ok I know nappies, mat towels, p.j's, baby grows, toothbrush, hair brush etc
Then I go blank.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 17:18

breast pads, vests, sleepsuits, arnica, hats, towels, flannel, sleep mask, ear plugs, chocolate, juice cartons....

bubblez · 05/01/2007 17:21

Ok well off the top of my head I can think of..

Slippers
Flipflops (to wear in the shower, so as not to step on skanky floor)
Shower gel/shampoo etc
Towels
Drinks/snacks (depending on your hosp, I hated the hosp food and found it a long wait for the visit, when dp brought food)

...to add.

Home clothes or more clothes etc can be brought by dp.

will prob think of more in a min.

bubblez · 05/01/2007 17:22

beat me to it CFK

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 17:25

CFK- arnica?

nuttygirl · 05/01/2007 17:28

Woo my delivery has arrived too (just the moses basket - not expecting the others for a week or so!). Not too impressed at parcel force guy who took one look at me and said "It's not very heavy" (parcel guy speak for "don't think i'm gonna lift it inside for you") .

Off to open it...will post tomorrow if I have internet access!

bubblez · 05/01/2007 17:34

Grrrrrr at lazy arse delivery guy... what a sod!!!! Hope that your Internet connection stays on. Fingers crossed.

opinionsrus · 05/01/2007 17:36

Does anyone just HATE being pregnant or is it just me???

bubblez · 05/01/2007 17:37

Oh 1B3 I took cotton wool to do baby's bum as I didnt want to use wipes on her so young.

And vaseline as her barrier cream.

Oh mitts.

its all coming back to me now.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 17:40

Arnica is a homeopathic rememdy for bringing down bruising - good for natural delivery or section - you can get it in tablet form - easy to take and harmless.

Some people like tea tree oil for their bath - good antiseptic.

If you are in hosp for a while - get dh to bring in take aways - nice pizza/curry... much nicer than horrible hosp food - and lots of fruit too.

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 17:43

I'm with you there opionsrus,I don't enjoy having to carry a bloody huge bloody gut around with me everywhere, getting no sleep, having to pee all the time and all the other "fun" stuff that come with it

opinionsrus · 05/01/2007 17:52

Thank god for that.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 17:59

1b3 - I imagine you are slightly bigger than the rest of us!

Apart from the spd I am enjoying pg now (not the first chundering 16 weeks LOL) - but now have had some serious retail therapy for me and bump, get to be pampered, stay in bed lots, eat more chocolate, have baby moving inside etc etc I really do feel quite happy and looking forward to his arrival

opinionsrus · 05/01/2007 18:18

1becomes3 - oh dear - pregancy brain - have just worked out your name! er durr.

You poor thing, I really do feel for you!

Just think though only one labour and two additions to your family what a bargain!

BBCK - retail therapy.Now you're talking...

mistletoejo · 05/01/2007 19:14

Hi all. Hope everyone is well.

Opinionsrus, I am not a fan of pregnancy either to be honest. I feel big and uncomfortable with what I think is a little backside digging up into my ribs when I sit down. Ds was that way for weeks too. I just want to get these last 12 weeks over and have the baby. I do like the movement and things, but physically it just not agree with me!! All power to any woman who enjoys pregnancy - would love to be one of them!!

mammyjo · 05/01/2007 19:19

Oops, just realised I still had my festive name. This should have changed it!

mammyjo · 05/01/2007 19:21

Forgot to say thankyou to whoever talked about witch hazel. I used bucketfuls of the stuff last time round and it was so soothing on my poor shredded nethers!! Works a treat so have added it to my essentials to get list. I used to keep it in the fridge and couldnt get enough of the stuff!! I had totally forgotten about it until I read that post.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/01/2007 19:37

Hiya ladies, esp to those who haven't been on for a while. Tili, I loved your reference to my shopping list of sexual positions! The thought of doing any of them does not appeal I have to say - at the moment that is!

I too am feeling huge and uncomfortable and am only 24 weeks. I feel like boobs are resting on bump, and bump is resting on thighs. I think it is because I have quite a small frame - I weigh 1 stone less than I did when I was pg with dd.

Did someone else say they had started to have headaches again? I have a thumper of one at the moment that will not shift. I am hoping a good night's sleep will sort it out.

Anyway, hth and put the thai takeaway in the oven - how lazy am I!!??

xx

opinionsrus · 05/01/2007 21:20

Shall we start a new poll - who HATES being pregnant!! honest answers only.

I can honestly say that almost from the day I fell on I have wanted the labour over and done with in fact I am going to crack open champers just as I start with labour this time.

Looking forward to babby no 2 - just please let this pregnancy hurry up - no more EVER!!!
Couldn't go without my wine for another 9 months.

opinionsrus · 05/01/2007 21:21

PS did anyone try anyone 1% wine over xmas. My advice don't bother. I'd rather drink lemonade its minging.

WestCountryLass · 05/01/2007 22:17

I always think it is a shame that some women do not enjoy pregnancy but if you are really uncomfortable and feel ill all the time it msut be a drag.

I am one of those bitches that pregnancy agrees with

I haven't tried the wine, i'd rather have an Appletiser, and at Xmas I had one snowball (sad kiddies alcopop).

elkiedee · 05/01/2007 22:54

Hi everyone, I've not been around for weeks and weeks, can't remember if I posted in December but certainly well before Christmas. I had a lot of time when I didn't really feel like using the computer at all, and I slept through most of the Christmas break - boyfriend's mum staying here as well so the bedroom was a refuge when I was awake, and the computer's downstairs. Then I felt sick from Thursday through Saturday. Sigh....

Luci

CaptainDippy · 05/01/2007 23:23

Argh - Bump aching and horrendeous heartburn - yuk yuk yuk!

Off to bed in a mo, but just wanted to catch up here......

to your feeling sick too MIABT - Crap, isn't it?? Just horrid.

Great stuff about the fabby Hen Do though - wish I had something like that to look forward to!!

I have lots of stretchmarks - down my tummy and around my bellybutton - It's my third, os shouldn't complain, I am no way "road map ish", but they are most definitely there - Never wore bikini / short tops anyway, so doesn't really bother me - anyway, they remind me of my beauitful babies and are 100% worth it!!

I am planning a home delivery - anyone else??

My boobs are leaking lots too - esp when I am around other babies!!

Bump aching too much to sit here any longer so going to bed - I'll be back tomorrow....

CaptainDippy · 05/01/2007 23:24

Oh yeah - and Witch Hazel - Bloody maaaaarvellous stuff - 100% swear by it!!

liath · 06/01/2007 00:51

Urgh - can't sleep.

Not a big fan of pregnancy here either, actively disliked it first time though am finding this one physically better so far.

I did try some low alcohol wine over Christmas - there was a sparkling one that was actually OK (called vin zero) but the ordinary white was horrible. Sainsbury's do a nice dealcoholised German Lager but I'm looking forward to getting back to the proper wine!

I was in a foul mood today, not helped by reversing into DH's car in the driveway (oops) which sent me into a hormonal rage. Will try to be more cheerful tomorrow - if I manage to get to sleep....
