Sorry for the ranty post :(

mrsmugoo · 27/04/2016 15:41

Sorry to hear yours is breech Laughing - I've been there and it's so frustrating being in limbo. My 34 week appointment is on Friday and I will be begging to be palpated to check position as the anxiety of not knowing is driving me up the wall. I can't even dare to start mentally preparing for labour if it's going to be another ELCS. Statistically there's still every chance of turning but you know your body/baby and I knew my DS wouldn't turn by this point and he didn't.

So today I suddenly feel super energetic! I was up, dressed and ready to leave the house this morning before my DS was even awake! I've been crossing things off my to-do list left right and centre today. I will probably have a major crash when I get home though.

MadrigalElectromotive · 27/04/2016 15:59

Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet on here lately. Not much news with me really. I have been booked for an ELCS on the 18th May so in three weeks I will have a baby! Crazy times.

rew0077 · 27/04/2016 17:43

So sorry laughing that you're having a hard time. PGP is so miserable - horrible that it's affecting you so much. Hope the acupuncture and physio helps (and you don't have to wait too long)!
Fingers crossed the baby does turn. We have everything crossed ours turns as I really want to avoid a c-section. Will cross some extra for you.
Good though that your DP won't have to give evidence (some silver lining!!)

MollieRos · 27/04/2016 17:48

laughing sorry to hear that the baby's breech, and about the PGP too, hopefully the physio and acupuncture will help. I've been struggling a bit today with what I think must be pelvic pain (I've only really had a few tweaks up to now). It's like a sharp bruise kind of pain in my groin where my legs join my body, and kind of over my pubic bone. It's increasingly painful to walk so I feel a bit like I'm hobbling about. I'm hoping it won't get any worse.

booked I'm shattered too- I've been napping every evening when I get home from work. I'm sleeping really badly though due to hip pain in the night, so that's not helping.

nehagarg I was wondering if my bump has dropped too. It's always been very low but I'm thinking it looks even lower than normal at the moment.

I've had a couple of days where everyone I see feels the need to comment on how tiny my bump is, and to exclaim about how they can't believe I'm 35 weeks with such a tiny bump. I know that it's most likely fine and everyone's bump looks different, but it doesn't help my anxiety with another growth scan next week to check he's still growing!

JellyBaby26 · 27/04/2016 17:51

Gosh madrigal that is very soon!

Mollie I have been having that pelvic pain too. It's so hard to explain what It feels like and I feel like I constantly have my hands down my trousers like a little boy !!

laughingGnomette · 27/04/2016 19:03

Madrigal! Wow, thats not far away! Are you all set?

mrsmugoo - good luck for Friday. Do you have any inkling of how the baby is positioned?

Thanks rew! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too. Are you doing any exercises to try and encourage the baby to turn? DS was head down and engaged at this point in my last pregnancy so its all new territory for me! I was just talking to one of the mums at DS's nursery and she said that she was able to get both of her breech babies to turn after this point just by doing the spinning babies exercises so it is possible.

Mollie - I'm sorry you're getting pains too. It does sound to me like what you are describing is PGP. The main thing they suggest to keep it under control is to try not to open your legs wide, e.g. when you are getting out of a car.

strawberrypenguin · 27/04/2016 19:22

Wow madrigal that's coming up fast! How are you feeling about it?

I've got me coming on Sunday so I'll ask her where the little guy is. Feels like he's lower in that there's more pressure low down when I stand up but he's really hitting me (kicking I hope!) in the ribs as well as I've given up trying to work it out!

clarish84 · 27/04/2016 19:47

Washing baby stuff and picking what I want to put in my bag and got to very excited helpers. Just thought I'd share something nice as I always feel like all I do is moan about this that and the other since being pregnant Smile

booked83 · 27/04/2016 20:27

*clarish that's lovely bout your helpers it's ok to have a moan on here...

