plimsolls the middle names we've chosen are my parents' names Blush but we're not naming for them. Well, Eleanor is has been used by a couple of generations and we're using the Scottish spelling of Iain (DH is Scottish and that's where we live). I think it's nice to have some continuity.

suzie how about Gwen? We'd use it, but we have a close friend called that Angry

pickle I love Alys spelled that way. It was definitely on my list.

chiana send me a friend request on FB (I'm Harriet Leslie, my picture is a Powerpuff Girl) and I'll add you to the group.

Definitely starting to get aches and pains now! Quite sore below my bump, which I reckon is round ligament pain and seems to be made worse by a full bladder) and the top of my back hurts. Not sure whether that's to do with poor posture at work or having to compensate for my massive breasts!

plimsolls · 25/04/2016 18:59

hgl there's no thought in my head that 'middle naming' after living people is remotely strange. I think it's lovely. My concern about my potential daughter is that I'd be using it as a first name.... (I meant to say earlier that I LOVE both Marion and Francis, fantastic names).

Fizzyboo · 25/04/2016 20:23

So happy, DH just spoke with the fetal cardiologist nurse who had spoken with the consultant specialist about our questions to do with the scary links we had read to do with a missing bit of chromosome. She assured us they nearly always see other markers present such as cleft palate etc and none have been seen on my girl. She said they can't ever give you 100%, I'd need the amnio, but she said my risk from the amnio causing miscarriage odds are higher than the risk of the chromosome being partially deleted. So that's pretty reassuring frankly. The NHS can be mindblowingly awesome!

Fizzyboo · 25/04/2016 20:25

Also, on the naming after living folks, our middle name choice is after her very much alive great grandmother, who is super touched by it!! She swells with pride when she tells people Grin

plimsolls · 25/04/2016 20:31

fizzy. That is BRILLIANT NEWS. Now, no more consultations with Dr Google!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 25/04/2016 21:14

fizzy excellent news - I'm so pleased for you! Now you can start to relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

Mslg I don't mind people touching my bump but only friends and family - strangers is weird and rude!

I should take my own advice really but my anxiety is through the roof just now. DH is away with work and that always exacerbates it but with my feet being swollen I've convinced myself I have preeclampsia. Spoke to the midwife who was reassuring and as I have an appointment on Wednesday with perinatal mental health she says they can check my blood pressure and urine then.

Ugh - hate being on my own and being a stress!

Chianablue · 25/04/2016 22:04

Great news Fizzy
What do you guys prefer Alfie or Peter?

Sophia1984 · 25/04/2016 22:19

Was talking to my friend about crazy heartburn I am getting, and she mentioned the old wive's tale about baby having a full head of hair. Looked it up and there's been an actual medical study! www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17150070 DP has gorgeous thick hair, so it makes sense..

Anyone else really suffering with it? Have been using Rennies but they're not cutting it anymore so need to buy some Gaviscon tomorrow.

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Alfie I get really bad anxiety too, and have started getting 'separation anxiety' when away from DP - getting really worried if he doesn't text straight back etc. Swollen feet is a totally normal pregnancy symptom. Have you been referred for CBT through the perinatal mental health team? I've had a couple of sessions and found them really helpful (despite always having been quite cynical about it)

Fizzyboo · 25/04/2016 22:42

Thanks guys! No fear, I'm staying off Dr Google now, DH says Dr Google is like Dr Nick from The Simpsons!

Chiana, loving Alfie!

Christinedonna · 25/04/2016 22:53

I think Alfie is a lot more popular than Peter. I like original names so would probably go with Peter

plimsolls · 25/04/2016 22:56

I bloody love Peter. It is/was on our list for if this baby is a boy. It's just such an excellent name. (Alfie is also lovely).

plimsolls · 25/04/2016 22:58

Sophia Getting a fair bit of heartburn and a lot of trapped wind in my chest, throat and shoulders. Horrible .... feels like a (presumably very mild) heart attack so I'm using a lot of Rennie's Deflatine which combats both.

