My jeans don't fit that well this time either-ones from DS and the new ones Confused

This baby gets in some weird positions, constantly pushing on my bladder then tonight either a bum or head was sticking out in such a weird place it hurt like crazy til he/she moved.

Waking up at 4.50am every day and can't get back to sleep so tiredness kicking back in here too

Salene · 29/04/2016 20:59

Fourfor

Yeah he goes to nursery when I go to work part time would love to pull a sickie but I work in oil industry which is in crisis at the moment with thousands been laid off. Now is not the time to get a sickness record of you know what I mean

Though if I do have flu in not sure what state I will be in come Tuesday when I'm due to work

I'm so angry at myself as I was offered a flu jab and forget to call and get appointment

LotsofDots · 29/04/2016 22:32

Also knackered here, and pelvic pain is definitely creeping in - mentioned it to my MW yesterday and phoned the physios so they are seeing me on Tuesday. On the plus side my BP was marvellous and everything else is fine! Must remember to book an appointment for whooping cough vaccine soon - do those of you in England have to do this too? There has been an increase in pertussis in Scotland so they are encouraging mums to be to get a booster.

Hello new people, sorry for not noting names, but am on my phone and difficult to scroll back!

MrsZumbaDancer · 30/04/2016 06:47

lots whooping cough recommended between 28-32 weeks in England.. Although I saw an article a few weeks ago which said it can be done earlier I think.. I had it with DS and will have it with this little one

LotsofDots · 30/04/2016 07:20

That's the same here then.

Salene · 30/04/2016 08:05

In Scotland the guidelines have been changed from 16 to 28 weeks

hgleslie89 · 30/04/2016 10:12

salene it's set up as a secret group. If you send me a friend request (I'm Harriet Leslie, my profile pic is a couple and a cat chilling out) and I'll add you to the group.

LotsofDots · 30/04/2016 14:30

That's interesting salene since when? The leaflet I was given in my pack is dated 2015, so was slightly out of date when I was issued with it in March, but it says ideally 28-32 but any time after 28 weeks.

Salene · 30/04/2016 14:54

Only about 3 weeks ago I got told about it at my 24 week appointment that it had changed 2 weeks before. Now I'm not sure if that's the whole of Scotland, just my NHS area, I never asked. If you check with your midwife just ask have they been made aware of new guidelines.

HG I've sent you a friends request

Gail

MrsZumbaDancer · 30/04/2016 15:03

I think new advice is after 20 week scan - I saw an article somewhere!

Biscuitswithtea · 30/04/2016 15:52

Midwife told me 28wks for whooping cough jab.

Having a quandary. Pelvic pain has totally ramped up in past couple of days and driving is now really sore. I'm supposed to be going to a ticketed work event tonight (it's free, but tickets were a sod to get I believe). But it's just over an hr drive each way, there's no other way to get there, nobody who can give me a lift, and I don't know if I can go now :(

Salene · 30/04/2016 16:00

No it's 16 - 32 , I found the link. My midwife had told about new guidelines at my 24 week appointment, it's uk wide not just Scotland

www.ovg.ox.ac.uk/pertussis-vaccine-in-pregnancy

In April 2016 the UK’s Department of Health updated its advice on the best time for pregnant women to get the pertussis vaccine. The vaccine is now recommended any time between week 16 and week 32 of pregnancy. Before April 2016 pregnant women were advised to get the vaccine in the third trimester (between week 28 and week 32), which was thought to be the best time for antibodies to be made and passed from the mother to the baby across the placenta. The change in advice is based on a new study by Swiss researchers which showed that more antibodies crossed from the mother to the baby when the pertussis vaccine was given earlier in pregnancy.

LotsofDots · 30/04/2016 17:55

Glad I brought it up! Will give my GP a call this week and make an appointment sooner rather than later!

lilygirl81 · 01/05/2016 15:30

No one has mentioned the whooping cough vaccine to me at all! My next midwife appointment will be at 29 weeks so will ask then. I know I didn't get the vaccine as a child as it was the only one my mum didn't trust for some reason.