I miss my legs and feet lol

laughingGnomette · 27/04/2016 20:31

What lovely, helpful girls you have there clarish!

mrsmugoo · 27/04/2016 20:57

Laughing - not really. I feel kicks at the top which make me think head down but then also hiccups feel like they're at the top.

But I haven't had anything like the discomfort I had when carrying my son which was agony in the ribs and I could feel his head plain as day in my ribs which I can't feel now. My bump is currently rock hard and I can't make out anything really.

But she moves quite a lot and some of the time I swear she's all sideways lying at the bottom.

Arrrrgh the not knowing is so annoying!!

booked83 · 27/04/2016 21:35

I have a wonky bump he is transverse he is bum to the left side head to the right he move this afternoon and it was lovely release but now back there... Little swine! 5 weeks on Monday! Grin got some more bits.. Is anyone having a baby shower? X

AmIseeingRight · 27/04/2016 22:56

booked yup and I'm super excited for my baby shower is this Sunday Grin just got the invite as my friends organised & are hosting it. Then went straight onto asos to get myself a dress. what about you?

redtammy · 28/04/2016 06:33

So ladies who are procrastinating with a hospital bag, I can highly recommend at least having that ready - yesterday my waters broke as I sat down for a cup of tea. Not ideal at 31+1 so doing all that can be done to keep this wee one in place for a bit longer. Whilst DH panics about lack of baby stuff (after saying for the last few weeks how much time we have and there is no rush) and the likelihood of him now having to shop for it all with MiL!

bikingintherain · 28/04/2016 06:39

Oh wow red, that must have come as a huge shock! Are they keeping you in hospital now? What's their plan? All the best to you all. I will definitely think about packing a hospital bag now!

dollydaydream84 · 28/04/2016 06:42

Best of luck red Tammy! That has definitely given me a huge nudge to get on with doing my bag! Hope everything goes well for you xxx

redtammy · 28/04/2016 07:04

Thanks ladies, yes a massive shock, I was convinced this was going to be a super late baby! Am staying in for another day at least for more drugs and monitoring but they are hoping I can go home tomorrow and keep my legs crossed for a few more weeks. I never the baby can stay in even after your waters have ruptured but the aim is to make it to 34/35 weeks. In some indignity however, as the amniotic fluid just keeps coming.....!

laughingGnomette · 28/04/2016 07:20

Oh my goodness redtammy!! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

mrsmugoo - strangely, I always feel hiccups very low down where his feet are supposed to be which makes no sense.

I think he's been trying to turn this morning, he's been going crazy and I'm feeling movements everywhere. Scan on Tuesday so we'll see!

Torfhinn · 28/04/2016 07:28

Wow, redtammy, hoping that baby stays put for a few more weeks. I'm going to buy stuff for my hospital bag today (34+4). Then i just have to find the bag Grin

dollydaydream84 · 28/04/2016 07:28

Redtammy poor you! The leakage of waters for the 24 hours I was in labour was one of the worst things! I naively assumed waters broke and it ended immediately not the slow continuous leak. Poor you having to go through that for a few weeks! I had no ideas babies could stay in without fluid either! Learn something new every day. Best of luck with it!

iamdivergent · 28/04/2016 07:30

Good luck red 😊

MadrigalElectromotive · 28/04/2016 07:33

That must have been a shock red! Really hope that baby will cooperate and stay put for another few weeks. Thanks

nehagarg · 28/04/2016 08:32

Oh wow red. Best of luck. Hope baby stays put another few weeks.

AmI thats very nice of your friends. Hope you have a good one.

Not having a baby shower. But that's because I dont like crowds and definitely don't like being centre of attention at a party. Spending weekends catching up with all my friends separately though. Smile

rew0077 · 28/04/2016 08:51

Red - good luck. Hopefully the baby decides to stay put a little longer!

Laughing - sounds promising. Hopefully baby is attempting the big move. I've looked at spinning babies. Going to try some of the exercises (and ball bouncing!!)

I really don't having anything ready. Was going to wait until mat leave but I'll be 37w - maybe that's a bit tight!!
