Great news Fizzy! Google's got a lot to answer for...

Plimsolls I adore Elizabeth. That's been my top girls name for years but DH isn't keen, same as with the other couple of names I've had in mind forever! Ho hum!

Hi Rainy glad to have you along for the ride.

I forget all the other stuff I was going to say now. I blame pregnancy brain

Mslg · 26/04/2016 18:48

Yeah I'm knackered again as well, have fallen asleep on the couch manys the afternoon and then felt sluggish and shit for the rest of the day.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 26/04/2016 19:52

Those struggling with heartburn I've got the gaviscon advance from the pharmacy on the minor ailments scheme. Seems to be helping me - meaning I am sleeping a bit better because of it too.

sophia I'm not sure they are going to be referring me for cbt as I've had it befor with limited success. It's more that I meet this midwife once a month for a chat about how everything is going and what my worries are. She's helping me write my birth plan too so that I know what is likely to happen in each scenario which I think will help me.

Sophia1984 · 26/04/2016 20:20

I bought some Gaviscon Advance today but it's disgusting! Like minty milk! Heartburn hasn't been too bad today as I've been quite busy - it's worse when I'm sitting still all day. That's great that midwife is helping x

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 26/04/2016 22:23

sophia it is awful! Tastes horrid but if you get part that I've found its helping! If not maybe see the GP for just a tablet to take?

Yes I'm seeing her tomorrow and I've made a wee list of worries to take in so I know what I want to talk about.

lilygirl81 · 27/04/2016 08:43

Hi all, sorry there are some hard times going on

Sophia definitely speak to your doctor, I have a hiatus hernia, so get horrific reflux normally, never mind when you add in pregnancy, and I get tubs of gaviscon tablets on repeat. I just can't swallow the liquid, it's so thick and nasty!!

Alfie I'm sorry about your anxiety, sounds really tough for you. I'm off work again now, and I know we live fairly close, so if you need a person IRL just let me know.

Pickle I'm not so tired now I'm on bed rest again, but still struggle to stay awake, on Saturday I was in bed by 8:30!

Hi Rainy nice to have you with us

We are fairly fixed on our name, but I worry people will judge us for its background. Essentially, when my grandparents died I used the money they left me to buy a puppy. She basically became my world, helped me through 2 EA relationships, pregnancy losses, and it was just her and I for a long time. She really was my surrogate baby, and loved and treated as such. Anyway, she died last year and I'm still fairly heartbroken, as is DH. She was named after my favourite flower, and we plan to call the baby after a different version of the same flower, which everyone who knew the dog will guess. Still, it's better than naming her like we named our new dog, as a shortened form of a dish we like in a favourite restaurant Grin

PickleBot · 27/04/2016 10:25

I also struggle with reflux normally (and ibs) and take Ormeprozole all the time, someone said they had been prescribed it and it is a wonderful drug! You do have to take it every day for it to work most effectively though. The other thing that helps is working out your triggers. When I was pg with ds it was coffee and bananas. Bananas are actually a really common trigger as is milk.

Lily how long are you off work for, or is it the foreseeable future.

DS has a play date after school, my house is a state because we've been decorating and I really need to clean; but I just can't summon the energy to. I'm just hanging out in bed and considering having coco pops for my lunch. I had some for breakfast and they were so good! Don't tell ds!

lilygirl81 · 27/04/2016 10:48

Pickle good point about the omeprazole, you really do need to take it every day, it doesn't work so well if you take it after the reflux has started.

I'm off work for another 3.5 weeks, then probably reduced hours.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 27/04/2016 21:32

lily that's so kind of you to offer. Thankfully hubby is back tonight which should help me get a better nights sleep! Hope you are managing to keep yourself occupied while you are off!

peardrop2 · 28/04/2016 08:22

I've got a lot to catch up on! I'll have a read now but first I have a question to ask you?

I am putting on an alarming amount of weight Blush Before pregnancy I wore size 10, then I got size 12 Top shop maternity jeans and now at 22 weeks I'm bursting out of them Blush The weight is not on my tummy. I actually have quite a small bump. The weight has gone to my arse, legs and bum. I feel like a massive whale and it is really getting me down. I can't believe that I may actually have to buy a size 14 pair of jeans today. Is this happening to anyone else? I know they say you put more weight on if you're carrying a girl but this feels like weight from eating too much cakes...I have been indulging a little too much Sad

Christinedonna · 28/04/2016 09:52

pear I think it's very easy to slip into that "it's okay I'm pregnant" mind set. I thought they said its all in belly with a girl and everywhere with a boy? That's what I read and apart from my thighs feeling a bit bigger (not noticeable) probably just in my head, all the weigh has gone to my belly and I'm having a girl. Whether all that's in the belly is baby or not I don't know! I went through a few weeks of ignorance and telling myself it's because I was pregnant but really I was treating myself a little too much. To be fair I haven't changed that an awful lot, il still give myself whatever I want, even if you don't have to eat for two..pregnancy is fucking horrible and I'm not adding 'deprived from chocolate' to the list of reasons I hate it! Just maybe have some water instead of the fizzy (I always felt so guilty after a fizzy drink) and go for little walks. It's surprising how enjoyable it is once you actually make yourself do it! Towards the end we're going to put on ALOT more weight so I'm trying to control it as much as I can for now!

rumisyum · 28/04/2016 14:03

Hello hello! Gosh, I've missed a lot. So glad to hear there's an FB group tbh, cause I tend to hang out there a bit more & the group from the mumsnet thread from my last baby is still going strong & remains a lovely support. HG I've messaged you on here as I couldn't find you on FB for some reason.