I've been out for lunch today which was lovely, but come home and realised I've hardly felt the baby move all day. She did a few small movements this morning, but she normally goes crazy after food and there has been nothing. I've just had a cold glass of water and lying on my left side, but still nothing. I'm 27+2, so she does tend to be forceful and regular. Do you think I am OK to give it an hour and see if I feel anything and if not give the hospital a call?

Mslg · 01/05/2016 16:34

Lily did you try orange juice or some chocolate? That usually gets mine moving. Any movement since?

lilygirl81 · 01/05/2016 16:38

I've had a couple of decent movements and have sent DH out for chocolate. She was very active yesterday so maybe just sleepy!! I think everything is ok, one of the movements I could feel from the outside

Mslg · 01/05/2016 16:46

Yeah probably just having a lazy day!!

peardrop2 · 01/05/2016 16:58

I'm 23 weeks tomorrow and I haven't been told about the vaccine either!

Thanks to those who have told me not to worry about getting fat. It's been on my mind a lot and really got me down in the dumps last week. I have been feeling a bit more positive about it.

My baby girl has also had some quiet days. I was saying to DH yesterday that it is a lot harder to track now that I have a toddler as I can't always remember the last movement. I find if we have a very busy day out, she will sleep a lot the next day.

lilygirl81 · 01/05/2016 17:00

Oh dear, turns out this baby is as chocoholic as I am, that's her quite happy now I've had a star at and some Galaxy (had to have lots just to make sure)

peardrop2 · 01/05/2016 17:13

That's good lily Smile

FourForYouGlenCoco · 01/05/2016 19:20

Glad she got moving lily! I find this baby will have a few mad days and then a quiet one - hardly felt anything yesterday, would have rung today if it had carried on, but as soon as I got up he started wriggling and has barely stopped all day!
Salene how you doing? Hope the threatened flu didn't develop into the full-blown thing. And having the flu jab is no guarantee that you won't get it anyway, so don't beat yourself up about it!
pear glad you're worrying less now and feeling better about weight gain. Surely one of the perks of pregnancy is not having to worry about this stuff for a while!

Hope everyone's enjoying their long weekend Grin we've had a lovely family weekend so far. And I took myself off this afternoon for an hour in the bath, bubbles courtesy of Lush, with my book. Was beaut! Feel so relaxed and rejuvenated. Highly recommend to anyone feeling a bit blah! It really is the little things.

Salene · 01/05/2016 19:52

Lily never feel you have to wait re ringing hospital about reduced movement

You know your baby best, if you suspect baby isn't moving as much, they say lie down queit place and have some sugar (juice etc) if you still not feeling it call hospital

You can't be too careful and they say that a lot of first time mums who have still births noticed reduced movement in days before but are unsure if being paranoid

So never hesitate to ring if you are worried at all xx

Salene · 01/05/2016 19:54

Fourfor

I'm OK a friend came and took my dogs a walk today and my toddler out on his bike and too park for a hour so that was a help

I don think I have flu as I feel better today just shattered but used to that with a non sleeping toddler 😳

Thanks for askimg

peardrop2 · 01/05/2016 20:51

Four I had a bath too Smile and just about painted my toenails! My bump is much lower this time as I'm certainly struggling more far sooner then I did with my DS!

rumisyum · 01/05/2016 21:52

I'm going to have to join the bath brigade tomorrow. I LOVED being in water last time, went swimming, aqua natal classes, took lots of baths... sadly the toddler is ruling out lots of those this time. But with rain predicted for tomorrow I might have to indulge.

Thanks for the reminders re whooping cough. I don't think the midwives even mentioned it this time? Or I forgot... Another thing to add to my to-do list!

Hope everyone's having a lovely bank holiday weekend. Been enjoying May Day celebrations big time over here - spent most of the day walking around. Pretty tired & heavy bump now.
