the FB group has had some super early arrivals already)

nehagarg · 29/04/2016 12:11

I was thinking the same thing Grubby. Grin

Gina - I'd ask midwife to do an Obstetric Cholestasis blood test. I had itching which i considered mild. Mentioned it to midwife and was surprised ehen she took bloods and told me later that I had OC. I am being induced at 37+1 because of it. My itching is still mild and I am not taking any medication but goes to show that you never really know and its better to be safe.

GinaBambino · 29/04/2016 12:26

Thanks nehagarg I had bloods taken on Tuesday as I've moved house and hospital, so I basically had to do everything again! That might be the cause so I'll ask her to double check when my bloods come back, although I'll be 35 weeks then so if it is that, I'll need inducing shortly afterwards? Sorry first baby and have no idea what half these things are!

Vikkijayne2507 · 29/04/2016 12:32

Hope you don't mind me tagging on, I'm due early July and ds1 was 3 weeks early

nehagarg · 29/04/2016 12:34

I am the same. First baby so ask a million questions. Depends on results really. In all probability your itching eill be stretching skin but OC carries a risk to the baby so its better to be over cautious. Specially since even mild itching can mean you have it.

If you do have it, they will look at inducing you at 37 weeks. My levels were normal for the past 3 weeks so doc decided to wait until 38 weeks but they've gone back up a bit today. Only 13 (normal is 10) and he took an immediate decision to induce and booked me in.

Good luck. Hopefully yours is nothing. Smile

Hi vikki and other newbies Smile

Ooh exciting that you have a date now nehagarg sorry you had a rubbish appointment though.

booked hope you get out soon

Glad baby is staying put red

I've got MW coming to the house on Sunday to talk to us about labour (also 34 wk check up) and the consultant and growth scan on Tuesday for what I assume will be the last time where consultant will likely make make the final call on induction or not. Looking like not at the moment hence the MW talk!

laughingGnomette · 29/04/2016 13:41

Welcome gina and vikki!

Eek nehagarg! How exciting you have an induction date! What are you doing about work?

strawberry - wow, home visits on a Sunday is good service!

I'm feeling so disorganised! We've got loads of things to sort out, buy and wash but very little time to do it all as I'm still at work and have things on pretty much every weekend. Plus walking is very difficult so I can't just nip to the shops. Packed my hospital bag last night though so that's something I suppose!!

mrsmugoo · 29/04/2016 13:50

Afternoon all - baby is head down at the moment yay!

nehagarg · 29/04/2016 13:55

Yaaay Mrsmugoo. Thats brilliant news. Well done baby! Smile

Thanks laughing and strawberry. My maternity was due to start 13th may but I told my boss yesterday that I am going to work from home between now and then. He does know there is a possibility I will be induced so looks like my maternity will now start on the 10th. He'll be okay about it. He never expected me to make it all the way to the 13th and has already written me off (in a good way).

Need to get the final bits together now and clean the flat.

Good luck with the midwife strawberry

Great news mrsmugoo!

strawberrypenguin · 29/04/2016 15:10

Yay for a head down baby mrsmugoo

I was impressed when the midwife booked it in too laughing

mrsmugoo · 29/04/2016 15:25

Was in a rush earlier so couldn't type more but also from today's appointment I had raised BP - think it was 130/94 so I now have to have it monitored every 3-5 days until it stabilises so MW is coming to my house Sunday to take it.

Eastend2015 · 29/04/2016 16:23

Fingers x'd mrsmugoo that it stabilises soon!

A trivial issue but chocolate is now giving me indigestion. Not happy! It's been my saviour since having to keep the booze to a minimal level!!

dollydaydream84 · 29/04/2016 16:27

No gestational diabetes for me hurray!

I too was in hospital last night for monitoring an episode of "lazy baby" - heartbeat fine just not moving half as much as normal. Similar today so may be going back to night. Also have a cold. Sounds like we've all hit 30 weeks - all downhill from here I always say! :D

emma85x · 29/04/2016 17:41

Thinking of you red

You have a date nehagarg how darn exciting is that!!!

I'm 33+1 today and measured just over 38 weeks on my fhm. Holy moly. They're sending me for a growth scan then I need to see the consultant. Last scan was pretty much in line with the fhm. I think they're going to induce. Do you think they'll induce me before 37 weeks??? Argh!