25 weeks! Shock How on earth did that happen?! Which reminds me... I really, really need to send HR that MatB1 form...

Loved the name discussion a way back upthread. We had only one boy's name last time & ended up with a boy. This time we have only one girl's name in the running, so maybe that means we're having a daughter... (We didn't find out at the scan.)

pear ugh, both this time & last I gained a surprising amount of weight early on in pregnancy, but last time I also lost it fairly quickly, so I don't know if that's just how my body does pregnancy? That's what I'm telling myself anyway (while eating cake).

Have been struggling to keep up because a toddler, work & pregnancy knackeredness is kicking my backside, but it's occurred to me this week that I really should start to put some thought into this pregnancy. Like childcare cover for childbirth this time?! i did so much birth prep last time, poor neglected 2nd baby, so it goes.

rumisyum · 28/04/2016 14:06

Oh, silly me, I found you HG & msged you on FB.

OwlinaTree · 28/04/2016 19:08

Has anyone found a brand of maternity tights that don't just roll down your legs as you walk. All I've done today is pull tights up in a most undignified manner. So so annoying!

lilygirl81 · 28/04/2016 19:17

Owlina I have one pair, but for the life of me I can't remember where I got them which is driving me mad as I want another pair at least!!

plimsolls · 28/04/2016 19:20

I've got a few over the bump pairs from Mothercare and they're fine. Also fine are a pair of Boots own brand ones, although I've noticed the waistband has gone a bit funny (like a bit baggy) but that could be my lax washing!

Dileas29 · 28/04/2016 20:39

owlina I only buy my over the bump leggings from H&m and they are only £7.99! Lovely material and not see through!

OwlinaTree · 28/04/2016 21:23

Thanks, will try mothercare and boots. I've got some leggings but can't wear those for work.

bakingqueen · 28/04/2016 21:31

Hello,

I'm a late joiner I'm 24 weeks pregnant due the 15th August but having an elective c section so will have baby the week before. I've got a 4 year old son and due another boy

Sophia1984 · 28/04/2016 22:22

Boots maternity tights are great but pricey.

Christinedonna · 29/04/2016 12:53

Is the tiredness back for anyone else? It doesn't help that I have builders up the loft and have been woken up every morning for the last few weeks at 8ish when I don't get to sleep until the early hours. I don't know if they're tiredness induced hormones, pregnancy or both but I could actually cry because I'm not asleep right now! I have work later which I just want to sleep through and having mixed feelings of "I can't wait to be done with work for a year" andddd "oh my god, I'm off for so long before the baby's here. I'm going to be so bored!" And as much as I feel like omg I'm 25+1 now it's going so quick! I also feel like there's sooo long left to go! Sleeping for 10 weeks would solve all my problems

Salene · 29/04/2016 17:22

Tiredness for me has gone to the next level. Husband been away 4 weeks and isn't home for another week so I'm totally on my own, my 19 month old has had me up every hour last two nights , he never sleeps well as it is but I normall get at least 1 x 3 hour stretch. yesterday at work was hard going and this morning I've woke up like I'm getting flu or something as my limbs feel so sore and heavy it's a struggle to move and this morning I've had to chase him about a bloody playbarn all morning, then he been running me ragged all afternoon

Right now I just want to crawl into bed and cry I feel so shitty

Not going happen at least till 9pm by time I sort him out

Anyone else finding it hard with a toddler and being pregnant

Oh And I feel like a cripple hobbling with SPD

I wish I had someone to help even if it was just for a hour or too 🙈😳

Sorry for the massive moan

I feel right sorry for myself

Salene · 29/04/2016 17:26

Oh is there a link to the facebook group..??

rumisyum · 29/04/2016 18:07

I feel your pain, Salene & Christinedonna. I've not been sleeping well, so was desperate for my toddler to have a good nap this afternoon so .i could have a lie down after work... And he hasn't napped at all. WOE. Counting down till bedtime...

Maternity jeans are really annoying me this time. My Topshop under-bump ones that I adored last time just keep falling down, so I got an H&M over-bump pair, but it's doing the same. Maybe my bump is just oddly shaped this time? Or maybe the rest of me is still too out of whack from the first pregnancy? Hmm

FourForYouGlenCoco · 29/04/2016 18:09

pear don't worry too much about weight gain. The recommended weight gain for someone with a normal prepreg BMI is at least 25lbs, which sounds an awful lot, but it does all come off again in my experience. I gained about 28lbs with DD and was back in my normal clothes by the time she was 2 weeks old. Have gained more this time round as am much less active, but I'm on track to stay within the guidelines and I know it'll come off again sooner or later, so I'm not fussed.
Christine yes to the tiredness! I'm knackered, just want to sleep forever.
Salene sorry you're having such a hard time, it sounds bloody tough. Does your DS go to nursery? Maybe pull a sickie, send him in and just have a day to yourself to sleep, relax, and hopefully feel better!

Ok here but feeling it a bit now. The return of the dreaded tiredness has turned me into horrible boring mummy. Plus we are currently packing the house up bit by bit (in the vague hope of moving before we retire) and I think it's unsettled DD, she is very emotional and stroppy over the tiniest things. Not like her at all and it's very draining!
I'm so utterly sick of the whole moving process, BP was on the high side at mw appt yesterday and I'm sure that's why.
Pelvic pain is getting worse, it's all in the bottom of my back & my bum and if I do too much it's really painful. But DH is away all week so I don't really have a choice! If he could see his way to running the Hoover round at the weekend it'd help, but I don't think it's even occurred to him.
None of this stuff would particularly faze me normally, but I'm constantly sore and I'm so bloody tired! Just want to get moved and settled so I can finally relax Sad sorry for the long self-indulgent moany post!