Longtimelistener · 25/04/2016 23:11

Fizzy That's great news. Now stay away from Dr. Google and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :)

Sophia Not sure if it's quite the same, but I had awful acid reflux with DS1. I was quite surprised to learn that it was related to sleeping position. Once I started sleeping with a pillow under my bump it improved massively (I think it straightens out your digestive tract or something - but don't quote me on that). That and regular Gaviscon did the trick for me. Oh, and DS1 was born with loads of hair Smile

We're getting nowhere with names. I spend most Saturday nights reeling through boys names with DP and getting nowhere. He seems to have fixated on Sören / Søren, which I have no problem with as a name, but I think will sound ridiculous with the baby's double-barrelled, part Mediterranean surname! I'm hoping he's not serious and is just doing it to wind me up..!

hg I've sent you a Facebook friend request. As mentioned above, I have an unusual Mediterranean surname ;)

Salene · 26/04/2016 06:59

We have picked the name William after my dad, who is alive and kicking Wink

My 19 month old is called Robert after my husband side of family

plimsolls · 26/04/2016 09:14

Thanks Salene (lovely names!). Looks like this baby will be Elizabeth if she's a girl then unless we change our minds another twenty times

Mslg · 26/04/2016 13:28

had such a fright this morning, felt a weird 'gush' this morning which felt like a period leak and then all wet in my underwear Confused it was cottage cheese like and watery when I looked. No cramps and baby has been moving about. Probably thrush back again as am a bit sore again vagina wise. Should I contact the midwife? Discharge has eased off again now though... Ahhhh just when I thought I was doing well gynaecologically 😫😫😫

Mslg · 26/04/2016 13:29

Posted on the pg board as well for traffic, has anyone else ever had something like that happen to them?

Christinedonna · 26/04/2016 13:37

That's what mine was like mslg I leaked through everything I wore! And it was thrush. If you've got canesten then I'd say there's no need to contact your midwife. If not I'd ring the doctor and get a prescription. Nothing to worry about

Belager · 26/04/2016 13:45

That sounds like thrush, I tend not to use canesten. I get the own brand at same strength which is miles cheaper! Hope it goes soon.

RainyMornings · 26/04/2016 13:54

Hi everyone, late to the party by the looks of it Blush
I'm due on August 15th, so relieved to be past the viability mark now
We are having a boy, he's probably going to be massive because people think I'm going to pop already

CheeseandGherkins · 26/04/2016 14:03

Hi Longtime, glad things are going ok so far.

HG I've just sent you a friend request, can I get added to the FB group please?

Mavis congrats, I'm also having a girl :)

Dileas sorry to hear about DD, we had something similar with Dd 4 (2 years old) who fell and
cut the back of her head open a few days ago. Luckily the drs managed to glue it but it bled quite
a bit and was wide open until it was glued.

Pickle I didn't need to have a GTT as I've already got gestational diabetes and I just finger test
to check early on now, I've been on insulin since 12ish weeks. It's not fun at all and I hate injecting
3 times a day and all the finger pricks. Hope yours goes well and that you don't have GD.

Christine lovely photos from your scan

Fizzy that's great news!

Sophia I've had awful heartburn and went to the drs, I didn't want to suffer again like I did last
pregnancy, I've been prescribed omeprazole which is great stuff. I'm keeping it for when I really
need it, rennie are only just working now and not lasting long at all.

I've been pretty much stuck indoors the past few days as my pgp (used to be called spd) has been
absolute agony, support belt not helping, paracetamol not touching the pain and I can barely walk.

I'm using crutches to help again but they're not great either. I had a bad flare earlier on in pregnancy
so I'm hoping this is just the same and goes away soon. I really can't be like this as the pain is too
much and I have all the other dcs to look after as well.

Been looking at new kitchens and we were hoping to get on in before the baby is born, fingers crossed!
It's hard planning as I'm definitely going to be early and maybe prem, depends how the GD and other things go. New carpets should be going in next week at least, but we may push that back a bit to give us time to paint and for me to recover enough to actually do something!

Mslg · 26/04/2016 14:12

Christine and belager thank you so much for the reassurance! Definitely don't want to be feeling gushes at this stage but at least it's nothing to worry about. Pesky thrush.

Hello Rainy and welcome Smile

Suziesome1 · 26/04/2016 16:42

I personally have swapped wine for gaviscon..... Looks like I should take out shares in veet for the poor bugger then!

PickleBot · 26/04/2016 18:30

Anyone else cream crackered? I'm just about ready to go to bed when Ds does.

OP posts:
Biscuitswithtea · 26/04/2016 18:34

Absolutely Pickle. Alas once ds is in bed is the only time we have for getting projects done (like decorating) so my bedtime doesn't happen at 7.30. Pity. Last night I ended up at Ikea til nearly 9pm!
